Ms. Murphy is an excellent teacher. I was not interested in Texas Goverment at all before the class started, however she takes current events and relates then to how they effect Texas and where the laws stand in Texas. If you go to class and study your notes you will make an A or B if you do not go to class and take notes you will make F.

Mrs. Murphy is the best. She rarely gives homework, I think she gave one one-page paper the whole semester, and she really only read it to see our opinions. She made govt. my favorite class and I never wanted to miss it, coz we always had fun in there and still learned so much. Hopefully they'll give her more classes to teach next semester.

Wow! Murphy made this class extremely interesting even for folks that could care less about politics. Open discussion is used for the first half of each class to discuss current events or anything else pertaining to government, etc. I am looking forward to taking more of her classes although she is just a part time instructor at TCC.

Took her last year dual credit government SHE IS THE BEST TEACHER! her class is all discussions and she is extremely open to your opinion. We took 3 tests, one essay and a final, very easy. She goes over the test and hands out a review the day before the test. If you can definitely take her for any government class!!!!

The first day I was thinking boy this class is going to have a lot of tension. However the way she teaches she makes everyone feel their opinion counts. She is also very funny.

I took Texas Government maymester,it was 11 days! However Murphy made it seem fun and bearable. We had three easy exams(just study the review),3 documentary responses and 5 written assignments. She is so easy! Also her stories are hilarious, she made coming to class worth it.

Out of my entire college carrier she has been the teacher that I have had the most respect for. She was so chill and amazingly awesome, the only way to fail her class is to try and fail. I disagreed with half of the stuff she said but by god I loved going to it.

Let me just say that this class actually teaches you. It's very hard not engage yourself into the discussions because they are very interesting. Everyday, new topics are discussed. Easy class but you actually learn. Some of her lessons still stick with me to this day. Excellent style of teaching.

One of the best professors at TCC, hands down. She is very kind and keeps a very upbeat classroom. The work is easy, but you still learn, and the tests are not difficult if you put in a good 20 minutes of studying beforehand. I would recommend her to anyone.

Don't skip class. Take notes. Great instructor. You have to know the material for the tests but she can get caught up answering student questions which means self-teaching some material. She's more than happy to answer questions and is a great teacher. It's a political science class, but try to avoid talking politics -- she'll make you look dumb.

This is one of the best Professors I've had so far, she is very clear and up front about everything to expect. Her syllabus clearly lines out your time with her. If you can't walk away, your not trying. She focuses on our surroundings and if nothing you will walk away with the knowledge of whats going on in Texas. Highly recommended, very positive

Took Professor Murphy for GOV 2305 and actually enjoyed the class. Her lectures are really short and sweet, unlike other professors. At the end of the week, there's a quiz and it is based on the short lectures and she gives a review and optional helpful videos to study.

Mrs. Murphy is AMAZING!!!! I had to take this class online because of the pandemic but she's really nice, very reliable, and understanding. During the snowstorm, I was unable to do my homework and the quiz she gave us but she understood and gave us an extra week to complete the work. Take the 8-week class too. Thats the one I took.
