This professor may not give the clearest lecture that you've had, but he is really into help you whenever you need it. He is a very nice person available outside class if needed.

Hist mastery of psychology is shown in his lectures as he focuses on the main points of psychology focusing on key points of the subject. the lectures and study guides helped prepare for quizes and exams. he was also very approachable.

Really good teacher. I absolutely loved his class. Every minute it was enticing, keeping ur attention at all times. Even when he taught about dry subjects he made it entertaining. Very open minded to grading, love his little system he has. Does stray from some topics but always manages to tie it together somehow. Study guides are definitely helpful, and he does keep in contact with you through blackboard frequently. Really enjoyed the class & his environment, also helps he was great to look at in my opinion. ;)

Would definitely take again. Wish all of the instructors here at IVC would be as caring, helpful, motivating, and inspiring as him. He is incredibly smart and has a lot to offer our campus. It would be a definite plus if we could catch up to his level of teaching. It feelt like he had to "dummify" his lectures for some of the students.

He's very helpful and will answer all questions in fact he encourages more questions. He goes a bit off topic but it does tie in to the subject at hand. He's a great teacher and I recommend to him to everyone especially psychology majors. Although he does run late sometimes.

He will never expect something he didn't ask you for. He's crystal clear with that will be on tests. DO THE H.W.! If something doesn't make sense you can ask him. Mark Duva is an amazing professor, in fact I think he is one of the best professors at Imperial Valley College. He is a caring professor who cares about his students success. Just read the chapters! Duva leaves you to your own devices which is a great way to learn. He wont give you a study guide where the questions match the test because Mark holds his students to a higher standard, he expects his students to read! I took Professor Duva for Psy 202 and let me say that he is very passionate about his subject. I never read the textbook and passed just by going to class every day and taking notes on what he was saying. He is not a tough grader! Most of all is that I ACTUALLY LEARNED A LOT!!!! I took Dr. Duva for psy 202 and other of my psy classes. His lectures are quite interesting and he tries to make ir even more interesting by adding personal experiences and putting the context in today's society. He is very clear of what he expecta from his students. If you go to class everyday, and do the assignments that he gives, you'll pass.

Duva is a great professor, hands down! I've taken him for three psych classes and I've passed all with A and B. If you participate and pass your tests, you'll do well in his class. He grades on a curve which gives you a little bit of space to work with if you don't get a good grade on one of the tests. If you're absent just let him know.

He speaks at a fast pace, which sometimes makes it hard to understand, but if you need further explanation he's always available for his students. One of my favorite psy teachers by far I literally took all but 2 psy classes with him. He cares and wants to help you learn and pass be ready to participate in class because at the end of the semester he will give you extra points sometimes for that! Over all I have nothing but good things to say about this man!

When you ask a question be prepared to ge the answer to all the questions in the chapter. He explains too much, which could be good or bad if you are in a hurry. He cares about his students and will not fail you if you look for help. Gives out homework, DO IT. Test are easy if you take your one peice of paper with ALL your notes on it.

He is a great professor! He talks fast, and sometimes starts talking about things that are out of topic, but I didn't mind, since it made the class more interesting. So far, I have taken him for 2 semesters and have had fun attending his classes. He makes sure to make it as funny and interesting as possible. At first I was pessimistic about this class and turned out to be my favorite. Yes, I did have to read the book and Power points because this material was foreign to me. Professor Duva is a great professor! I took him for PSY 214 & PSY 202 this semester and although it was difficult to understand at times he was accessible after class and he gladly helped out with any homework problems I did not understand! The curve helps a lot as well!

Third time was the charm. For his other classes I had gotten Cs. And I was doing bad in the beginning of this semester so I decided to participate much more and not ditch. Changed my grade completely and understood the material.

I took this class during the summer. Mr. Duva is a funny teacher although he does talk very fast. You will be using your book for homework after each chapter. Do all your homework! Get ready for crack jokes and a lot of entertaining tangents. Hes really funny and entertaining. We worry about his soda addiction though. He talks WAY TOO FAST. Dr. Duva is hilarious and always tries to bring a bit of dark humor into his lectures. He explains the material well although he does speak fast but you get used to it. Im really bad at math thats why I got a passing grade I did and tried my best. Dr. Duva is a good teacher really made the class entertained because of his jokes, youll never be bored in this class, he talks fast but he does a good explaining about the material, he really wants to pass his students with a lot of chances to improve your grade.

Dr. Duva is one of my favorite professors at IVC took him for Psy 214 & 200. For 200 he gives you a few take home assignments and take home quizzes. Overall the class was pretty easy everything comes from the powerpoints.

Easy class

You will never be bored in Duva's classes. He's a part-time comedian as well as a doctor of psychology. He's caring, knowledgeable, entertaining, and always goes above and beyond to be helpful if you are struggling. Be prepared to read the book for this class though. You can't just be lazy, not read, not go to class and expect to pass.

Proffesor Duva has a unique way of teaching. Once you get his style of teaching youll love it. He listens to his students. This a course set up for you too succeed but you have to put in some work. I took this course during Winter 2021 and really enjoyed it. Despite it being a winter online course, Professor Duva made it manageable. The modules were clearly organized which made it easy to review and prepare for tests and quizzes.

Keeps class interesting in the modules and by even offering some fun food-for-thought assignments that really got me thinking while getting to learn the material. Overall an awesome professor to take at both Imperial Valley College and San Diego State University. Really wants to help the student is open to offer extra help to make sure you pass.

Professor Mark Duva is very approachable. He encourages his students to ask questions regarding his assignments, videos, or any concerns you might have. His assignments are clear and fairly easy to complete if you read the chapter and take notes. I like how he adds additional videos to complement the chapter we are reading.

Dr. Duva is not a hard professor, I have taken him for a couple classes and passed as long as I did my assgnmnts, hmwrk and quizzes, you do have to complete all modules as far as reading power points, watching the few videos, because his quizzes are based off the material, I do feel the late penalties are a bit excessive though.

Dr . Duva one is the only professor in online era that was actually a good professor in my opinion. All my other professors were not very memorable. Professor Duva makes his online courses very interactive, which makes the leaning the online material much more interesting and easier to learn. Highly recommend his courses.

Took diva for winter (short semester) is a bit heavy with classwork and homework. Duva is an excellent professor explains all exams, homework and all the question you have he will reply you back. In my opinion I would not retake his course in matter of I do not like math.

Gives clear instructions and shows how to do the work. Seemed difficult at the start, but gets easier along the way.

Yes, Professor makes you work hard for it, you need to read the assignments to pass the quizzes, just like any other class. My personal opinion, class was very interesting and the textbook as well. Some of the questions were very similar and confused me throughout the tests. I will look forward to his next class.

Professor Duva is a great professor. Hes such an easy A. Just study your material and youll be good for all the quizzes and youll easily pass with an A.

Not a psych major but took it to increase my chances to get into a Uni. Ive known him only for a short time in winter 2022 online he was great, stats was a bit hard if yr not a math person but its still doable. Thanks for the grade and the videos! Rest in Peace Dr. Duva (MAD)

Overall I enjoyed this class! It was intimidating at first but if you dedicate your time correctly then you'll be able to pass!
