Great teacher, very enthusiastic and energetic. Gives lectures but they're not the typical boring monotone ones. If you read the book and come to class for lecture the tests are not hard; plus he always reviews to give you hints on what to focuss on. He's very fair and makes the class fun and interesting.

Professor Healy is a chill guy. It's a night class so you can get bored but he's interesting and can tell funny stories. Attendance is mandatory. 3 tests is all your grade is made up of so study for them. They are very easy though. He did offer extra credit in my class but it was minimal and really it's not necessary. You don't need the book though

i took the psych and speech combo class at De Anza. it is really cool. Mark is very relaxed and fun. ask him about his days when he was the singer for the Balboas. highly recommend, especially if you need to take speech and psych b/c it is more of a psych class then a speech class. teaches you how to get rid of fear of speeking

Mark is definitely a laid back teacher. His lectures cover most of the text questions. There were 3 tests and he's very lenient on the short essay portions, as long as you explain the basics. He passes around a role sheet every day, and there were about 30 points of extra credit. Also on each of the tests there were also extra credit questions.

I took mind control with this teacher and Matt Abrahams and finished the quarter with an A+. All the concepts he taught were clear and applicable to anyone's life. Only thing is he could be a little boring at times with his soft voice but he throws out some random jokes here and there to catch you off guard.

Mark's a great teacher! :) I'll say that general psych is definitely general, but it's not boring! Mark is really amusing but gets key points across. All tests come with a study guide. He tells a lot of good stories that are, most importantly, relevant to what the lesson is on. a plus: Good looking! hahha

One of the best teachers that I've ever had, and a De Anza alumni. He treats his students with respect, making the class feel like a group of peers and not subordinates. Humorous, nice, and relaxed. Everything is clear, and, if you take the class at least semi-seriously, you'll do well.

Your pretty much on your own online. There's no study guide of what he specifically wants. YOU MUST READ ALL CHAPTERS & TAKE GOOD NOTES YOURSELF. The test is straight from the books publisher. 3 TEST, MyVirtual Child project & automatic 10% grade for doing one Practice test regardless of grade you got practicing. I wish I had him in person! I failed psych before and when I took Healy's class it was so much fun. He made 7:30 classes entertaining and wanting to come back for more. As of the text book you will need it for the tests, but be sure to jot down all your notes and do the study guide. His final is like having another midterm so no need to stress and we rarely had homework.

Took his online class. The questions were in the book and in sequence too! Reading beforehand helps though. Grade consists of 3 online test, myvirtualchild, and completion of one online practice test.

Took psych 1 in class and enjoyed it. No hw, 4 exams. Read book and study the study guide and you will do fine. I took psych 14 online with him and that was a bit harder. I definitely had to study 10 times more. There were 3 exams and I had to study for hours. Not as easy as I imagined but still passable. Got B's on all of them.

TAKE HIM! He's very humorous and shows interest in the subject he teaches and very helpful. His tests are very straight forward, no trick questions. Take good notes and pay attention because majority of tests relate to his lectures. no essays just weekly assignments online. the final is just the last chapters you learn.

I got between 104% and 107% on every test, which is the bulk of the grade. Class is never boring, it always flew by. He tells interesting stories and make course content relevant to everyday life. I would recommend him highly as his learn methods were never too difficult but still allowed the class to learn. Great guy.

The online class was the best. There is a lot of reading but very easy read. The homework are chapter quizes that you take after reading, always gives you 100%. The tests are easy if you actually read the chapters.

Honestly, this class was so simple. There is a lot of reading, but it was really interesting. I regret taking it online because of how interesting it was. I seriously loved it. One of the best professors I've had. Makes the lectures lively and interesting. The boring parts were the videos he chooses meaning I'd rather listen to him talk than watch the videos he shows. Very chill guy with lots of stories that are relevant to the topic.

His class was interesting and he made us laugh all the time with silly examples, I enjoyed coming to this class every morning & learning new things his lectures were very helpful when it came to the exams and he provided good examples of how to use the formulas etc not a lot of math like other stats class so that's good since I hate math lol

I really enjoyed Prof Healy's class. His lectures are interesting. He also is helpful with choosing a major and knowing which majors will get you a job or not. He is clear about what he wants you to do and as long as you study for the tests you will get an A. He tells you exactly what to study for.

Took developmental psyc with him online.. the Connect site is pretty dope! You only have to read what's relevant then take easy quizzes (always full credit). He had us take a couple surveys and in exchange added 5% to one midterm and the final. This saved my butt because I got high B's on all the tests. I was happy I barely made the cut for an A!

He makes his classes fun to go to. Highly recommended. Not only was he an excellent teacher but he was an excellent guy to talk to and was very receptive to questions. Would take again in a heartbeat.

Mark not only does a good job at teaching psychology, he also gives great life lessons. He managed to make a 2 hour and 25 minute class interesting, concise, and informative. Didn't think I would like psychology, but he sparked an interest. If you pay attention in lecture and review your notes adequately, you will be fine.

Great lectures that relate back to common real world applications. Not the generic type of instructor that repeats information and expects the students to regurgitate, but emphasizes deeper understanding of concepts on a more interesting level. Relatively energetic lecturing style creates a better ambience than would be expected from a psyc. class.

This class is pretty easy, if you wanna get an A so just read the textbook clearly focusing on his tips. There are 4 test only. Also, he gives you extra credit. And homework assignments. He has a sense of humor, attractive voice and engages me in every lecture. If I have a chance I Would take him again.

You would have to buy the online account with the text book and do homework each weeks (easy) If you have a friend, your friend would write your name instead of you. He would give you three mid term exams and final exam.(multiple choices, short essays) Taking a note is very very important. He would give you online survey. (additional grade points)

Mark is an amazing Stats professor. He makes it fun and his online tools and videos are very interesting and some funny. Book is necessary. He is there anytime you need help. He is teaching this class through PAU and one of the best math teachers out there. Love his class!

Healy as a person is great. As a teacher eh. His notes are just bullets, you have to read more about it in the textbook to really understand the concepts. Homework is online but its $100+ for ONLY 12% of your grade. The rest 88% is based on exams. He's interesting but everything taught is common sense.

I had him for a 7:30 AM class and his lectures actually woke me up instead of putting me back to sleep! Although I wasn't awake enough to laugh at his jokes they are pretty funny. Lectures are easy because he gives good examples when necessary. If you do the online homework and study for the exams, you'll definitely pass!

He's not pretty strict but you'd feel he's disappointed when students dont attend class. SO ATTEND. Recommendable! THE BOOK IS EXPENSIVE THOUGH TALK TO HIM IF YOU CANT AFFORD.

Very clear lectures and the tests were on exactly what he said they would be on. Do the homework (you don't have to do it too well, I bs'd it and I got a fine grade) and attend and take notes on lectures, and review the test tips that he sends out and you'll be absolutely fine. Gives a ton of extra credit, so I got more than 100% on all tests.

Very good professor. I took the 7.30am class and it was totally worth it. Lecture contents are very relatable to real-life experience. Tests are simple if you attend and pay attention during his lectures because every word he said matters. There will be homework on every chapter online, which is a good reinforcer of what you have learnt.

His online class is really easy, but you have to be willing to read! It is an online class after all. The website he uses is pretty expensive but It's worth it. Extra credit was offered twice. He is super understanding and gets back to emails quickly. Take him, you'll get an A!

Healy gives some of the best lectures I've ever heard at De Anza. If you listen in class, take good notes, and do the online homework you won't have trouble with the exams, as they are pretty straight forward. Absolutely loved this class and would take again in a heartbeat.

Professor Mark was an amazing Psych teacher and is very approachable and always makes the class interesting and funny. All of the homework is online but it gives you all the answers so you don't have to think much. He hands out tip sheets before tests and as long as you study those specifically, you should come out of the class with an A.

Mark Healy is a great teacher. I took this class at 7:30 am but he kept me awake. He is funny, caring, and wants you to do well. He gives tip sheets before each test which I HIGHLY recommend you study because it will all be on the test. Each class is a lecture but he makes them interesting and has funny stories to share.

Difficult to fail this class. Exams are based more on lecture and TIP SHEETS. Take notes on what he writes down and WHAT HE SAYS. The whole quarter's homework could be finished the 1st week (now you don't have to worry about HW deadlines). You're doing more work than necessary if you take this instructor ONLINE, so take it in person.

The best teacher ever! He is hilarious and gives amazing lectures. I got over 100% on 2/3 exams. He is super cool! You do have to study for his exams but you'll be fine if you prepare well. His study guides are your key to passing his class as well as the online hw assignments but don't worry about knowing that material too much.

The course was great. In order to pass the class, you needed to read the book which was basically the whole course. There was a midterm and a final which was both multiple choice.

He is the G.O.A.T. Easy class and easy hw. He gives you a study sheet two days before an exam. As long as you do the study sheet, you'll pass the exams. Overall, he is amazing and if you have a chance to take him then do!

He gave really good examples on topics, I can fully understand what he is talking about. Have total of 4 exams and two days before the exam he will give out a study guide. If you fill out the study guide nicely and attend to his class everyday you will get an A in his class. He doesnt gave out much homework and the homework is graded by completion.

I really enjoyed his class. The lectures that he gives are really easy to understand. Lots of real life examples which helps even more. His tests are relatively easy too. Just use the study guide and define the words. Also make sure to read the textbook because sometimes his study guide have textbook-related stuff.

Hes slightly above moderate. He tries to connect with students. Each test is worth 25% of your grade so you definitely need to study for those. A small part of your grade is based on attendance. Dont buy the online material, we NEVER used it!

His Class is Super Super Easy. Just do the study guides that he gave 2 days before the exam and study that. You will get at-least an A -if you follow them. 4 test basically what he discussed in class.

He gives out study guides right before the exam. Make sure you know the answers to the different parts of the study guide. Not all of the information is from the textbook, some of it is from his presentations which make attendance mandatory, but as long as you know the info on the study guide, you'll get an A.

This professor's class is a cakewalk for those who are struggling with the concepts of Statistics. By simplifying the topics with small math involved, Healy has the best delivery of using terms of statistics and psychology to interest students. Also, majority of his quizzes and exams are based off the homework, so it's a piece of pie.

I took Professor Healy this summer quarter and it was my first college class and he made the lectures very entertaining and funny. He makes the information very easy to understand and hes a very nice cool guy who wants to help his students and Im planning on taking him again for stats!!

This is one of those classes where most of the learning comes from doing your homework because Healy tends to digress from the lectures. Its all good because he super funny and the work that we did do was on canvas, was manageable. Don't buy the text book, there is a free one online that you can download. There are 4 tests and a few hws on canvas.

Took this class for Fall 2018 in one of his morning classes. This class was most definitely not an easy A! I was hoping for it to be! I passed with a B. You do have to put in work meaning studying! BUT his lectures are awesome he is very thorough and he is funny he makes class enjoyable especially for a 7:30am class! Would take again!

One of the best professors at De Anza, hands down. A great first ge class to take and the subject is really interesting. Mark is a nice guy and makes lectures great, even early in the morning. I took Healy for statistics and He made the math so easy to learn and understand his lectures are always useful and he is very nice and thoughtful and he has a good sense of humor and I would always look forward to showing up to his class! I also took him for general psychology and he's just an amazing professor and person in general.

This class requires A LOT of dedication. All of the assignments are pretty much do it and you get credit. The midterms and final, on the other hand, are worth a whole lot (about 70%ish?). A lot of notetaking is required to do well in the class. You receive what you put into the class. Do your work and study and you'll do fine! He's a great teacher!

So I definitely have a diff experience than normal students because I took Stats before and I took his class during the coronavirus. But the gen structure should be the same: 3 exams 75% , 4 quiz 10%, some hw. VERY EASY if you took MATH 10 before. very general concepts and NOT MATH HEAVY. No calculations when we took final. Mark is great! He made sure that everyone in the class understood everything that we were talking about and paced out the material. He'd give examples that would help you understand the material better. He also tells entertaining stories about his life that also always had a way to be related to psychology in some sort of way.

Professor Healy is great! The content is honestly pretty easy. Basic math calculations that you will certainly be able to complete (do not worry at all). There are weekly quizzes and 3 tests. I rarely used the book and would rely heavily on his lectures for content. He is a great guy that tries to make the material relate to real life scenarios.

One of the best profs at De Anza. Psych stats isn't normal stats, its more about what methods of stats to do and why. He is great at relating to real life examples/applications. Quizzes are EZ if you pay attention. Exams require light-med review. Organized, professional, but down to earth professor who genuinely cares. You DO still learn!

I took Mark for both Psyc 1 and Psyc 15. It isn't an easy A like everyone is saying, however, he makes the class easy to do well in. He sends out a detailed study guide and the exams are based on that. His lectures are easy to follow and he gives everyday examples to make it easier to understand as well. And yes he does round up your grade.

His lectures were very engaging and fun. A lot of the class is reading the textbook and taking the test. There were also a lot of class discussions. Overall, it wasn't difficult as long as you read the textbook and looked over the key concepts.

Just do the work and you will pass. 4 exams (68% of final grade), all based on the book (free), just read it, and cmd F in case u forget terms. Lectures are fun, but u can pass without coming. I really dreaded taking this class because I'm not good at math but professor Healy made understanding stats as simple as it could be. He provided a free textbook which is a huge plus. The quizzes and midterms/final is not hard as long as you pay attention, take notes and refer back to the textbook and study guide he creates.

He's funny and entertaining in class, and lenient grader. The quizzes and tests were super easy. I just attended lectures and gave the assigned parts of the textbook a quick read without really studying yet nearly aced every quiz/exam. Easy class, do the study guide based on the textbook. Command f and basically go from there. Use a class discord and this class becomes a lot easier. I got an A and I didn't study at all should be easy for everyone if you use the study guide. Make sure to do extra credit helps a lot.

Quite possibly the best professor at De Anza. The class is structured in such a way that it caters to all types of students and ensures that everyone gets at least something out of it.

Don't need to get the textbook. Lecture is just a few 20ish minute youtube videos you can watch on 2x speed. 1 assignment and quiz every week. Quizzes, the 3 midterms, and the final are all open book. The midterms and final consist of 30 multiple choice, 20 fill in the blank, and 5 short essay questions. Assignments don't take long to do.

**REVIEW FOR PSYC64Y (Internship), was not listed as a course option here**. You're basically just writing papers and inputting hours for your internship experience. Prof. Healy is very kind and supportive if you email him with any questions! This class was very valuable to me - I gained a great deal of insight into the mental health care industry.

This class was great. Weekly quizzes and discussions based on the free online textbook. Assignments are open book. Lectures are super chill, he tells some funny stories and stops to answer questions. Highly recommend!

Biggest mistake was probably not taking his in person class. The professor offers a free 5 extra points for every exam as long as you do the survey offered.

This class is definitely an easy A! Prof Healy is super chill about grading. Only around 1 homework every week or two (very easy and short). 1 quiz for each chapter of the textbook which can take a lot of time to read. There are 3 exams and 1 final in total (mcqs and some short answers), all of them are open notes and extra credits are offered!

One of the best profs hands-down. Lectures were interesting and Healy broke down topics well. A lot of "definition" knowledge comes from reviewing the material outside of class, and prof connects them with examples or videos that help tie the topic together. Take him if you get the chance! I enjoyed Professor Healy's class. He makes me want to learn more about psychology, and the workload is not too bad. A couple of discussions here and there and a weekly quiz.

The class is very "learn it on your own" because it is a large class. So, if you want to learn and maintain all the topics, it will be pretty hard as he only presents slides during his lectures. He will go off-topic. He usually puts out weekly discussions and quizzes. The class has a couple of exams. It's doable just write those notes! Good Luck!

The exams are really easy. He allows open notes, so you don't have to perfectly remember everything. I suggest remembering about 70% of the content before taking the exams and then using the textbook to check for the remaining answers you don't know. Exams are 60% of your grade, but It's easy to get an 95+ on the exams without trying hard.

Easiest A ever. Mainly learned through assigned textbook reading (free online) and had weekly discussion post assignments (max ~2 assignments). Did feel like I was self-studying so if that's you like, then enjoy. The exam questions were also accurate to the textbook, so I'd stick with the textbook as the main source of studying.

Set my standards for the rest of my classes! Had his class at 9:30 am but his energy was enough to keep me awake during his lectures. He's very nice & he goes over the textbook during the lectures & he makes it easy to understand so I would say attendance matters. There are chapter quizzes but as long you read the textbook (free) you're good!

Super incredible prof! Really kind and a good teacher! He's very passionate abt psych so lectures go by fast! (does take attendance until last week) Offers super easy extra credit, exams aren't too bad and has like 6 hw assignments -- all of which are so so quick and easy to do. 3 exams including final. (everything is open note as well!)
