Dobre is the worst professor I have had. His teaching style is poor. He is never ever clear on what will be on the exam. He leaves everything so broad in the sense that you must know every single thing. He often gets off topic. I do not like him and would never have him as a professor again. Try getting a different professor for this course.

Beware of his teaching style. He wants to make you believe that his like you to write in point form in the exam. However, he wants you to write as many as you can. He rate by quantity not quality.

He's engaging and funny when you first meet him. Once you start getting assignments and tests back, you understand the bad reviews. The course is basically a Baby Boomer trying to teach social media to a demographic who grew up with social media. Just take that in and you'll understand the problematic premise of this course... and him.

Worst professor I have ever had, he uses up basically all 3 hours for his lectures and spends the first 15 minutes of each class ranting about hard work and studying to the class like we're all little kids. Ironically he's incredibly lazy, has no ambition to assist his students when they need help. Not enough characters to explain how bad he is.

The 3.2 rating (thus far) is pretty misleading. Took him only because the reviews seemed okay, and brushed off the bad reviews. The bad reviews are a pretty accurate representation of what you will face with him. Take him at your own discretion, but I would put a pretty heavy weight on the bad reviews here before you decide to enroll with him.

Comes off as funny and caring at first. But he will fail your group project unless youre one of those people that goes to seek help every week. Hes one of those profs that likes to feel important by giving guidance to students and keeps mental notes of groups that do. Midterms straight from the text but worth much less relative to the project

I took 2511 with him and he is horrible. He is a sessional (part time) prof and does not care about students education. He often side tracks to tell personal stories and likes to give alot of irrelevant opinions that you just don't understand what he is even trying to say. York needs to hire full time faculty. Course has alot of reading.

Studied chapters on my own and still learned more than going to any lecture. Straight-up talks about whatever personal story he has and derails the whole lecture

Professor Dobre provides short lectures with not much in depth explanation and talks about personal stories which does not help prepare the students for the mid-term. He also had a very heated emotional outburst today in class because a student asked a question he anwsered in a previous class.

Terrible professor. He constantly degrades his students and refuses to listen to any feedback. He thinks he's above everyone and purposely tries to screw over his class. His teaching is mediocre but if he wasn't just such a terrible guy in general, his classes would be more bearable.

Dreadfully monotonous and lecture-heavy. Does not seem to care for the concerns of the students even if there is unanimous discontent. Obsesses with formalities and stresses overly-professional behaviour (which is ironic because assignments and rubrics have frequent grammatical errors). World is changing; get with the times.

Very monotone prof. His presentations are extremely bland and could have been made over a decade ago based on the quality of the 2010 PowerPoint. Also has a narcissistic side, and struggles immensely with admitting that something he said defiantly and confidently previously he was wrong about. Will constantly state "With my 30 years of experience".

Drones on in his lectures expects you to ask for help otherwise he wont care about u gives a lot of importance on a group project worth 40% of ur grade cant decide if he wants to teach in person or online exams are too heavy not very accessible for help after class

This professor was unreasonable when it came to assignments and grading. He made us complete THREE group assignments with the same group. The assignments made up 40% of our grade and he expected us to write each 6-page paper with our group. You think we would have full control over our grade since we pay for the course.

If there was an option to rate this professor a 0 I would have given him a 0. This prof is very rude he doesn't care about anyone but himself. He will not give you a good grade on assignments unless you ask him questions. He is very sexist. He shouldn't even be a prof idk why York hired him. do not take this prof. Lots of group work and tough grader.

Don't take this class if you can. His comments are useless for test reviews and group work. He gives bad marks and doesn't explain why. He prefers to talk about himself throughout the whole lecture instead of teaching. The best part is he's aware, he reads all the review on RMP but he refuses to change because he's very arrogant.

He is actually the WORST and I hope he see's this because he genuinely acts like he cares about students but constantly makes mistakes and assumption and later blames the student. He doesn't clarify things when it comes to your grade or assignments and he was very disrespectful when I emailed him asking for clarification on something.

Avoid this professor at all costs. This is hands down the worst class I have ever had because of him. He is completely unreasonable, does not listen to anyone else's opinion, is rude and argumentative. Be prepared to lose marks on assignments for ridiculous reasons that were not mentioned in class, on rubrics, etc. Do not take a class with him.

Don't waste your money to take his class even if it is mandatory class. He doesn't know how to respect his students; at the same time, he will ask you to respect him. He wont provide any profitable answer to you, and you can only follow his answer not textbook. He will be annoyed if you keep having any confusion from his explanation of WRONG answer

Avoid courses with Marius Dobre; he's possibly the worst prof I've encountered. OMIS6750 with him was regrettable. Easy marks in discussion (10% of grade), but assignments were a nightmare. He's condescending and arrogant when approached with questions, making students feel inadequate.

All the reviews about being helpful, complete and utter BS he wants you to fail. Even if you study for his tests you will be lost because he uses grammatical errors and does not know how to format a simple test. He enjoys fkin over his students, and should really be fired as professor since his teaching does NOT translate into project management

All his positive reviews are fake, no one likes this man. and when he is gone he wont be remembered in a good way. If he is such a good project manager and thinks so highly of himself he wouldn't be teaching courses he cant teach properly.

He enjoys yelling at women, for things such as taking pictures to assert his dominance. Cant teach properly so instead when people decide to take pictures of his scribble to make sense of it he acts like a man-child. This is just the tip of the iceberg.

He reads off the slides but then tells you to read through the textbook for his exams. WHY NOT TEACH FROM THE TEXTBOOK THEN? His exams are insane too. His midterm was 80 mcq while his final was 100 mcq. BOTH EXAMS WERE FOR 90 MINUTES. The questions weren't easy either, there were so many PARAGRAPH questions tht required heavy thinking. Avoid him.

I did not like him at all. His lectures were long and boring and all he did was read off like 70+ slides. He midterm and exam sucked too most questions came from the textbook which he never used but always said to use? Also he would give more questions then time. I had 100 MC in 90 mins AND they were like paragraphs long so it took forever.
