Great teacher, keeps class fun and exciting

I took his web class. His study guides are way too vague and broad. They don`t really help. Requires way too much work. We were completing an average of 8800 words during the semester. Quizzes are easy! Don`t stress on the papers! The tests are HARD!!!!!!

Great teacher...tons of fun! He talks tough in the beginning to scare off anyone who doesn't want to work, but in the end he's okay. The exams actually turned out to be the easiest part of the course. One of the most awesome history teachers on campus!

Fun and enjoyable history instructor. It may be true that all history teachers are left-biased, but this is the *least* biased instructor you'll have, which is a definite plus, although he is biased. You'll get a lot more out of the lectures than political garbage, which is more than I can say about the other history teachers here, haha.

If you only listen to Goldman teach, he sounds like an ordinary fun teacher. Only when you go and do research can you apreciate the fact he has covered all aspects and penetrated the subject he is teaching. He does it as though its appearent truth but if you read whats out there you apreciate his lectures and grow to respect him as a historian.

Mark Goldman is the best teacher I've ever had! His classes are so interesting, and he's hilarious. His tests are kind of hard, but just make sure you go to class and take good notes and you'll be fine. I got an A, but even if I hadn't I wouldn't regret taking his class because I learned SO much. I wish every teacher was like him.

Best teacher at TCC, and most exciting class. I honestly had no interst in history unitl his class now history os my favorite subject. Work hard and complete your quizzes and you will leave with an A. He keeps your attention and is clear on what the test covers. I Definetly recommend taking his class before he retires.

The best Movie you will see all semester. No flashy special effects, but the plot makes up for it. If you want a history class to perform it's function as a foundation course, namely correcting your view of the world to more peaceably coincide with the forces that shaped it, take this course.

Goldman is a great teacher who keeps you engaged with his loud, booming enthusiasm. He enjoys what he does, which makes it interesting. He doesn't lecture as much as tell lively stories, like when he told us about the early life of Teddy Roosevelt and how it influenced his personality and presidency. Very interesting teacher!

If I took this class on campus I definetly would have gotten a higher grade, but still passed. If you take this course online, be prepared to write 2 500 word essays each week. Tests are pretty straight foward with the review, but still a little rough. Pretty easy though.

Professor Goldman is the best. Before his class I never was interested in history. He's inovated and easy to follow. The only time you will need your book is for a quiz. His test are directly from his notes and easy if you go to class. I am taking him again for AMH1050.

Attendance isnt mandatory, but he is quite funny and clarifies most.

Great teacher. Doesn't use dates on test. He does take attendance, but it is worth going. Quizes are all easy A's and online. He cares about his students. The tests are easy as long as you attend class and don't fall behind.

The tests never seemed like they came from the lectures. Just do the essay assignments and read the book. You should be good.

this is one of the greatest teachers i've ever had throughout my whole academic life. he's hilarious and makes history enjoyable. i fall asleep in classes a lot but it is positively impossible to do in his class due to his interesting lectures. i definitely recommend anyone to take his class. awesome, awesome man. knows what he's talking about!

This is not a class for slackers or those who don't like to skip class. Started off a little boring (just the lumps and coals of the subject matter) but started to get really interesting. This is a real college course, thus you will haft to study accordingly. As he says he is "certified insane"

A required 1000 level class, but Goldman teaches more at a 2000 level (atleast)would not recommend if your taking other hard level classes as a good amount of time must be spent studying. Do able yes, very passable you just haft to put in the amount of work required. Overall a great teacher, well spoken, and has a interest in the subject.

ONLINE. He was a good online teacher. All study guides were verbatim to test you just have to put fourth the effort. A few assignments but not too many.

I took this class ONLINE and was very impressed. He had weekly assignments but they seemed to be solely to keep you on track with your reading. He also had a great study guide. Each test 35 mult choice 2 essay. Just read and write...write more than you think you need to. Definately would take his class again.

There's NOT a lot of material to memorize...you just have to listen and review your notes before tests. I'm not an outstanding student [at all] and I got an A. He kinda grades on work-ethic...he gives you the essay questions ahead of time! And he checks them! Before the test! And he makes it fun. Those who say it's hard: Come-on guys, it's college.

THIS IS THE BEST CLASS EVER! took him for amh1041 got a B only because i did bad on the first test. Currently in his amh1050 course. The only teacher i ever had that makes history fun! it is very vital to come to class because the notes are 70 percent of the test. Do the volunteer essay turn in because they actually help. EVERYONE SHOULD TAKE HIM!

Really clear on what he expects of you from the get go with the syllabus. Weekly assignments are easy and only take an hour or so, and the study guides are exactly what are on his tests, so if you put in the time, it should be an easy A.. however, he didn't communicate with me very well. And by not very well, I mean he never returned my emails.

FAVORITE TEACHER! gives essay questions for every test and lets you turn them in to see if you have the right answer for them before the test. thats the only reason you need the book. all multiple choice is from lecture. i hated history before this class and now im changing my major because of him. im taking him again next semester. final not cumm

Mr. Goldman is a teacher who cares for his students. His online class is really easy. He gives you study guides for all tests and the study guides have the EXACT questions on them! He's also a good prof. to take in class as well. His class is on a percent system rather than points so your grades really do matter! Study hard and you'll pass easy!

In retrospect, what he expects from you and the work is child's play compared to a 3000-4000 level history class--enjoy it while it lasts. I found him to be very enthused about the subject matter. Even checks your essay questions prior, how much easier is it then that? Those who complain wear expecting a open-book style free ride.

Love this professor! Only 4 or 5 tests, quizzes online that are impossible not to get a 100 on, a couple projects that you have a month to do each. 70% of test is from lecture notes. I hated history before this and thought it was so boring, but now I love it! He makes it so interesting. Just signed up for him again next semester.

Mr. Goldman is a wonderful history teacher. In high school, I ranged from a C- to a D, but when taking his class, I am managing from an A to a B. He makes everything really interesting and he helps you understand everything. He gives quizzes online to help you succeed. He has a great personality and he is just a lovely person in general. :)

I failed his class the first time because I hardly showed up and didn't take it serious. As long as you do the essay questions and take good notes from his lectures you will pass. Do the essay questions and study them they are a good chunk of test grades. Research project and quizzes are easy. His lectures are interesting. I took him for both amh's

He cares about his students and has a great personality! I did fail the class because it was my fault. Procrastination was my main problem. His tests though were honestly IMPOSSIBLE unless you're into history prior to his class. My advice DO NOT TAKE HIM... take it online w. Jarett Phipps. I have an A this time around.

The exams are very easy and not accumulative (even the final, super helpful) He even gives you floater "Vocab Quizzes" online with the verbatim answers he wants. You do need to attend for lecture notes, but he's a fun guy to listen to. LECTURES ARE IMPORTANT! And you don't really have to read the book. Highly Recommend.

I took Amh2010 and past with a C. It was really hard and I did terrible on all the exams so I took a different professor. His Exams come straight from his slides. He gives 5 possible essay questions in advanced and gives 3 on the exam. I have mostly 90s and 100s on the assignments but I failed one exam and I some how a 59 In the class now.

I had his express class. Miss ANY classes you will fail. He does not post PowerPoints and gives no extra credit. His tests are separated into two parts: essays and multiple choice and essay questions are on your syllabus. Every class is a two hour lecture where notes are KEY. You can use notes for quizzes which are just definitions.

Easy easy A if you take his classes online. His assignments are clear cut, and are right in the book. They are either definitions or essays. His exams are also crystal clear considering he gives you the exam as your study guide, you just have to be willing to read the book for the answers (usually the first sentence of new paragraph for answer).

All HW requires lots of reading & writing. No quizzes. Took 3 weeks to answer an email. Good test study guides but gives 4 possible essay questions & says 2 will be on test, won't say which 2. Allows you to make up unfinished work, incl tests, near last few weeks. Gotta work hard.

Professor Goldman has the best lecture class at TCC!!! Be aware though, you must attend to pass. Just about everything you need to make an 'A' on his tests is in the LECTURES. Yes, the book is needed. The mini essay questions he assigns from the book (and gives you ample time to prepare) WILL SHOW UP ON THE TEST! Quizzes are a cake walk.

Professor Goldman was a great history teacher to me. His lectures were clear cut and studying his lectures helped me pass test. I goofed off first half of semester but after I got back focused, semester was a breeze. He is very funny and makes lectures interesting. Taking again for AMH2020.

Tests are harder than expected, homework is a breeze. I study for every test and still don't do my best. I don't believe he's as bad as everyone makes him out to be. He's been great so far.

Don't expect to get out of class early ever. Graded on 2 papers, vocab quizzes (Can have the words with you), & 4 tests with essay questions. 5 essay Q's given a head of time but only 3 on test. MUST go to class or you won't pass the test. He is funny and has a passion for history.

Awesome professor really cares about his students and their futures. He was an awesome professor who made class as amusing and fun as possible. His test were based of the lectures and stuff he says he also gives the essay questions in advance so you can work on them and get feed back before the test date. He is really helpful when it comes project.

This class is all about the lecture, so if you can't sit through a heavy lecture for a while I don't recommend taking his classes. Tests were based completely off of the lecture and if you memorized the notes from lecture you would be fine. Quizzes were online but "answers" would be posted before hand for help on the quizzes.

I really enjoyed taking this class online. It was very easy, and the work took little time to do. If you take the class online you will have 1 assignment every week for about 2 or 3 weeks, then he provides a study guide for the test, which literally goes in order of the questions on the actual exam. Would highly recommend taking this class.
