Gives a lot homework and group assignments, which can be overwhelming if you dont manage your time well. He lets you choose your groups, but then doesnt grade the assignment for weeks. However, he does give a lot of extra credit and answers questions if you have any. If you do the homework and pay attention during lectures you should be fine.

Mr. Cevallos is a really fair man and I can appreciate his understanding of students having lives outside of class. There's plenty of MyLabsPlus homework assignments and the homework, but it's bearable if you pace yourself. If you have issues just communicate with him, he doesn't want you to fail and will help you so long as you reach out.

Great professor! I would definitely recommend taking him. He gives good lectures, but he takes up the whole class and sometimes lets you out late. He gives you a homework assignment after every lesson, and before every test, he gives you the chance to earn extra credit. He is very nice and understanding.

If you really apply yourself you should be able to pass this class. However sometimes it gets difficult but you have to study consistently.

Professor Cevallos was great. I failed Intermediate Algebra once but after taking him as my professor I ended up getting an A. You will pass the class if you put in time to your homework assignments and actively participate in class.

I was running out of tutor options. Then I took listening and asking questions seriously. It might seem hard at the beginning but trust me you'll make it through.

The tests are literally derived from questions given on assignments, with just different numbers, so don't worry at all, you won't regret it.

He goes very in depth in his lectures and even more so if you see him for office hours but make sure you have specific questions you'd like to ask him about. He assigns CAP assignments to groups of 2-3 students (students can choose their groups). Theres one CAP per test and sometimes the assignments are very similar to the tests. He also give a lot of extra credit opportunities and the grading criteria is extremely clear.

His class is a lot easier to pass if you do the homework, his tests are usually based off of it. Attendance isnt mandatory but the work is easier to understand when you come. He is always available during office hours and helps with any questions you have without making you feel bad. He has practice tests for each test that count for extra credit.

He is really caring, he gives chances and I think I am about to fail the class but it is because you need time to study so be ready for it. if not you wont pass. Prof Cevallos really cares about his students, gives a lot of extra credits, and doesnt take attendance. But there are homeworks on my lab plus every week. It is an easy A if you do homeworks and practice tests.

Overall, he is a good professor. The class wont always be easy but if you work for it you can get an A. He gives a practice test before each exam that if youre able to do you should get a good grade in the exam. Definitely would take a class with him again.

Took this prof. Last semester for intermediate algebra, really liked his teaching style and took him again this semester. His notes are very word heavy for a math class and can take a little time to get used to, but it's all with the intention to help you truly understand the material. Tests can be pretty long; there was one with 50 questions on it. He gives extra credit but it's based on concepts that aren't fundamental to the class. Also group assignments suck.

Professor Mark Cevallos is very passionate about teaching his students and I one hundred percent recommend him. If you want a easy class where you don't learn, then don't even bother taking it with him. He goes over problems that the students don't understand so they can fully understand every step and trick he does. He is very intelligent.

Along the course it was all up to the student wether they wanted to pass or fail, the lectures were clear and he would take time to explain even the simplest of questions. I took this class for the third time, I hated the other two profs so much that I dropped out. Prof Cevallos made everything so easy, the class was still challenging, but all the work and notes he gives will help you as long as you study. While there seems to be a lot of homework, it is all there for a reason, and is meant to help you pass the test. That is just the nature of the statistics course. Group projects are really annoying but he posts class notes and videos of each class. He is very detailed with his lessons, but there are a few rare things here and there from the HW that we needed to ask about that he missed/ skipped over a little too quickly in the lessons. It did take him a while to get test grades back to us, though.

I took him as a mini and it's a lot of work with mylabsplus, tests, and CAP assignment but he explains his lectures very well, records his lectures, and posts his notes where you can have access to them. Great professor. I took professor Corvallis forcollege algebra in a summer mini term. It was challenging but he makes it very clear what is expected of you on day one. He also gives partial credit on some assignments which is great.

I took this professor for Mini Summer A. He knows how to teach math. 3 tests and the final. Lots of mylabsplus hw due at the end. Cap assignments are due a day after the class and prepare for the test. Nice attitude, answers questions thoroughly, lots of extra credit opportunity and advice on how to study.

Have had Prof. Cevallos for 3 consecutive semesters and can genuiely say he made my math experience in college as bearable as possible. I have always struggled in math but he definitely makes it seem easy if you are willing to put in the time/effort. This class takes alot of commitment and practice to be able to pass especially in a summer course.

He was a good professor but if you aren't good at statistics don't take it over a mini summer term. He offers a bunch of opportunities for extra credit and homework is a HUGE portion of your grade and can really be the factor of passing the class.

Very good a teaching heavy material.

Since I took this class during the summer (mini A) it was a little harder than usual. The only reason why is because of less time. The instructor was very understanding though, which made it a little easier. There was lots of homework to do. But that was for you to get more practice and familiar with the problems. You just have to do your work.

Mini Summer A, college algebra. The semester was very accelerated. Professor Cevallos was the best math teacher I've ever had. He was realistic about the entire course and taught thoroughly. Great notes provided online. He gave the students plenty of opportunities to earn EC and to succeed in the course. If given the opportunity I'd take him again.

Professor Cevallos was a great professor. He gave a lot of extra credit on tests, so if you weren't great at some topics you could still do well. He was very available for help, and cared about us succeeding. Do the homework he assigns though, or you'll have a hard time on the tests.

Overall a good professor who makes his expectations clear. Biggest con was that it takes him a very long time to get any grade backs for tests assignment or quizzes. So it can be difficult to gauge how you stand in the class unless you are sure of your abilities.

Had to take this class over the summer, not only was he on time to every class but he would often stay after class for a few minutes to answer questions. Also all of his lectures are recorded and put online which was great especially in a five hour class. Would totally recommend him if you have some trouble with the basics of calculus!

Professor Cevallos is a very patient person and he is incredibly eager to help you understand the material. His tests are set up with usually 20-40 points of extra credit on 200 point tests, so that's really helpful for the harder material. 4 tests and lowest is dropped. Just do a few practice problems after class and the homework and you'll be set

I took calc 1 with him and what I liked most what that he wanted you to really know what you are doing. If you were struggling with something he takes the time to make sure you understand what is going on. He gives good reviews for tests and exams and give good variety of questions for homework.

If you want to learn the concept behind calculus you should take him. Problems can be challenging but you will learn a lot in class. A lot of examples, no need to teach yourself. He likes what he does and that is motivational. His tests can be hard but he is very fair at grading them. I wish I had him for all my previous math courses.

Took this class in the summer and attendance isn't mandatory but you definitely want to show up. He's a great teacher and gives a lot of extra credit to help his students out. If you study and do the assignments he gives its not hard to do well on the test, he makes the class as easy and straight forward as possible.

This professor really cares for your success. For a 6 week course and 5 hour long class the professor worked overtime reviewing all test work to get you the points you earned. His teaching style is very modern as he offered screen recordings of the lectures and examples worked on in class which was super helpful!

I will be glad to take him again. Actually this the second class I take with him. He makes really good explanations. If you follow his instructions like do the homework that isnt much and the cap assignments you will pass with a good grade. Make sure you pay attention on class to his explanations and you will be good.

This was my first time taking summer classes in almost 15 years. Let's say I got a serious wake up call. I thought I understood math but taking Calculus I've realized I know nothing at all. But I learned a valuable lesson PRACTICE PRACTICE and MORE PRACTICE is the key to success. Professor Cevallos presents the material but you have to dig in deep.

This class was very helpful in my learning capabilities. I'm very slow when it comes to learning new math concepts and ideas, but in a way Professor made it seem so effortless that it really did help me do good in this class

There was a lot of extra credit opportunity. To get an A or B doing well on homework and tests is important. If you need help on a concept just ask questions. He will help whenever you need it.

If you are having troubles, make sure to ask questions, he will be more than glad to answer and make sure that you understand.

Professor Cevallos is truly a good professor. His lectures are a little bit fast but he pauses throughout if anyone needs help. The notes from the lectures are posted on Canvas with audio recording so incase you miss a day its there for you. If you dont show up its not impossible to get an A, but Id highly recommend it.

This professor is clear when it comes to what you need to know for the material. I did find it tough however to come back after missing a day, theres a lot of material that he covers day to day, so make sure you dont miss one!!

Really is a nice guy, I feel bad because he teachers the worst subject in the world. He genuinely cares and gives a lot of advice and announcements about the tests/homework plus EC opportunities. I will say that he does keep a quick pace and it can be easy to fall behind. Overall, I'd definitely take another math class taught by this professor.

Good teacher but the homework takes so long that its almost impossible especially if you have a job or something like that. Extremely test heavy and the tests take maybe 4-8 hours to prepare for, given you already did the work and understand the content.

The course itself was crazy and very rushed. However, Professor Cevallos is a professor that gives a lot of extra credit opportunities for those willing to put time and effort in. He consistently would ask the class for input on how the class could be fair and effective. Professor Cevallos made the best of a terrible situation.

This was an accelerated, 5 credit hour course. It was very intense and lots of work! Professor cevallos did everything he could to help us succeed. Stay on top of the class and take advantage of all the extra credit and you will do fine

This professor is great, but the class itself is absolutely terrible. Its precalc and trig combined into one class and its super fast. Professor tried his hardest but this class is new by the college and extremely hard. Dont take it, take his precalc and trig separate. Great professor, tough class. Lots of material, dont skip class.

Professor Cevallos really cares about his students, his always willing to help and answers to all the emails very quick. The class was kind of hard, but he gives a lot of practice tests that will help you get a good grade if you study. I would definitely take him again.

At the beginning of this semester I found it a bit challenging just because I wasnt a fan of Trig nor did I really understand it. Towards the second half of the semester, Pre-Calc happened to be much much more easier than Trig. This is a highly advanced course, lots of hw, but he does give extra credit & helps with you bring up your grade!!!

Even though attendance wasnt mandatory, it was still a good idea to go to each class meeting in order to get a grasp of the material.

Class goes by quickly, there is a new lesson almost every class. Printable notes, which are VERY helpful, so print them if you can. He also gives you different types of study guides to make sure youre ready for the test and not going into it blind. If you dont do the homework or come to class, you probably wont understand whats going on.

He makes really good notes and know how to make the problems understandable. He would do the problem step by step to get the answer.

Professor Cevallos is a great professor. I took his College Algebra class and it really helped me in my other math classes. He encourages questions and is available for help outside of class. Doing the homework is a must, as it is a pretty sizable portion of your grade. He does give extra credit relatively often, too.

He directed the class in a very clear manner. Offering us help was his top priority during his lectures.

Great professor! A LOAD of extra credit opportunities too. However, the class itself having both trigonometry and precalculus material to learn in just 4 months is a bit overwhelming. You definitely need to put in the work and be on top of everything, and if youre not, youre not going to do well. Dont take this class if you are a slacker.

This was the combined precalc/trig class. The pace is very quick so be prepared for an avg of 10 hrs per week studying or so. Professor seems to really like math and is good at explaining concepts but does a lot of calculations in his head and is prone to mistakes. Not sure if it was because of the nature of the class or if it's a common theme..

I took his trig class, some material was a bit more difficult than others but there is extra credit opportunity throughout the semester, also it helps to go to office hours. Although the lectures are recorded I personally find it more beneficial going in class and learning in person. He is a nice prof if you have any issues just talk to him.

I'm glad I had you as a teacher. Having HW optional is great for those who understand the topic already and those who did not quite catch it the first time and want to do more practice. All in all, I think the course is formatted inteligently with all fairness given to the students to put in the work.

Solid teacher, I liked him because of the constant homework, if there wasn't homework i would be so so lost.

He gave a lot of extra credit points and most of the homework were either group assignments or My Labs plus. He also gives you time to finish them even past the due date.

Prof. Cevallos genuinely cares about his students. He understands that Calc is hard. He does not grade homework, which is a double-edged sword. He gives a ton of tools to make sure you can succeed as long as you want it bad enough. I spent a lot of time every week doing homework and studying. His lectures are really good.

Retook him for college algebra, best decision I ever made. Lots of homework. If you're not good at math, prepare to study a ton. Stay ahead of everything. He's accessible outside of class and gives out important feedback after cap assignments and tests. Extra credit is also available too. Good luck!

Not going to lie, this class you have to work for the grade. He gives a lot of HW on MLP which helps a lot and he explains the material thoroughly. I would take his class again. My advice would be to do MLP and the CAP assignments on time and do not PROCRASTINATE.

I took this class for my general education, and the professor made the class quite easy and enjoyable. He engaged with us frequently and made the lesson easy to follow. Just be sure to do the MLM homework and CAP assignments and this class should be a breeze.

I took Math 300 with Professor Cevallos and it was one of my best classes. I've always struggled with math, but he explained things clearly and made it easy to understand. He's super organized, chill, and cares about his students. The workload wasn't too heavy, and there were lots of chances for extra credit. Highly recommend!
