It's a waste of time to study for tests. No matter how much you 'think' you understand your homework, you'll still do bad on the tests. His TA's do not know much. Over half of KU applies to Business school and his class is why only 10% who apply get in. It's a required class so just do your best to get through it and try not to stress out!

So far the best teacher I have had at KU. This is my fifth year so I have had a lot! If you need help with anything, he is always willing to make time for you and wants to see you succeed. The people rating him poorly are those who recieved a bad grade do to their inability to understand simple logic.

He's sharp, enthutiastic, and cares alot about his teaching. Maybe the business students are not used to studying in general and learning not so simple concepts. Come on guys, he gives easy quizzes, free voucher points, and the assignments he gives are stright forward. That's about 50 % of your grade in the class.

This is the truth from an A-B student: He is a good guy, everyone is right about that. This class is VERY difficult though. I highly suggest studying the notes before every class period so you are prepared for quizzes, which are almost every class. Lots of the material is hard to grasp, overall it's not an easy course at all.

Yes this class is hard. You HAVE to take it as a business school student; it doesn't transfer from other schools, it's not online, and he's the only professor. Go to TAs and his office hours, there's plenty of times and it'll help a lot. He's extremely smart, qualified, and VERY nice in person. You'll learn a lot- and that's the reason you're here.

To even be allowed to take the final, you must have an equivalent of a B or above. However, then to get an A you need 9/10 on the final, which is multiple choice with 8 answers per question, no partial credit. The score on the final is the grade you get overall. You can skip the final and get a C, or take it and possibly get a D or F overall.

mark was a great person and helped me throughout this class by going to his office hours. he knew that I had mental health issues and helped me with that. this class was hard on me, i was so happy to just pass. i also had an amazing tutor that helped me with this. i do really appreciate mark, if you want to succeed just ask for help, you can do it!

Mark is very understanding and helpful, he makes a difficult class structure pretty easy to ace in my opinion. KU's BUS 150 is a weird class no matter what professor you choose, everything is taught through online articles (sometimes very long) and YouTube videos. Mark has a very easygoing dynamic in class and lectures were actually fun.

Mark's classes were engaging, and there were always chances to work with your table groups, so it was a fine class. BUS 150 is a weird. Do the readings and go to class to be more successful in the class and on quizzes. He's understanding if you contact him about grades or assignments. Overall, he is a nice guy and a good professor.

This class is weird no matter who you take it with, so I would definitely recommend Mark. You are always with a group which makes it easier but there is a lot of materials you need to read for homework assignments. He sometimes goes on tangents during class but it will help you understand the material covered. Overall great professor for this class

Mark is a great professor. He genuinely wants students to leave the class with more knowledge than they had before coming in. He has experience as an attorney too, which is pretty cool

This class was a real challenge, but unstuckstudy ai and the free textbook helped me get through it. The professor has a strict grading system, so staying engaged and asking for help when needed is key to succeeding.

Best professor I have ever had, hands down. Mark is engaging and makes you use your brain. I think the negative reviews you see on this site about him are largely from frat bros who can't crack the code.

Mark Haug lacks respect for his students. His exams are unnecessarily difficult with answers meant to confuse students rather than test their understanding of the content.

Do not take Bus150 from him. He doesn't teach anything during class, the other teachers do. Other teachers help go over the quiz questions before the quiz (like basically answers) and he does not. He also says he has never read the quizzes and tests so he doesn't have to “lie to us.” The class is designed to be lots of work but he makes it worse.

Most of the bad reviews are for him teaching a different class. For Bus 150 however, he was a great option. If you do the readings and show up to every class period, it is practically impossible to not get an A. Class would usually only last 30 to 45 minutes, and I don't think we stayed the whole time the entire semester.

Bad reviews are for other classes and kids who were weeded out. Mark is a old school and calls it what is typa guy. You'll either like him or you won't and I loved him. He'll let you out early 90% of the time, most classes are 20-30 minutes as the year goes on. Pretty easy intro class if you just show up,pay attention, and do the assignments.

He is a difficult professor to a lot of students, but if you show up and are engaged, he is a great professor and getting an A should be easy. The course material is interesting and relevant, and he really cares about his students and looks to get everyone involved in class. I think most of the bad ratings on here are from people who didn't pass.

Most people don't like him, but I think he's just old school. If you show up to class and put effort in, you'll get an A. If you skip class however, you will fail. He cares a lot and sometimes talks too much, but he really does care about his students and you can tell he knows what he's talking about.

I am pretty sure I have never hated a professor more. While his class itself wasn't difficult, I don't think that I have ever felt more uncomfortable sitting in class than with him. If you are a minority in literally any way, DO NOT TAKE HIM. The way he covers the materials is very biased to his own beliefs, which can make it difficult to learn.
