Mark is outgoing and friendly, and extremely dedicated and passionate about the work he does. He is always thinking up new and innovative ways to make the material more dynamic, interesting, and engaging. He cares about his students and their well being, and is an excellent professor, and human being. By far one of the best teachers I've ever had.

Great class. Mark was fun, interesting and quirky from the first day. He uses different media, visuals, props, group exercises and out of class activities to reinforce material. This is a very self exploratory class. If you come with an open mind you will leave with a much better understanding of yourself.

I thought the class was very informational. He was able to explain the topics very well. He got the class involved and used metaphors to get his point across which made it easier to learn. I would take another one of his classes if he was going to be at my campus again.

EASY class and very fun and interesting. His teaching style could be easily compared to Hilary Swank in "Freedom Writers". Very engaging in the class room, and although the work is easy, I feel like I learned so much not only about Psychology, but also about myself. TAKE THIS CLASS!

Great Instructor! Yes, his teaching is unorthodox (which some mistake for unorganized) but the class is psychology and human relations. He believes you need to know yourself to have good human relations. If you honestly do the work it's a phenomenal class, some students say life changing. He is a passionate teacher who gives his all. I absolutely LOVED his class! All the people I've met I strongly feel I'm going to keep in contact with for a long time. He is definy not afraid of pushing our limits if for the sake of understanding ourselves and the course. He's also a part-time comedian as well and that's always a plus.

Very unconventional class. You will grow in this class if you make yourself available. Requires participation, not a class you can sit in the back taking notes and expect to skate through. OH MY GOODNESS WHERE TO BEGIN! If you're looking for a class that's going to change your life this is the one! I'm not gonna lie, I shed a few tears today when class ended. Mark definitely keeps things interesting. You never know what he's going to say next! ('Did he really just say that?') Content is explained clearly, but lack of feedback can be frustrating if grades are important to you. Wasn't sure where I stood until after the class was over. Never a dull moment and the 4 hour class went by quickly :)

He is a great teacher. I read other comments on here at first about the challenges and I freaked out. I thought he was going to make us jump around, but it is not at all like that. The challenges and what we learned in class really changed my life. So make sure you take the class with him. He is the most amazing teacher you could ever have!

The first class you attend is very overwhelming and makes you think twice with his very long syllabus; but, this class was 100% worth it I enjoyed it and wish he taught other psychology class. His energy is amazing and hes a funny guy, makes you want to come to class just to hear what he has to say, I absolutely enjoyed learning in various ways!

Class is easy if you show up and stay on top of assignments. Only used the textbook for the first quiz, you could easily share. As for the professor, I would definitely recommend Mark. He can be intense sometimes, but it is always in humor and helps the class time go by.

Fantastic class, although it is essentially a self-assessment class. I didn't do any reading, but it's fairly easy. Pay attention in class. It's not hard to, because it's so interesting. The final is a group project, so be wary about your friends.

I loved this class. Its my favorite EVER taken. I got an A in there. Literally so many chances for extra credit it's rediculous. Super clear on any work you have to do. Took this class just to check a box. Had no interest whatsoever in psychology. Mark is an amazing instructor, great person and teaches a engaging course. Little homework, three tests which you can use notes and other classmates, short presentation at the end of the course. When other students were having finals we had a pizza party!! No Joke

Signed up to take psych with Mark because of all the great reviews. Was a little disappointed in the end, but overall the class was a good experience. I was worried on the first day because we were told that this class is participation based. I'm a quiet person but this class did not turned out bad like I thought it would. Mark is hilarious! He always made the class laugh so much with his humor. He offers a lot of extra credit and there was only three quizzes and 1 five page paper which was easy!

Bergal was fantastic. He really cares about each student and makes a huge effort (providing you do the same) to make sure each and every student passes his class. If you do take his class, do all the extra credit. If I had needed it, it would,ve made a difference of almost two full letter grades.

His tests are simple if you pay attention in class, and the textbook was useful because we got to use it during some tests. Thought provoking, introspective class. He is hilarious and does things in a fun way. However, the syllabus introduction as well as verbal emphasis is very misleading when it comes to textbook reading. He says it's optional and the course isn't dependent on memorizing verbiage. Well, I learned on the first quiz that's not true!

There aren't many professor's I would rate as a 5 after getting a bad grade. But Mark is a truly wonderful teacher. Participation is a must but if you do all the work and show up you should get an A no problem.

He engages with student and goes far and beyond, even weird examples, just to get the students to learn. I think that's pretty brave of him. Everything is due at the end of the term so don't get behind in each chapter work. He grades fairly as long as you show effort. Tests were easy, multiple choice and final is either paper or presentation.

He is so funny and caring but things get VERY serious in this class and he is so respecting. He makes his class such an open and excepting environment.

He is much less personable than you'd expect him to be (forgetful, not understanding), and the syllabus is overwhelming. Take notes on it as you'll get docked.

Being in his lecture is like going to an interactive standup comedy performance that will make you grow and understand yourself better on a whole new level. Truthfully, I took this course two terms ago. Yet, I'm writing this because it feels utterly wrong NOT to recommend him. If you enjoy a looser more free-wheeled course, and not constantly by the books, he's perfect. He genuinely makes you look into yourself. I've never cried in a class before his. Mark was 100% the best professor I've ever had. He knows how to transform a class of people who don't even know each other into a little family and you can tell he cares about his students as well. Homework assignments were fun and helped reflect on my own personal life which is beneficial to everyone. 100% would recommend him as a teacher.

Mark is quite amazing if I do say so myself. Though slightly disorganized as far as when things are due and updating D2L so you know your grades (All he does is check the front of a paper so getting it handed back isn't helpful)... He is WORTH IT. Only real difficulty I found in this class was opening up. Otherwise the environment is caring/kind.

Mark made this class interesting and engaging since day one. He gives you the material at the beginning of the term and you follow along as the course goes on. The textbook was used but not as much, was mostly used for group work. He gives chances for extra credit as well that can "make up" a bad quiz score.

Mark Begral is one of my favorite Professors at PCC! I had him for PSY 101 Fall of 2019, and PSY 240 Winter of 2020 (which he only teaches once a year!) One of my all time favorite classes, material is taught so well, and you bound with everyone in the class. Textbook will be needed, but I advise you to rent it if you can. Keep a schedule as well!

The class environment is comfortable and it helps if you allow yourself to really open up and be honest with yourself. He's a little confusing on when things are due and hes slow to update grades but TAKE HIS CLASS!!!

Absolutely wonderful teacher, just a very odd online setup so be prepared to adapt to it, due dates are all posted together, quizzes given through emails, and has a "Book of Notes" which also lists extra due dates which aren't listed on the due dates page.

You will definitely come out a better and much more educated person after taking his awesome class. Don't just look for an easy A, look to learn something important.

I really enjoyed Mark's lectures. He comes across as very earnest and genuine, and encourages the students to really make themselves vulnerable in the effort of understanding themselves better. I took this class online but wish it could have been in person! He isn't good with technology and it comes up a lot, but I felt it was a great class.

Take this class! You learn so much and he's hilarious. Never a dull moment and an easy A. You won't regret taking this class. :)

He is hilarious and very good at what he does. His lectures are unique like none I have ever taken. Truly an amazing and interesting experience. Definitely take him. You don't even need to buy the book he basically takes the most important information and writes them on a PDF for you. You will learn a lot about the human mind, great stuff!

TAKE MARKS CLASS!!!! If I could have him as a professor for every single class, I would! He is THE best!! His lectures were engaging, thorough, funny and inspirational. Classwork is mostly focused on how you connect to the material and you don't feel overwhelmed with the workload. I learned a lot about psych and myself. I highly recommend!!

Mark's PSY101 class is a unique experience. He's unconventional but engaging, and really makes you think. The workload is manageable, and the material is fascinating. unstuck ai was a lifesaver for study prep.
