This guy is awesome. He's real funny and keeps it interesting. Tests are hard but if ya study you'll do fine. Take this class...

very interesting, but his tests are impossible. It stinks for the students who are bad test takers. I would probably not suggest him.

he is really funny, great lectures, very interesting, tests are pretty hard but if u pay attention to lectures and just skim the readings u will do fine, grades everything with a curve and that helps all the grades

Tries to keep the class interesting and funny which helps students stay alert. Grades all quizzes and exams with a curve...went from like a 52 to a B-. Very helpful. Definately would recommend him for a psych teacher...he knows what he's talking about

i posted before that this guy was good, i still think so, but i took his final and it was hands down the hardest test i ever took, it was ridiculous, so much harder than his midterm, impossible if u didnt study more than 5 hours

If you read the book and paid attention to the lectures, this class was not difficult. The class was fun and you learned a lot.

Great course. Best instructor that I have experienced so far. Always well prepared and humorous. Not so difficult if you study.

Great guy. If you read the material assigned and pay attention to lectures and take good notes you'll do fine. I learned alot in this class, but I dont recommend it to people who don't want to read ALOT.

Don't take him if you're looking for even close to an easy class. His tests especially are very difficult and there's lots of reading. But if you want to actually learn, then he's a really smart, interesting teacher with a good sense of humor.

Excellent course;learned a ton. Although not easy, a fair and very nice guy. Definitely recommend if you enjoy finally getting your money's worth in a college course.

Outstanding prof -- one of the best. Difficult grader, but very fair. If you want to learn a lot and get your $ worth, he's the guy!

His quizzes are terrible. He tells you what to study but it's never that simple when you have the test in front of you. After all the participation and many readings every class I thought I would get a B but I got a C.If your an A/B student don't take him unless you plan to lower your GPA on purpose

I transfered to a diff. school and have two other Psych courses-BUT IT'S OK...cause the course I took at MSU with Friedman was so thorough that they're like refresher courses! Yeah, he was challenging, but isnt' that what college is about? Anyway, all you have to do is read to get a good grade!

he is VERY thorough. it Is dificult, but he is caring. i missed a class b/c of being sick, and he let me take the test at his own home. Very nice, and expects a lot fo you but well worth it. He knows psychology and can interest you completely. REcommended if you're not a slacker. Good man.

DR. FRIEDMAN is the man he is the funniest teacher/ professor i have ever had. Its not the easiest but def. the best never a dull moment

Dr. Friedman is a great professor! He's very funny and he knows what he's talking about. The only work is reading and a paper at the end of the semester. The class is just a great class to take!

very nice man and class was always interesting and most of the time funny... didn't get the best grade but i enjoyed going to class

His exams were hard, however, there were other ways in which you were able to raise your grade. He was very clear. Very good proffesor at MSU.

Masterfully commanded a large class (>100), not afraid to chastise unruly students, instinctual knowledge of the source material. A very enlightening class!

pretty fun class, kept my motivated my last semester before graduation so he had to be a good teacher, right? I earned a B, his tests and papers are moderate.

Great teacher, excellent class, but tests are ridiculous. I studied my ASS off (and I have a 3.5 gpa), and managed to only pull myself up to a B+. You must read the book, although half of the things on his tests have nothing to do with anything you read or talk about in class. You do learn a LOT though and he makes the class interesting.

he's awesome! He was always cracking jokes and made things interesting to the point you actually wanted to go to class (even at 8:30 AM). His tests are exactly what he says they will be - just read the book and take good notes and you'll be fine! I totally recommend him!!!

Loveee HIm! By far by most favorite class at MSU!Love his lectures,he's very precise,no papers, only quizzes and tests, nothing unexpected though. His tests and quizzes are hard, only if you don't go to class. He makes you intersted in the subject..he is hystericall!!! I would def recommend him if you want to expericence the best class at MSU!!

His lectures are boring, and there is a lot of reading, and the tests and quizzes are incredibly difficult, whether you read or not. He is a fair teacher though and curves the grades, and he can be pretty funny.

Very good class. 4 quizzes 2 exams. He's very fair in curving the grades. You can't do well unless you read and go to class/take good notes, but he's a great professor. He gives you the perfect forumla to pass, follow it! Definatly take him if you're a psych major, you learn a lot.

Great teacher! Just do the reading and go to class and you will ace it no problem. TAKE GOOD NOTES!! some specific questions on tests are right out of the lectures.

One of the BEST. Learned the most ever. Just a terrific professor with a great sense of humor. Not easy, but extremely fair.

this class is hard because there's so much reading, but he is a really nice guy and very funny. He kept me awake during class. He tells you that you need to attend class and read to pass and thats exactly what you need to do. Tests are really hard but he curves very fairly. Very interesting material. Accepts absences if you tell him before.

The best professor I've had at MSU by far. The class and exams aren't the easiest, but if you study and take thorough notes you will do fine. The class is very interesting, and his stories regarding his own patients and practice are great! He offers his time to anyone in need, and is just an all around sweet guy. I would def recommend him!

This professor makes psyc really interesting. You have to take good notes and read all the material in his class if u want to get an A. His tough on his quiz and tests but he curves the grades if the class does poorly. I can say that he is very fair. He is also a funny guy and he keeps his class awake. I would recommend this professor :) !!!!

his tests are impossible! I studied and did the readings and only got a C. he says he curves the tests but he adds like 2 pts to them. I would NOT reccomend this teacher if you want to improve your gpa..infact..i wouldnt reccomend him at all...DONT TAKE HIS CLASSSSS

AMAZING!!! He made a really difficult subject to understand so much fun to learn. He's funny and really makes the subject come alive for his students. I would take his class over and over and over. And sit in the very front and center seat. He likes that.

awesome guy but the class is HARD...you have to do all of the readings and come to every class cuz if you miss one your screwed with the material. He's funny and really explains things well. If your willing to put efford into the class and really study i recomend him.

He is a great guy and cracks good jokes. he doesnt kid around though with attendence or tardyness unless u have an excuse and contact him ahead of time. Good teacher, not alot of hw, take a ton of notes and study hard the tests are very tough

Friedman is a really great professor. He really knows what he's talking about and makes the lectures interesting and funny. I'll warn you though, the class is tough. If you want an easy A do not take this class because it requires a lot of studying.

I really liked this professor. He challenges you, which is good, so if you are looking for an easy A he's not the guy to take. He wants you to do well, but he makes you really work for it. There is A LOT of reading and the exams are hard, but if you pay attention, take good notes, and read you will be fine.

This guy is a cool dude. He never calls on the shy kids and explains everything really well. the only homework are the readings which you actually have to read to get a decent grade. He made the class fun with his jokes, a very lovable guy. We had 2 TA's that held useful study sessions before tests. Listen, take notes, and read and youll get an A

his class was really hard. i spent six hours studying for midterms and got a 50. you have to know EVERYTHING he covers, from the text, to the articles and to the notes. You can't miss class because you'll feel completely lost. If you're looking for a challenge, take his class.

Good teacher. HARD tests. Three tests. Midterm/final. He curves the grade, but you still end up with a lousy grade. I found his tests to be too hard. Funny and keeps attention.

have to keep up with the readings; attendance is a must, if not u will feel lost; lectures the full class; 4quizzes mid n final exam; funny interesting lectures; great prof! wont be bored; no hw except readings. again, keep up with the readings!

only take him if you are willing to work hard. a lot of readings but you learn a lot. definitely need the book.quizes are hard but TA's help u out.4 quizes, midterm and final. fair grader. but hard class

Dr Friedman is a great teacher. He is very intelligent and practices the stuff as a psycologist so he knows what hes talking about. He is just VERY hard. no matter how much you study it seems impossible to get an A. he is very generous with the curve though. if you want to learn and dont mind the work, take him..you wont regret it

Dr. Friedman is a really nice and fun professor, however there are four quizes plus a midterm and a final. All of the tests are difficult, if you want to do good you have to do all of the readings. Attendance is mandatory. Im a B student and ended up with a lousy grade, a C. Dont take him if you are looking for an easy A or B.

I studied a week in advance for atleast 2 hours a day, and i got a D on the quiz. alot of reading and studying. i dont recommend him if you need individual attention with teachers because his TA's do all the work. this class is hard!!!!

Very knowledgeable and knows what he is talking about. makes class interesting with lots of facts. tests are HARD, you must write EVERYTHING he says and you HAVE to read the material. no visual aids so he teaches the old school way. take if you want to major in psych if not pass him

Take him if you want to be a psychology major. YOu will learn so much. If you don't like his class then that means you are not cut out to be a psych major..he is hilarious. class is never dry.

Great professor.Very funny and tries to make class interesting. The tests are very hard but you will learn alot. Lots of reading but as long as you keep up and take good notes on lectures you will be fine. No essays and no homework besides reading. I would have him as my professor again if I could.

Great teacher. He's really funny and knows what he is talking about. Reading is a key, if you don't read you will NOT PASS. Also many of his fill in questions are based on his lectures so take good notes. Overall a great teacher but very hard tests! Study, study, study!!

As long as you do the assigned readings and take notes in class you'll do fine. There's no tricks on his exams, no writing. Just read what he tells you too.

He's awesome. Class is always interesting, he's very funny, he won't help you individually (unless you come up to him after class) but that's because it's a huge class and there are TA's. Buy the textbook, the tests are just what's in the chapters, and ask questions if you're confused. It's not an easy A, but it's not hard and he's very likable.

One of the best professors I ever had.
