Pretty easy for an 8 week writing class. One annotated bibliography, one persuasive essay (due towards the end, and you know about them in advance). Each week 1 discussion post and 2 replies- 100 words each, and 3 total quizzes. No textbook needed. Gives good feedback, overall easy to earn an a when you follow word count criteria.

Due dates are not flexible, he does give good feedback although I think he has a general response and copies and paste it. Slightly short with me, I felt the few times I emailed him although he responds very quickly.

It's probably better to take Professor Gatlin in a class instead of online if you're really interested in English. With that said, he was not terribly difficult in the online class. Each week you post 100-200 words and reply to two other students on the board. There's a test every 2-3 weeks, pretty easy tests. Final is a research paper.

Professor Gatlin lays out a clear path to success. My class was 12 weeks online. Each week there are reading assignments, a multiple-choice quiz, and one discussion question. There is one mid-term paper and a multiple-choice final exam. His lecture notes are exceptional and will be the key to an A in the course if you study. Highly recommended.

I just had this class for 12 weeks and I liked it because he is very clear in what he wants from students and he gives everything you need in class to understand the work. The class is set up so its easy to follow each week and clear. As long as you keep up each week it's good. I have him again for ENC1102 in the summer.

I took Professor Gatlin for a 12-week course and enjoyed most of it. There was a discussion each week for homework and there were three big assignments. There is no extra credit or re-dos so make sure you complete your work on time. I dropped from an A to a D because of the persuasive essay. Take him if you're confident in your writing.

This class was the best online I'd had yet. The class is easy to navigate and set up in the same style each week so you get used to it fast. He graded fast. Like within two days of an assignment with feedback and a rubric. And his lectures and directions are very good. Excellent class and professor. I'm taking him again for my lit class.

He has a discussion post every week, along with 2 short peer responses. Quizzes were 5 questions and were easily found in the weekly lecture, although sometimes the wording could make it a bit confusing. The only thing I would say could bring you down is the bibliography and essay because of how much they are worth. The essay itself is worth 40%.
