I failed the first two exams, but he tutored me outside of class and I ended up with a C for the final grade. There aren't very many professor that would do that. He will help you if you ask.

Dr. Brinkman is a great professor. He teaches a very organized course and his tests are straight from the notes. His tests are very fair and rather easy.

i think dr. brinkman is underrated. i love him to death. he's so quirky and awesome. he loves ants a lot. his class is really really really really hard, and he freaks you out at frist because he's kinda weird... but once you get to know him he's totally cool in a weird kinda way.

I loved this class. He is a great professor and really knows his Biology. Labs were easy and fun. I would recommend him for summer semester. Oh and he does love fire ants.

He specializes in insect, so he knows just enough about the rest of biology. He is kind of a geek, but he does try to be a funny geek and i think he is also hard of hearing. overall he's a pretty cool guy, hates cell phones, uses the book sparingly so u dont really need to buy it, tests are multiple choice but u do need to study.

I loved his class. He mixes his own experiences with lectures from the book and some interesting movies. His class is do-able.

No cell phones allowed (why do you need one?), extra credit for attending & promptness(no-brainer), so "moving on with great exuberance..." READ.STUDY.LEARN.

Overall a pretty good teacher. He is very educated in his field of study, and he doesn't care if you don't come to class, but don't come late or leave early. He covers just about everything, but it is condensed well and realitively painless. Not too bad of a teacher...I recomend him, but I promise you that you'll be there the ENTIRE TIME!!!! :)

All you do is write in this class. Teacher is kinda weird especially on test days. You have to stay in class til the very last minute even if there isnt anything planned or he will take points off your grade. His test are pretty reasonable.

You have to take tons of notes and it is a pretty boring class. He counts down the seconds till it is time leave. His tests are not all that hard, there is just a lot of information to study.

Don't be late to class and don't even think about getting out early. Tests are multiple choice with a couple of fill in the blanks and maybe a diagram. Study as you go and don't try to cram becaue it is way too much to memorize overnight. NO CELL PHONES you don't need it anyway.

He love ANTS..You Write alot in Lecture, but as long as you come to EVERY class and Labs, take good notes and STUDY you can make a good grade. It is boring and you NEVER leave early but I would take him for Biology. If you miss a class or you are late he does take points off your grade, but he also offers extra credit...

YOU HAVE TO TAKE NOTES! Be prepared to take a lot of notes, I dropped his class because it was killing me, he's a nice guy and professional, but his structure is missing something. His tests are not hard but make sure you take notes to get a good grade. LAB on the other hand is kind of hard.

TAKE NOTES! You don't need the book but you have to take notes! seriously...thats the only thing you need for the test...notes can be like 40 pgs though. He does have lab quizzes so just study the packet and you'll get an A. He makes funny jokes. Remember: MAY WE PRESS ON WITH GREAT EXUBERANCE

Took him for 1107 and 1112. Made a C the first time and a B for 1112. Very Easy if you STUDY. DOn't BUY the BOOK you'll be mad if you do. he does give extra points on random days for having it but aint worth the chedder. Powerpoints come straight from the book and the term paper is super easy. DONT plagerize FOLKS. it aint worth it. strongly recome

Great professor!! Class was REALLY easy!! If you come to class you pass. Tests come straight from notes and he doesnt like late people. He loves ants and talks about his accomplishments alot! You will never get out of class early and he's never late or absent.DO NOT BUY YOUR BOOK!I did and it was pointless unless youre going to be absent alot.

DO NOT BUY THE TEXTBOOK! This class was way easier than I expected. Don't get me wrong..people do fail, but if you study you will be fine. You will take TONS of notes. Brinkman is pretty cool and funny-ish. STUDY HARD, DON'T be late, & NO CELL PHONES.

I had him for both 1111K and 1112K. You take a lot of notes, but all of his test come right from them and are all multiple choice. You take 3 or 4 test, plus 2 or 3 lab test, and do a verbal presentation. He really loves biology and is interested in what he teaches. Just make sure you turn your cell phones off and he is happy as a lark.

Everyone else has written pretty much what his class is. Be prepared to write many, many notes. He does allow laptops, so if you type faster than you write, there's an option. If you have questions that he doesn't know- he won't give you a BS answer, he'll think about it for a minute, and straight-up tell you he doesn't know.

Professor Brinkman made biology interesting with his corny jokes unrelated to science. However, as mentioned previously be prepared to take a ton of notes but that prevents students from having to buy the book....so High Five professor for that. His tests are MC mainly and a few fill in blanks but if you study his notes you can pass easily.

He is a great professor. As long as you study you shouldn't have any problems. He's a nice guy, but I don't think I'd ever want to get on his bad side. Overall I would love to take him for all my bio classes..

This is a great teacher. You will write your arm off. He gives you lots of tests and they come straight from the notes. You dont need a book. He also tell corny jokes, but overall i learned a lot in his class.

You get what you put in. Not super easy but not hard. Tons of notes but if you write it all && study them you'll definitely pass. DO NOT NEED THE BOOK! I would say its mandatory to attend class(give you extra points if you don't miss any). Apply yourself, you go it.

Brinkman is a very cool guy! His jokes are funny at times, but I enjoyed being in there. I love that he gives us notes to write. His test are easy. Brinkman is to the point and simple. You just have to study because there are a lot of notes but in the end its worth it!

Love this professor. Took his two classes BIOL 1107 and 1108. I got As both class. Test go straight from the notes. Test are not so easy but at least you would know what section the test will rely on. His notes from text book are concise and precise. Recommend his class. It is possible to get A in his class if you attend class and take notes.

Dr. Brinkman is amazing! He demands respect from his students, but its college! Time to grow up! You do not need the book, but you will write several pages of notes everyday. Tests are easy if you study the notes. If you show interest in his class, he will be willing to help if you need it. I highly recommend Dr. Brinkman if you need Biology! =)

I love Dr. Brinkman! He is very clear on what he expects from his students (don't be late and no cell phones) and he will not put up with disrespectful students! But if you respect him, he will respect you! The tests come directly from the notes. You can easily get an A if you take good notes and study!

Dr. Brinkman is overall a good teacher. Waits till the last minute to let class out. Reads from the slides the entire class. Tests are from the slides. 3 lecture, 3 lab; this is including finals. Show up to class, don't be late. His pet peeves are "Don't be late; Don't use your cell phones." follow this, you'll do fine. A lot of notes.

Over-all he was a good professor. You only have 3 grades in the class including that final. All he does is lecture, so you have to take notes. That's all that is going to be on the test. But you have like 20 pages of notes for a 50 question test. It is multiple choice. He takes off points if you're late to his class. But attendance isn't required.

I took Dr. Brinkman over the summer. He was a great professor- not too difficult, yet I learned so much!! Make sure you are ON TIME. And by on time, I mean by the world clock.

Dr. Brinkman is great. All the test questions come straight from the powerpoints, so if you take good notes you'll ace his tests. Make sure to be in class EARLY. This bio class is designed for Science/Bio majors so the subject itself won't be "easy", but Brinkmann makes it fun and interesting. Highly recommend.

Great professor. I'd recommend taking this class during the summer.

A test could cover three or more chapters, but all the questions come straight out of his notes. He breaks down all the information so it's not too hard to pass if you take notes and study. Do not ever be late for class. Turn your phone off and keep it put away. He takes this class very seriously.

Wish I could take all of my Biol classes with him. Uses power point that u copy notes from. If you study you will pass. Exams are multiple choice straight from notes. Lab tests are easier, same thing study and pass. He demands respect, but not rude about it. Turn phone off, don't talk in class, don't be late. Don't forget eye gear for lab.

Awesome professor! Lecture questions come straight from PP and he gives extra credit for lab assignments and for never skipping/being late to class. Hes quirky and tells a lot of dad jokes but 10/10 would recommend for any class he teaches.. also no phones and strict about punctuality!!!

He is great!! His lectures are only boring if you do not allow yourself to be interested in the subject. He gives PLENTY of opportunities for extra credit;he is clear in his grading criteria (grades on point system which is not confusing at all). Passionate & humorous. Only graded on lecture and lab exams so STUDY! Put in the work; you'll be fine.

Dr. Brinkman makes a lot of "punny" jokes that relates to the material, which was actually helpful to me. He only grades on tests so there are not many opportunities for grades, but there are a lot of opportunities for bonus points. His tests are literally straight from the lecture notes though. I honestly enjoyed his class, and would recommend him

You absolutely have to study for his tests. They do come directly from his powerpoints so if you study you will do fine. You get what you work for. His jokes are the best and he does give extra credit.

Tests directly from his lecture slides and waits to make sure everyone has written their notes before he moves on. He does provide extra credit, but leaves those opportunities for the end of the semester. He values punctuality (5pts for never being late) but is understanding if you miss class. His test questions are clear and easy to understand.

Dr. Brinkman is one of the best professors I’ve ever had. His class is easy to understand, his slides are easily readable and his tests come straight from the slides. He loves jokes and keeps lecture light hearted and fun. His exams require studying but they are word for word his lab manuals and his slides. He genuinely cares. Great professor!
