TAKE HIM! such a nice guy. tests are kind of hard but if you study you will do just fine. lecture is pretty boring, but he posts all the powerpoints on D2L.

He is a great teacher. He has amazing power points, everything that is on the test, is on his powerpoints. You dont have to go to class all the time, which is nice, but I would say that you should go as much as you can. Tests are hard, but all anatomy tests are hard, just study lots!

Dr. Garbrecht is a VERY nice guy. His class is very boring. He just reads his powerpoints and tests are straight from the powerpoints. Although, his tests questions can be very tricky. So study hard and study often that's why it's anatomy!

Overall I liked him a lot. He just reads off of powerpoints so its not really necessary to go to class... read the book though and look at the SI notes.. they help a lot. His tests suck.. they're hard. And visit him in office hours, he's extremely helpful.

ahhh the Dr. McDreamy of Winona! He is a SUPER great guy... ALWAYS willing to help! Has an open door policy and would love to help if he can. Class is hard... but its suppose to be.. its Anat. and Phys.! You don't have to go to class but it really does help to hear him explain things... and he gives great examples.

This class is very hard with lots of information crammed into every lecture, but its anatomy and it's gonna be hard no matter what teacher you have. Prof. Garbrecht is a great teacher who is always willing to help and there is extra credit on each test and quiz which helps too! Would definitely recommend taking him if you have the choice!

This class was overall a difficult class but he is a really nice teacher and is willing to answer any and all questions. If you have to take Bio 211, he is one of the better teachers to take.

GREAT Professor! Dr.G is extremely helpful and is always willing to help you out if you have any questions. I'm not going to say the class is easy because no Anatomy or Physiology class is easy. But the way he conducts the class makes it so that you can be very successful but you still definitely have to put the time in yourself. TAKE HIM FOR SURE!

He is the best college professor I've ever had! Is soo helpful and willing to help you succeed. The tests are right from his notes so attendance isn't mandatory however he does offer extra credit if you do attend sometimes! I would take him if he taught every class at WSU!

I love Garbrecht! He is way easier to understand than other A&P professors. I strongly advise you to choose him.

Pretty easy class considering the alternative teachers for A & P, he reads right off the Power Point presentations that he puts online so you don't really have to go to class. If you go to Open Labs and SI (or even just do the worksheets) you will get an A. I would definitely recommend taking him, great teacher overall.

Very good professor. Reads straight from his powerpoints and the tests are multiple choice. The tests are very easy if you consistently study the powerpoints because there all the material on the tests are only from the powerpoints. You have to be disciplined to study for lab.

AMAZING TEACHER! take him if at all possible. His class is easy if you pay attention and review his power points. No book work , and its all straight from lecture !! I would RECOMMEND him!!

Tough subject, but he makes it easy to understand. I felt he would elaborate a little too much for my own taste (I'd rather study independently for this sort of class), but I think it might help other students hearing him repeat things. Only complaint: Slow grader!! Just a scantron will take about a week to get graded. :(

A & P is a difficult class because of all the information you need to learn, however, Dr. Garbrecht is a knowledgeable instructor who knows how to relate the info. to students. He really wants you to learn, and he is very willing to help you if you need it. He is a fair professor, if you put the work into the class, you will earn a good grade.

Dr. G is an awesome anatomy professor! I would suggest not buying the textbook and only buy the lab manual. This has everything you need to survive the class. His lectures can be kind of dry but other than that it is a great class. Definitely take him if you can!

I thought that Dr. G was monotone in lecture (read off the ppt). He came alive in lab. I never opened the textbook. I always used the labbook (ask him first but I also bought the lab and textbooks from the previous year... just compare them for some of the units (ask a friend with a newer copy or Dr. G has the new book)). Great prof 4 great class.

He's very intelligent in his field, clear in all his lectures (unless your the %50 drooling on your desk asleep), and fair in testing. I got a 101 in the class and this is how- note card each lecture before the next one and make study guides for all labs. Ask yourself what questions he would ask. Go over each the day before whatever exam.

I am a repeat offender of A&P 1.I had someone different the first time that was awful cough cough Wilson. Garbrecht is an amazing professor. He talks kind of fast, but everything he says is on the powerpoint. Tests are hard, as they should be, but study your ass of and you WILL pass!

The class is straight forward. He has 5 tests through the semester and NOT a cumulative final. I didn't have him for lab. He is very willing to answer questions that you have. Powerpoints are self-explanatory. Study for the tests! Don't cram, you won't do well if you do. I spent about an hour a day outside of class and had a solid A at the end.

He made AP1 so much easier to understand. I had taken it first with Wilson and bombed it. Now I have a B! He gives random extra credit for attendance, the tests are easy if you study. There is no cumulative final, there are quizzes between exams. but all his exams and quizzes have extra credit. TAKE HIM FOR ANATOMY, you wont regret it!!!

Dr. Garbrecht is a must-have professor for anat and phys!! He is such a nice guy, and he is extremely helpful. Gives a ton of extra credit on quizzes and tests. He also will give pop quizzes when people start skipping class, which is an easy 5 extra credit points. Doesn't weigh any grades. Lectures can be boring, but his class is worth taking!

Take A&P with him if you get the chance! His lectures are easy to understand and relate to real medical situations. As long as you attend class and pay attention you're set.

Attending class is not mandatory, but he gives random extra credit in class. You should do fine in this class as long as you study and don't slack off. He is willing to help you outside of class and is easy to understand. I would highly recommend taking A&P with him!

This professor was a very good teacher, however don't expect any opportunities for extra credit or any curves on tests. Hes straight to the point and likes to get things done in class with little time for off topic discussion.

Dr. Garbrecht is a great anatomy professor! He is super chill (comes to class in sandals and shorts). He gives great examples in lecture that you many people can relate to. He only has quizzes, exams and lab exams. So studying is essential and you won't be able to pass without it. GO TO S2I!!

My major of movement science and past experience of being athlete lead to me to take this course, i focus more on the practical and application. This is one of my best experience in WSU: only 10 students, like graduate course, frequent interaction with student in the class. I learned many stuff I want to learn, amazing human hormonal system.

Dr. Garbrecht is one of the better professors for anatomy 1. I took his class and I know many people that have done well in it this semester. The only downside is other professors allow cheat sheets and extra credit. He doesn't offer many extra credit opportunities and your grade is solely based off tests, quizzes, a paper, and lab exams.

He explains things very well and makes it clear what you need to know for tests. Very helpful if you don't understand something. I studied hard for each test and quiz and did fairly well. He makes lectures go by pretty quick by making information fun to learn and uses very applicable examples.

NO comprehensive final at the end of the semester! Wilson and Thompson do have one. He was very friendly and encouraged students to ask questions. He is a very nice guy as well. Lecture notes are easy to follow, didn't use TB much. Exams and quizzes are just from lecture notes. Print lecture slides out! I DO NOT recommend skipping lecture.

He only gives you exams based on the notes that he goes over in class. The other Anatomy professors usually take from the book as well forcing you to read but Garbrecht does not do this. He was an awesome professor and as long as you pay attention during lecture and go to S2I you should be more than fine!

The nature of this class is hard and he does dumb it down which helps but I highly recommend s2i and lots of studying. he encourages questions and was pretty available outside of class. sit in front too bc he writes on board!!!

He also makes class interesting and is very helpful if you have any questions. There is a paper he has you do at the end of the semester, but it's nothing to worry about.

Garbrecht is a great teacher for A&P. His lecture notes are very organized and to the point, so it makes it clear what he wants you to know for tests and quizzes. However, I feel as if other A&P professors go into more detail and expect you to learn more. Either way, he does a very good job of explaining difficult concepts, I highly recommend!!

Took A&p through Garbretch this past semester and he was very available for office hours and willing to help you understand content if you are confused. He does allow laptop use and recording but prefers students who take the notes by hand. Definitely would take it again through him!

I was struggling with the lecture exams and doing really well on the lab exams so be aware that that can happen. I went in to get some pointers on the lecture exams and his advice helped me improve my exams by two letter grades! Great class, great prof!

The tests were spread out evenly and questions were not insanely difficult, but difficult enough you needed to study. If you attend lectures and study hard outside of class, you will do well.

Dr. Garbrecht is the best BIOL 211 professor ever! He is very clear on what he wants you to learn. Make sure to study though because his quizzes and exams can be difficult if you don't do any preparation beforehand. There is extra credit on all tests. Anyways, he's a wonderful professor and is really helpful if need clarification on anything.

Taking anatomy with Garbrecht was a great way to get introduced to the topic. It's clear how much he cares about his students doing well and finding the material interesting. This class is not easy... you MUST study, although Garbrecht makes this class tolerable and even enjoyable.

I personally thought his testes were tough, so I asked him how to improve and he gave me pretty great feedback and it improved my test score. As I have heard, he is the easiest Anatomy professor. I did not enjoy anatomy what so ever, but he made it a little bit better. He will repeat the important information and his grading is very clear. You MUST study for the test. Beware the bone test is the first exam of the year which you must look at every day or you'll take an L like me

Dr. Garbrecht is an amazing professor in class and outside of class. His lectures allowed me to understand concepts from biology and chemistry that in the past I have struggled with. I would recommend printing off the lecture slides and going off of them. His tests rely mostly on his powerpoints. You get quizzes for his class which are easy points.

Dr. Garbrecht is seriously one of the best professors ever. He splits up his grading system by 4 lab exams, 4 quizzes, and 4 lecture exams. He doesn't test you heavily on the information tested on the quiz on the lecture exam and there are extra credit opportunities on both of them. You are only tested on lecture information. Go to S2i! He goes through a lot of material in lecture. Every exam for lab or lecture and quiz always has bonus questions for extra credit! This class takes time and effort into looking over notes daily. But if you stay on top of studying and use S2i you should do pretty well!

I had him during COVID so it was all online but still a nice professor. His lectures are very easy to follow and straight forward from the notes. His tests are a pretty hard but if you understand the notes fully you will do fine. Also super monotone when he talks but still interesting.

His tests are straight from the lecture powerpoint so as long as you pay attention in lectures and take notes, you should be fine. Dr. G's lectures are so well explained. You can tell that he cares about educating! STUDY!! Most of your grade will rest on quiz grades. But, he only quizzes you on what you learn in the lectures (other than the lab exams that are anatomy-identifying).

Mark was a great professor for sure. Does care a lot and tells you everything you need to do to pass. Which means attendance and a ton of studying at least every day if you want an A. I took this class as a business major who needed a lab and what a mistake. Class itself for a nursing student makes sense. Not for someone looking for a lab credit.

Dr.Garbrecht is AMAZING! Highly recommend for A&P1 and wish he taught the second half of the series. Exams based straight off of powerpoints and always offered EC on exams. You need to study to do well, but if you attend S2I and review powerpoints you will do well. Lab quizzes based on identification and are fairly easy if you put in the effort!

Best Biology Professor @WSU!! Lectures are easy to understand and tests are based on lecture. He is very generous with extra credit (Hint: Stay for whole lecture.) If you put in effort it will be a very easy A. The people who fail this class are the ones who don't go to lecture and don't study out of class.

The labs were hard to teach yourself, but if you don't slack too much, you'll be fine. Honestly one of my favorite classes and my only complaint is that he doesn't teach A+P 2 anymore!!

Dr.G doesn't give homework only quizzes and exams. there is extra credit within the quizzes and exams which helps. before your first lab quiz and lecture quiz he gives practice ones which are extra credit. you can earn up to 5 extra credit points. DO THEM! he's amazing and understands A & P is hard! Online textbook! don't buy one from bookstore!!!!

Garbrecht is a great professor! there is no homework in the class so it's 100% tests. there's no real final, it's just lecture exam 4. Lecture and lab are completely different classes so be prepared to study. I studied abt 3 hours each week and got away with a B, but most people needed to study for longer (Im just lazy & have 0 time management)

Dr. Garbrecht is the best. He is very good at explaining things during lecture and goes beyond the slides. He is also generous with extra credit. There is no homework, so your grade is based on weekly lab quizzes, four lab exams, and four lecture exams. Lecture exams are only on stuff from the slides and things he talks about/writes on the board.

Best professor! Very organized class and he give you everything you need to succeed. You do have to study lots to keep up with the material. He gives out lots of extra credit opportunities which is very nice!

I love Garbrecht. Definitely best Bio professor in the the department. Lecture=exams. He does give out a lot of extra point on each quiz and exams. Thoughtful and will help you out.

I took A&P I with Garbrecht and it was great! If you take good notes and put time into studying for the class you will get a good grade. He wants all of his students to learn and is very fair when it comes to quizzes and exams, he won't test you on anything he doesn't teach.

Dr. G. is by far one of my favorite professors at WSU. You can tell he really cares about the material and wants his students to succeed. Exams and lab exams took a lot of studying and time outside of class, but the expectations for the content on both were very clear, so no left field questions. I learned so much from Dr. Garbrecht!

He puts just the basic information on the slides and uses lecture time to describe, discuss, and go over the top (make sure you write down everything he says, it can be tested). I would just make sure you never skip class and are always paying attention. As long as you take time to study each day, it will not be hard to pass his class.

I loved taking Bio 211with him. He was a great professor. I would recommend him to anyone.
