I always like this professor because he's laid back and while participation is earned by coming to class, the PowerPoints are posted online which makes coming to class an optional for whatever grade you want. Like I said he's laid back and I come from hard graders in english and I thought his grading was loose and easy to please.

Mario is a really great teacher, and it is very easy to do well in his class. Only downside is participation is mandatory, and he will not let class out early, even on a work day.

Professor Kalo made the class interesting and gave good feedback on essays. He posts the lecture slides on the announcements and is very detailed about what is expected on each essay. He also does peer reviews in person, which sometimes I did not like since everyone has their own friend groups and I had a hard time finding a partner.

We only had to write three essays for the semester and that was really our only homework. His class is mostly lectures but it's so easy. Although, I made the mistake of not showing up to class and attendance matters. Go to class, do your essay and you are chillen. Very easy I would take Mr. Kalo again if I could. Pretty easy assignments you only have to do one essay the whole semester which is your final, as long as you show up to class and participate you will definitely pass this class!!

This professor was great, I would definitely recommend him to anyone taking ENG-106. He's good at giving feedback when you go up and ask him during "workshop" days, which are optional but I highly recommend going. His lectures are good and they are fun when he plays short clips from the show "The Office". I enjoyed him and this class.

Dr. Kalo is very good at being specific about what is expected for the essays, and if there is something that is not clear in the instructions he is very good about clarifying any questions. I never felt like I did not understand the material or the criteria I needed to meet for assignments.

Its not a hard class if you show up. Since its based on only three papers, attendance matters. Lectures are very informative, and explain everything really well. Mr. Kalo was a super nice guy and very easy to talk to. With only three main papers making up around 50% of your grade, each paper matters a lot. But the prompts for the papers are fairly easy and he gives you plenty of time to get each one done.

This class was pretty good for being an English writing class. You can do well on the papers by paying attention during the lecture and using the slides while writing.

Overall Professor Kalo was a calm teacher and was very easy to talk to. He did care a lot about students attending class and staying there for about the full time or whenever he dismissed the class. He was very PowerPoint lecturer-heavy so be ready to look at many powerpoint slides that lowkey say the same thing over and over.

Amazing professor! He was very helpful when questions were brought up. He made class fun with jokes and never had a dull moment. He worked with you when you asked if there were things you could do to help fix your grade. I did not turn in an essay and he worked out a what to help me out. As long as you turn in your assignments you should pass.

Only complaint is that he finished lectures within 45 minutes but would require students to stay in class nearly the full period to work on homework.
