I have never been a good math student. He made me feel like I really understood for once. Readily available for assistance, and always answers questions. Also gave out extra credit opportunities to those who worked hard (usually on days when only 4 or 5 people showed up for class). Great teacher

I HAD 3 WEEKS LEFT AND DICKS TOLD ME TO STUDY MORE, STAY AFTER FOR REVEIWS B/C I NEEDED AT LEAST 70% ON THE LAST 3 TEST TO MAKE A C IN THE CLASS WHICH WOULD ALLOW ME TO TAKE THE EXIT TEST. I PASSED WITH A C+, BETTER THAN A F!

I'm good at everything but Algebra. I needed this course to move through the Algebra sequence. I took it in Fall 1993 and had this huge lecture, hated it. Retook it in 1995 and Prof Dicks made it easy by merely EXPLAINING and HELPING his students. It's a basic math course, a good refresher for those of us out of school for years. He was awesome!

This is quite possibly the best teacher I've had. He is very helpful, and understanding. If you are out sick, he gives you opportunities to make your grade back up, and will help you with any problems you may have. His door is always open to his students, past or present. This guy is AWESOME. He'll explain anything you need him to. His tests are not really easy but he prepares you for them in advance. He had a daily quiz in my class but he does that when a lot of people don't show up or come in late, either way if you attend like you should your grade should be nothing below a B.

Phenomenal instructor! I'm a retired Navy instructor, and can tell you this guy is Top Notch. All other math teachers at Santa Fe should be required to sit-in one of his classes periodically for proficiency. I can't recommend this exceptional mathematician enough. Just make sure to sign-up for his class early, as they fill to capacity quickly.

Very Helpful even if your not in his class he will make you understand your work no matter what math you are in.

Just show up to class and do your work and he will be fine with you. He jokes around sometimes. Good for people that have a really hard time with math, he makes it super easy. Always willing to help. In the math lab he is always helpful and you can see him during office hours. Everyone in the class seems to really enjoy him, no complaints.

Absolutely wonderful professor! I had to retake the MAT0024 course because I couldn't understand the last professor. Mr. Dicks is exceptionally wonderful and extremely helpful to his students. I have yet to have any complaints at all. HIGHLY recommend him for anyone needing to understand math better. PERFECT!!!

He began a learning community program to help people thru math, and it is absolutely wonderful. He teaches the College Success class, but during it he goes over Math from your current class so that you stay on point in your math class. He is also very easy to understand and does a great job of helping you understand math. Very recommended!!!

If you're horrible at math like I am I highly suggest his class. He is super helpful and nice. I Never like math since I was younger this teacher took every angry I had for math and absolutely wiped it away I highly recommend him as a teacher. After having a miserable teacher the previous semester who I had to drop, this guy stepped up and was an awesome teacher. All the things that the previous teacher butchered, he explained and made sure you actually understood what he was talking about. You can also come to his office during office hours, and he has you do problems with him.

Drops lowest grades at the end of the semester, helped me pass my final! I took a mini term, it was 2 months (less than 16 classes) , very fast paced but there to help for sure

Mark is a great mentor; moreover, Mark is a great teacher and he is a good man. Mark has a distinct way of preparing you for the next installment of college level algebra. Don't let the name fool you: he's a teddy bear. Easy A as long as you participate and pay attention. Can't skip class more than 3 times or you automatically fail. Homework almost every day, but it's super easy. Total of 4 tests, no quizzes, and all of the HW is online. He really cares about his students and it's his goal to make sure you pass.

I recommend taking this class in a full semester. I took this class in Fall B where we only had a couple of classes together, so he packed in a lot of work. He is very easy and wants everyone to pass. He is willing to help if you need it. He lets you retake quizzes and tests at the end of the semester.

He isnt afraid to tell you that you need to improve but he is very kind and respectful about it. He is also pretty funny!

Ive always been terrible at math, it was my worst and least favorite subject. Professor D. changed that. I took him Summer A via hybrid class. He was very thorough in his lectures, and participation and questions were welcomed. Homework was a bit heavy, but the practice made a difference. He offers partial credit on incorrect answers.

I have always struggled with math until i took this class. He really is the best Professor ever and really cares about his students passing. He met with me so many times whenever i needed to help. He doesnt give a lot of work but enough to understand the topic.

If given the chance, I would take this professor again 100%. It was an online hybrid class which made it easier for sessions to be recorded in case you were to miss something important. I actually enjoyed attending his lectures, it was the only class I looked forward to. I am no good with math but his lectures definitely gave me the understanding I needed!

He was very funny and explained the problems in detail so no one would be confused. He always recorded his lessons in case you missed class and would stay behind after class if you had any questions.

If you do poorly in math and have an opportunity to take his class, take it. He helped me grow from a D student to an A+ in one condensed semester. Professor D works quickly but he wants you to ask questions and makes sure you have every resource to reach him and get help if you need it. He is THE BEST. Just do your part and show up.

Despite taking his course online, he remains available to help all students. Work load isn't too heavy, but is lecture dense. Majority of class is videos explaining subjects on a white board. He explains concepts well and breaks up instructions into easy chunks. I highly suggest anyone who isn't strong in math take classes with this professor.

Professor Dicks responds to emails fairly quick, and wants you to pass. He posts lectures that goes over the work and it is similar to the tests. If you do not study, you will not pass. Every grade counts.

Took the online class for MGF1100. Super super easy prof! Laid back, gives important announcements, offers in person meetings/zoom if you need extra help or have questions before quizzes. Really sweet and caring guy, wants the best for his students. 10/10 will take again! No complaints!!

Wow, if Prof. Dicks taught every math class, I'm sure I could get a degree in it. It is rare to find a math teacher that breaks things down enough and operates at such a pace that anyone can understand the material. I was terrified starting my first math class in 10 years and ended up loving it. Feeling prepared & confident. Take his class!

Professor Dicks is a great math instructor. He makes math easy to learn. If you do not understand a topic he will work with you until you feel confident about it. Professor Dicks is easy to contact during office hours and he allows students to make appointments outside of office hours.

Good professor and is available to help. Tests make up the majority of your grade, but doing the homework on time is helpful in the end. 2 unit tests, one final and midterm. Two opportunities for extra credit, please do it. I still struggle with math, but he was a great teacher.

I want you to know that Professor Dicks, is a fantastic teacher, he is always accessible, he is patient, and calm, he explains things over and over again if that is what you need. I have a hard time with math, and as long as you do the work and study, you will get good grades. I wished he was with me throughout all my math classes.

I am not the best at math but Professor Dicks teaching methods helped me understand different concepts. I had to retake the course so I made sure Professor Dicks was the instructor. He is very caring and he wants to make sure you understand what is being taught. The world needs more professors who care about their students.

Amazing professor!! I failed this class previously and was allowed to retake it with professor Dicks. He helped me understand the concepts fully and met with me and a few other students after class many times on zoom. I truly feel ready for the next math now because of his help!!

Professor Dicks was awesome. I took his MGF1100 class online. His videos were very clear and helpful with lots of examples and good opportunities for extra credit. The class uses Pearson MyLab Math for all homework, quiz and test assignments (3 plus final). My only gripe with the class is no option for Honorlock, all tests must be taken on campus.

This is the first time I have had a math Professor explain things in a way that I could understand. He was fast to respond to any questions, was encouraging and gave extra credit for each test. I actually enjoyed this calls, and I have never said that about a math class in my life! I would definitely take a class by him again.

I took Math readiness. No text books used, rather detailed videos. Videos offered viewing the material more than once. He answered every message I sent him and was caring. I had one phone conversation with him because i work, where he took the time to clarify an answer i was just not getting. I appreciated the time he took with me. GREAT Teacher!

Professor Dicks is the first teacher I've ever had that taught me how to use basic math with positive and negative numbers. His lecture videos can be long, but they provide excellent examples for the assignments and he goes in depth for even the most simple questions. I highly recommend you take his class! He makes math fun and interesting :)

Professor Dicks shows you in your work where you went wrong and how to fix it, communication outside of the classroom is amazing, responds to emails the same day! If you are still having a hard time understanding problems, to answer your questions he sends you video explanations that are easy to follow and understand.

I cannot recommend him enough!!! I am TERRIBLE at math and was failing for majority of the semester. But he constantly worked with me, met with me via zoom and in person and really helped me. He does not want to see a student fail and he will WORK with you as long as you do the work as well!!! Do yourself a favor and take professor Dicks!!

MGF1100 is the first college class I've taken since graduating high school. Im now 26 and was very nervous about jumping back in after taking such a long break. Professor Dicks truly made learning process easy and understandable, I really have nothing negative to say. Would definitely take this class again, 10/10.

AMAZING! This is a pass fail class but you will pass for sure. This course is laid so that it is super easy to grasp even for people very new to algebra or math. He's so helpful. Great foundation for future classes. Not a lot of work at all. Everything is online so the "in person classes" are just like study hall so you can ask questions.

I took MAT0057 as a hybrid course. It was a great review and a work at your own pace class. Its either pass or fail and super easy to move fast in the class and finish early. This professor is super flexible and understanding of anything and everything. Would recommend!

He's a nice teacher who doesn't mind curving grades if he sees that you've put in the effort and were close to the correct answer. The classes are conducted online, but the exams are in person. He is always willing to help and often extends due dates. He teaches really well and makes learning math super easy. Overall, I would 100% recommend him.

Mr. Dicks is a fantastic teacher! I am so glad I had him to help me get back into math after not being in school for 15 years. I have never liked math, but he made it to where I was so excited to come to class and explained the problems without getting frustrated or making me feel stupid. he even offered to help me with my other math classes.

Loved him as a professor. The class was pretty easy if you just watched the lectures and studied a bit before tests (which has no limit on the retakes). He gives good feedback and actually helps if you have questions. Made math way less scary and way easier to understand!

This class is great because it's easy to follow and you can work at your own pace. The teacher is really understanding and even lets you retake tests if you don't pass the first time, which takes a lot of pressure off. There are also helpful videos you can watch that explain the material clearly, so it's easier to understand what you're learning.

The class is hybrid online which includes pre-recorded lectures so that you can work at your own pace and live lectures 2 days out the week. Attending the live lectures aren't required, but important to earn attendance points to apply towards your module tests. Very easy to follow and learn. Professor Dicks is respectful, supportive, and polite.
