Class is very involved and alot of group interaction...tests are difficult but she offers many extra credit opportunities and curves final grade...I got an A and would recommend her

easy, alot of group work, daily quizes but she goes over the material first in class, daily reading not alot, but deffinatly enough, very easy, 1/2 test questions given ahead of time i would deffinatly reccomend! VERY nice lady

So much busy work it gets annoying. The class has way to much group work. Theres a midterm and a final that are take home but so detailed. Every class you get in your assigned group and take a quiz. Theres 1-2 presentations. You have about 10 outlines and 10 reaction papers. Alot of annoying things!

I REALLY enjoyed the class!

She's nice and tries to keep things interesting, but expects way too much for an intro class. Tests contain way too much content for anyone to keep track of, and no help is given when taking them. You've essentially got to memorize every obscure fact in the already dull book to pass. Relies WAY too much on PowerPoint lecture as well. I would avoid.

Extremely good teacher.

I liked her a lot and she makes class interesting. The content was a little complicated but review the previous quizzes that are posted online and you'll pass just fine. SHe was fun and cool and I would recommend her.

She's a lot of fun, never boring. She tells you exactly what you need for the tests/quizzes. Almost everything you need to pass the tests is in her lectures/slide shows, so pay attention if you don't want to have to read the book. The group projects are easy, about twenty minutes of work each. It's not hard to stay on top of things for her class.

Awesome. She is the best teacher you can take. She is very cool and laid back and understands college students. She keeps you awake and interested, if you are not taking a quiz she will let you go home. Tests are a bit difficult but overall its an easy grade i highly reccomend her.

Pretty easy class, quizes are group, you can skip every single class and just get online notes and pass, however there are some in class assignments and she tends to assign extra credit and projects in class.

She's crazy and you can get over 100 extra credit points. You can suck on every test and still pass with a B. Reminds me of my old High School English teacher who had 130/100 quizes and tests. Take her if you want a class to slack off in.

Plenty extra credits given, so if done there shouldnt be an excuse not to get a good grade.Reviews, flyers are all vista based.Cool professor- i would definetly recommend joining her class!

Very easy.. Don't need to go to class.. Everything is online and it's an easy A .. Lots of extra credit and the lowest everything is dropped

nice person, seems interested in subject. Do all the extra credit possible and it will improve your grade a lot; would definitely recommend to take.

The class was hard and she really wanted us to get involved with the subject (which means WORK). But, I have to say I look at the world differently now. Unlike a lot of classes, I think I will remember stuff from this class 25 years from now.

I liked the class and the teacher. She made the topics seem relevant by relating them to real life and telling stories.

Professor Mealy was one of my favorite proffessors. She's very fun and spunky, and has no problem keeping class interesting. I learned a lot and love the lecture hall format of class. She shows a lot of Youtube video's which also keeps class interesting. My only advice is to DO THE ONLINE WORK. If you don't there's no way to pass the class.

So far the class has really opened my eyes to things I never thought about before. The in class films are a good addition.

She is very nice and very helpful if you go to her with questions. The notes are online, but class is still mandatory to do well as not everything you need to know is in the notes. Overall, I love this class. However, so far, being under 18 the experimental credit seems impossible.

She's really nice and funny. Makes the class much easier to stay focused on. I had a class with her in a stadium, which made her less approachable. Group tests, final wasn't cumulative. No homework, but a few group projects that were minor. Take good notes and you'll be fine. Recommended.

Do not forget to do reviews online. There is always one there. Don't miss them. Read the chapters. Go to class. She's fun and nice, but the class is tougher than it really seems.

dont listen to the criticm below me. this class is a breeze. all the quizzes are online (just remember to take them b/c there arent reminders), all the tests are group and she posts the powerpoints online. she drops a lot of ur low grades and offers SOO much extra credit. i ended up with 117% at the end of the semester because of extra credit EASY!

THE BEST. got an A and im not a real dedicated student. she was funny and cared about the students (even in a class of 200). tons of extra credit and group tests. just DO THE ONLINE WORK. its all open book and you can retake it like 3 times. BEST CLASS. i dont even like psych, but i really lucked out by taking her. easy A if you do the online work.

easy teacher. alot of online work.. all open book. tons of extra credit. get to work in groups on every test but the final. which is really simple. just keep up with online reviews. drops most of low grades. definitely take if your looking for an easy A

You must do all of your work! Genuinely interested in students learning information taught. She does an excellent job applying psychological theory to the "real world." Extremely approachable and willing to work with students. Highly recommended!!!

There were RIDICULOUS amounts of extra credit.. including the reviews online and if you were willing to do extra studies. The tests were scratch off. First try you get 2 points.. next try you get 1. She seems a little disorganized. She was late to every test but she gave the class extra credit because of that. Easy easy class.

She was very cool. Everything on the test was on the notes, which were online. If you studied, you'd do well. She put up a practice test for extra credit online before every test, and after you take it you got the answers. If you studied those, you'd know what's on the test. She gave a lot of extra credit and she was funny and always happy.

Cross Cultural with Professor Mealy is interesting. You must do the reading, quizzes every week in groups. 4 papers total on readings and 'immersion' exercises, then a project & powerpoint, and a final exam. She says its not as bad as it seems ,but it is quite a lot of work even if the papers are easy. The project is time consuming.

Very smart! Flighty and cool so if you prefer a rigid structure, you may be frustrated. Lots of extra credit and group discussions. Trusts student insight and isn't just a talking head. Pulls info from you and introduces you to culture in many fascinating ways. Great teacher.

Makes me look at the world differently.

Teaches wayy more information than is needed, questions are extremely tricky and the structure of the class is really confusing and annoying at times. However, she is a really nice, understanding lady and if you do the readings and assignments then you will do fine. I thought i would do poorly but ended up with an A! Its annoying but take her

Down to earth but professional. Lectures may appear "scattered" but culture isn't static. Approachable and friendly, but this doesn't mean a free pass if assignment deadlines are ignored. Be sure to compare cultures to Hofstede, Hall, and Kluckhohn&Strodtbeck in your outlines (can use them during exams) and it's an easy class.

Dr. Mealy is a great professor. She is down to Earth and very friendly as previous comments mention. I rarely leave comments on this site but I feel it necessary that I let people who use this site know that you should take PSYCH 350 and Dr. Mealy. She gave me an interest in the class and different outlook on different cultures and people.

I'm not sure why people gave Mealy average ratings. She's an awesome professor, makes class really fun, every week is consistent, you have weekly readings that you do outlines on that you get to use on the midterm and final! I got an A in this class, very easy if you do the work.

It was a really great class and the exams we were a little tough but she gives a lot of extra credit which usually help to pass the class with an A. The quizzes are not bad if you read or listen to her lectures. She gives real life experience and a lot of activities in class for students to understand the material

One of the greatest professors I've had. The tests are a little hard but she makes her lectures interesting so you pay attention. She gives a ton of extra credit so it's easy to keep your grade up. She's super nice and kinda goofy which makes it fun. I would definitely recommend this class and professor!!!

Great professor overall. Even in a big lecture she's still on top of everything, and always looking to help the student. She's very nice and gives a fair amount of extra credit. Hard to fail this class.

Professor Mealy's lectures are great and interesting. Makes information as easy as possible to understand. Tests are easy and straightforward if you have attended class and done assigned chapter reading. Exams are scratch off method. She offers an extra credit review before each exam. Great way to add points to your exam. Very approachable for help

As an international student professor Marisa was one of the clearest and greatest professor that i have ever been with. She is so helpful and she make us enjoy her lectures. I would take her again. Also, don't buy the book i never use it.

She gives a lot of extra credit opportunities including sona, and online extra credit before each exam , which also helps you prepare for the exam. with exact questions from the exams. She assigns four exams and a final. She provides fair questions on the exams, but some material you may need to read from the book(which she puts on reserve)

Professor Mealy is a good professor. She's very lively and shes really into the subject. She gives a lot of in class reviews and expects you to put in a lot of work outside of class with the readings, but she also gives a lot of extra credit and doesn't give any homework. You can easily walk away with at least an A or B in this class.

Very Very easy professor. She gives enough extra credit that you could easily fail every test in the course and walk away with an A+. She wrote the textbook and it was completely not worth buying. She tells you all the answers for material on tests, despite the fact she says material in the chapters will be on her exams. (JUST DONT BUY IT).

Easy A if you put in some work. 4 exams but drops the lowest one and a lot of extra credit (Extra credit test reviews, SONA, and other points). Attendance is mandatory as required test reviews are unannounced and can't be made up; there's one the day you finish a chapter. Exact exam questions can come from the mandatory and extra credit reviews

She is so funny. The class is based on power points/ and notes. Not so much book stuff. Class is only mandatory because she does reviews (you're in a group) that you cannot make up and you never know when they will be . Her exams are exactly what the reviews are. The day before the exam she gives online extra credit reviews. Do them.

She's a really nice person who seems to really care about the subject and wants to make sure her students know what they're talking about. Somehow in class with over 200 students in it, she takes time to write personal notes twice a semester with info on how to improve your grade. She also does extra credit reviews before tests which help a lot

This class was a breeze. Scratch off answer keys are ridiculously easy. You scratch off the answer you think it is, and if you get it wrong, she gives you a second try for half credit. You do reviews in groups, then extra credit for exams are basically the same questions, and then the exams are the same questions as both. min efforteasy A.

Honestly, she was my favorite class to take. though it was a class 200. She grades fair and if pay attention in class and follow the power points you''l be fine. PAY ATTENTION TO THE REVIEWS! They will help on the test BIG TIME. It is an easy A class if you do.

One of my favorite professors! Mealy is funny and entertaining. For me this was a 3 hour class, but she makes it go by very fast. There is a lot of reading, but you'd be surprised how much you don't hate it. Very interesting content.

She is the best teacher I have ever come across. Not only is she humorous and kind but she is informative and actually knows what she is doing. If you want a teacher who helps you when you need jt and encourages learning then she is perfect for you. 10/10 would recommend

She is a really fun and cool professor. She really wants students to know what shes teaching. Content was interesting, powerpoints are online and come from the textbook. There are test reviews that you do in groups so make sure to go over what she taught you in the last class before. Gives extra credit every time before an exam and it really helps

Best. Teacher. Ever,. She makes a lot of jokes and is a great person. I wish she could teach all my classes. Currently I have a C, tests are a bit hard, but I would take her again even if I had an F. You can tell she loves teaching and takes the time to talk to every student. 10/10

Pretty good professor. Attendance isn't necessary but helps a lot. She is pretty talkative and makes jokes that are pretty cringe worthy sometimes but she is a super nice person. Gives reviews at the end of some classes that are basically group tests on the lecture. Tests are also pretty easy, all multiple choice with two chances per question.

Prof. Mealy is very clear as to what she expects. She tells you want she expects and tells you how to get it done, but she leaves this to be your responsibility. You determine whether to fail or pass. She is a great professor and this was a great class, would recommend.

DON'T BUY THE TEXTBOOK- it's overpriced and unnecessary.

Best Professor I've had so far. As long as you study a lot for the exams you will pass. Attendance isn't mandatory but there are group quizzes that will really help you for the exams and if you are not there you will not get credit for them. Easiest part is the SONA credits and you'll receive extra credit when you do more then you need.

Gives a lot of extra credit.

During the summer semester, a lot of things happened in a short amount of time. She was willing to work with me, and gave me more time on my assignments. Her class was not to hard, just a lot of memorization that can be tough. For her cross cultural class, make sure you read the articles closely and take good notes, as this is most of the exams

Mealy is THE BEST psyc professor Ive had so far. Shes really good at explaining the material, lectures are fun, interesting and interactive. Shes kinda dorky and can be a little cringy sometimes, but shes the sweetest. Great personality, nice, humble lady. Love her. 10/10

Professor Mealy was amazing. I took her online class and she made everything so easy to follow. Overall the lectures she would post weekly was actually interesting and she would break things down in the simplest form. I would definitely take her again.

Syllabus seems overwhelming at first, but great set up with outlines due on readings she provides (no paying for a book), followed by lectures/films, ending the week with group discussion activities. All set you up so nicely for the exams that may not be the easiest but are successful if studied for. Amazing professor and great class!

Great professor! Made the class fun and interactive. I took her Cross Cultural Class. You will need to read a chapter on a culture each week. You will need to take notes on that chapter each week on it which she calls an outline. There is review quizzes due each week. There is also a team discussion due each week. Lots of work but an awesome class.

I took cross-cultural psychology with her. It was by far my absolute favorite class I have taken in college. You learn SO much from this class. It is so interesting. It's a real talent to make a 3 hour class something fun. She shows a lot of movies and they are actually really good. Make sure you pay attention because they will be on the exams.

Professor Mealy is a good professor, she is easy to get along with but this class was way too much work. For someone taking 6 classes and kids at home, it was too much weakly assignments for one class. Overall, a very interesting class but the content can be condensed .

Best professor I have had in a while. She somehow kept me engaged through lectures in a lecture hall with 100 people. Very reasonable amount of work and accessible through email if there's ever an issue. She includes videos and personal stories that help you think critically about what you're learning.

Dr. Mealy is reasonable and bleeds passion for her subject. Students must complete an outline from provided reading each week. Each reading 15-25 pages, and takes ~2hrs to finish. There are two exams and a project, all of which are easy if you do the work. Would highly recommend this class to learn more about non-western cultures.

Participation matters!! If you attend the lectures and listen you won't need to study a lot, the in-class reviews and tests will be easy. Plus she's an enthusiastic lady so if you go to class you won't be bored. Even if you do mess up, the lowest test gets dropped and theres lots of extra credit.

I loved professor Mealy! She is so good at making her lectures engaging and memorable. She provides clear instructions on what to do and if you take good notes and do the extra credit (which I definitely recommend doing if you have the time) you will be sure to get a good grade in her class. The reviews are a bit hard though.

I loved her! I'm a Bio major. My biggest fear coming was that I was goin to fail psych but I passed. Extra credit was 80+ questions. Reviews and extra credits are back to back but make sure to take them. I was surprised lot of people didn't take them. Just pay attention and do reviews, extra credits and exams. You'll be fine. She's the best.

There is a lot of reading, and it will be time consuming, but it's doable. Dr. Mealy is pretty laid back, but definitely a tough grader. Make sure you double, triple, quadruple check your work. She's willing to answer any questions and set up meeting times if needed.

Very good lectures, She is very admin about people not talking over her. but she's clear about her criteria.

Dr. Mealy always comes with energy and does her best to make class interesting (which is very appreciated). If you need a psych credit I would totally take her class again. Despite the large lecture style of the class I'm in she's very good at responding with care to any student who has a question. Great class.

Mealy is very understanding and funny, and will work with you personally if you are having trouble. Tests and exams for my class were strictly online. She does do surprise in-class group reviews after lectures that cannot be made up, so attendance is important if you want a good grade. While a textbook was required, I only used it once or twice.

Easy class, all tests and the final are online. Lectures are pointless to listen to. Would recommend to take this class for easy credit and an easy A as long as you complete all of the assignments!

SO FUN. All the tests were onlune and the answers were easily found on like quizlet. Super cool professor, she put memes in her lectures. GET OFF YOUR PHONE or she will call you out.

All her lectures are interesting, a good amount of reading and work, but easy to manage. Tests are a little harder, but grade isn't too test heavy, so not much to worry about there. Everything is clear on the syllabus and grades are fair. Just participate, stay on top of your readings, and study, and you'll do great in the course!

This professor is great, but this class is only grades exams and quiz reviews only excluding the sona credits. It's best to have friends or a study group for this class bc she loves to go fast through her slides and not rlly go over next class. There are 4 exam and one final exam, so u are constantly studying unless u already know the chapters

Very interactive, trendy, and relatable, she never makes the class feel bored or uncomfortable. However, if you skip a day, you're going to be behind. A lot to absorb, so make sure you study. Group assignment after most lectures, and after that, a quiz. Be on top of your work, and you will pass with ease.
