Best teacher i have ever had. I don't like math, but he made it fun. He showed how stats can be used in everday life. It was an easy class, only if you did what he asked of you.

He is an excellent teacher. His lectures are very interesting and he has a great sense of humor. He does what needs to be done in order to keep you attentive and learning. If you need or want to take Business Stats I, I recommend you take it with Dummeldinger.

he's a really funny guy & will make this math class enjoyable. the tests dont seem hard but they get so confusing u never know what u get right or wrong. there are so many questions with answers that u dont know if they are correct. great teacher but really confusing tests. if u study and if ur lucky u do well :)

Excellent techer. Explains the material in depth and his lecures are not boring. He makes class interesting and has a good personality. If you study for the tests they are pretty easy.

Gives great notes. Those are all you really need to pass the exams. Makes jokes all the time. Has reviews before exams and there are practice exams available. Overall pretty good teacher.

He is a great professor. He will help you on whatever you need, even at 8:00 in the morning. As long as you study and get help you will do fine. He is cute.

He is really funny, which makes statistics a little less boring. All you need is his notes. He's a great teacher. I don't understand anything from the book, but he makes it easy, and he's not bad to look at either.

I have never had a better teacher. Most teachers I do not give my full attention to but he makes the class fun, especially when he tells jokes, which he does a lot, funny guy.

Boring material but this guy somehow makes it extremely enjoyable to go to class. His jokes are hilarious and make the material memorable. If you go to class and take notes, you just need to spend some time reviewing the notes before the tests and you will pass. He is also always available to help with any problems you have.

Very laid back, nice, funny guy who knows about stats and also how to communicate. Would probably be even better if classes weren't so short for this subject (8 wks.)

He was a great teacher and really funny. I actually enjoyed this class. My favorite thing about this class was when we took notes, he wrote on this projector screen at the same time we were writing so everyone was at the same pace. His notes were very clear and understanding. Show up to all the classes you should pass with at least a B easily.

I will say that I loved this class because there was almost no computations involved! Imagine that, STATs without the MATH! Seriously. He was more focused on if you got the concept than the actual calculations. He has a very dry sense of humor, which also helps too. Definitely take him.

Statistics is somewhat abstract, and he's very good at taking statistics and making it concrete, which makes it much easier to understand. He's better than Sincich.

This class is very easy to understand if you attend all the lectures. If you are female (or a gay male), you might have a difficult time concentrating though... Mr. Dummeldinger is so cute!

Incredible teacher! He makes something like stats interesting and easy to understand. His tests are straight forward and from the notes. His project is simple to complete and an easy A. Not to mention he is super cute and it makes a three hour class enjoyable when you have some eye candy.

I had a hard time in stat, so I barely passed with a "C."However going to class was fun just to watch him teach! ; ) ...His lectures were interesting though & he tried to keep the interest of the students by cracking jokes.Come to find out he is my relative through marrige b/c I saw him at a family reunion(haha)...after he gave me the C! He Rocks! I had to retate this class and got a D with another prof I got a B in his. His lectures where very helpfull and made the book make a bit more sense. The problems he suggested in the book where very close to what was on the exams. He has the Solution manual on reserve at the library. Also he made himself very avaible for student questions.

His lectures are fun to go to and they make a lot of sense. He doesn't care what lecture you go to if he has multiple ones, so if you really want a noon class but its full just sign up for another one and go at noon, as long as you go to the right section on exam day he doesn't mind.

I got a B in the class but i put forth the effort!

I looooved Dummeldinger. He's great, very funny. I almost always went to class simply because I enjoyed it. Exams are entirely based on notes. I didn't buy a book. I think I got an A... not quite sure yet. Take him. Stat sucks, but he rocks.

Funny and entertaining. He gives partial credit for "wrong" answers on tests. You only use the book for homework (which is optional). I got 86, 74 and 87 on tests but because I got A for the final (which is ****ulative) he rounded it to an A. If you show interest and go over his notes, you'll be fine. His lectures last until the last minute though..

I loved his class bc of him! this is a great teacher to have for a hard subject. He is very down to erath and no question is stupid to him. He jokes around in class and does a great job preparing students for his tests. I would love to have him again as a teacher!

Probably one of the best teachers I've had. Statistics isn't one of the easiest subjects to learn, but Dummeldinger's belief of "no math" mixed with his sense of humor makes the class very easy. He's very helpful out of class, and even gives practice exams that are basically exact copies of the actual exam with different numbers. Recommended++

I dropped this class first time around because I didn't go to class the first semester or take notes. Second time around though I made sure to TAKE NOTES and go to EVERYCLASS.Memorize the practice exams, and make sure you understand the concept for yourself instead of knowing how he explained it. You think you know it when he says it!I got an A

DO NOT BUY THE BOOK!.. Great guy, but there is a TON of note taking and you must be exact when you answer questions on the exams which are all short answer. I received a B on the 3 exams and failed the final because it was multiple choice and a totally new format; ending up with a C in the course.

Dummeldinger is the man. He always has an entertaining class, and it is stats. He takes extremely difficult concepts and boils them down to digestible ideas. I never did any homework, just practice exams, and still got a B. Take him, you wont find a better stats teacher.

Great professor, fun entertaining, and I felt like I actually retained something from the class. Really good professor. Material however is very difficult and can become overwhelming if you don't keep up with it. Still with that said hard class but with a strict, but fair teacher.

Great Professor. Practice tests are just like the real test. Study hard and use his Eluminate live sessions and you will do fine. Stats is not an easy class, but he makes it understandable. Highly reccommend! Im taking him again this summer

Dummeldinger is a great teacher. He truly cares about his job and does what he can to make sure his students understand the subject. The practice tests are extremely helpful and his "Elluminate" sessions really helped me understand the material. His sense of humor is very refreshing and I am glad I took Stat I with him.

He's really a GREAT Math Professor. He explained the lessons well, & was funny while doing so. The math was a little tough but he helped ALOT. He gives curves at the end of the semester. He doesnt give you a minus grade unless it helps you, Instead of a C+, he would give you a B-. GREAT professor ADD ADD ADD!!

Took him for Stat I and II. Stat I was not difficult, Stat II was a diff. story. Took it during the Summer. He focuses on 2 projects, 1 exam, 1 final (175) pts. (400 total) Very difficult, he curved our class (250 students combined) due to too low of scores. Awesome prof though. Really enjoyed his lectures - Elluminate videos are a god send.

I took Mark for Stat 1 and 2. Stat 2 was considerably more difficult and it was like learning another language. The class consists of 2 tests and 2 take-home projects, so if you do poorly on one it is hard to catch back up. I took good notes, had a good partner, and studied examples (No HW though) and got a B, which I was happy with.

awesome teacher. you can get by without the book but probably only if you are math brained. i didnt work very hard, but went to almost all classes, and got an a. he is very clear and puts up elluminate presentations to figure out projects. i think he is an excellent prof.

Prob the best teacher ive encountered. I feel that I can teach the class after ive listened to the lectures and I havent even opened the book. Test questions are sometimes a little crappy, but overall id take Dummeldinger again no problem

Mark is an extremely experienced professor. He's been teaching since he got out of college and does it extremely well. Material is easy to understand, just show up to lectures. Project is easy and also worth much of the grade. He's hilarious and very enthusiastic. Made stats very interesting. I very much wish he taught stats 2!

My only complaint is that he is not teaching Stats 2. Fantastic professor, very enthusiastic AND funny, knows the material very well. Exams/project is fair, he doesn't try to trick you. Go to the lectures, because they are definitely worthwhile. Final was not cumulative. Not an easy A, but he makes it as easy as possible. Definitely recommend!

He is one of the most straight forward professors I have encountered. He tells you exactly what he expects from you. If you attend the lecture and take the practice exams you should be fine. I barely used the book. He is very willing to assist you and does a great job in explaining the material.

Amazing teacher!!! Tells storys that help explain the material & also helps keep your attention in class, assigns homework, but homework is not mandatory, two group projects that are super easy, multiple choice exams. Again he is the one of the best teachers I've ever had!!! Highly recommend this teacher =]

Took for both Business Stats I and II. Pulled a B in I and an A in II, after failing out of General Stats a year before. Take him, he is by far the best stats teacher on campus and actually explains things in understandable and relateable ways.

Great instructor- by far the best I've ever had. I took the on line class and his video lectures are really good. His tests are brutal so don't think you'll breeze through them but he does curve the grades at the end so I still pulled out an A. I highly recommend this professor especially if you really want to learn statistics.

I guess I should say something clever...but I'm not as funny as he is. Actually made stats 2 fun and interesting. This was the first class in 3 years that I showed up to every last lecture. Take notes and knock the projects out as he goes over the concepts in class. Avoid the "squeaky desk" in rm 1048....you will get called out!

Excellent class, excellent instructor. Never once opened my book during this class or Stats 1 with Dummeldinger. His lectures are clear and entertaining, and his practice exams give you a good idea of what you need to do for the exam. Do not take anyone but Mark for any Stats class!

I had Mark back in '01 for Stat 1 before this site probably existed. Math is my worst subject, but the entertaining way he conducts his lectures had our entire class captivated. He's one of the best Stat professors in all of USF (besides Dr. Sincich). If you can take Stat 1 with Mark, do it!

This guy is the best teacher at USF by far. He is funny and entertaining and teaches you exactly what you need to learn to get an A. If you need Stats I for any reason take it and make sure you get Dummeldinger. HEHE funny name too, and he admits it.

Excellent professor, possibly the best I've had so far at USF. He does a superb job at stimulating interest in the subject and is a fair grader. While a textbook is "required", his exams are based on the class notes which are far more helpful than the book anyway.

Very good professor. He is very funny and makes class enjoyable. The only grades are a few group projects and a few tests, so make sure you go to every class and study. Also, try to make sure that all parts of the group project are correct as your grade is shared with your group. Other than that though, great Stats teacher, and I highly recommend.

He is one of the best teachers I have had. Although I didn't do too well in the class and was totally lost near the end I recommend him. He keeps this boring subject interesting. Follow project instructions exactly, we lost points on something silly. I didn't spend much outside time on the class and passed.

I love me some Dummeldinger!! He's an amazing teacher, and hilarious. His tests questions are straight forward, however the multiple choice answers get tricky. He even warns you that he'll try to trick you. Just study and you'll do fine, definitely take him for stats 1 and 2 !!!

He is a caring professor and wants to work with you to help. I had to drop the class as math has never been my strong point, but of all the math teachers, he makes stats very clear.

easy stat, proff makes the subject very interesting also theres nearly NO MATH in this class only concepts. the proff really is good and knows how to explain every aspect of what he teaches in a way that is understandable to everyone. practice exams are just like that exam he gives.

I loved this class, Mark enjoys teaching this subject and he really does a great job explaining the different topics. I never used the book though, so I hope to get some use out of it in stat II. Just 3 exams and 3 group projects. His video lectures and exam videos are extremely helpful.

He is clear in what you need to know and he makes his lectures very interesting. When it's time for an exam he is willing to answer your questions. I got a B in the class with little to no studying.

The class is kind of hard if you're not a fan of math. However, he is a very funny professor and makes every effort to ensure you do ok. He treats you like an adult and gives you the opportunity to create your own fate. Help is there if you want it, but most of the learning will be on your own. He is a great teacher!

Incredibly funny and somewhat interesting class! Mostly went for his jokes and the notes he let's us copy every class. Basically dont even have to look at the book. 3 projects and 3 exams. He handwrites his notes everyday on a projector, so if you want the material you have to go to class. All exams are scantron, so it is all or nothing when it comes to partial credit. Overall, go to class, take notes, study the practice exams and you will be fine.

Amazing Prof. Dummeldinger makes STATS interesting. This course has some challenging material, however of you put in effort there is no excuse not to pass. His teaching style is great, exams are reasonable, and the final will help tremendously if you study! Projects are relatively easy and his grading is more than just. Overall, TAKE HIM! He's Hot

He's a really nice guy and makes lectures go by fast with his great sense of humor. He makes a normally boring class interesting by doing so. His tests can trip you up since he always puts "good" wrong answers, but if you know your stuff you'll be ok. The tests are only out of 20 questions too, which makes each question really important as well.

One of the best professors I've ever had, that is until I started watching Game of Thrones and realized he looked just like Peter Baelish (Aka Little Finger), whom I hate. Now I have really mixed emotions.

He is a great teacher. Statistics was very challenging fr me (im terrible at math) but he made it easier to understand. 3 tests and 3 group assingments. Go to thst stat lab and they help you a lot and get you 100's on the projects. 1st test is easy. Last 2 can be challenging. Best prof i've had at USF.

Very funny guy, always had the class in a uproar. Easy as long as you go to class and pay attention. You will only need the book if you intend on doing the homework. I took him over summer and was only graded on 2 projects and 2 exams. All tests were multiple choice, but BE WARNED he writes very tricky wrong answers, he will tell you that though.

Wow this teacher is the best math teacher I have ever had. He writes his test to exactly how he teaches the material. In some classes the only way to understand is by reading the book. In this class understand the teacher, do some practice homework and practice exams and the grade you want is absolutely obtainable.

Go to class he gives great notes and makes lectures fun. He is always there to help as are the TA's. Three exams and three group projects. Just do the homework and you will probably get the concepts. Exams are fair.

This professor is awesome. I would recommend not doing the homework, it's pretty useless. I got an A in the class by just studying mainly my notes and looking over the practice exams. The first exam is pretty easy, but the second and final can be tough if you do not study a lot. The projects are easy, but go to the TAs to have them check it.

Easily one of the best professors that I have had before. Lectures are funny, engaging and you actually learn something new, that being said, the content isnt easy but he gives you plenty of good resources to learn the material. 1010 will definitely take another one of his classes.

By far one of the BEST math teachers at all of USF!! He is hilarious and does his best to make sure that students understand every topic. He is always willing to help! He also allows you to go to any section you want except for exams. The only con is that the grading only consists of tests and projects, which leaves little room for messing up.

This is a hard class. Attendance isn't mandatory, but go if you know what's best for you. Professor is willing to help and replies to emails fast, plus provides resources to help with studying. You definitely have to work for your grade as the only grades are three exams and the final.

Dummeldinger isn't the typical math teacher. He understands that most students don't enjoy long computations, so he doesn't make us do them unless necessary. Very dry sense of humor, entertaining. Three tests, three projects, that's it.

Do well on the projects. You have 3 of them and 3 exams and no other grades. Dummeldinger understands that college students don't love math and he pokes fun at it. Show up to class and take notes, it will help you tremendously. His lectures are very do-able because he himself is entertaining. Very down to earth guy, easy to understand.

I abhor math, and by the end of his course I seriously considered going into statistics. He made every class fun and enjoyable and I learned a lot. Easily the best Professor I have ever taken. I took summer school I didn't even need just so I could take Stat 2 with him instead of in the fall with someone else! 10/10 would take again.

Great prof. and makes Stats easy. Be aware that there are only 6 grades for the semester- 3 exams, 3 projects. He literally gives you the answers to the projects in class, so if you don't go, or make your partner pick up your slack and they bomb it, you can only blame yourself. The TAs will also check it for you if you visit before the due date.

He's funny, really likes statistics, and overall a good professor. Get ready for lots of random off-topic stories about the 80s. The class itself isn't that hard, but you should definitely learn the basics of the subject in the first few weeks so you aren't behind. Easily the best teacher I've had at USF. Had class every Monday 6:30-9:15, but everything class he mad interesting and made everyone laugh a few times. Stats could be boring especially for 3 hours at a time, but Dummeldinger really makes the class fly by. Hilarious stories and examples as well.

SUPER EASY CLASS! I only went to three classes total, only the test days, and I got an A. The tests are exactly like the practice tests but just different number. Super easy just study those and you will pass with flying colors! Also go to the STATS lab for the projects and they will basically do it for you.

Dummeldinger ROCKS. (Disclaimer: stats is my favorite math.) Took him for Stat 1 and then Stat 2 over the summer. Pros: Hilarious, very clear, responds well to questions, doesn't require homework. Cons: Gives you more information on a concept than necessary, Bad TAs in the spring, sometimes requires partners on projects (esp. in stat 1)

Professor Dummeldinger is truly a great teacher. He jokes a lot, very sarcastic, but also very kind and respectful. He doesn't give hw, but be ready to do some projects, which are easy if you pay attention during lectures. The exams are tricky though.

He is hilarious. The class is interesting but I particularly think it was hard (if you miss class it's really hard to understand it later). He gives practice exams and makes videos solving it, and they are very similar to the test.

Dummeldinger is the Robert Downey Jr. of the teaching world. He is super friendly, care free, and loves his job. He also happens to know what he is doing. I'd say his lectures are mandatory due to their helpfulness but he doesn't care about attendance. There are only a few assignments though, so you really have to pay attention and take your time.

You need to make sure you review the materials. Final is non-cumulative, but concepts build on each other throughout the semester. Funny guy who explains concepts clearly. Make sure you take notes or ask to take pictures of them after class.

Really great professor, very clear when it comes to what he expects. The tests are not particularly hard if you take the practice tests before taking the actual exams. The group projects are fairly easy and reinforce what you learn in class. I also recommend to go to every class and to take notes because his lectures are very helpful.

Hardest part is there's only 6 grades and tests are short & MC-only. Went over each test 3 times to make sure I didn't make any careless mistakes. A few questions wrong and you're already staring at C territory. Do practice problems from txtbk and class notes to prepare. Also do not pay the $100 for the book, found mine online for $30.

Easy class. Honestly just pay attention and ask questions and you will be fine. Material is not hard but make sure you understand it. Do the practice homeworks and study! If you do this you will do good. He's a really cool professor and it will be a good class if you pay attention, do good on projects, and the exams.

Took him for 1 in the spring, then did 2 online in the summer. Tbh I was a little nervous ab doing 2 online, but it was way easier than 1 was in-person. Imo this is the way to do it: take 2 as soon as you finish 1, the last topic in 1 is the foundation of 2. Mark is also hilarious and his lectures are great, wish I could have more classes w/ him.

One of the best teachers! I had him for summer A so it was fast paced & lecture was around 2 hrs 30 mins, he is hilarious and I never got bored. I mostly relied on his online videos & in class lectures. You are able to find how to solve everything in the chapter study guides(fill in ques). Test was mult. choice. Our TA was very helpful too.

He was one of my favorite professors I have ever had. He is super caring and his lectures are funny and interesting. The only downside is your graded on three projects and three test that's it so if you fail something you're kind of stuck. Suggest studying and paying attention.

I was repeating this course after failing with another professor. Mark was caring and respectful, the course was presented in a very organized manner and everything was concisely communicated. I went form failing with and F to getting an A-, that says a lot about how great he is. It is lecture heavy, but you will definitely understand everything.

Professor Dummeldinger is the best professor I have ever had. So understanding and genuinely willing to see his students learn and succeed (esp during COVID). I had him for QMB 2100 in the spring then QMB 3200 in the summer. Extremely helpful and broke down the material very well. I am genuinely sad that I will no longer have him as a professor.

Great professor

Before QMB3253 I had never taken any stats class not even in high school, and I'm extremely bad at math. Advanced stats is hard but Dummeldinger is very fair and logical, if you watch the lectures and do the homework, he writes everything out step by step in the lectures and it is exactly how to format the answers for the homeworks and tests.

Super nice professor, very thorough in his notes/lectures. Proctorio isn't on the exams so your "privacy isn't at risk". Only issue is his projects are kind of annoying. They are difficult and no matter how correct your answers are, the TAs will take off points for dumb stuff. Mr. D himself is great, wish he taught stats 2! :,(

Ive taken this professor for two different semesters online and both times he has made the TAs accessible and even will go over specifics in class if you ask. Responds extremely quickly to emails, if he doesnt it is unusual or because his classes spam him. Overall an amazing teacher

Professor Mark is by far the best professor I had. Finished my QMB 2100 with an A and took QMB 3200 with him as well (also finished with an A). He is really fun. He is super organized with the way he teaches. You cannot not understand his lectures! He is just the best professor. Whenever you have the chance, take your classes with him!!

I took him for Stats 1 and 2. He has been amazing both terms and I would highly recommend. All exams were open notes, no proctorial. For stats 2 we had 3 homework assignments, 3 exams, and 7 quizzes. He gives 5 points extra credit if you get above a 70 on the hws and 5 pts for quizzes too. Drops the lowest 2 quiz grades. His lectures give examples.

It's a tough class, but he is potentially the best professor at the university. He is kind, willing to help, and passionate about what he does. He provides videos that will assist you with working with a data set that is the core of each homework assignment throughout the course. You will still have to study and work hard to achieve an A or B.

I took him for both Sat 1 and 2 and he was a great teacher with a fun attitude! I am so happy I had him for a professor over any other and he made the material very easy to understand. Just pay attention to the lectures and attend the stat labs if you need help, and you'll be all set!

Mr. D is one of the best professors at USF! He took over after my assigned prof quit, and I'm so thankful he did. He makes a lot of dad jokes lol but he keeps things engaging and fun. His explanations are really helpful, and the TAs are good at clarifying things. Don't miss the opportunity to take a class with him!

Good professor, no Proctorio, TA's grade the HW/Projects and they are tough grades.

He seems like a nice guy and he definitely knows his stuff. All tests are open note and no proctorio. You have 4 projects which vary in difficulty. The T/As grade them very harshly for no reason. You have 6-8 boring lectures to watch in the span of a few weeks which gets old. Definitely watch and write down everything though. Not good but not bad.

Took it over summer, very practical and funny professor, would take him for another subject, but unfortunately he's into clownfish breeding. This is a tough class though so keep up

As long as you go to the lectures, and take notes on what he says, it's an easy A. He offers a ton of time with office hours where both him and the TA are super helpful. I recommend printing out his notes prior to class. A lot of the notes are redundant but still important, so having them prior saves you so much time. 100% recommend taking him.

I took this class over the summer and he was amazing! He goes into depth about anything and would make sure you would feel confident about the topics presented. Another perk is that he is hilarious! He makes statistics fun even though I struggled at times to understand. I would recommend anyone to take his class.

Mark Dummeldinger is a great professor that truly cares about his students. He has office hours twice a week to answer questions and gives out bonus points although it is rare. He is so funny and always helps when you ask him questions about homework in person but you must do the work to succeed. He goes kinda fast so make sure you write it down

You have enough time to complete all work, and he tells you exactly what to study for so tests are graded heavily but they are not as difficult. His lectures run on but theyre really easy to follow through and understand.

I was amazed by Prof's innovative teaching ability that sets students up for success. Aside from mostly engaging lectures exuding positive energy, he administers competency checks for students to test their understanding. Moreover, a practice exam and explanation video precedes every exam and project that is extremely helpful. Definitely take him!

The work isn't bad. There's 4 mods which have 1-3 question easy quizzes. Each module has a project, you make a data set and complete a worksheet. He posts videos for each project that shows you what to do. Theres only 2 exams, they're open book. He is really helpful and wants you to succeed. I just didn't do well because I didn't put in the work.

It is kinda hard to fail his class when he gives step by step of everything he is expecting. Prof is enthusiastic about what he's teaching and tries to make it simple and funny for you to remember concepts. If you take notes and don't cheat your fine.

Provides detailed lectures and notes to fill out. As long as you understand his lectures and do well on the short quizzes you will do well on the exams. But if you need extra practice he provides practice exams. The projects were a bit challenging because some parts were not clearly defined. Overall manageable class.

Definitely a great professor, has the "work smarter not harder" mentality and teaching style. Very thorough in lectures and each topic builds on top of the previous lesson. Quizzes 18-20 questions.

I did not use the textbook once, so I do not recommend buying it. He is easy to listen to. There are Practice Test Review videos before each test, making it very easy to study. As long as you study and do the practice test a few times, the tests are not bad at all. For the projects I recommend going to the TA office hours, they are very helpful.

Professor Dummeldinger is a great teacher to have QMB 2100. Lectures are great and is very clear and concise on the material he teaches. No HW for this class but weekly quiz's due Sunday nights that are very easy. Communication is great and gives out reminders for assignments and holds online sessions for questions we may have. Highly Recommend!

I am pretty bad at math, however I took statistics my senior year of high school then this class my freshman year, so the information was still pretty fresh in my head. However, if I were a beginner I would probably be a little confused. However, the workload is very light and relatively easy. Professor is also very funny. Would recommend!

Prof Dummeldinger cares about his students and wants you to pass. His two in person exams were pretty hard so I recommend trying your best on the projects and weekly quizzes (also the practice exams help a lot). Honestly, the course was not hard to pass but getting a good grade might be difficult.

I was terrified to take this class because math is not my strong suit, I took the 6 week summer class, and it had been a while since I took Stats I, but Prof. Dummeldinger did a great job at explaining what he wanted from his students. Took Stats 1 and 2 combined, used no formulas, not much hw, everything was easy hw's were explained word for word if asked, tests were the same reworded questions and open note. Did not work more than 30 mins a week outside of class. Did not study, just take notes.
