This was Professor Wright's first year teaching and he was amazing!! His Book of Mormon class was very fun and easy. Only work was reading and coming up with one gospel principle per chapter. There were daily quizzes but he gave us a study guide for them so it was cake, and the quizzes died off towards the end! Reading was only a few chap. a night!
Mastering in Mesoamerican archaeology, Bro. Wright shares a unique conviction of the Book of Mormon. He's personable, passionate, has a sense of humor. The homework is minimal but impactful nonetheless, placing emphasis on "likening the scriptures" to everyday life.
Brother Wright is a very cool guy, there are daily quizzes but he gives out study guides, the tests he helps you out on, they are not take home however, overall it was a good class, overall though Brother Wright was a very very cool guy and always very nice to me, i highly recommend this class
Brother Wright connects well with his students, and shares interesting insights from his mesoamerican studies. He is also very funny.
I absolutely loved brother Wright! He's so cool and fun. He really realtes to everyone, but especially the not quite as smart kids. Read scriptures, and write good principles, and he will love you! Easiest class at BYU
By far the easiest Book of Mormon teacher. He teaches very strait forward and makes it clear what material will be on the test. He will not trick you. He puts up a study guide before all of the tests and there is no guess work. The homework is cake and is directed towards personal improvement. It's only a couple chapters a night.
This class was a joke. For knowing as much as he does in Mesoamerican studies, I left the class with nothing. It was the easiest class I've taken at BYU and I remember laughing at the jokes on the test. He'd be a great seminary teacher, but not college level. Easy A if you need to boost your GPA.
I love Brother Wright! Best teacher I have ever had. Much more than a glorified seminary teacher. Really makes learning fun!
For the person who stated it "was a joke": It's your fault you didn't get anything out of class. Bro. Wright's lectures were informational and inspiring. If you want to know anything about Mesoamerican archaeology, why don't you take a Mesoamerican archaeology class? Besides, Rel121 only covers up to Alma, which takes place mostly in the Old World.
Bro Wright is an awesome teacher who adds in mesoamerican history in with the Book of Mormon. His purpose is to teach whats in the Book of Mormon and that's whats on his tests so they are pretty easy. Deffinently take him for you're BOM class
Great teacher, great class. I love his power point presentations, they make lectures easy. Great application assignment, tests are easy ONLY if you attend class and read the Book Of Mormon. Basically show up, take notes, read and do assignments, you'll get an A. I got a lot out of this class, learned more here than any other religion class so far.
Great professor. Really funny and down to earth. Not terribly hard but I learned a lot. If nothing else, my testimony of the Book of Mormon was increased.
BORING!He tries very hard to make it interesting, however, his weird pictures have nothing to do with what the class should be about.Tests- no idea where he is taking the questions from.He tells you one thing, and you find another on tests. If you want an A, go for it, but its going to be a waist of your time.Go to an instytute, and you will learn more!
This class was pretty simple. You have 3 tests (no comprehensive final)and a 4 page paper that is no big deal. I did learn some things but never felt too spiritually uplifted. He does research mesoamerica so knows about Book of Mormon archeology. He is a really nice, helpful (kinda) funny guy. He is willing to meet/talk with you. Gives study guide.
Personable, caring, available for help & humorous - Getting through the material in a hurry seemed more important than teaching by the Spirit. Quiz every week. Study guides very helpful. His Meso-America background very interesting! Wouldn't recommend if you want spiritual uplift, but, would if you enjoy the Meso-America information.
If you want an A take this class. Some guys thought they could slack and they ended with grades ridiculously bad grades because if you just read the BoM your all set with whatever is thrown at you. This should be a pass/fail class. Besides an awesome archaeology fact every week you wont learn anything that isn't plainly in the BoM already.
Amazing professor. Really knows his stuff. Lectures are very interesting and keep you entertained! He is at the cutting-edge of his meso-American field and brings a lot if interesting insights as well as funny jokes and stories! Do the readings, go to class, study the amazing study guides and you'll get an A :-)
He is a great teacher, gives some great insights into the Book of Mormon, but also has a great testimony. I loved his class and he is a great teacher. Take this class if you want to learn a lot. Very good to work with students if any questions!
Professor Wright is awesome! Just do the study guide each week and the study guides for the exam and you will ace the class! He even does a movie that will get you extra credit! Take Book of Mormon from him.
His lectures are routine but still good. Each week you have study questions as homework, and then you get to use them on the weekly quiz. His class isn't hard, and most of your grade comes from two tests and the final. They aren't too hard, but some other BOM professors create grades based on weakly reading instead. So go with what you prefer.
Brother Wright is the man!! He lets everyone share their comments and he has so much insight because of his research in meso american history. He blew my mind every class! His tests are simple - just memorize the study guide and you will get an A
Yep, this class was great! I loved that we learned but it didn't take hours and hours to study for the tests. You should study the study guide and you will do well on the tests. :) He is a great guy and loved the class!
Dr. Wright is the best! His lectures are clear and concise. I cannot believe that people are saying they were not spiritually uplifted by a BOM class. I would call that "user error"! The BOM is inspiring enough as is but Dr. Wright brings it to life in a new way. He is down to earth and real. I HIGHLY recommend him to everyone!
Brother Wright is great! The class is pretty easy and all of his power points are online which is really helpful for studying for tests. The quizzes are super easy! Keep up on the study questions; those can be a little time-consuming. Brother Wright is super nice and has some really interesting teaching methods. Great class!
Bro. Wright is the BEST!! Yes he tests you on arcaic information, but he gives you all the answers to every single question he will ask on quizzes and on tests. Just do the reading and the study questions and go to class and you will thoroughly enjoy learning about the BOM and the evidences from Mesoamerica that Bro. Wright is an expert in.
Best religion professor I've had at BYU. He explains complicated doctrines in simple down-to-earth ways. There are quizzes every other week, which you are allowed to use your study questions on but not scriptures. 2 midterms, 1 final. Multiple choice, answers straight from lecture and his study guides. Offers great meso-american insights.
Great professor! Explains things clearly, but without being condescending. Tests and quizzes are straight forward. This class is an easy A if you just show up and put forth a little effort. Also, for RMs like myself who served in "Book of Mormon country" taking this class from HIM is a must.
He is an awesome professor. He is really fair and you learn a ton. He's an expert in Meso-american anthropology, so he knows his stuff.
He's a very easy going guy and very down to earth. He's got a PhD in Anthropology with a sub-field in Meso-American archaeology so he's got interesting insights into the Book of Mormon. He is careful to say what is theory and what is doctrine. Tests were tough, but if you do the reading questions you'll be fine
Awesome teacher, passionate about the Book of Mormon, has really interesting insights, and is such a nice guy. Really cares about his students and is willing to help.
His class is great! If you know everything on the midterm study guides, you will ACE them. No comprehensive final. However, he keeps forgetting to post our weekly study guides on Learning Suite. He is probably the most absent-minded professor I have met.
Brother Wright is awesome! He knows what he's talking about, and he's very insightful. Every single question that is on all the tests are also on the study guide he gives you beforehand, so if you want an A, it'll be easy to achieve. Attendance is mandatory though, so you get 1 freebie day then after that every absence takes 2% off your final grade
Super biased and teaches his opinion more than the Gospel itself. Know-it-all kind of guy that says things that make me cringe. Otherwise, yeah...ok teacher.
Brother Wright is really good. He teaches clearly and his tests aren't too bad. He has a lot of background in Meso-american culture so he focuses on that a lot. Do the readings and the study guide and you'll be just fine for quizzes and tests.
Brother Wright is seriously the best religion professor ever. He's lectures are interesting due to his Meso-American background. He gives you weekly study questions and an open note test once a week which is easy grade. For his midterms he gives you a study sheet that you fill out and memorize and you will do amazing on he test. Best professor ever
I looked forward to coming to Bro. Wright's class every week! His lectures are interesting, especially since he does a lot of archaeology work in Central America. Very knowledgeable about the Book of Mormon and ancient scripture. He gives you all the tools you need to succeed. Tests and quizzes are easy as long as you read and do the study guide!
Brother Wright is awesome! His lectures and insights are interesting and his class is easy. Go to class, do the weekly study questions and quizzes, and do the pre-exam study guide and an A is easy.
I was impressed with how Brother Wright was always doctrinally sound-he makes a clear distincton between folklore and doctrine. He addreses tough gospel issues and tells it like it is. I trust him with deep doctrinal questions.Memorize and you'll make an A. Good teacher, didn't particularly enjoy Pearl of Great Price because there is much unknown.
Mark is an awesome teacher. Probably the funniest teacher at BYU. Take as many of his classes as possible.
BEST PROFESSOR EVER. His class is easy -- you only have to read out of the BoM, take online quizzes every week, and there's a short paper due at the end (about you). He gives study guides for all quizzes and test that are word for word and there's no way you could not pass if you study. Besides being easy, he is insightful. TAKE HIM.
Mark was my seminary teacher, my institute teacher, my surfing teacher and my brother. Best dude on the planet and super smart. Take his class, learn a ton and have a blast!
Best teacher ever! Easily the best religion teacher I have had at BYU.
Super easy class. Just show up and do the study guides and you should do fine. Brother Wright had some super cool insights. We had some really interesting conversations.
Bro Wright is an exceptional teacher. I was very pleased with his course. However, it is easy to get too relaxed in his class. Don't make that mistake! He is a great guy, very helpful and straightforward on his tests. He simplifies the BOM and his mesoamerican knowledge is very interesting when paralleled with the BOM. Take from him, he's the best!
Brother Wright is awesome and the class is pretty easy, but he kind of twists the gospel in his own way, which I didn't like. His final was also dumb, but the rest of the class was great.
LOVE this professor. Super down to earth and good at explaining things. Just go to class and study the guides he gives you! the study guides are exactly like the tests and quizzes in a different order.
Brother Wright helped me see the Book of Mormon in a different way, from a more historical/educational aspect. He also made me think of certain principles differently. He is definitely not an EFY speaker-type teacher, pretty down to earth and you won't be crying in class or anything, but he teaches well! Tests are easy if you do study guide.
Brother Wright is a super cool guy. I really enjoy his class. The tests are easy if you do the study guide. The final was hard though because a lot of stuff on the test wasn't on the study guide.
Great professor. Knows his stuff and is really smart. Helpful, willing to answer questions. Quizzes are weekly on the reading. Three tests. Final is not comprehensive. There are study guides for each test. He knocks you 1% of your grade for each class you miss so make sure you go.
I really liked this class. It was a break from my hard classes. If you do the readings, go to class, go to the test study groups then you will do great. Brother Wright relies a bit too much on his TA but he's a good in-class teacher.
Bro Wright is nice and has cool insights. Though sometimes he says some doctrine is wrong and I was a little confused. Sometimes his tests have questions that aren't on the study guide, which isn't fair, but I still got an A-. One brief paper, but pay attention to the quizzes! They may determine your grade.
Very interesting lectures. Awesome archaeological insights & great maps of BoM events. Informative & encourages discussion. Study guides for 3 tests cover 99% of what you need to know, w/o a bunch of excess. Study guides for quizzes less efficient, & I thought the 10 online quizzes trickier than exams. No required reading time or other homework.
Overall, a good religion class. Not too difficult, Brother Wright provides detailed study guides for each test. I learned a lot of good information, but the course wasn't life changing.
2 Midterms, 1 Final, several quizzes, and 1 paper for the semester. As long as you study, you will get an A. Attendance is important, so make sure you show up. The lecture is interesting!
If you are good at taking multiple choice and true false questions this class is an easy A. You have to study a lot of trivial things for the midterms and final. Brother Wright is nice and fair.
Fascinating, hilarious, and super easy. Take his class Just do it.
Took both sections of Book of Mormon from Bro. Wright. I highly recommend him if you are willing to do the reading (he gives you study questions to fill out while you read and then are tested on 10 of those questions each week) and go over the mid-term study guide (we did it in groups and I never got below a 93% for two semesters) and participate!
Bro Wright is fantastic!! He makes the Book of Mormon come alive and I found myself interested more and more in what we learned. Weekly quizzes that are fairly easy but the reading can be time consuming. The class is not hard but you have to work for your grade. His study guides are the key to getting a good grade on tests. Great guy.
Brother Wright was awesome! If you go to class and listen, then you will ace the tests. Also, his study guides actually have all of the information that will be on the tests. You still have to do the study guides, but if you do you're golden. I loved all of his insights that he had from studying so much about Native American tribes. Great teacher!
He's one of like 16 people that speak Mayan in the world. He gets thousands of emails everyday asking about Book of Mormon validity questions backed by historyarchaeology. You will get a lot of great insights that makes the BOM real. His quizzes every week are closed book and super hard. His study guides are the test though.
He is a great professor! There are three tests, and if you attend the lectures and basically memorize the study guides then they aren't hard AT ALL. He gives interesting insights, and is open for discussion with the students. Attendance is mandatory, if you miss days he takes it out on your grade. Overall a great professor and would recommend him.
Nice guy, weekly quizzes are hard if you don't do the reading and take notes. I found lectures to be very factual rather than spiritual, but he really knows what he is talking about. Tests are definitely doable if you complete the study guide, but they are very specific... so pay attention! I learned a lot in this class!
Brother Wright is honestly my favorite teacher that i have had at BYU thus far. He is straight forward and willing to work with you. Gives you all the test questions before, easy class and great man. I cannot recommend him more.
Brother Wright knows so much about Meso America, and He's really good at integrating it into the context of the Book of Mormon. It was so interesting!! And really spiritual. Quizes were hard, but not a huge part of your grade. Tests were the study guides, almost verbatim. All in all, awesome. Definitely recommend.
Bro Wright is the man, I took him for both of my BOM classes. Just go to class. Do the study guides, and you'll have an A. Easy as that.
Bro. Wright combines the tone of a college professor with the spirituality of a religion professor, and that's a good thing. His classes are more than just a repeat of seminary or institute, and are interesting and informational. If you attend class, complete assignments, and do the study guides (the test questions are all on there), you'll pass.
This was the first semester this class was being taught, therefore he had to essentially create a new curriculum. Due to this he constantly changed lectures and due dates on the syllabus. Despite this, he was a great professor and his expert knowledge about Meso-America really contributes to the lectures! Has quite a bit of reading but not too bad.
I thought he was a great professor! His lectures are interesting and he is very humble and open-minded. You have readings due from the book of mormon and other interesting articles related to it due before each class. For the tests he gives you a study guide that you need to fill out but it has all you need to know for the test.
He really knows his stuff. Super straightforward. Gives you all the quiz and test questions before each quiz and test, so you know exactly what you need to study. He's like the Book of Mormon Indiana Jones.
Brother Wright is an amazing teacher and I would highly recommend taking BOM from him. Quizzes/Tests are pretty easy and I loved studying for them. The only negative about this class is that there's a little bit of busy work with the new study skills assignments that he started this semester. Very interesting class. You'll love Brother Wright!
He's an expert on all things Mayan and his insights were unique and made the class very interesting. I walked away from every lecture thinking that I had actually learned something new. He's friendly, though VERY slow to post and grade assignments. More work than your typical religion class, but also very manageable. Expect long final paper.
Dr. Wright was the most unorganized professor I've ever had. Does not keep up with grading, and has a hard time doing what he says he is going to do, like posting quizzes and assignments on-time. He gives study-skills assignments which are just busy work. The study guides are exactly like the exams. He takes 2% off your grade for skipping class.
Brother Wright is the best religion teacher I have ever had. People say that he is an easy A which is partially true, but the assignments are not busy work if you are truly trying to improve yourself. He really cares about his students. Study guides are exactly what is on the test. I have taken multiple classes from him. Seriously, take it from him
Very disrespectful. Structures class based on past experiences with students. If students one semester used Google Docs to study and he didn't like it, he'll make a rule against Google Docs the next semester. Too much busy work. Doesn't like much student involvement in class and will cut you off so he can move on. Did I say disrespectful?
Another typical BoM class at BYU. Bro. Wright is a great teacher and really makes class entertaining. The only beef I had with him is his lack of clarity on some small weekly assignments. You can figure them out after a while but at first it's challenging to know what he wants you to do. Other than that I definitely would take class from him again.
Brother Wright is a really fun teacher and is both spiritual and funny at the same time. His classes were worth it to go to just because of how much I enjoyed them. The tests were easy because he tells you everything you need to know and his study guides are really spot on.
He has a good balance between spiritual and intellectual knowledge. His main goal is to improve your personal study, but he also knows a LOT of interesting things about mesoamerica and it's connection with the Book of Mormon. He shares a lot of his own thoughts (not church doctrine) but they're generally really good thoughts.
His main goal is to improve your personal study, but he also knows a LOT of interesting things about mesoamerica and it's connection with the Book of Mormon. He shares a lot of his own thoughts (not church doctrine) but they're generally really good thoughts. It's a good balance between spiritual and intellectual information.
Bro Wright knows his stuff, highly recommend taking any BoM class from him. Lots of background in Mesoamerica culture that provides good context. Gives study guides for weekly quizzes and the tests that literally are exactly what you need to know. Don't delay starting your paper due at the end of the semester! MUST ATTEND CLASS.
Brother Wright is a great professor. I have enjoyed the classes I've taken from him and find greater understanding of the scriptures each class. His knowledge of mesoamerica is interesting as well. I looked forward to doing assignments for this class and didn't worry about my grade.
He's a great guy and his lectures are interesting. He tries to bring things back to personal application. But I don't like how he treats his own interpretations/inferences about the Book of Mormon almost as fact, and things haven't been really well organized. Class often gets a bit too sidetracked as well.
Brother Wright offers a unique outlook on the Book of Mormon because of his expertise in Meso-American archeology. He gives fascinating lectures and promotes all of his students to really dig into the details and principles of the Book of Mormon. He fosters class discussion with questions and promotes spiritual discussions regularly.
Brother Wright is great. He specializes in Mesoamerican culture and gives some really interesting insights to the Book of Mormon. He is pretty funny and the class isn't that hard. You do the reading each week and take a quiz (open note, closed book). He also gives short papers (mostly copy and paste from LDS .org, etc.) Study guides are tests.
The most unorganized and disrespectful professor I have had at BYU. Almost nothing was graded the entire semester until after the final, and when it was graded there were numerous errors. His homework assignments are the definition of busy work. They can take hours but you won't get anything out of them. Tests were easy, just pure memorization.
I learned soooo much... His study guides are clear and cover the material on the test exactly. You will need to study the study guides a little bit to do well on the tests, but they aren't anything to be scared of.
He is a great teacher! the amount of work in this class is borderline ridiculous, especially for a religion class! I had about 6 or more hours of homework and reading a week for this class! He really knows what he is talking about, he is someone who is incredibly knowledgeable. But get ready to work hard!
I loved learning about the Book of Mormon from the perspective of an ancient- Meso American anthropologist. It was very interesting and inspiring. I have a deeper knowledge of the Book of Mormon, now. Bro Wright is awesome! However, his tests are super tricky. You have to make sure you study really well with lots of memorization.
Alright. This isnt just an easy religion class and at first that really made me upset. I had a really hard schedule but this class taught me a TON about the BOM. He teaches you to look for details and it makes you learn a lot more in your own scripture study. He cares a lot so simply talk to him if youre concerned about your grade.
Great class if you come and pay attention you will get an A. inspirational and very informative. He not only teaches you the material but teaches you how to learn vie teaching different search methods, how to find and use other church resources. chance for extra credit, i barely scraped by with an A tho, the tests can be challenging
I found Prof Wright's class fascinating! I love how he used anthropological findings to provide logical and scientific arguments for the authenticity of the BoM. Greatly grew my appreciation for the BoM. Best way to get a high grade is to take ur time to complete "modules" (38% of ur grade), record/re-listen to lectures and review his powerpoints.
Prof. Wright is really passionate about the Book of Mormon, and that enthusiasm is contagious. He really digs deep into the text, and that helped me gain a greater appreciation for the Book of Mormon and what a complex book it is. This class was a great testimony builder and very intellectually stimulating. Apply yourself and you'll love it.
I thought he was a really interesting lecturer but his tests are absolutely killer. He gives a study guide but it seemed like no matter how much I studied, I could just never get above a B. The questions were just so hard and didn't have much to do with the doctrine.
Definitely not my favorite professor & there are probably better options when it comes to BoM. He does give a lot of interesting facts and history, but his tests are very specific and more about minuscule details than actual doctrine. He is a nice guy and cracks jokes, but is not on top of the schedule/posting quizzes/coming to lecture.
Dr. Wright is a fantastic guy and really brings an interesting perspective to your Book of Mormon education. Lectures were always one of the highlights of my week. The class is very easy, although the tests are specific and require a good amount of studying. He struggled to post quizzes or tests this semester, but this may not be normal for him.
His tests are so hard and each time I tried very hard and I never got a good grade. This sucks because tests are pretty much all of your grade! Lecture is enjoyable and there isn't really any homework, other than a weekly quiz which isn't too bad. You have to attend class to pass, you can only miss once. He was not on top of posting grades/tests
This class was definitely rough. Brother Wright was not on top of his game at all this semester. He was consistently behind in posting assignments and was constantly telling us he would post things and then would proceed to not post them. His tests are really hard. Very specific about the small details in the text of the Book of Mormon.
Brother Wright was very unorganized this semester. He was extremely late in posting our study guides/quizzes/tests. Tests were totally unreasonable; 80 questions all about the smallest little details of the BoM. More like playing a trivia game than learning BoM. Interesting lectures to learn about Meso-America, but lousy experience for a BoM class.
Professor Wright is a great teacher lots of knowledge and insight. Things got a little jumbled this semester, but Prof. Wright was very fair in how he handled the curriculum. Tests were kinda hard (lots of stuff to memorize), but not impossible. Exam study guide was a little generic (a few more specifics would have been helpful). Very kind person.
Brother Wright is a very nice guy and offers a lot of great information that supports the Book of Mormon. Unfortunately he is not great at explaining the stories of the Book of Mormon. He mostly focuses on different evidences that support the Book of Mormon. Grade is solely based on quiz and test scores.
Love Professor Wright. Easy class for New Testament. More about learning than a grade. He's funny and wants you to succeed. Though don't miss class the tests come from his powerpoints.
Brother Wright focuses way too much on Mesoamerican history for my taste. I just don't see the significance of tiny details that have nothing to do with my spiritual learning. His attendance policy is horrible he takes points away if you miss but doesn't give you any. Tests and quizzes are the only points you get and they are quite difficult.
Dives much too deep into meaningless information about Mesoamerican history. The amount of work required to be successful is unreasonable. Poor choice. If you are taking this class take it from anyone but Brother Wright. You have been warned.
Brother Wright's class was frustrating because while there was a strict attendance policy, it felt like we weren't learning relevant things in class. He's nice and funny, but I didn't feel like I benefited much from the information he taught, which was rough. It felt very random and not applicable. There are lots of quizzes and extra readings.
Dude's cool and knows a TON about the book of mormon. One quiz a week - don't forget and you'll be fine
Professor Wright is such a kind man. You can really tell that he knows his stuff! I really enjoyed his lectures. This class is very hard. There is so much material. His tests and quizzes are about very meticulous parts of the scriptures. Don't take this class unless you have a lot of time and love classes that are pretty unorganized.
Take this class for a number of reasons. Lots of quizzes, so easy to do well. Best TA ever. I asked her and she will be working for him next year. He cares a lot about his students and if you do the study questions and study guide, you will get an A.
Really great person. Deep analysis of archaeological evidence and textual clues to extrapolate realistic human interactions in the Book of Mormon story for deeper understanding of the text. Feasible A if you do the study guides, nigh impossible if you don't. May post assignments late due to health issues. Seeks to help students on a personal level.
His grading system is very clear. Only quizzes midterms and tests count towards your grade. He didn't always post the quizzes (and sometimes the midterms) on time, which was slightly annoying. His lectures are really interesting and you will learn a lot, but he easily gets distracted, goes on tangents, and gets very behind. Fairly easy A.
Expanded my contextual knowledge on the BOM... which was awesome. It seems a little pointless some of the stuff he makes you memorize, but it's easy. Workload isn't hard, and is consistent. Tests & Quizzes on LS. Quizzes open note, all tests had a study guide that was super easy to fill out. Interesting class, easy to pass.
Brother Wright is a solid choice for a GE if you want something easier. His lectures are mandatory (he will deduct points if absent more than once). He tries to assign one quiz a week, but he is so inconsistent this didn't usually happen. His schedule is not online either. You can use study guides during the quizzes and they are comprehensive.
Professor Wright is super easy. You have a lot of quizzes, but you get a study guide for each one that you're allowed to use on the quiz. It makes it better because you focus more on building your testimony of the BOM rather than struggling to get a good grade in the class. Definitely my easiest class of the semester!
The easiest religion class you will ever take. Brother Wright is a great man and really wants you to do well. Weekly open note quizzes and only two tests.
The class was pretty easy, but it was very heavy on the history side of the Book of Mormon and not the spiritual side. The final study guide he handed out had over 200 questions on it of little detailed facts like "When did Mormon have his first victory?".
Bro Wright is a very kind and reasonable professor. However, this class was VERY disorganized. Super easy A, though.
Brother Wright is a kind of easy A class. He gives out reviews before each exam with almost the exact questions that will be on there. But I will say that he can get lazy and forget to post things on time.
Attendance is a lot of the grade, so show up to class. This was a weird semester since he was struggling through some health challenges so we usually didn't get our weekly reading quizzes, and reading assignments were unclear. Weekly quizzes are open-note, so as long as you're willing to take the time to make sure your notes are good, you can get A
Tests are all open note and he gives you study guides that contain all the information you need for those tests. His specialty is ancient american archaeology, so the class expanded my understanding of a lot of the possible historical and cultural contexts for small details in the BOM. It was really interesting!
Bro. Wright was the best religion teacher, I'd take every class from him if I could. You have reading homework and a quiz weekly, and then a couple of midterms. His lectures are so interesting because he uses historical context to make the stories come alive. Don't take Book of Mormon from anyone else.
Brother Wright was a great teacher! He has studied Meso-American life and relates it back to the Book of Mormon every lesson. There is not a lot of homework and the quizzes and tests are open note.
Brother Wright is awesome. He is just a really really nice guy. I had no problems with him. Attendance is taken each time with a roll sheet passed around so you do got to go to class. He made the tests super not stressful though. Tests and final were open study guide. Take rel 122 from prof Wright
