He is a great teacher, but you really have to work hard for your grade, this is college, and he takes his students work seriously, which is how it's supposed to be, be responsible, and be in class.

He's an overall great professor. I really enjoyed his class because we got to learn about other Latin cultures and history. He makes you work for grade but he truly cares about his students. I learned so much in his class! I would take him again if I need to take a higher level Spanish class. Make sure you show up on time!!

Hands down the best professor you will have in the foreign Language department ever at Mission. He's extremely helpful, kind, and enthusiastic about his teaching. You really get the feeling that he wants to teach. He makes very grammar very simple, and he uses very good/simple examples. TAKE THIS CLASS. It will help, trust me. Don't skip class!

All you have to do is your work. He is easy going and alway willing to help.

Professor Escobar, is a must take. Believe me! At the beginning of the class you might get the feeling of wanting to drop the class because he shows to be very serious, "conceided" etc. but after that once you get to know him, you are going to find yourself with a great person. A person to admire. He is so funny!

He's very passionate with a lot of life experience and knows a lot about the subject and he makes you feel like if you were a university student. No slackers will get along with this proffessor.

Professor Escobar is one of the few professor's I have met that cares about his students. You can just tell he loves his job and he wants to make sure EVERYONE understands it. He might get on you nerves sometimes! But honestly, it is only because he's testing you to make sure you understand the subject. :)

This professor is amazing. Hands down one of the best professors I've ever had. I took him 2 semesters ago and still look up how hes doing because hes the only professor that might change your life. He is very helpful and caring. He only wants to see his students succeed and it hurts him when they dont. Highly recommend him. Very knowledgeable.

It is interesting how people complain about his teaching but I think he is a good professor and likes to help his students. Always available and not confusing at all.

This has been a tremendous learning experience for me, academically. Our final project was to write a fairytale. He has a very exciting personality to work with and caring. So many things I want to say about him. He is serious but friendly. Biker, poet and a professor. Girls don't get any ideas.

Professor Escobar, is very strict, but he's an excellent professor. He is always available during his office hours. He really tried making the class as fun as possible! We would play Jeopardy and usually gave the winners extra credit. At the end of the semester we had a potluck. He's an interesting guy with a lot of experience.

He makes you work for your grade, if you are a native speaking of Spanish, you will be fine!

I am not a native Spanish speaker so I was a bit nervous about this class but Escobar saw that I was making an effort and really helped me out. He really cares about his students and likes to see them improve. He keeps class interesting with games and videos. It's not an easy class but I learned a lot and Escobar was very supportive.

want a fun class? want the 2 1/2 hours to fly by? don't be shy, take this class. do not listen to the crybabies about how his class sucks. they apparently have some personal issues. this professor (Dr.) wants you to succeed.. Go to class, do the homework, you will do fine. Be prepared for learning Spanish in the fun way.

He's honestly such a great teacher! The only bad thing about him is he gives a lot of homework. he's a really nice guy.

Very good professor! He has tons of resources for his students to make them read, feel and breath Spanish! Because he is not an ordinary teacher, he might give you some easy homework. Spanish is a challenging language and needs more than just a 3-hour class twice a week. You need to R-E-A-L-L-Y practice it at home with homework & memorize samples

Doctor Escobar is an amazing professor. He'll push to become a better student. He's very helpful he gives you a study guide for the midterm and for the final. He's always available during office hours and he's very nice and always very helpful.

He's great! He gives EXTRA CREDIT when you go to his lectures at other schools. He's one of the wisest professors. He gives great support and feedback.

Spanish035 Great class you will learn a lot. Make sure to check canvas daily and keep up with assignments. Doesn't give extra credit or takes late assignments. He expects you to take this class seriously. Study and you will do great in this class. Ask questions or he will assume you understand the lessons. Tests will be based on class lessons.

Prof Escobar is a great guy! He is definitely someone to admire. He will teach you if you come ready to learn and participate. Don't waste your time and his by thinking that this is the class to just show up and pass with an easy A just because you think you know spanish. Show up everyday and come ready to do the work and you'll pass.

His class is not a difficult class, but a Challenging one!The professor is so immersed in Latin-American culture and literature!He is amazing for the intermediate to most advanced Spanish classes! Best Spanish Professor ever! I took him for SPA 1, 2 , and 3. Not an easy A even if Spanish is your first language, but even hard working non-native speakers can thrive in his class. Profe looks for real engagement and interest and he goes beyond class material to give his students quality education. He is really cool guy outside of class too.

I took professor Escobar during fall when online classes started. He is a very good professor. He is very straight forward. Textbook is mandatory and so is attendance. Make sure you do pay attention. VHL is mandatory and does assign homework there. Overall, great teacher!

I took him for this fall and he does not play around. Do the work and youll be fine. He is a fast paced teacher so get on board. Lots of reading. He makes you work for your grade. Would take again

He is honestly a Good professor really understanding and always willing to help his students, his doors are always open to us and he never says no if you need help with anything i honestly always tell my friends to take his class i will be taking more from him!

Grading is a bit slow but I would recommend this professor.

If you do the work, you will be fine. He leave homework at the end of the week which means you need you make use of your time. It worked for me.

I took this class during the summer, a 5-week course, that averaged 70+ homework assignments in addition to 3+ weekly discussions. The discussions are easy and helpful with the weekly lesson, but were assigned after the lesson, so consider them a review. He's a solid professor, but the amount of work he gives out is ridiculous. You'll be burnt out.

If you want an easy A, maybe he isn't for you, but if you actually want to improve your Spanish, he's the best. He explains the "why" behind the principles of the language which made a huge difference for me as a non-heritage speaker. Sure, he wouldn't post things when he said he would, but my Spanish increased dramatically so who cares?

I took his in person class and it was cool. We had lecture for 2/3 of the class and then did class exercises which helped understand the lesson. The homework was annoying mainly because of the accent marks that needed to be in the answers. I had fun in his class and I do recommend his Spanish class
