Mr. Cooper is a great teacher. His lectures are very useful; they're presented in a clear and effective manner. He's very helpful and approachable. He hardly ever gives homework, and he goes over everything that will be on the exam. I'd recommend him!

mark is a cool teacher, he is helpfull and very funny. He gives very little homework, but you will need the extra time to study for the tests, believe me you will need it, but don't worry he tells you exactly what you need to know. I love his hair.

totally agree...i never ditch his class...becoz it's so damn funny....i wish i can take it again....went to desert museum and beach for field trip...we did go to clean the wildlife scantuary for extra credit...really unforgettable

Mark is funny and entertaining. However, he is an awesome professor too. His lectures are clear, with many examples based on real life experiences. His tests are based primarily on his lectures, which means you'd need to attend class regularly. A very patient man whose willing to help when needed.

This teacher is great and actually made me want to come to class. He gives us lots of notes, and he is sooo funny! The videos he shows aren't boring either. The tests are hard, but what science tests aren't? Just study and you'll be fine. You have to go on a field trip, but you go as a group.

Cooper is a funny and entertaining teacher but he doesn't know how to make fair tests. All the tests are based on the lecture notes which are about 33 pages. There are even little trivial questions on the test! But if you study really hard and do the ec maybe you can luckily get a B in the class.

Mark is probably the best teacher I have ever had in mtsac. but still the material itself is very very hard, and there are alot of memorization. the tests and practicals are not easy, but he gives alot of extra credit.

I took BIOL 2 and BIOL 4 in the same semester, and I loved it! Hes the best professor ever! He loves his job and hes HILARIOUS! Nice guy and very, very knowlegable. You can learn a lot but MEMORIZE things!!! Its fun but its still tough. Listen to him and study his packets and youll be set!

If you want to learn and laugh at the same time take mark. Hes not easy, but if you try you will definitely do well. Hes one hilarious mofo and he will always have time to help you out.

I took it almost 2 yrs ago. Now i transferred to ucsb but still i miss mark cooper. i wanna take his class in summer just for fun. BIOL 2 is hard and he expects a lot. The exams r harder than the lecture materials. But it's fun and he cares about students.i went to his office hrs to talk about choosing UC and insights on life in general.

I would never reccomend taking a Bio class over the summer, but Mark made the class very interesting. He didnt hold back on the material at all....we had quizzes EVERYDAY and worst of all we had a cummulative final. However, I would highly recommend Mark because he's extremely funny, well organized, a great instructor, and just overall a good guy

Funny, simple and direct teacher. However, the subject is basically boring crap. There's tons of stuff to memorize about animals & plants that you don't want to know. Also if you really want to stand out in class you should make fun of his name and call him Pooper Scooper instead of Cooper.

Pretty good professor. You'll learn a lot in his class, just like you should in any bio class. But I don't think he is THAT hard tough... all you have to do is study his lecture and read the book a bit and you'll get at least a "C" for sure. "B" read the book throughly.

If you love biology, this is the teacher to take. The notes are taking mostly by his lecture, which means that it might be difficult to get all the information that he says in one class period. He teachs many classes at a time, so when he grades your paper there is little leniency. This is the kind of class were it is easy to get a C or a B.

Human sexuality...required, and crazy-liberal!!!! Be prepared to memorize boatloads of information, because the tests are HARD! He makes it very entertaining though, hilarious, he's a great teacher. if it wasn't for his teaching style i'd have hated every second of that class.

I aced this class and didnt even try that hard. The guy below me is probably one of the lesser motivated students who made my grade look inflated. Peace.

Mark is thee most hilarious professor at Mount Sac. He was extremely helpful and his lectures were understandable. The class was super hard, and taking anat 35 at the same time didn't help out. This was the hardest class Ive taken, and I'm glad I took it with Markus Coopus. If not, I would have dropped Biol 4. I ended up with a C, barely.

This guy is tooooo hard. He teaches like we're all bio majors. He can tone it down a bit for casual bio students. Tooo much info to learn even in 18 weeks. It got to the point that I would just sequence my scantron answers. Not recommended unless you're a bio major and enjoy it!!

This is a university level college course. If you plan on taking the hardest class at MT. SAC, besides Calculus 2, this is the class. Cooper tries to make it as easy as he can and his competition is not much better. If you plan on taking this class expect it to be very difficult but very fun. I goofed off for an easy C. Overrated class. If you just chunk everything and put the effort to study it, you should be able to pass this class. That being said, it's pretty difficult to get an A unless you really study a lot. If you put in the time, I'm sure it's possible (I'm talking 8+hours/week). Most interesting/funny teacher I've had at SAC this year.

i took the animal behavior class with him just for fun and it definitely was fun. easy A if you do hw and study what they tell you to study. a lot of activities so you aren't sitting around for 3 hours. he was very funny and i enjoyed when he lectured. overall would recommend this class if you like animals and need something to fill ur schedule.

He will always encourage you by saying "Too easy!". I procrastinated several times, and still managed to get an A at the end. So study and memorize till mid-night will be the best strategy!

Mark will make you laugh and make you cry (seriously). To get a good grade you will have to WORK your butt off. I took this class with Chem and Physics and I studied more for Bio than both my other classes combined. He is a really great Professor. Work VERY VERY VERY hard and you will love him.

"Too Easy" if you study, study, study! Professor Cooper is an awesome professor! I actually liked attending his class because he's a cool teacher and has a fun way teaching the subject. Has 4 Exams, 4 Practicums (lab exams), and 1 Lecture Final and 1 Lab Final; no homework unless you do the extra credit. A lot of memorization and studying needed.

This class is TOO easy. I received an A with minimal effort. Show up to class, do the homework, write down all the topics you missed on the quiz, review the study guides a few times before the test and you're guaranteed a good grade. Mark and Tim are the perfect pair to teach together. They are very different but similarly laid back.

Outstanding professor. Mark explains everything very clearly and is willing to help his students outside of class. Bio 2 is honestly 98% memorization and to do well you are going to need to put in some serious study time.

Bio 2 is a very challenging class. You have to memorize and understand a ton of information for both lecture and lab, but this guy makes it fun and interesting. He is one of the best professors at Mt Sac.I enjoyed his class very much. You rarely use the book and rely heavily on his notes.

Mark cooper was one of the more interactive and inspirational teachers i've had in my life. However his test are written by him and are not exactly that clear, they are more about specific details that are not that important. The only thing hard about this class is his implementation of Vogl's Principles, remember all 50 word-for-word.

Great professor, has super sharp memory for the tiniest details. His lectures are never boring (just overwhelming), mostly hilarious, and very informative. Prepare to work hard and put in earnest effort! The material is not difficult, but the sheer amount of info + other classes tough to juggle. Take advantage of office hours to ask questions.

Mark is probably one of the best professors I've had in a long time. Not only does he genuinely care about all his students, but he lays everything out for you very clearly. If you put the time and effort that you should into his class, you'll pass. But there's a lot of information to learn, so STUDY STUDY STUDY!!

Mark is the best professor I have had at Mt. Sac. His course is clearly laid out from the beginning. He posts the study guides with every single thing you need to know for each exam. Fill out the study guides and attend all lectures and you will get a good grade. He also keeps the class engaged with jokes. Highly recommend Mark.

Mark is an amazing professor! He really cares about all of his students, and is willing to help you. However, having said that without regularly studying over the weekends and keeping up with the material, you will not do well in the class. It requires you to sacrifice a lot of your time outside of the classroom but if you do you will be rewarded.

You have to study!!!!! start early on everything. you get a study guide to everything. he gives extra credit. do not miss class. the book is a must. you learn so much in this class. super interesting. makes you work. if you slack off you will fail. he will help you with anything you need!!! he will help you pass if you just ask.

Going into the class, I thought it was going to be easy, but it was a surprisingly tough class. I bombed the first exam due to lack of studying, but managed to finish the class with the highest grade at the end. He really makes you work for a grade, but is very fair and is willing to help anyone if they come. His lectures are very interesting.

Biggest advice I could give someone entering this class is to make friends with the people who are just as driven, if not more, to get an "A." Delegating tasks for study guides and lab packets among a group of people saves a tremendous amount of time that could otherwise be used for studying. Continuously question your efficiency in this class.

Hands down, the best biology professor I've ever taken in my college life. He is hilarious and his lectures are very interesting. With that in mind, the course is very time-consuming and you will have to put in many, many hours of studying and memorization to pass, but you will become a better student overall because of it. I highly recommend him!

Mark is a great teacher, if you have to take Bio 2 or Bio 4 take it with him.

Mark is an amazing prof who has so much passion for Bio. His tests are NOT easy, but I got A's on all of them because i worked my ass off during the winter session. I was able to fall in love with biology because of him. Don't take this class if you don't care at all. Work hard, and you'll get the results you deserve.

Mark is an amazing instructor, his class is tough not because of him but just the amount of material that you have to know for the class. He will help you and listen to your problems and try to find ways to help you through the class. Always study! The practicals and test sneak up on you before you know it.

If you're looking for a teacher that bring jokes and makes class funny, then Mark is your guy. He is by far one of the best teachers I've taken. But don't take him if you can't take a joke or can't handle sarcasm, since he likes both. Great teacher, very detailed.

This class was the hardest class I've ever taken but mark is an amazzzing professor and person overall. His class is very difficult but he is always there for you when you need it! He is a super funny guy but will definitely put you to work. Be ready to study the entire semester like no joke. He makes the content really interesting too! TAKE HIM

Cooper gives you everything you need to succeed, he'll link you to all his lecture slides, lab cards, vids of his previous dissections, study guides, he offers one extra credit assignment that you can choose off of a list. He's very engaging, funny, helpful and prepares you for university level of classes. Attend coaching sessions and office hours.

This is the best professor, academically and socially, I have ever taken at Mt. Sac. He truly cares for his students but has no time for slackers although he will try his best to help. This class is extremely difficult and will require large amounts of your personal life. Do not take this precaution for granted because this class determines doctors

One of the best professor's I've had. I'm actually hoping to take another one of his courses! He definitely knows his stuff and makes lectures funny/engaging. Prepare to devote considerable study time for this class. He has high standards for grades so go to office hours/talk to him during lab and he'll gladly explain concepts/give study advice.

Really and amazing professor. He makes class as interesting as possible. The class is really hard and you need to study as much as possible cause he really makes you work for your grade. He loves when students ask questions and is always available outside of class and responds to emails quickly. Definitely take him if you have the chance. #2easy

I've taken Mark before and was glad I got to take another course with him. He's a great prof and has a lot of knowledge. His office hours are very helpful because he'll answer all the questions you have. His tests are very tricky and really get you thinking. He does let you try and "argue" for points on them after they are graded. #2easy

He is super responsive and helpful. His quizzes are usually pretty easy, but if you screw up or get confused, talk to him he's very understanding and will help. his finals are good too, invest in his study guide. do extra credit it all adds up, and its a pretty easy class. hes super chill and kind. super funny too lol, love that guy

He makes Biology now one my favorite subject and is my FAVORITE professor. His enthusiasm and knowledge in Biology makes the class super entertaining and motivates you to care about the subject. He makes constant jokes and is really caring about his students. Quizzes and Exams are super fair and based on ppt. Labs are super easy and clear. 10/10!!!

Bio 2 is not an easy class, that said Cooper made lecture one of the most fun classes I've ever taken. You wouldn't expect to be talking about Plant biological functions and cracking up every five minutes but that is usually how it goes. Bio 2 is tough and studying for this class will take priority, but Cooper really cares and is always helpful.

Mark is THE best professor I've had. He cares so much for his students. He makes lectures so interesting and tells the funniest stories. He is very approachable and relaxed. He teaches this way as well, but DO NOT take that as an "easy A." His exams can be tricky and difficult. Ask questions, come to class/lab and be prepared to work for that A!

One word. Funny. He's really fun to take, but talks really fast during lectures so get ready to write fast. He's the kind of professor who is always available to help you and gets close to his students. He makes his exam questions very hard and tricky. Make sure you know the material to the bone before you take his exams.

This inst an easy class but Mark gives you the information in a simple way and has everything printed out for you in lab all you have to do is take notes/ fill in the packet. If you need help you can always ask. He also gives options for extra credit or other ways to improve your grade. Take advantage of the coaches at the stem center

Overall a good professor, his quizzes can be tricky but if your smart, which your not, but if your smart, you'll read over them carefully. His best aspect his that he is very inviting outside of class, seeing him in his office can really help boost your confidence and help you see the big picture. He's also very funny and witty

Even though this was a night class and I would rather be doing other things, I always looked forward to his humans and environment class. He's really funny and lectures are never boring. A lot of reading and material, but literally he GIVES you what you need to pass. All you need is dedication and maybe a good memory.

Excellent lectures with anecdotal stories sprinkled in to make the subject interesting. If you're not a bio major, this class is a huge time-waster, but it's necessary for most STEM majors. Regardless, you'll learn a lot about how to study and be engaged during class. Labs are a waste of time. Just take pictures, ask questions, and get out.

Bio 2 is not an easy class, but Mark makes it a bit better. Hes knowledgeable about the material and offers lots of help. No book no problem the notes are printed out for you just fill in the blanks! Tests are hard but you know exactly what will be on them. Take advantage of the STEM coaches they are life savors for the harder subjects.

Mark is a great professor. We watched a lot of movies, but they all help with understanding the learning material. He really cares about your grade and will do what he can to get you where you want to be, but don't take this for granted. You really have to study for the tests and quizzes, if you do this, you should do fine in the class. 10/10

Ok first off, Bio 2 is the hardest class here at mt sac. The amount of memorization and knowledge you have to know is insane. Don't expect to have any free time. Mark is an amazing professor and really cares about creating a fair class environment. He's lectures are a lot of fun and the subject is pretty interesting.

Mark is really funny and is passionate about biology. He is there to help where he can but 99% of the work is on you. There is no free time with this class and its all memorization. He color codes everything for the practicums, imo lectures are more difficult but he is pretty much straightforward with what he wants. Gives pity points too!

Life-changing class. One of hardest classes at Mt Sac. Felt like 8 units not 4. There are 4 lecture exams & cumulative final. 5 lab practicums. Extra credit. Everything counts. I learned how to study from this class. Survival of the fittest half the class dropped by the end of semester. Mark is awesome, but your final grade is all on you.

Bio2 is the one of the hardest classes at Mt. Sac, but Mark makes it bearable! Mark gives many opportunities for students to pass his class but its seriously up to you to put in the effort. Mark gives great lectures, extra credit, quizzes, and there are 2 mandatory field trips. He is my favorite professor BY FAR. TOO EASY!!! (see u in winter dude)

One of the best professors I have ever taken in my life, but get ready to study your butt off and A LOT of memorization, start studying ahead of time. Hilarious and well respected, but if you don't study you just won't pass, however he makes the material really interesting and easy to follow plus really helpful study guides and guidelines.

I had him for bio4 in winter 2020, bio 2 spring 2020, with COVID. HANDS DOWN best professor you can ever take, extremely caring and genuine with the way he teaches. PLEASE SHOW UP TO CLASS. He doesn't *take* attendance but he knows who's there and who isn't. Have issues? talk to him, he's really chill and is about taking care of mental health :)

BIO2EASY. I still seize every time I hear hyphae or pass the lab room but Mark is the best professor at sac. This class IS NOT EASY. Everyone in the department knows that. He knows that. He does the best job making it tolerable. Lecture is easy, lab will hurt you. Stay afloat. You may not get an A but you will leave the class loving him.

His tests are a little hard but the study guides have all the questions and if you go to office hours you'll for sure pass. Mark is a super nice professor, and will be understanding if you communicate your needs well. He makes BIO6 really fun and interesting, while talking about how everything is relevant. Beware of heavy tests but if you pay attention during the lectures and PowerPoint, you are good. We are all going to die.

If you take bio take it with this Professor! He never failed to make sure his students were doing good. His class was never difficult, and he was always clear. I hardly received hw because he wanted us to study curriculum. The study guides were exactly like the quizzes & he offered extra credit. Very nice and caring. He was a great Professor.

Professor Cooper is really nice and caring but the course work is soooo much. Our lecture and lab packets would be 15+ pages. He is also very sarcastic and even puts trick questions on our exams & quizzes, so be ready for that. Hes a good professor but you have to be committed to studying everyday for hours if you wanna pass.

I loved Professor Cooper! This class was very hard ( a lot of information) and you need to be prepared to spend a lot of time studying, but as long as you talk to him he will help you in any way he can. Best professor I have taken in awhile. He makes every lecture fun to listen to. Will help practice for Exam and will give you clues. There was no pop quizzes and he was very fair on when you fought for one of your answers. Also he does give pity points and chances for extra credit.

I struggled a lot in this class. This class was the hardest class I have taken at Mt. Sac. We had about 10 quizzes, 5 practicums, 4 lecture exams + 1 final. 2 field-trips. Make sure not to procrastinate and study as much as you can because there is a lot of memorization in this class.

The class isn't technically hard, but there is a lot of work. It's a good class, but don't take it if you lack discipline, you won't do well. It's a class meant for people willing to put in the effort to learn. It's also a good class to take if you're young and don't know what to major in. Not crazy about his tests though.

fun class, and a funny professor. if you can take an hour a day to study the material you WILL pass. heavy on the material so don't slack or you'll fall off quickly. office hours help emphasize what you should focus on for the tests. make sure to look at the Unique parts of the material, it'll always be part of the tests.

Coolest old man around. He makes class enjoyable and fun; there is hardly a dull moment. You will however, have to put in the time for this class as it is heavy on material. Overall, Carrizo trip made me cry 10/10

Professor Cooper was awesome! I took him for Zoology 3. His lectures were interesting and easy format. Everything from the lectures is on the lecture exams. Labs are really fun. You have to study lots of material for the Practicums. The best part of the class are the field trips. Overall, you have to put a lot of time into studying. Great class!

Bio 2 is the hardest class I've ever taken but I can't imagine a better teacher for it. No homework, 10 exams, a ton of information every week to learn. Spent at least 10 hours every 2 weeks studying for the class. Mark is the most amazing lecturer I've ever had. He always had stories and was absolutely hilarious, I really will miss his lectures.

Took the lab version of the humans and environment class and didn't regret it at all. The first day may seem as monotonous as being forced to show up sick to work but it gets exceptionally better. Mark is one of the most down to earth and knowledgeable teachers I've had and I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun. Just be sure to make friends in class!

He is one of the hardest professors at MtSAC to teach Bio 2. If it's your first time taking Bio 2 do not take him, but this class will be hard regardless of the professor. There is a lot of material to cover, study a lot! His lecture exams are harder than labs, so pay attention to what he says in lecture.

Incredible professor for probably one of the most difficult classes in Mt. SAC. Due to the nature of the class, a lot of self studying is mandatory to pass the class. He provides a lot of different studying strategies and tries to make the material interesting and memorable. He also drops a lot of hints on what questions will be on the exam.

Mark is one of the best professors you will ever have, I have not been able to find another who goes to the lengths he does for his students. His teaching style constantly keeps you engaged with the topics and he knows how to explain difficult concepts in a special way. Take him for any class you can and hold your other professors to his standard.

Every Class is a fieldtrip for lab. Lots of writing and note taking. Does the teaching on the fly which can be jarring for some. Down to earth and approachable. Would recommend Class can be life changing if you're willing to listen!

Bio 2 is a somewhat difficult class no matter which way you put it, but Professor Cooper is hands down one of the best instructors to teach this course. His passion over this course is definitely reflected in his extensive knowledge of Plant and Animal bio and willingness to help his students excel. Labs and lectures are actually engaging.

Mark Cooper is a legend. If you have the opportunity to take him for Bio 2 you definitely should. His love for biology is infectious and his knowledge seems endless. Mark is such a good professor, he was so nice and you could truly feel that he really loves his job and students. The only issue for me was the workload. It was too much. So many things to memorize and in such little time. You have 6 practicals 6 lecture exams and about 10 quizes, no homework. Also gives a couple EC options throughout the semester
