Stutters a bit, but is nice & tries to help. All lectures are on powerpoint & taken straight out of the book (can highlight the text instead of writing notes). Tests are all multiple choice & none are comprehensive. Final is optional (a.k.a. can only help your grade).

His notes are word for word from the book. Make sure to read the chapters because he is not always clear. Understand all concepts and different pathways of things. Also pay attention to the different elements that are within the pathways. (you'll understand what I mean when you take the class). STUDY, this is not a blow off class.

Great teacher and gives real world examples. Very helpful. However, no amount of note taking will help. Still have to read every letter of every word in every chapter and memorize it with all you've got. Tests questions are VERY in depth. Could ask about anything. Had to take the class twice. Make sure you read and re-read everything.

His class is not impossible to pass, but you must study for his tests. His pwrpts. come directly from the textbook. I never read the book but I attended the BIO SI Sessions which helped a lot. Class attendance help too since he tells you what you need to know and what you don't. For the test study his notes and SI Tutor's review and you'll be ok.

He doesn't post his lectures online because he doesn't believe in that. The class would be more helpful if you read the textbook before hand, but that is with any class. This class is structured to weed out the week and get you ready for med school. I took this class as a first semester freshman, and no thank you. If you dont have a great background in science, youll spend hours upon hours trying to teach yourself though the textbook. 4 exams 1 being your final which drops your lowest grade. No homework no review

I don't recommend this professor. I read the chapters, studied the PowerPoints, and attended at least 3 SI sessions each week for his class, but none of that was enough to help me pass. He is very knowledgeable about biology when topics are inside of his preferred realm, but does not make good real-life connections or student-connections.

If you want to pass his exams you'll have to go to SI daily and study for a minimum of 5 hours every week as well. It's a class where he doesn't give super good descriptions of the content you're learning, he expects you to understand everything already coming in. Read the power points, because that's primarily what's on the exams. Good luck.
