Lots of material to cover and class moves very fast. Dr. C is very helpful after class and during office hours, taking as much time as necessary to drill the material into your head. Lots of real life fun stories.

Dont take this class if you dont know math. Other then that, the class should be ok. Lots of material but you can manage at least a B. Throws away your lowest exam

Great teacher, lectures are clear, he helps with the problems, always open for questions after class. he HATES labs, so you can write anything on the lab reports and get full credit. Quiz everyday (mostly for attendence)

Dr Champagne is one of those professors who makes you want to learn. He is very helpfull, when he sees you 'slipping' he will inquire of how to help you out. His tests are more than fair, great teaching teqniques, at the end of the semester you will feel that you got something out of the class.

The fact that he took so much of his time to make video lectures, breaking down problems, is a testament to his care for his students. I transfered to U of M Ann arbor shortly after taking his class, and had to take PChem (very similar to 1180) to fulfill a requirement. Dr C blew that prof out of the water... I couldn't have survived without constantly referring to notes from his class. AWESOME PROF!!!!

AMAZING! The stuff is hard. Video lectures help, OWL sucks but it's the only studying I did. Multiple choice exams, 1900 points, so passable if that's all you're looking for. He is truly at the top of MCC teaching pool. Should be how all Profs teach. Super awesome, nice, and funny as hell dude!

I met him everyday before the test to go over things I did not understand and he would do many examples until I got it. Very friendly guy. If you somewhat know chem then take it online, tests are only 20 questions.

I am planning to take Champagne again for General Chemistry II because I honestly refuse to take it with anybody else. I absolutely love this teacher, I've been at macomb for 3 years and he's one of the best. His online lectures are interesting and easy to learn from especially for a chem class. All I do is watch the lectures do the homework and I get good grades on the exams. He does not tolerate cheating though. Take him you will not regret it, love him.

Okay this is a hybrid course. So if u work 30 hrs a week this class is not for u! This is the greatest professor ever. It is simply impossible to fail his class. He literally gives guides for any quiz or exam. He takes his time lecturing but he literally gives you every little detail, no professor will ever go over everything that will be on the exam, no surprises. He makes lectures fun! I wish I could take him 1000 more times!

There's a lot of online homework but it's a good grade boost. Lab reports take time but you will get an A if you follow his in class example.

Dr. C is a very very nice and helpful instructor however the class is not an easy class. He makes it easier as his tests are much like his lectures and he is very helpful but CHEM1180 is a difficult class no doubt. He is definitly the best out of the available instructors but make sure CHEM is something you want to do becuase the class is hard.

If you ask a question, be it in class or during his office hours he will work it out with you until you are certain you understand it. Class was balanced well between lectures and book study.

I would recommend for chemistry 1000. Labs are easy to follow, each week pre labs and quizzes are timed but easy if you have documents. 4 Test are open book and timed. No surprised just do your labs each week and you will be fine

Mr. C was incredible for his class and teaching style. I had him Fall 2024 and loved it, online class for Chemistry for everyone. We picked up our supplies for labs and every Sunday we had to do one. I actually had alot of fun with them and could be completed in max 3 hours. When my apt flooded he was super understanding with me. 10/10

Do yourself a favor and take this professor, especially if you struggle with chemistry. Dr. C will show you how enjoyable chemistry can be. He doesn't try to trick you on exams and will go over in detail what you will be tested on. So much extra credit, and provides lecture videos.
