He is willing to go all out with pictograms on the board to try to help you understand the subject.
Dr P Was verry helpfull if asked allways provided detailed instruction, tested what he taught not necessarly the book has extra credit prog. you get what you put into this class!
Dr. Pfeiffer is the epitome of what a professor should be. He enjoys and KNOWS his subject matter and is always prepared. He is helpful and friendly and easy to talk to. His exams are comprehensive and give you (the student) the option of just getting by or to excel by being prepared for the material. Highly recommended.
Offers extra credit. Tends to ramble during lecture about things not covered on the test. Very busy and hard to catch during his office hours
Dr. Pfeiffer is one of the best professors I have had in all my college days. Extremely knowledgeable of subject matter. Tests are easy A's if you come prepared! Pfeiffer has a genuine interest in the subject and his excitement radiates to make you interested - it definitely helps when the professor is enthusiastic about what they are teaching!
When he lectures, you can feel his energy about the subject which is nice. He tends to ramble on and on though. Some people love the way he teaches, while others say they can't understand a word he says. As for his tests, he is not out there to make you fail. As long as you know your stuff, this class should be an easy A.
this guy was ridiculous, i only had him for lab but he expected so much out of his students for barely teaching anything. his tests are absurd, i spent literally 2 weeks studying and still managed to get a D on a test, he's hard to understand and had this weird lisp sort of thing going on
This is an excellent class if you're looking to not only learn something but to be able to feel like the professor really cares and is ready and willing to help. I found his energy to be addictive, and I've wanted to take him for other classes since then. Highly recommended!
His tests were hard to study for, but if you have questions, he will answer them. Doesn't review much. Talks on and on
Dr. Pfeiffer is a very good teacher. He knows A&P extensively and does a great job of explaining information in an easy to understand method. To make an A, you must study, you must read the book, and you must attend class. It is that simple. He also gives 10 pt bonus essays on every exam and they help tremendously. Very good teacher.
I barely got a "B" in A&PI, and I was a nervous wreck afterwards. I switched to professor Pfeiffer for A&PII and did much better and was actually able to relax and enjoy the class.
If you show up and pay attention, you will do well. He tells you exactly what is on the tests.
Great instructor. The material I learned in his class helped me make an A in a tough nursing class (where most of the students are struggling just to pass). His tests are not easy, but he gives opportunities for extra credit on the exams.
Great professor! Anatomy is a hard course but he lectures very well and is very helpful if you have questions. Gives you essay qustions before the exam so you know what to write!
Pfeiffer is very nice, energetic, and great at explaining complex ideas. Tests are easy if you read all of the material, and prewrite the essay questions he gives you beforehand. Good study, and time management skills are very, very important for success in A&P 1. Sign up for his class!!!
I thought he was a great teacher. It was hard in the beginning, but I got used to it. I did have a crush on him, only cause smart people attract me. But he did do a wonderful job teaching the class, and making sure we knew whats going on.
HE was kind of tough.Know the book in detail in order to do well in the class. His essay questions are tough, and take the whole page to answer. He's a good instructor, but I didn't think he was very approachable. He rushed through the last few chapters because he was behind schedule, and we had to take our tests back to back because of this.
HE'S ALRIGHT
feel bad for him. he know alot of information concerning biology but he just dont know how to break it down to us. Subject is hard enough n this guy is not helpin. im being surrounded by people who is taking this course multiple times. meanin if you want to go in your field, be prepare to work 4 it
Hes higly not recommended. Its very hard to get him to explain things for you if you need him to.
Hes highly not recommended. Its very hard to get him to explain things to you if you need him to.
I had Dr.Pfeiffer for s.majors I and thought he was great...but hard, he knows the material very well. His ability to explain topics and his great drawings were very helpful. We did do more work than other majors classes and he wont "give" you anything...but he is very fair and willing to help. bottom line- if you want to LEARN the material he is y
He seems to be a good teacher, but I would never be prepared for tests! Stuff he emphasized wouldn't be on the test, but stuff he didn't would. Study EVERYTHING. Quizzes are hard! At beginning of each lab, they are 5 Q from previous lab, 5 Q over next lab. I recommend taking someone else, I know I will when i retake the class!
he is a fair and patient professor. i found myself in his office all the time and he was always there to help. yes, the course is difficult but if you put in the effort, you we be fine (atleast end up with a B) he will explain and draw on the board until you understand. he's got a bad rap, i think cause people dont want to work hard for the grade
this teacher is very hard..do not take him unless you are very prepared for it. you are going to realize that you spend more time studying for this class that you barely have time to study for others.i ended up with a B in the class though and i worked very hard for it
You will have to study hard for this class. He is a very smart person and you will learn. This class was like a marathon with only the strong surviving.
If this class were offered on the internet I'd be taking it. Feels like im teaching my self and all he is doing is repeating it back to me in a confusiing complicated way. He wants to add new ways of breaking the information down instead of "ëlementery" ways but for people who new to this class needs to learn this information elementary like.
ok so i wrote a not so good review on this guy but ALL HONESTY! He only gives test on the material in the book and what on that quizes. his essays may be hard but its all fair game. I made a d on my first test but so did 17 other people so dont get discourage just study at leat 20 hours a week and you should pass with colors
Taking him at UTA for env. systems. He does not have office hours. His tests are hard to understand and difficult. He has study guides but they are broad and have way too much info on them to know. Honestly, one of the worst professors i've ever had. (he himself has written some of the good ratings on here, so don't be fooled. dont take this class)
Taking Pfeiffer currently @ UTA in Environmental Sys. He wants us to know WAY TOO MUCH INFO for a nonmajors course. It's hard for him to come down to our level and teach us in common english; he pretty much speaks like he's reading straight from the book itself. confusing. only 4 tests and the Q's are difficult to comprehend. DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS
I did review this prof before signing up for s class and now having to drop it. He teaches mostly gradutate classes so he expects every student to be on that level, doesn't matter if this is your first semester in college. Not to mention he uses very fancy English language. Unless you have no other choice then I would not recommend taking him.
He is an amazing teacher!!! But don't think you will get a grade...he is very difficult!!!
Exellent professor. Exams are TOUGH, but homework and extra credit can definitely boost your grade. Make sure you have a firm grasp of the English language- he is quite verbose and intelligent, which can leave some people feeling alienated. Has tons of energy. I don't know what he is taking, but I need some of whatever it is.
Dr. Pfeiffer is an outstanding professor. He is very knowledgeable about A/P. He is very fair and gives you the essay questions that will be on the exams prior to the exams. I would definitely recommend him.
took him for ap 1 lab. mostly self taught. He lectured for a little bit then "gave" the rest of time to do what we needed.. It was very hard to comprehend on our own and we were a little lost. Will help with questions during lab, but not very understanding with grade questions.. spoke as if I was dumb at times.. Not suggested to take him.
He is a tough. You can make an A with hard work. Go to class and pay attention. His test material comes mostly from class. He will help you understand but only if you ask intelligent questions. Don't expect to take a test and rely on recognition you will have to truly know the material.
Hard but knows his stuff, lets you ask questions and he is in office when he posts it, would take him again.
He just rambles and rambles, his notes are not clear. He is very hard.
He is a good professor who can be rigid at times, but very lenient at others. I took him for both AP 1 and 2 and did well. You will have to study all the time, but he is better than most if not all of the other AP professors out there.
Ridiculous hard- and I've been through college already, so I know hard from challenging. He expects you to know WAY beyond what you need to, and it's too much for your brain! I attended EVERY class and lab, studied, and I barely made a C. Re-took it from someone else and got an A- and remembered what I learned- and no, not because I took it twice!
Dr. Pfeiffer is HANDS DOWN the best science teacher I've had. He knows his stuff, he is enthusiastic about it, and his energy is contagious. I wish I could have taken more classes from him.
He is very enthusiastic and provides an outline and examples of test questions, he will then follow the outline and go over questions. Extra credit is offered. He is available to speak to in his office too. He hates it when you leave during class so watch it! I liked him, would take him again
Ridiculously hard. Very much a university mentality at a community college level. ONE Chance for extra credit sounds appealing but is so hard its not worth it. MUST attend EVERY class. Talks over your head, expects and even thrives on failure. Not at all approachable, very cold. Started my 4th sem w/a 4.0 now a 3.68 all cuz of this class.
Hands down my favorite teacher for any subject I've ever had. The man is brilliant and almost too enthusiastic! He loves what he does and it shows. He is a challenge though so you have to keep up.
Amazing professor, knows his stuff and was very willing to help. Had him for BIO 1 for Science Majors. So helpful he wrote me a recommendation to apply for a specific program. Must study and definitely not a class for slackers who want an easy A. Your grade reflects your effort.
I was really looking forward to this class until I had him as my professor. He gave a huge project and you had to outline every chapter that counts for ten points on your test grade. This was a summer course the project was cut in half a week before the last day of class because it was a impossible task. All the tests had multiple errors he would p
He is a great teacher. Not easy...but if you are majoring in science you need to know the material. I loved his class as well as his high standards. This class changed my life.
He's an interesting guy that makes class fun and a lot easier to handle. Bio at TCC NE is one of the hardest subjects I've faced and I've been to 3 other universities taking bio classes. He gets so excited about biology. I cant remember the last time I had a prof that enjoyed teaching undergrads. He is a once in a lifetime professor.
this class was pretty intense... we had a tree of life project in addition to the regular stuff... he moves really fast so be sure you can put in the work. he is awesome though and I loved this class.
online class so annoying! He doesnt go over tests! He is scatterbrained and unorganized! Doesnt know how to post things on time and labs themselves are last minute and scattered. And TOO MUCH HW! for one week!!if you take this class IT WILL CAUSE NOTHING BUT GRIEF!
I took Enviro. Sys. from him last semester. It was overwhelming at first as it was my first semester back after a long break. Once I realized it wasn't a slacker class and I actually had to pay attention it was really interesting. He is passionate about it & he really wanted us to know the material, not just regurgitate info. I learned a lot.
Horrible. Just horrible. Didn't go by the book, the material on the test was nothing from what we learned in lecture. Gave tons of homework. Had a test back to back for the last three weeks. Was very unorganized. If your planning to take him, be prepared to study alllll night long, im being serious.
Enthusiastic about what he teaches, but he got so excited he spent the majority of class focused on one section of the chapter, but expected you to know the whole chapter for tests. very vague power points that he uses in class only and he miss speaks all the time making it hard to know what's right. Extremely difficult, do not recommend for anyone.
This professor is very smart and he knows his material, but he expects you to KNOW everything about every chapter after one class session. This class was hard and I am an A+ student. His tests do NOT follow the book, and he will teach one thing and the book says another. I suggest taking another professor. A&P is not that hard, but his class is!
Does not follow the book at all.Expects you to know all the material, and does not follow his own study guidelines. Expect the unexpected with Test.GOOD LUCK!!!
Do not take his class if you are trying to learn anything. He is very sweet, and he is passionate about his practice, but he is just not a good teacher. All of his tests are VERY hard, and most of the questions are trick questions to material he briefly covers.
This guy is mad scientist, so if you want to hang with the big dogs, this is the class for you. It was hard, but I learned SO MUCH. This is for people who love the sciences, not for those who want to scrape by. Respect is earned in that class.
It's intense, but if you're a science person, this is where you need to be.
Pfeiffer is very thorough I guess you could say, but it the best way. It is not hard, but very time consuming. You MUST read and it is better to read before coming to class so you can follow along. He gives extra information, which some might find daunting or just too much, but you learn so much more. He is a great professor. I am learning a lot!
I took him for lab and if I'm not mistaken he is the head of the department on NE campus. He is very passionate about biology and he is a bit eccentric. Sometimes I feel he's a bit disorganized and really hard grader. I do feel though that if he sees you putting forth effort he will work with you to help you succeed. He's a nice guy overall though.
Dr. Pfeiffer is the head of TCC NE's Science department, and it shows. He's extremely passionate about his profession, and if you are too I think you will do fine in class. Homework is given online which follow into later exams. Lectures can be hard to keep up with, though, if you have trouble with Biology. Very fast paced. Cautious recommendation.
Dr. Pfeiffer is an amazing professor! If you are passionate about bio, he's the one to take! Super easy grader and the classes are super interesting. He has that mad scientist thing going for him. You'll love him, I know I did!
Awesome guy, very interesting lectures. I learned a lot. Super hard short answer tests. If you wanna go into biology take him. Everyday blew my mind.
Dr. Pfeiffer seems to genuinely care for his students and likes to see them succeed.
Lecture-I loved Dr. Pfeiffer! He truly LOVES what he does! At first it was very difficult too keep up with him, but by the end I couldn't have asked for a better teacher. I'm sitting at maybe a B right now, and I accept that even though I have a 4.0. B/c I worked so hard, and learned so much! You will learn! But it is work it! :)
Lab- Wow! I am so glad it Is over! Northeast, does research projects for all there biology labs, beware these are group projects. He did a good job of evaluating work ethic, but overall that Lab is very tough, because of the syllabus you have to cover. The teacher is fantastic though, If you like biology you will appreciate him!
My favorite professor by far. The man is brilliant and corky. I laughed everyday in his class! He expects allot. I averaged 4-8 hours of just homework a week. If he sees you interacting and working hard, he is more than willing to jump through hoops to help you succeed. He saved my grade twice!
I really liked Dr. Pfeiffer. He's an excellent lecturer, that really tries to make sure that everyone understands the material. His tests aren't easy, but he is fair. There is a lot of long online homework to do though. As much as I hated it, it did help with the material. I would definitely recommend him as a professor.
Took him for a summer lab, i had to retake the class for a better grade as the different teacher I chose the first time was very strict. Very understanding, one of my lab partners made our poster, didn't share with Anyone and didn't show up at the poster presentation. leaving us hanging , he allowed us to submit it late. Would take again.
Dr. Pfiffer is the HARDEST teacher you could possibly take at TCC for biology. He goes so fast, and if you're not as fast it's easy to get left behind. I studied day and night, and still had a very hard time with this class. He expects you to know EVERYTHING from the book. His pop quizzes are so hard just as hard as the exams. Stay away!!
Took 1406 Majors bio... Come on people... he's supposed to be tough! He's upfront on day one in his class that it's a lot of reading and being knowledgeable over the material. He is a very fair grader and has worked with each student to help us succeed. I absolutely enjoyed his class. He really made me work hard for my grade which i enjoyed.
Had Pfeiffer for A&P I Lab. Super high energy and very genuine. Learned more from him once a week than from my lecture prof 3x a week. He goes fast, but will talk to students in small groups during lab to make sure you get it. The lab exams are very difficult but he will help you if you ask. Lab is the hardest part at northeast but he helps a lot.
In the beginning, I wasn't so sure about him, but by the end I was sad to say bye. He talks quickly and we warmly referred to him as a "mad scientist". Fun guy and very knowledgeable. Get used to the fact that the lab midterm and final will make you want to rip your hair out no matter what professor. That's your reality. Definitely take him!
Professor Pfeiffer is very very intelligent and he knows a lot of cool stuff and seems to really enjoy teaching others about Anatomy and Physiology. Lab for this class is going to be hard no matter who you take. Pfeiffer takes the time to teach you and doesn't just make you learn on your own. He makes jokes often too to lighten mood of lab!
Incredible teacher, very well spoken, great at explaining complex topics with ease. I took Bio 1 and 2 with Dr. Pfeiffer. You will be doing a lot of homework and studying for this class, but if you are on the path towards a degree in the sciences I couldn't recommend a better choice. This is a class for those with a passion to learn.
For biol 1406 he was good. The subjects covered are more narrow (cytology, cellular respiration, etc) so studying was more direct. Biol 1407 is broad (botany, evolution). He did not cover topics on the exam, no study guide, full 80% of the class dropped. He doesn't grade papers timely. The NE campus has group research projects that never go well
He is a good caring teacher. He loves biology. He helps students as much as he can.
For lecture he gives a lot of homework and he only goes by whats on his study guides. YOU MUST READ THE TEXTBOOK. Hes an overall hard grader and there are a lot of papers in lab and a lot of quizzes in both lab and lecture. He also is terrible at grading things on time.
He literally never graded papers on time. Hes not lienent on anything, if its not up to his standard or how he thinks, he will fail you. Exams are multiple choice and short answers. The short answers cost you 5 points each and you have to do at least 6. There is way to much homework, papers, quizzes, & exams. He doesnt elaborate on anything.
He is a really good prof, and very passionate about what he teaches, however he is the most difficult teacher I've ever had. The tests are hard, the material is never-ending, he assigns MORE HW THAN YOU COULD EVER IMAGINE (HOURS AND HOURS AND HOURS). However if you want to learn & you're serious about BIO, , take him, and do the hw.
Dr. Pfeiffer is excellent when it comes to lecture, he does really well explaining concepts making sure we understand before we move on to the next thing. As for lab, he is terrible, he does not explain and you are pretty much on your own there left to figure things out. He may promise to drop a grade but he doesn't stand by his word so no reliance
Dr. Pfeiffer is the best. If you aren't serious or passionate about your work, then don't take him. However, since you're in college, you should be serious and passionate. He is fantastic and incredibly smart.
Lots of homework and not a lot of time to complete it, near unmanageable. But he is a great guy and made learning Biology fun. He will offer extra credit for tests. Lots of group work. There will be a big group project in lab. Make sure you always show up for lab. He is very passionate and caring and will work with you if you try to work with him.
I had Dr. Pfeiffer for the first college science class I ever took. He warned us from day 1 that the course wouldn't be easy. He is a great lecturer and is very in depth when teaching the material. However, I still had to go to SI multiple times a week to grasp some of the concepts. He expects you to have read the chapter when you show up to class.
No clear dates on homework. Not very responsive to emails. Better have an idea about chemistry before beginning. You will work harder in this class than any other. Make sure if you take him, make you other classes easy. Much of the class barely passes. But you will learn.
I didn't take Pfeiffer for lecture but I took him for Bio Lab and it was great! He is very clear and what you need to know and gives lots of help and direction. I have no idea why he has such a low grade other than the fact that this class would be hard with ANY teacher. Take him! You won't regret it.
Do not take this class if you are not a Biology major. Alot of homework, but you will learn in the end. Read the text book. If you read the text book and review the material then the class and tests will not be a challange. Do not take if you are simply satisfying a science credit.
In lecture he is very disorganized. i can't learn from him. Tests are confusing. Our group is still lost in lab. Help.
Professor is really nice, but he is so disorganized. Who knows what book we are using half the time and he is not clear on the material. I recommend taking this course at another campus. The north east campus has the lab doing 4 reports per a semester. My final lab report was near 40 pages long. Statistics should be a prerequisite.
Dr. Pfeiffer was amazing, BEST Biology instructor I've ever had. If you really care about your studies, he will make sure you pass the class. But you need to work for it, and I mean, WORK FOR IT! He was always available in his office hours, if he needs to explain the same thing all over again, he will. He is a big fish in a small tank, a GENIUS!
Professor Pfeiffer was one of the hardest professor's I have had, HOWEVER he makes you fall in love with biology and teaches you how to work really hard in college. Looking back he is responsible for making me choose to become a biologist. Highly recommend if you are serious about your academics.
Dr. Pfeiffer is one of the best teachers that ive experienced in my life. He gives amazing lectures, cares about what he teaches and is an all around awesome guy. I will admit that this course expects a lot from the student. Alot of homework and reading but it will help in the end. Tests are multiple choice with a free response at the end
I feel this is a lecture class that takes up time.I feel like I could be doing the same work on my own online. I am doing this review after only 3 weeks. I will see how far I can make it before needing to drop this. You need to study hard. I also do not like his organization of information provided to you on the TCC page or lack there of.
It's obvious that Dr. Pfeiffer is very knowledgeable about biology, however, he isn't a good professor. He's extremely disorganized, and he changes deadlines left and right. His labs are fairly straight forward, however, he also assigns homework assignments to go with it. His lectures are all over the place and disorganized. Don't take him.
I decided to take Dr. Pfeiffer after reading the positive comments. He is a very fair grader and great lecturer with a deep passion for biology. With that said, the transition to online has left this class deficient in organization, consistency, and clear communication. Perhaps it would be better to take him if/when classes return to in-person.
DO NOT TAKE HIM. He thinks you will eat sleep and live biology for the entire semester, do not take him. Wait another semester do not take him. Anything you do, do not take him. Drop out before taking his class, he is an awful professor.
Do not take this class. He treated it like a religion, if you dont dedicate your life to biology then hes gonna send you to hell. DO NOT take this class, im warning you
This professor is not good at all, awful. Assigns about 4 assignments every class period. Dont take him for anything
Worst professor I have had in 4 years of college. Would not recommend him.
Doesnt do anything for students, doesnt care about anything wouldnt recommend
He is passionate about biology! He makes the material come to life with his excitement, and he is willing to help out when understanding is difficult. He assigns a lot of work, but I really learned in his class, and I appreciate his obvious love for educating others in the field of biology!
Dr. Pfeiffer is a very smart and friendly professor. His passion for biology shows in all of his lectures and he takes the time to answer any questions you have. I definitely worked for the A i got in the class but his grading is fair and if you put in the work you will pass.
He is extremely passionate and well versed in all the "ins and outs" of Biology. Definitely recommend if you have a passion for Biology and you plan to make a career out of Science. His class is a lot of work and you have to work hard for an A but it is possible to get that A if you are engaged, dedicated, and put in hours of work.
I took him this semester despite some negative comments on here. I personally think he is fair with work load and does try and help his students. The first three weeks will be hard but if you keep pushing you will learn so much from him. He is a passionate Professor and you will actually learn and know the material by the end of the class.
This class is hard but Dr. Pfeiffer is an incredibly knowledgeable professor. He answers all questions and goes in depth until you understand. It took me a week to get used to his learning style, but once I did, I really enjoyed his lectures. Come to class having read the chapter in advance and be sure to study his reviews and you should be good.
The teacher was knowledgeable in his field, but his exams are not easy.
An incredibly knowledgeable professor who is willing to explain everything to the smallest detail. If you are not a lecture-bad learner, you will struggle in his class since all classes are just him talking. Be sure to read in advance before class and study his reviews for exams.
Very knowledgeable but difficult exams.
He was very knowledgeable but difficult exams.
He knows his stuff but his style confused me. The homework was tough, but it was even harder because he made mistakes on the questions that had me working on them for hours trying to figure it out. Also, he went into great detail of some concepts but completely leaves out other concepts that you will have quizzes on. I'm glad others survived.
I took Professor Pfeiffer for Bio 1406 & Bio 1407. The first few weeks of 1406 were an adjustment but after you learn what study methods work for you, it's a lot easier. Go to lecture and study good for tests and you will do fine! I personally loved his labs, you get to learn a lot about the research side of things if you're interested in that.
Students who take biology with professor Pfeiffer might think he is hard, but all the other professors give the same material at tcc northeast. He has easy tests if you actually study the book and take the practise tests. The lab is easy to follow but you must study before attending them if you want a good grade on the post quizzes.
Do not take this, professor, if this is your first time taking Intro to Biology. He uses Wikipedia as a trustworthy source and never explains in detail what goes on in the lecture. THIS IS A SELF-TAUGHT class. The exams are lecture-based, and he never necessarily reviews them in class. SAVE YOUR MONEY!
The first few weeks were a hard adjustment but once you understand the structure of his class its not so bad. The tests aren't whats hard, its the workload. His tests are very similar to the practice tests & the open ended is the same as homework q's so pay attention to that. hes a little disorganized but great professor & is passionate about bio
Self-taught class, hard exams, tough grading and strict requirements for online quizzes/tests.
Prof. Pfeiffer is a bit unorganized. If you want an A, put the work in & read the textbook before class bc it's a HEAVY workload. Exams will require a lot of stuff from textbook & lectures stories. He also gives opportunities for extra credit. He is passionate about biology (like a crazy scientist) and understanding if you communicate.
No question is a dumb question except in his class. Avoid NE campus biology teachers for TCC. This professor belittles your inquiry of knowledge and eagerness to learn. Its almost like you're suppose to know the material before coming to his class when you are there to learn. He is better than the Bio women on this campus. Come with thick skin!!
I had Dr Pfeiffer for Biology 1408 Lab in the fall. Be careful when you take him. I had a tough time in the course, you have to really read the lab manual if you want to pass the lab part. I don't recommend him, but he was really funny and caring for all of the students. He really loves Biology.
BEWARE! Do not take this professor. He is wildly disorganized and a poor lecturer… however expects students to have every sentence of the book memorized in order to succeed. The homework is relentless. You literally will need 8-16 hours a week to devote to just homework. No matter how much you study, you will not feel well prepared for tests. BAD.
Professor Pfeiffer's class can be a challenge, but engaging with the material and using study tools like Unstuck ai make it manageable. The workload is heavy, but his passion for biology shines through. Attend lectures, utilize the textbook, and you'll do well.
Very disorganized. Hours and hours of homework that doesn't help with studying. I didn't know where to start wi
Dr. Pfeiffer's Biology 1406 class can be tough, but as long as you pay attention during class and stay on top of your assignments you will do well. He offers group extra credit opportunities and will not count some heavily missed questions on exams. The class is memorization-heavy and fast paced. Expect a quiz, paper, or exam at least every week.
His class is definitely an adjustment at first, but you get used to it. He's very knowledgeable, and when you ask a question (especially in lab) he always takes the time to explain things thoroughly and make sure you understand. His class isn't necessarily easy, but he gives you a lot of resources. Also, reading the textbook will be very helpful.
Dr. Pfeiffer is a challenging professor, but he really cares about his students. Was always understanding when people needed extra help or time. The homework load is heavy, but that means there's a lot of little assignments helping your grade out, so you can struggle with the tests and still be ok. Highly recommend using study group extra credit!
The material is hard but he is very clear with his grading. If you communicate with him he is really sweet and willing to work with you and he post all the material online.
He is a great guy, put truly if you need a science credit, take something else. I barely had time to focus on my other classes and have a job. I considered dropping after just the first lecture but I really needed this credit.
Very passionate and understanding guy, very dense workload (submitted lecture notes, 4+ lecture quizzes, pre/post lab quizzes, written hw assignments, exams, and a self-led experiment), make sure to prepare before class (read the textbook/prepare for lab), utilize a study group for exams, you HAVE to put in the work to keep up, use every resource!
Dr. Pfeiffer's class is tough, and sometimes you'll feel overwhelmed by the amount of homework. But he's also incredibly caring and willing to work with students who need help. The practice test is very representative of what the tests will be usually, and he adds a good amount of extra credit to your test grades if you study in a group.
