A lot of reading (7 books) but a good perspective of Roman and Greek culture is gained. He wasn't very clear as to what would be on the test but didn't ask for too many details. (My first test was an 100).

Prof. Beck is wonderful: easy-going, interesting, and a class worth taking, especially for future classes in the humanities.

Great guy! Fun classes too. Doesn't make you feel bad if you don't understand or ask a lot of questions.

This is my second class with Dr. Beck and he is great! He is so enthusiastic about the material and is very personable and nice. He gives a lot of reading, but his tests are very fair. Wonderful professor! Take him if you get a chance!

I think it was his first time teaching Sports and Combat in the Ancient World but the material was very interesting and presented in a coherent manner. If its offered again take it!

This class was so easy. There was a lot to read, iliad, oddessy, sophocles etc. but if you even remotely like any of the classic lit this class is for you. He has four tests none of which took me more than 30 mins. the only bad thing is that he reads his lecture so it is kinda bland.

You must go to class! Class is interesting though, so it's not so bad. I only ready the first book--after that, I realized that he gave us everything we needed in class notes, and got an A based on that. Exams get harder throughout the semester though. A really nice guy!

Had him for Sports and Combat, and he seems to be a very nice guy, as a teacher he does wander a bit and is disorganized, but those are excusable. Yeah, go to class, take notes on what he says, and you'll be golden.

amazing--Professor Beck is a fantastic teacher. very approachable and kind. works very hard to create a challenging, worthwhile class (also, a lot of fun, with a slightly dark sense of humour). very encouraging despite difficulty of material.

There are two ways to ace this class. Go to class and listen to him, or read a million pages of classics and find out you needed a very small portion of this. This class is amazingly simple.

He is an amazing professor, i actually enjoyed going to class. If you take this class do not get behind, if you do you are in for a rough time. He will be more than glad to help, but you have to go to class and keep up with the assignment to make a good grade easily

Dr. Beck is an amazing professor! His knowledge about Classics was astounding and he makes the material very interesting. He was very approachable and always willing to help! I would recommend him to anyone who enjoys classics and loves a good teacher!

Dr. Beck is a great guy and a fun professor. He really cares a lot about the course material and enjoys engaging in discussion after class. Make sure you attend his lectures, both because he makes them interesting (not only because he utilizes the occasional documentary), and because you really can't do well in the course without taking notes.

Ehh Beck is a pretty smart guy but his lectures are hard to pay attention to. The guy just stands up there with a projector and slides a piece of paper with notes under it and reads from that, or he just reads directly from the books. There's a lot of reading but spark notes can help a lot.

Awesome prof. Easy-going, respectful, good sense of humor, and thought-provoking. Loved every minute of class.

He is really nice and teaches one of my favorite subjects in the world. He sometimes seems like he is just talking, not really teaching (it is really hard to explain). However, when he starts a section that he is more interesting in, like history, he does a 180 and becomes the most interesting and fun teacher. TONS of reading! BE WARNED 60 pg/night

Dr. Beck is an absolutely brilliant scholar, which I don't think is an area of objection. He sometimes forgot that it was an introductory course, but when reminded he always did his best to clarify. I particularly appreciate his accessibility; Professor Beck is very approachable and is willing to work with a person on an individual basis.

This was online medical Term. and it was easy because it was online. I recommend it to any science major it requires some work but is an overall easy A. Beck was a great professor, didnt do much but always helpful!

As long as you do the activities each week you will do well in this class.

This class was not too terribly hard. I took it Maymester so I didn't have time to do all of the exercises because I would have had to do like 8 a day... but I still made an A in the class (I think he curved grades) In a normal semester would have been very helpful and beneficial!

Awesome class! I am a high-school teacher of Latin with a strong minor in the subject who has spent most of his career teaching Spanish. I had reached a plateau in reading authentic Latin and this class did exactly what I wanted it to do by making it possible to read more difficult texts. Thanks, Dr. Beck!

Very easy online! Do the exercises and you should make an A on the test. The average of the four test are your average for the class, so you really don't even have to do the modules, but they are the exact place he gets his test questions from.

Despite being an online class and the fact that this is an online class, if you do not do the exercises, you are unlikely to succeed. It is crucial to do the exercises if you do not have any medical terminology background. Professor Beck is incredibly understanding and a wonderful teacher, I would highly recommend taking his class.

Dr. Beck picked up this class at the last minute and did a great job with it. He is very knowledgeable both of the Greek language and the Greek culture. Learning Greek is rather difficult, but Dr. Beck's informal style and humor helped to make class periods enjoyable. His tests were always straightforward and graded fairly.

I took this class online and I wish every online class was like this. There was NO homework, Just 4 tests that make your grade. I never studied I just googled every test answer. Super easy class. I highly recommend taking if you want an easy A.

Easiest class I've ever taken. 4 online exams determine your grade for the class. I would say about 90% of all the questions can be googled.

I didn't interact with Dr. Beck a lot because it was an online class, but he had very clear outlines, posted good review activities, and recommended good medical dictionaries (not required). This class is an easy A, but I recommend really learning the material if you're pre-med. It's not incredibly difficult, just memorization and comprehension.

This is such an easy class. Complete the modules and make notecards and you will pass the tests. I maybe spent 10 hours studying for this class the entire semester

Professor Beck is a really great professor, our class was online and he would always extend the deadlines for the exams if he saw that many people had not taken them yet. There are four exams and those four exams make up your grade at the end of the semester.

Whole grade is 4 tests. Read the modules and you're fine

The online class is very easy if you print off and take notes on the word lists. Though it isn't mandatory, I highly recommend completing all the exercises. Some question on the test are taken from there and do not entirely relate to the word lists. Responds to email very quickly and reminds when the test window opens.

Easy online class. Only thing that counts for a grade is 4 online test. Everything needed for the test is given to you. Teacher is accessible if needed.

Professor Beck is super kind. He's pretty monotone but he enjoys teaching about classical mythology so he talks throughout the whole class but and that may sound sucky but what he's teaching about is intriguing. Just listen, take notes, and that's about it. Had one test in class, the rest were online. No other grades. I highly recommend.

The class was online, and everything in the modules was a completion grade. If you got the answer wrong the first time, you keep trying till you get it right and nothing happens to your grade. The only real grades are the four exams, which are taken straight from the modules. The only issue is you have to buy an expensive program to do it on.

I took this class online and it was by far the EASIEST class!!!! I wish all classes had this setup, I literally took notes on the pp, completed the module and I was done until the exam. The questions on the exam were the EXACT things you learn on the pp. If not, everything was on quizlt. If you are a good note taker, TAKE THIS CLASS.

I had him for medical terminology and everything was online. You really didn't communicate with him besides a couple of emails of him reminding when the exams were. Your final grade is based on the 4 exams, which aren't hard because as long as you did your modules. The modules are graded by completion instead of accuracy.

Pretty straightforward class. You have to purchase access to a website that gives you access to the modules and tests. The powerpoints explain everything well and the tests aren't difficult

No lecture so I'm not too familiar with the professor, but he seems friendly and the class is well laid out. My only complaint was that final grades went in considerably later than my other courses.

Very hard to reach by email, could be COVID related. But when he does answer, hes very nice and straight to the point. As long as you do the modules, this class isnt hard.

This was an online asynch class but he was super helpful and answered any questions via email. The modules and exams were kinda easy if you studied well. Your overall grade is based on module completion and 4 exams, the last one is a cumulative exam that was taken before finals week. The class is interesting and easy, but you have to study.

This was an easy A for me and likely for anyone with any medical background. It's all online. Mostly participation based on some weekly assignments with just a few module exams. I would absolutely recommend this as an elective class.

This class was online and it was honestly great. You still had to learn the material however there wasn't a professor breathing down your back 25/8. The material was easy enough to learn and understand without a professor but if one needs to get in contact with one, he was readily available.

There are only four exams (non-cumulative) that revolve around the readings/lectures, and there is A LOT to read each week (200+ pages). One term paper about a topic revolving around the class with 3000 words minimum, but it shouldn't be too hard if you start early. No extra credit, so be sure to have a great work ethic!

This is by far the easiest class I have ever taken. You do everything on your own time and he always responded to me when I had a problem and fixed it. Homework assignments are just graded on participation. He leaves the exams open for a couple days. Best class to take if you need an easy elective.

Dr. Beck is a great professor. The only complaint that I have is that he doesnt put any grades in blackboard during the semester. The power-points, practices, and tests are easy as long as you pay attention to the course work. The final was fairly easy as well.

Class was fairly easy. Everything was online and he allowed exams to be open note and they were open to take for a few days. He listened to his students and would open up exams early if need be. Homework was graded off of participation so it's not hard to get a good grade in this class. A good break from other classes, would recommend!

Prof Beck is SO understanding, there was a point in time where I had a 1% in his class bec I forgot to complete the assignments and he literally let me make them all up in a single night, reminding me "not to stress bec I still had 3 days before the first exam was due", super chill guy and you can use all your notes on every exam

I took this class online but it was the easiest class Ive ever taken. The work is spread out and its extremely fair amounts of work. its up to you when you complete the units, just before the set exam dates. you can use your notes on the exams. he's really nice and open to questions. 100% recommendation.

Beck is a good teacher and he's always real understanding, its just that there's a LOT when it comes to Greek 121. The language is hard so if you aren't like consistently studying the vocab words every week then you're pretty much done for. You sight read and translate in class too so be prepared for that. There's weekly online homework and tests.

If you are looking for an easy A definitely take this professor. You do all the work on a website. You are only graded on completion for the assignments and the tests are literally just questions copied from the assignments and are all open note. Very easy class

I needed this Medical Terminology class for my degree, but honestly if you just need a filler class and an easy 100 take it! you do have to pay for the website but it's worth it. there are 4 exams, all open note. I copied and pasted what is on the slides and used that, it was so easy! Dr.Beck responds to emails so quickly and is very nice!

Im surprised the university allows this for credit because it was so easy. Everything is done on an online platform/textbook, everything is open note, and you never hear from the professor because it's honestly not necessary. The only downside is you have to pay to access the homework and tests and its $100+ but other than that, its fine.

Super easy class, took 230 online and the homework is pretty much the exam so do the homework and screenshot it because you can use notes on the exams. Content was easy to learn and straightforward. He is really good about responding to emails quickly, especially in exam blocks.

Great guy. The class is pretty much just through an online course, but at one point the textbook site logged me out during an exam and I wasn't able to resume the exam- I emailed prof with my issue and he allowed me to retake the exam. I found the class to be super interesting, as well!

He reaches out to let the class know when exams open up and when they close. Everything was online based. However, if you had questions, he'd be willing to answer.
