Great teacher allows you to re-submit your paper for a full grade. Take advantage of this. also touches base with students if you have any questions through e-mail.

Looking at the other comments I wonder if I had the same professor. We had some real crybabies in our class. I did the work and the reading. True, there was alot of it, but he was always ready to help. We got weekly progress reports.

I liked his class, but the wk could be time consuming. He was also v. disorganized--he often sent out late-night emails the day before class w/ info that we would need for the next day. Plus, most of the crap he sends out is defective (he tries to adobify everything!) and he'll blame it on YOUR puter. Still, he DOES seem to try to pass everyone.

Garcia is a beast and gets you interested in the class. Started out super fast with lots of essays but gradually slowed down. HELPS WITH EVERYTHING and gives you second chances on everything. Believes every student deserves an A and will strive to get you there. Grades good but expects increase in english knowledge throughout classes. Great!!

I can honestly say that I have learned more from this man in one semester than I have 2 years at moorpark. Yes, there are essays and selective readings but they are extremely interesting and relative. He is more than willing to help and is very straightforward with what he wants/expects. EASY A! And he's hot.

Take this class if you are willing to work and want to learn. There is light homework and yes, you will have to write some papers and do a few assignments. Attendance IS MANDATORY. I have gone to private school my whole life and the last thing I expected was to have my best teacher ever at Junior College. He doesn't waste time with lectures that aren't necessary and he understands that not everyone is great at writing. If you try you will do well.

There were a lot of online grammer practices that had to be turned in every week along with some quizzes from those practices (which were easy). A lot of thesis writing practices that we had to do from reading short stories. Which can be very annoying. His grading was also hard but if you ask for help on the writing format he will help you out.

Garcia is very clear with what he wants from his students. He tells you straight up, there is a short online quiz and a grammar excercise due every week, that seems like a lot, but if you make some friends, its easily done :) and his essays allow a lot of time inside and out of class,he gives you outlines and tells you how to do anything he expects

He is actually really great at what he does. No exams. Just essays and online quizzes. He gives tough grades in essays but if you follow his outline and what he wants you to write you would get an A in this class. Really helpful too but sometimes unclear on what he wants. Make sure to use portfolios he gives out too. It helps.

Honestly, I don't feel like I learned much in this class, but Prof. Garcia made it really easy. Assignments are easy and really straight forward, and I definitely recommend this class to anyone looking for a pain-free way to get credits, but if you consider yourself a capable writer looking for honest improvement, you might try someone else.

Seems tough the first week and you'll want to drop, but stick it out and it'll get much clearer. He doesn't explain what he wants well in his lectures, but makes a whole layout for you to follow while writing your paper. He is really nice and helpful and doesn't expect more than he asks of you. The class syllabus WILL frighten you! But he's a very good teacher who helps you the whole way. The first day of class a student commented that there are a lot of ways to fail and he replied that there are also a lot of ways to succeed. This is very true. He's also pretty funny and the class I'm in has fun and we like going to class.

EASIEST English class that I have EVER taken so far! My English class for my senior year was harder and more work than this! People complain about the work but it was easy stuff! He is very helpful and the class went by fast, definately an easy A if you go everyday && do all your work! Nothing like the syllabus makes his class seem!

I found this class to be a joy to go to and very easy to understand. The only problem I find you may have is, he works with his students and changes things in class after discussing it with them, so if you tend to leave early or be late to class you may miss some very important details. Be on time and don't ditch and the class with be enjoyable

One of the nicest guys, most understanding teachers I have ever had. He basically gives you all the steps in writing your essays, so it was a tad too easy in some ways. However, you do write a lot and it is an enjoyable class.

This teacher is very helpful, he's there every step of the way. He even met with me and a couple of other students outside of class to tutor us on an essay! At first i liked him, but at the end of the semester he PILES ON THE WORK!!! NO CONSIDERATION OF THE FACT WE HAVE OTHER CLASSES, JOBS, LIVES! Final is a 8 page essay that we have to write in 2 hours? most of us dont have that type of attention span, its really quite ridiculous. Take a less stressful class.

Overall, he's a cool person. Usually willing to help. The problem, however, is in the structure of the class. Tons of groupwork with several pointless assignments. Also, he's a really hard essay grader. And near the end of the semester, you have to write a 15 page research paper, along with an 8 page in class final essay. Unbelievably stressful.

Professor Garcia made it crystal-clear on the first day what his expectations of his students were and what you had to do to pass his class. Is the class easy? Absolutely not. However, it's a class that's worth the labor. If the class was easy, what would you learn from it? Take this class if you actually want to gain knowledge, not just get by.

I highly suggest taking this English M01A class if you must take an English class over the Summer. Professor Garcia is very clear about what he expects. Every assignment is layed out. His class is hard but if you put in the work the highest grade you will most likely get is a B. He is interesting at first but once you get to know each other he is a great teacher. He bring up interesting/relevant topics in class. The essays prompts are clear and he guides you though every step while still allowing you to have your input. I recommend him to hard working students. Prof. Garcia is overall a great teacher, but if you want an A, you have to work for. We had quite a bit of homework which he grades harshly unless you do it exactly how he wants it. At the beginning he was more difficult, but towards the end he started to loosen up. Just do everything how he wants and youll be fine!

Prof. garcia goes beyond with his students and always wants to make sure youre succeeding. he's very passionate about what he teaches!! the quizes are easy, the essays are a bit challenging but provides helpful lectures on how to write them. highly recommend this class for an easy a!!

this man is literally the most caring teacher I have ever had, I'm not a good writer and he was always making sure I was doing okay and helping me do better. some say he is tough grader but not really he is just meeting the standards for the state.. he's so sweet and caring and he's also very wise.

Mr. Garcia, has to be one of the most caring and understanding teachers. He goes around asking each and every student if they need help or where they are at in their assignments that way he can extend it if needed. Hes a hard but very fair grader, so as long as you do the work you will get the grade you want.

Professor Garcia is an amazing professor and an amazing person. I took him for English MO1A and B. His essay outlines and grading criteria set you up for success and make the writing process so much easier. He is very helpful and there is no feeling like getting an A in his class after working hard for it, rather than it just being handed to you.

His class is difficult, especially if you are not used to being pushed by your teachers to do better. He expects alot from his students and it can be intimidating, but he never gives you an assignment that he doesn't think you can do well on. Very helpful with essays. Relates content to other disciplines. You grow as a person after his class!

The class is only hard if you dont put in the time or effort. If you show that youre trying, hell help you get an A. Overall, he was a great teacher and cares about his students.

I had professor Garcia for Mo1A and for Mo1B and for a guy who never got an A in high school getting an A in both of his classes means these classes are doable. His classes are not hard but might be a little difficult if you dont listen to what he says! You just have to be on top of things when assignments are due. And definitely put in the work!

Professor Garcia gives inspiring and thought provoking lectures that accompany course material. He is a talented orator and structure intensive writing critique. He encourages students to apply multiple lenses through which to view literature and does an amazing job bringing readers and writers to the next level.

THE BEST ENGLISH TEACHER!! First off I have never had a good experience with an English teacher and they never made my experience with writing enjoyable but he does and for the first time ever I'm getting an A in English. The work load can be a lot and busy work but it is easy points for your grades. Make time for this class. He genuinely cares!

Garcia is my favorite teacher at Moorpark. At first he seemed super tough. But as the weeks drew on he turned out to be one the most caring people I've met. Several tragedies occurred over this semester and our class grew into a family. Garcia said, "This semester I learned the difference between stuff that matters and stuff that doesn't."

Professor Garcia is extremely passionate when it comes to his lectures, making the class very interesting. Although there are many assignments, each prepares you to help write your essays. It's easy to receive an A in this class, but you must do your classwork, attend lectures, and send your essays to the writing center. Overall, he is amazing!

Professor Garcias is by far a really great teacher. He lets students know that he cares and does what he can to get you the help you need. He is not only there as a professor but a friend as well. As for the actual work, he makes you work hard. He does hand out a lot of tiny work but its worth it! He's really organized and wants to see you succeed

When I first took Professor Garcias M01B course I was safaris. I didnt think I had the tools the success. However, with Professor Garcias help I feel much more knowledge after taking the course. He cares deeply about all of his students, and is very flexible with due dates. You must put in the work the receive the grade you desire.

if you do the work and turn in the assignment on time 100% will pass, very easy class, intersting topics, easy grading tells you exactly what he wants in your essay, only thing is that he does lag to reply, zoom meeting once a week not mandatory but you do have to show up for a least 2 . H

For my first college class, Professor Garcia was perfect. He explained all the upcoming assignments and walked us through example essays. He always helped each student develop their papers by discussing the topic or even explaining objections or limitations to it. He always welcomed questions which made me feel comfortable in the class.

Professor Garcia was a very understanding professor. He responded to emails fairly quickly and gave some great constructive criticism when revising my essays. He grades fairly and makes you a better writer. He doesn't overload the class with work and if you just put in the work you'll do great.

Professor Garcia is a great educator. He really cares for his student is available at almost any time. If you just do the work he requests it is easy to get an A.

I took Professor Garcias class over the summer. Just do what you are suppose to do and put effort into it and you will pass. The only thing difficult is that it was hard to get in touch with him at least for me. TAKE HIS CLASS

Summer class consisted of three 5-8 page essays and several multiple choice quizzes on the Kite Runner novel. His canvas page is organized in such a way that it takes some getting used to. Read his rubrics thoroughly and the example paper. He wants it done his way by following the rubric. Easy to talk to and provides good feedback on your writing.

Professor Garcia is by far the best Professor Ive ever had. He really wants his student to succeed academically and in life. Hes ready to push the deadline for you if needed. He gives great instructions for essays and makes his classes entertaining. Youll obviously have to put in the work but youll never have a Professor as invested as he is.

Professor Garcia is a great professor. His course consist of reading a book, tests on the book really easy), and writing around 3 essays in the semester. His rubric is vague but if you attend his optional zoom meetings he can explain more in detail and it really helps to know what he is looking for. He really cares and wants you to succeed :)

This class was fairly easy. multiple choice questions for the novel we read and he gave us 3 tries to take it. There are 3 essays to write and a few other assignments that were very useful. I suggest reading the assignments he gives because it is really helpful when writing your own paper.

Professor Garcia class is a bunch or reading but they are usually short stories and poems instead of super long boring books. If you show up to class and the zoom meeting it will help greatly and you will pass with an B or A. If you dont then good luck.

Professor Garcia has a concrete way of writing paper which would make some students uncomfortable. However, I can't count how many times I've stumbled across papers that resemble his structue. I get to change my way of writing thanks to this class. My advice is keep an open mind, try to understand his structure. You can always ask questions.

Professor Garcia gives enough time to complete all assignments and even sometimes accepts late work.

I enjoyed his class. He gave good feedback, his zoom meetings aren't required but I highly recommend them they are very informative for his assignments. The short stories and poems he assigned were great I enjoyed reading them. He is also very flexible and understanding. Just do the reading, attend the zooms, and you'll be just fine.

Took this as an 8-week summer class and while it was challenging, Professor Garcia gives you all the tools you need to be successful. He is clear, you will need to dedicate 10-12 hours per week to the course to achieve a good grade. Excellent feedback is provided and the zoom lectures are fantastic. He puts his heart and soul into teaching!

Professor Garcia made a huge impact on my learning career and was overall an amazing teacher. If you attend his lectures he will grant you much needed information and he's super knowledgeable and willing to help. I highly recommend ENGLM01A with him. He's the best!!!

Professor Garcia is one of the few teachers out there that still truly cares. He will go out of his way to help you if you show that you care. While showing up to zoom is not mandatory, I highly recommend it. When you go to the zoom sessions it allows you to actually get ask questions and often times he will give free advice for the assignments.

Prof Garcia was one of the best professor I've had at Moorpark. He genuinely cares for his students and does his best to work with you. Can be a little restrictive when it came to essay topics but still totally transparent with his expectations. If you do the work and follow the guidelines you will have a great time in his class.

Attending the zoom meetings is the way to go. Ask all the necessary questions you have, not matter how silly they may seem. Follow all the instructions and go over your work many times. I also like how Garcia drops several of the lowest test scores. English M01A is not that hard, Spanish is my first language and I was still able to succeed. :-)

Mario's class was great this semester! I struggled a bit halfway through because of life stuff, but he works with students to help them succeed. Make sure you stay on top of your work. Expect discussions, a few papers, and reading the assigned novel!! If you need help, just ask. Garcia is there to help since he cares.

Honestly, at first, I hated this class, the workload was a lot and very hard to manage at first. But after a month or so I learned how to manage his class and it wasn't too bad. Honestly, he's a pretty easy teacher but still gives good feedback on essays. Just turn in your assignments and you'll at least get a B.

I took Mario Garcia's English M01A 8 week course with hour an a half three days a week. Pretty well organized, not an overload of homework and he adaptable to anything you needed. Participate in discussion, read the assigned novel and correctly format essays it will be an easy A. Criticisms are unclear due dates and class was canceled a few times.

Prof Garcia is by far the best professor I've taken at Moorpark. He is so nice & understanding. There were 3 papers due for my summer course which were all fun & easy to write. He is so flexible and helps out his students greatly. Extends due dates if necessary & overall a great guy. I only needed one book for my class. Definitely recommend!

He was my first professor I was taking my class in the summer my first semester & traveling in a completely diff time zone was worried how i would manage but I just had to keep in check with the time myself and Prof was very supportive He is accommodating with dates and lenient with grades as well Be responsible participate keep up with due dates

This wonderful professor has not only been a good teacher, but he shows care to his students by encouraging us even when assignments were hard to tackle. He gives good feedback and is always there when you have any questions. I took two sections of his online English courses and he makes his online platform easy to follow! Highly recommend!

He provides great feedback to help you and while there is a good amount of reading required, it's expected for an English class. Professor Garcia runs a structured class, but is understanding and flexible. Stay on top of assignments, attend office hours, and use resources like Unstuckstudy to do well. The workload is manageable with effort.
