Very knowledgeable and quick witted. His stories were the best and he always made sure I was on track. He taught me not only the course material but inspired me to want to be a teacher.
Funny teacher that added his personal experience to the academic theories being discussed. Graded quick and always gave feedback that was helpful. Very flexible with military students with turning in work. All around cool guy!
Professor Bond is a fair but demands excellence. You had better use APA if you want to survive. If you’re serious about learning take his class. Your opinion is welcome. If your looking to cruise this isn't the playground for you.
A little full of himself.
Mark is a solid professor. He demands a lot from his students. If you can't follow written directions you will be eaten alive.
Very helpful when dealing with military students.
This guy rocks. Mr. B keeps it real and explains things clearly. His emails are funny.
Mark is an excellent teacher and I highly recommend him to CJ majors.
Mark B is a demanding instructor. There is a lot of writing in the class. Be prepared and don’t submit work late. If you are disciplined and want a real education this guy delivers. Grades work fast with detailed comments to improve upon.
Uses a lot of discussion boards. Very fast grader and gives helpful comments with grades. I liked how his class is set-up.
He has a way of busting your balls, but making you feel good about it. He is kind of like the big brother that will hurt you to demonstrate he is tougher. Then does something nice so you won’t tell Mom on him. :)
Very helpful
Great class that was well organized
cool guy who grades fast
Great Instructor. He lets you know what he expects and grades accordingly. Very quick in all of his responses.
I felt like I was in a real class with his voice feedback. Grading was fast and real life stories were not only funny but helpful. I also like his Harley. :)
Mr. B expects you to work hard in his online class. No free ride with this guy. Fast and fair grader if you submit homework on time. I liked his realistic style and friendly emails. I would take another class he teaches.
The best professor at AMU! He is always available to answer questions and gives good directions. SFC C. Lopez
Good Instructor, fairly high amount of writting, but grades fair and quickly. He is strict on APA and very active in the discussion board. The instructor is quick with return emails. Not a lazy professor and he stays on top of the class.
Very helpful and understanding of military students who are deployed and don?t have a lot of internet time. Highly recommend to all military students deployed and in the world.
helpful and grades really fast
Mark Bond is Da?Man. He posted the weekly college football scores by emails every Saturday night to me while in Iraq. I enjoyed his class and stories. He was a friend first and teacher second. I finish my degree this December after 5 years. Yea!!!!
Friendly instructor who cares about criminal justice students. I recommend taking at least one of Mark B classes.
Very active instructor who challenges the class. Very strict on APA Style. If you really want to learn take a class with Mark B.
The fastest grader at apus. Best online class i have taken.
Very quick grader and answered email very quickly. Appears to enjoy teaching and is very helpful. You need to read the book and pay attention to APA style. Overall a very good professor. This is the third class I have taken with him and he has been challenging in each one. He is knows his topic.
Prof. Bond is the fastest grader I've had anywhere. He's replied to my emails within 24 hours every time and will help you with anything. He's also the most ineractive professor I've had on the discussion boards. He posts almost as much as all the students do. He gives a lot of examples from his experience too. He's the best professor I've ever had
Its obvious Mark likes to teach and truly cares about us. He post many news articles about what we are discussing. It really showed you how the lessons apply to the real world. The only professor I have had who allows you to really give your opinion in the discussions and we had some really cool debates. Made the class really interesting.
Prof. Bond was very helpful with class and would highly recommend him to anyone at AMU.
The class is challenging. Writing expectations and the use of APA Style is demanding. I like how the instructor added current news clips and articles that related to the class topics. This made learning fun. Fast grader, I think he lives online, ha-ha!
Hey was very attentive and extremley helpful. He made the class fun and easy to get into.
Mark Bond is a GREAT professor! Always keeps things interesting and constantly posting current events inside the clasroom to get new covnersations going. Not an "easy" professor so to speak, you need to know your stuff and he is always willing to help!
Fun instructor, VERY FAST GRADER. Reasonable amount of work but easy to manage. I was taking 3 8 week classes and I didn't have any problems. Tests are untimed and open book.
Prof. Bond is a fast grader and gives good feedback. He responds promptly to emails and will contact you via phone if that is preferred. The only negative is Prof. Bond is obsessed with APA format. He will take a considerable amount of points for minor mistake with APA.
By far the best and most active instructor at APU. He does demand you learn APA formatting, but gives you the tools to do so. Fast grader and friendly in his emails. There is a lot of library research in the class. I would take another class with Mark B.
Prof Bond is very prompt, fast grader, with instant email replies. Always engaged with students either by commenting on their posts or constantly adding articles and questions to keep the class busy.Yet, tough accepting other opinions or objections.Cost me 30 points for not adding references in DB,and got mad when I objected.
Excellent teacher. Balances knowledge of material with knowledge of mechanics of writing. Not afraid to give positive feedback to students.
Is strict on APA format. Uses the newest edition, which isn't what all Instructors use. When asked to clarify mistakes made, wouldnt do so. He grades your work quicly, but doesn't tell you how he came to that grade. When I asked for help he didn't respond for a week and told me to read my materials.
Fast graded, offered good helpful feedback, returns emails quickly, we even talked on the phone twice so I could figure out how to use the library. The negatives were low class interaction, everything happened on Sunday so it made for a late night.
Prof Bond is an engaging instructor with excellent feedback. The best part of the course was that he kept it interesting and relative. The worst part was that he weighs grades too heavily on APA formatting, to the exclusion of subject content of papers. I lost too many grade points for APA. Its not a writing course.
Extremely fast grader. He is very strict on the usage of correct APA format, which is understandable because it is a research class. He was not very helpful when I emailed questions. Some answers probably were right under my nose, but still. Most professors have no problem helping you out right off the bat.
As long as you stay active and use APA format you will do fine. He is the most active professor I have had at AMU and the best. He grades fair and firm, I would highly recommend taking some of his classes.
Mark B is a fast grader, and gives good comments to help. He is extremely active in the class and was helpful. He held the standards the entire class. I am a better writer then I was before his class.
The best instructor in the CJ program, hands down. He posted videos, gave helpful feedback, kept sending motivational emails and postings to the class board. Good tough professor who I felted cared about me as a person and student. Take his class and you will see why so many like him. He is a great instructor
Expect to research and write extensively on complex subjects and then receive absolutely no feedback on content and ideas, ONLY grammar and APA formatting (and expect some of the feedback to be wrong, even on those matters). Approachable for clarification, but you won't actually get any clarification. Very fast grader, though, and not unfair.
Class is fairly boring, but Prof. Bond makes it interesting with relevant posts to provide examples. Extensive weekly posts and make sure that you are brushed up on APA formatting.
This is the 2nd class I have taken with Mark B. He is a fast and fair grader. I have learned a lot about APA and how to find references. He comments on my paper and showed me my mistakes. I also learned how to use my Word document to help edit my paper in APA and didn’t know that before this class.
This is the second class I took with Prof. Bond. The first class was much, much easier. But as an instructor, he is great. This particular class was tough, because I didn't really understand anything in it but I still managed to pull a B with some work. You can't go wrong with Prof. Bond.
The main focus of all of the assignments during the course is your thesis paper. Professor Bond is one the best instructors at the school and I highly recommend him. He submits videos that are both helpful and informative, some are lighthearted as well. Do yourself a favor and take any course offered by him. You won't regret it.
Just completed Professor Bond's Stress Management in Law Enforcement class and it was fairly easy. He graded very quickly and gave me all but one 100s. The only problem with him is that although he gives you 100 on discussion post, he will not correct your writing up until the final research paper. Still received an A though. He was great overall.
Great instructor. Fast and fair grader. Really cares about his students. Shares stories and video clips to make learning fun. Easy to talk to on the phone as well.
Fast grader, but really strict. Not willing to accept any reason for late submisisons; not flexible and not willing to work with you. Does provide feedback that will help you.
As many have stated Professor Bond is a very fast grader and provides alot of feedback. He is strict on his grading but let you know why he docked points. Make sure to do more then the minimum on forum posts. Do your initial plus your required perr responses and then do a couple extra peer responses. I would take another one of his classes
He seems to be ok, just not helpful
Very active in talks and answers emails fast. It was a good class.
Good guy who truly seemed to care about me and other students. This was my first college class and I did not know what to expect but I have confidence I can earn my degree now. His videos in the class talk were cool as well.
Fast grader with details of how I earned my points. I would take more classes if he teaches different things.
capstone course was centered around a 15-20 page research paper of whatever topic you desire. Class was very difficult as it is a long paper and he is VERY strict on APA format. He gives really good feedback though that will help you increase your grade and not make the same mistake. Also a few 500 forums and annotated bibliography. Overall not bad
Professor Bond is a great teacher! He is always helpful in answering your questions and concerns, and even worked with me on an extension after I spent a week in the hospital. The work is definitely not easy and requires effort, but he grades fairly and gives you a chance to correct errors. Would definitely take a class with him again!
Professor Bond takes off a lot of points due to APA grading. I ended up loosing interest in the subject due to the lack of grading on content and subject matter. I have a few classes left and it seems as if APA is all that matters for graduation and not subject content. I will skip a semester just to avoid being in his class again.
Professor Bond graded fairly and fast. He hounded the class on using peer-reviewed journal articles. The feedback was detailed and helpful. Answers emails and posted addition articles and other helpful material each week.
Very particular about references and will deduct points for the smallest thing. Tough grader. Only wants references to be from last 5 years & will reiterate it until you find current sources. The class wasn't too hard, but you definitely have to work for your grade (but not a bad thing). Not sure if I would take another class with him.
Mr. B was a very engaged professor the entire semester. I am a better academic writer after this class and understand more about peer-reviewed articles.
APA format and grammar is all that matters to Professor Bond. I don't think he even reads the papers, just runs them through an APA/grammar/flow computer program. Will literally dock you multiple points for a colon out of place in a reference line. Was very disappointed, I learned nothing in his class except APA style.
Mark B was far the best professor I have had at APU. Fast grader with details so you can learn from mistakes and build your research and writing skills. Had an emergency and he worked with me. I would take another class with him.
Professor Bond was extremely helpful with detailed feedback that helped me understand my mistakes. I like the class designed of one step at a time. I learned more about college writing in this class then all others combined. Very active in the class and uses blogs to add writing tips.
The best professor I have had in my three years at APU. Was active each week in the class discussions and graded as soon as the assignment was due. As a few have mentioned, he does not give grades away. I feel I am ready for graduate school now and my confidence is sky high after this class. I would recommend taking classes with this professors.
This was my first college class after a long break. Dr. Bond helped me with how to use the online library, college references, apa writing, and my rusty writing skills. Dr. Bond was a fast grader. I liked his style and how he asked additional questions. The students in my class were friendly as well. This was a good experience for my first college
I loved this class from the interaction from my classmates and the timely feedback from the instructor was consistent throughout the course. I would take another class with Mark.
Dr. Bond was the first professor that actually took the time to help me with my academic writing. I feel this class helped me advance my academic writing and knowledge of ethical problems facing the justice system. Not an easier grader but explains what is needed to improve.
This was the most difficult academic writing that I have done to this point. Dr. Bond graded quickly and offered excellent feedback to help me improve. Overall, this class is excellent and Dr. Bond was very active in the class.
I was totally intimidated when I first started this class. Mark B was a great mentor and helped me focus on producing a paper that I was proud of in the end. It took some time but I did it. Fast grader with detailed helpful. I feel I learned a great deal in this class and understand APA Style.
Out of all of the professors I've had at APUS, Mark shines the brightest. He was engaging and helpful and doesn't leave you "hanging" when you feel left out or have a question. As decorated as he is, he teaches the 101 stuff w/ease and efficiency and gives positive, helpful feedback. I wish Mark Bond could be my professor for more classes!
This was a practical and useful class between theory and applying stress management lessons. Grading was completed on time. Dr. Bond was very active throughout the class.
Professor Bond is by far one of the best teaches I have had I a long time! Will there be a lot of reading? Yes, there is quite a bit of reading, however its not anything difficult to understand. Professor Bond does not miss a beat to let you know if you are headed in the right direction in regards to is comments on your assignements.
Be prepared to do lots of reading! You must know APA format I missed out on a few points for being careless. Try not to wait till the last minute to complete your final exam. ( its a 2000 word essay in APA formatting)
Pros: expert on subject matter, very fast grader, and clear grading criteria. Cons: takes off a lot of points for APA and will complain if you do not cite everything you write. Tough grader to say the least. 2000 word paper for final was a bit much for an 8 week undergrad online class. Do not take this guy if you have a lot going on in life.
Best professor I had at APU. Focused on content and college level writing. Was very active in the class, asking additional questions. The exams are essay style, but they are opened long enough to work off line. Never was taught formatting until this class. I feel more confident and I hope to take more classes Dr. Bond teaches. Highly recommend if y
This was my first college class and I learned a great deal about how to write at this level. Dr. Bond encouraged me and gave me confidence that I can earn my degree.
Dr. B. inspired and coached me the entire class. He believed in me and this was motivating. This is a tough class with a 20+ paper. He graded fast and provided helpful resources that were easy to use. Best professor and I wish I had taken more of his classes along the way. Best news, I am now a college graduate!
This Prof. was a tough grader in the fact that he had a requirement of having a set number of references for each forum, but did not have it listed in the syllabus. I sent him a private message about week three after he consistently gave me a grade in the mid-80s. was missing the required number of references. Overall I would take this class again
The best professor by far. Provides excellent resources to improve your academic writing. Shares stories to make the learning real. I plan to take more classes he teaches.
Accepts no late work whatsoever!! Very specific on what he thinks apa format is... which is not generally the textbook way. Will grade down if you don't post on multiple days. Refused to accept my final late and even though I had kept an A throughout the entire class, didn't count it at all giving me a D in the class.
The best professor I have had at APUS. Excellent feedback on academic writing along with templates and examples. No free tropheis handed out in this class. Work for your grade and stay active and this class is managable.
Dr. B is very active and fast grader. Gives detailed and helpful guidance in the discussions and papers. Easy to chat with and I hope to take additional classes he teaches.
He thinks that he knows more about APA than Purdue Owl. When asked specifically how he would like References and Works cited he sent links to referenced articles that he had written. His APA style was against every other 300 and 400 class professors expected.
Best professor I have had in my two years ar APU. Gives detailed feedback and helpful when emailing. Offers templates and resources that are helpful and easy to use. Looking forward to taking 308 and 499 with Mark B.
Dr. B made the class fun and rewarding. Theory to job was discussed. First time I understood the importance of using peer-reviewed journals and APA. I feel like I took a big leap forward in my ability to produce college work in this class.
I enjoyed the class. Great class discussions was my favorite part. Two exams and a paper. Not too light or too heavy on assignments.
Mark Bond isn't my least favorite teacher but I still wouldn't take him again. He was not specific in how many resources for initial forum posts and how many resources should be cited when responding to classmates. He docked points for a reason I didn't understand and did not comment if I needed to add something for next time. Wouldn't take again.
Mark B is a tough grader and expects you to produce college level work. I was able to understand why journal articles are import to use and my writing improved. Just use the APA Style help guides and ask questions. Responds to emails fast. I hope to take more of his classes in the future. Fast grader.
This was a fun and rewarding class. Dr. Bond participated in the discussions and asked many questions that made me think deeper then the required readings. He responded to everyone in the class, not just me. He grades fast and his comments are helpful with your writing. Grading gets tougher with the paper; however, just follow directions.
This was a fun class and the professor worked with me while deployed.
This class and prof are both a gem. He shared his experience and how it related to the topics with stress, and allowed the class to also share military or police experience. This made the class fun and great experience. The grading was tough but fair. He gives good feedback and grades fast. I hope I have him in other classes.
Weekly Forums 350-500 words, Research Paper, Midterm, and Final Exam. If you are able to take Prof. Mark Bond, please do so! Very Easy Grader, not tough on APA format, but will critigue you. Grade assignements on time and participate with his students! If I could take every class with this teacher, I would not second guess the opportunity.
Breaks class down into weekly 500 word responses plus two 250 word responses to classmates. This formula repeats for all 8 weeks and the use of scholarly sources is required.
I thought I was taking an elective but I was never once graded on my content and only on APA format, and be aware he uses a different edition than any other professor I have ever had. Forums are all redundant and when asking for clarification got a very vague answer. 2000 word paper was redlined for APA remarks and no comments on the paper itself.
This was a practical class that help me understand law enforcement stress. I also learned the term information literacy, which I never knew. I learned APA Style 7th edition with the help from Mark B. I recommend the class to LEOs.
The prof worked with me when I was deployed and graded quickly. He provided extra resources including a template for the paper. He was easy to talk with and gave detailed feedback on why I lost points. This helped me in other classes as well. I would take his classes again
Caring professional who gives good feedback and corrections. Works with students to insure learning and understanding. Highly recommend.
He is very active in the class and engages in a way that challenges but improves your learning prospective. Makes valuable suggestions to improve on writing skills. Outstanding professional
Very first week I was marked down for references. I emailed Dr. Bond and he said one thing to correct my APA. Next week I got marked down again. Every week he told me something else to change. He should have told me everything the first time I asked. Its as if he wanted to always mark his students down so he never said what you did wrong.
This was a great class with a lot of interaction. Theories were placed into real problems occurring today. Many additional resources were provided. Grading was clear and if you stay active you will be fine.
Excellent class! Dr. B helped me narrow a topic and even shared journal articles that were helpful. Gave constructive feedback quickly that helped me with the formatting. One of the best professors I have had a APU.
Excellent feedback and great interaction when asked for assistance. Very involved in the course.
Great professor, had a weekly discussion post and two responses due each week. Mid-term and final consist of answering a few questions and a final paper that wasn't ridiculously long. Definitely will be looking for him again in other classes I have to take.
Dr. Bond has a genuine and caring way of responding to the discussions by adding his personal experiences. He genuinely cares to learn from the students. I liked that he was not crazy on the discussion minimums, especially if your post or response had substance. I had a great time learning in his class. I would take another course by Dr. Bond.
He is a strict grader. A real stickler for formatting the references portion on assignments. I used to pull 100s and no less than 98s on papers and discussion questions but I with Mark I could never get more than a 95%. He has a website he references for how he wants it (his personal apa 7th edition site). Overall, good professor.
Tougher grader focuses only on citations. He grades papers/discussions without reading. The discussion topics are outdated; I will never recommend taking his class to anyone whose career focus is Organized Crime. STAY AWAY!!!!!
This was a fun class that allowed students to place criminology theories into examples of how they explained crime. The professor was active in the discussions and graded timely with usable feedback to correct mistakes. I would text him questions and he would always answer. I feel I am a better writer and have more confidence in my writing.
This was my second class with Dr. Bond, my first towards my Masters. Great professor and I would definitely take his class again. Some may say he is a tough grader but if you follow instructions you will be fine. I did not receive a 100 on anything in this course. Dr. Bond will give you good feedback for you to improve on future assignments. Easy!
Dr. Bond is amazing, and cares about his students. He grades so easy and provides good feedback. As my first year back in school completing my master's degree I thought it was going to be hard. Definitely taking his classes more then once. My recommendation is to follow the instructions and take his feedback.
He is very particular about APA format & be sure to give in-text citations for everything- even if it is prior knowledge you have. He was unforgiving and not understanding with some feedback and email responses- especially since he understood this had been my first masters course. He grades very promptly and is straightforward w/ assignments.
Very active in class discussions, which made learning enjoyable. Even though I got an A- in the class he wrote me a letter to get into doctoral program.
Dr. Bond is an amazing professor who provides excellent feedback and is very involved in the course. The class allows you to apply criminology theories in practical examples. Definitely take his class - he grades easy and is super helpful. I also found Unstuck AI great for study prep.
He is all about APA format. Never addressed the topic not sure if he just wants to be liked or meets learning requirements.
This was a great class. Professor and class was active. Gives helpful improvements to help improve writing standards and fast grader.
First of all, I got an A+ in the class. However, I can say that the feedback for homework is lacking. When you ask for clarification or challenge the grade, he takes offense. The feedback is 'cookie-cutter'. It was clearly not updated and your follow-up question typically has nothing to do with your writing. Won't take his classes again.
Mark B was an active professor engaging in the class discussion and going beyond just the assigned topic. This extra effort gave me a deeper understanding on ethics and how they apply not just to policing but society. My paper was graded within hours of submission. I would take another class with Mark B and have signed up for another this fall.
