Man, I think this guy is so easy to look at... and it makes class a little nicer being able to watch him. But hey! On to teaching... he's a good man with a sincere interest and knowledge in his field. He can be challenging but it is worth it.
he's a good teacher and he's really hot, omg who said that?!?!
Great Professor. Does a great job of teaching and explaining the material.
oh so hot AND such a nice guy. he's always willing to help. try to work in his lab as an undergrad or grad student.
Very painful.......refuses to meet with you if you have classes during his regular office hours. Rude to some students in class. Intimidating. He hates pre-meds with a passion. Avoid!
Dr. Hens does an excellent job in relaying the material in Cell Bio. His tests are a little more difficult than the quizzes and problemsets he gives. I would recommend Dr. Hens as a professor to any student who truly wants to learn something. ALso, he goes a little fast, so be prepared.
Was definitely not excited about this class or the professor considering he can be kind of rude sometimes... but I don't think he means to. His tests are extremely easy if you study for them and he makes it easy to learn the material. Great professor overall!
After finishing the course I feel like he's a very good professor. However, there were the moments he was disrespectful and skipped office hours appointments. He also yelled at the whole class one time about studying..not really appropriate. But good overall.
He was great and he did explain things very well. He was extremely helpful to me when I asked questions. He made the class fun and interesting and yes, he really is hot.
i wasnt looking forward to this class, had to take it for physical therapy pre-reqs but Dr Hens made the class very enjoyable. had to study a lot and took a lot of work but i ended up really enjoying the class. quizzes are multiple choice but exams are all in shorts answer format. great professor if you really want to learn the material.
He's made a completely useless course tolerable and somewhat informative.
I had him for 111 LAB and he's very clear and helpful. Very nice guy. If he's teaching a lab, take his!
GREAT class! GREAT teacher! Makes EVERYTHING understandable and he is easy to talk to if you need help.
Made it better than I ever would have thought possible.
Professor is very knowledgeable and helpful in class. He goes out of his way to organize activities both online and in class that really help a lot in studying and learning the material. Be careful though, even though he's an awesome professor the class is still pretty hard. I'd definitely recommend him!
Great teacher, a lot of quizzes
Great professor!
Amazing professor. Very helpful and makes sure that you understand the material. Also gives a lot of quizzes so that your grade isn't based completely on the few exams you have. Easier exams than you would expect. SEXY as can be.
tests were exactly from what he said and not hard. lecture was easy to follow
Great professor; very insightful on the topics discussed in class and makes a point to clarify everything that is on test. Test are just like study guides. I'd suggest taking him as long as you read over and know the information for the test. A+++ teacher!
Very interesting teacher and very helpful as well. One of the greatest teachers in the world possibly definitely recommended.
He is easier to learn from than Bundy. I dropped Bundy and took Hens. I understand him better, but I'm not a Bio person at all. He makes pretty good analogies and tries very hard to help his students. He gives curves because Bio pass rates tend to be low. Do the Bioportal assignments; they help. Do iClicker stuff in class as well; he'll give points
Dr. Hens is great! I was afraid of my transition from small classes to this big state university class, but Hens pretty much tells you everything you need to know. Just make sure you pay attention, read enough of the book, and you're good.
Good teacher, more than happy to help you out, but his tests are kind of tricky.
GREAT
Makes biology interesting (well, as interesting as possible). Lots of reading, but he's very clear about what you need to know. Great professor! I'd definitely try to take another class with him.
Amazing teacher! Always willing to help. Tests are hard and you have to read to make a good grade.
Great professor! At first I was a little intimidated by Cell Bio, but he makes the class easy to understand. His exams are fair and not too hard, as long as you come to class, pay attention, and do a little studying at home. He is a very busy man, so ask all the questions you can while you're in the class. Overall, one of the best bio professors!
I had Dr. Hens for cell bio spring 2011. He asked iclicker question almost every class so attendance is important. This class definitely requires studying, and reading of the textbook. Most of the material from class was centered around the text. I love his teaching style and once or twice every class he would let the class discuss the topic at han
I will always remember how great he (and Dr. Adamson were). I wish them bost the best careers. They are truly nice people. Talk to them if you have problems. They taught me a lot and I'm using it everyday!
Dr. Hens was an extremely helpful professor. He was willing to help with any issues you had and answers all questions. He is truly one of the best professors that I've ever had. I actually felt like I learned something from his class.
Dr. Hens is an outstanding teacher. He's kind, considerate, and he sincerely wants you to succeed. He has a great ability to make difficult topics clear and easy to remember. I've never had a teacher quite like him. My favorite teacher at UNCG by far.
Excellent, enthusiastic professor. Wants students to succeed. Doesn't sweat the small stuff but wants students to get the big picture and be able to make intellectual leaps and deductions on tests and quizzes. That is the challenge in his class. Regular onine hw assignments and in-class quizzes. Tests are multiple-choice.
Dr. Hens is mainly focused on teaching biology majors. If you are a biology major, he will be extremely helpful. But if you're only taking BIO 111 for general ed classes, I wouldn't recommed taking his class.
THIS CLASS REQUIRES A LOT OF WORK!!!! With that said it isn't that hard to make good grades if you put in the work. If you're gonna take bio 111 this is the professor you want! He gives a lot of homework and asks clicker questions. Finished class with a B...
Dr. Hens is a fantastic professor. He knows what he is talking about and explains it in a clear manner. Go to class and you will do fine! He is very enthusiastic about teaching and willing to help during his office hours. I hated biology before taking this class and ended up with an A. I definitely recommend Dr. Hens!!
This class involved a lot of work into it. You had to study in order to pass his exams. He was known for his tricky questions on the exams which messed me up a lot. But I managed to make an A in the course because lab was SUPER easy. Just be prepared to study A LOT! For the final just go over old exams thoroughly, I did and i just missed one ?
Dr. Hens is great! He is organized with his lectures and keeps a consistent schedule with his homework. How do you pass his class? DO THE COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES! Also go see him during his office hours so he knows your face. He will be more likely to bump your grade up if you're close to an A or B. I really enjoyed this class.
Overall, his notes were not organized. You start talking about one thing then jump to another... then you come back to the first thing again much later... Tests are difficult, he often puts either two "right" answers (you have to choose the most correct of the two) or partially right answers that are almost identical to the correct one.
Dr. Hens is a great prof. Truly Cares about students. Lectures very interesting and engaging. One of the best at UNCG.
Pick this professor. I hate biology and was one of the few to actually pull an A in the class. Take notes each day in class and answer the CLOs he provides on blackboard. BioPortal homework is simple if you read the chapters. Study at least two weeks for his tests and quizzes because questions are worded tricky. Best Biology professor at UNCG!
Exams aren't that hard you just need to do your CLOs and you will do fine. Online assignments are not worth much but they do add up so DO THEM. He's a great teacher, very clear, and he does email if things change. I liked the class
His notes were not that organized and you strickly have to rely on the CLO's to do well on the exams, the final wasn't that bad. I recommend you going to his class because he does iClicker points. Homework isn't that bad. But remember STUDY YOUR CLO'S OVER EVERYTHING.
He is great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
His lectures are so helpful (recommend you to go to his class). You would most likely use the textbook for LaunchPad&CLOs, but other than that you don't really have to like read the textbook. He is very understandable professor, so you should not be afraid to talk to him if you have any problem. His tests are tricky but the material is not hard.
I am not a bio major but I got put in the class and decided to stick it out. Worst decision ever. I received tutoring 3 times a week and this sill didn't help me. I am solely relying on my lab grade to help me pass this class. Although his lectures are interesting, tests are EXTREMELY challenging. Don't take unless you're extremely passionate.
I took his class only because it was the last one available after switching my major last minute before the start of my freshman year. Got there the first day scared to death but he was a Great teacher and always there to help. Tests are tricky but just make you think! No extra strings. Would DEFINITELY take again without hesitating. Great lectures
Overall Hens is an outstanding individual, teaching perhaps not his most outstanding talent but he does a great job. His test are difficult - lecture, quiz, and clos will help you pass (as well as prior test)
good professor and easy to understand(most of the time). cares about his students passing. study the CLOs for the tests.
Master the CLOs, easy A.
Wow. Truly an amazing man he changed my life through his lecture and personable attitude. Mark Hens for president.
This professor cancelled class multiple times during this semester (almost 25% of all the classes for this semester), failed to report testquiz grades on Canvas until the very last moment (1hr before the drop deadline), and failed to respond to emails in a timely manner. I would not recommend taking this professor for BIO 350!
Cell Bio is a very hard class, no matter who teaches it. The person below me complained abt class canceledgrades not posted fast. HOWEVER, he realized his error & drops the 2 lowest quiz grades AND gave full credit for hw if u did only 80% of it. Dr. Hens is a GREAT professor, very fair, but be prepared to work. I made an A. HE LOVES CLICKER ?S!
Very challenging course. Requires a lot of study time. Go to class and take good notes. Sort of have to teach yourself.
Great professor, very approachable. The material is difficult and tests can be tricky - you really do have to study hard. Didn't pick up textbook once. Homework MATTERS. Lab is 25% of grade so be sure to do well there too for an A. Quizzes are equally as challenging as the tests. Not impossible. Clicker is 10% of grade so never forget it. Great guy
I had Dr. Hens for cell lecture and lab. He's honestly an amazing person all around. I worked with him on an independent project and he is so understanding and helpful in any aspect, also sharp as a tac. Wish he still did research so I could work in his laboratory. Work through the material in-depth, ask questions, and you'll do well.
Hens is all over the place when he teaches. Powerpoint slides contain mostly pictures from the textbook and little text. You only have 3 tests, no final. If you bomb one exam, you have to do well on the others to balance your grade. Expect a lot of iClicker. There are groupindividual quizzes. He tricks you on purpose on the tests. Don't take him.
He is such a great professor!!! Very personable and a good lecturer. Follow his CLO's and you will be fine. He does a lot of clicker points so attendance is necessary to get an A. He is very straight foreword on what you need to know for the tests. He has a specific SIP leader that he uses. She is very helpful.
You should show up to every lecture because he hints whats important for the tests. Class is very hard because the test questions don't relate to the way you learn the information during class. He tests you on a different way of thinking? kind of a surprise during testing since you're use to thinking the stuff a certain way...
Biology typically is difficult for most people but I think he is one of the most straightforward professors. If you keep up with his homework and lectures (just pay attention) you should pass. Go to lectures, he mentions what's going to be on the tests a lot.
The course was easy to manage through however Dr. Hens will not answer emails no matter what! Its like he opens his email account then closes his computer without responding to anyone. Im pretty sure he's aware of his problem and does not care. If you decide to email him you better make the email subject very juicy or he ain't replying.
How to pass the class! Going to class would help Go to SIP Do the Course Learning Objectives! DO NOT WAIT TIL THE END BECAUSE THERE'S A LOT! He'll post the powerpoint so use it to help you answer the CLO's... you can maybe use the book.... I never did Do the launchpad assignments Study past tests&quizzes!! Questions will show up again!
Great professor! He's funny and really cares about his students. He is very interactive and you know what to expect. I highly recommend him.
Dr. Hens really makes an effort to make sure his students understand the material. If you show up to class, take good notes for studying, and pay attention to clicker questions you won't have any trouble on his exams.
He gives out all the CLOs and tells you exactly what to expect on the tests. Really happy with him and his teaching method. I would recommend him if you like learning by powerpoints and are ready to do a lot of reading.
Great Teacher, ask questions he's always there to help!
He is a very smart person who cares about his students, he gives out Clo's and post PowerPoint online. Take advantage of the SIP sessions.
Easy A if you just apply yourself and study for his test and quizzes. Which he basically gives to you through the CLO's. Clicker questions are used as attendance so just dont miss class at all. I Would miss a few here or there but didn't realize how much it added up b/c I thought I attended the majority of the class but got a 46 for myclicker grade
Attendance is not mandatory, but I would make sure you go if you want to pass this class. He talks a lot during his lectures and most of what he mentions is not on the slides but is on the exams. He's awful with putting grades in so don't count on knowing your final grade until the end of the semester, but other than that he's a great Proff.
I had Dr. Hens for Bio 111 and Bio 112 and I would say he's probably the best biology teacher at UNCG. If you go to see him in his office hours with questions he is very helpful and teaches you how to work through questions. His tests aren't the easiest but they're definitely not the hardest either. Make sure to go to class.
He's amazing. Just come to class and take good notes. If he saw that we were confused (by seeing that the majority of people got the iclicker question wrong), he'd have no problem explaining it over and over until we understood. It's so easy to get an A in the class if you do what you have to do and spend time studying.
Dr. Hens is 1 of the best professors I've had at uncg. He actually teaches to aid understanding instead of just lecturing. He cares about students- just go talk to him. The class moved quickly and there was a lot of material to cover, but I did well b/c I put the time in studying. I highly respect and appreciate his solid, effective teaching styles
He's very straight to the point.
He's awesome, provide good feedback, and cares about his students!
He really cares for his students and wants to see them do well. There is a lot of material to learn in a short amount of time, but he is good at explaining things. For quizzes, he first assigns an individual, then a group quiz right after. Tests aren't easy, but they aren't hard either- there are many practical application questions.
He really cares about his students and is actually great to talk to outside of class issues. He is also very good about explaining things. When he says do the CLO's, he means DO THEM! His tests are a breeze after that. Put in effort, skim over the reading, and study a bit for quizzes and tests and you will do great!
This guys so smart that his body is just a transportation device for his brain. W that said, hes a solid prof, and Ill take him again if I get a chance. Very approachable and does the best he can w the crazy amt of mat. he has to cover. GO TO CLASS & DO THE CLOs! Tests have tricky Qs, so read them carefully, but they're not bad if you attend lec.
He is great! You definitely have to be at class, and definitely make sure to pay attention, but if you do those things, you will almost definitely do well! I barely opened the book, and when I did, it was just to check a concept or two. Make sure to take detailed notes in class and participate in the i-clicker questions, but he is a very good prof!
Dr. Hens is a nice person, but his teaching style is all over the place and inconsistent. His exams are very hard because there are sometimes multiple right answers. He takes very few grades so if you have one bad exam grade you will have a hard time pulling up your grade. DO YOUR CLO's! He bases the entire lecture and exam off of these.
Dr. Hens is very approachable and always willing to answer questions. However, I thought he was more chemistry focused than most intro bio classes. He goes over concepts really fast, but to be fair, it was a summer class. His test questions are fair and he doesn't try to be tricky. You have to put in the work but he also makes it easy to do well.
He is the best person to take bio with; he's really helpful. He speaks really fast so that I would suggest recording the class, I took bio two times before passing the class, I hate science, but he made it easy to understand. I took the class with two other professors before him, and he's the best in my opinion. Do all of the CLO's they will help!
Very good professor but is a difficult class for a science class
Knows what hes teaching
Don't get me wrong, Dr. Hens knows his material, but his tests are practically impossible to pass. I spent countless nights studying for his tests and I still receive D's. I go to SIP and look over the CLO's he's posted and to no prevail, I still manage to fail his tests. If you think you did well, kill that thought.
He sometimes goes in depth about topics you don't need to know much about, but it's only because he's passionate about what he teaches. His lectures are actually enjoyable and he gives extra points on tests sometimes. If you take his class, my advice would be to use the textbook to answer CLOs, attend SIP, and study and you'll do fine.
Would not take any of his labs again. He does not give you feedback on any of the lab question until the end of the semester when grades are do, so if you have incorrect lab questions you are unknowingly putting them into your end of the semester lab report. Also does not respond to any of your emails, but over nice guy in person.
It was a good intro. BIO class. The class was enjoyable and the lectures were always great. Dr. Hens knows what he's teaching, and he always looks for the best examples so students can remember the material. Go to SIP and print/answer the CLO's he posts. I would highly recommend taking his class.
By far the best BIO 111 professor to take. Gives you CLOs which are almost copy and paste test questions. Gives you everything you need to pass, you just have to work for it.
Professor Hens really cares about you and your grade but will make you work for it. His lectures are interesting and Iclickers are used on occasion so go to the class. Textbook helps a lot when you're confused but so does his office hours. He's very nice and will answer any questions you have.
Hens is a good professor and gives good lectures, but not only are the tests challenging, he is NEVER at his office hours. So if you have to take his class, be prepared to do tutoring and SI because he won't help unless you ask in class.
Dr. Hens is an amazing biology professor. He is very knowledgeable in his field and is willing to take the time to help those who have trouble understanding. The way he presents himself and the lectures makes it very engaging and easy to understand. My advice would be to study, communicate, and attend class. Even all my friends love him!
I was not a fan of biology until I took Dr. Hens' class! Lectures were interesting and fast paced, most importantly, EXTREMELY important for tests. However, the most important are the CLOs, they have everything you need to know. There's a lot of memorization. Dr. Hens is helpful and genuinely cares about his students and makes that very evident!
Awesome professor!! As long as you try in his class, you will do well. I personally never used the textbook. He really cares for his students, you just have to put in the effort.
Great teacher, made the class and the material as easy as he could.
Dr. Hens is a very caring professor but he is not the most organized. You'll have to study based on the powerpoints and maybe read more detail in the book. Tests are like 66% and you have 3 of them + a final. Before every test there is a quiz. I recommend group studying!
Dr. Hens is a terrible professor. He is rude, inconsiderate, and at times, dull. His errors cost me 20 points on a quiz that he refused to correct. He does not get back in a timely manner (at times 2 weeks to respond), and he has been very rude to multiple classmates.
I took Dr. Hens in his BIO111 class last semester. While he does know what he is talking about, he does come across as a bit callous when speaking to students. Lectures were a little boring but he does give you all the material you need to succeed. Quizzes and tests were extremely difficult - even though I studied it felt like it wasn't enough.
Dr. Hens is super nice and willing to help you. The class Bio 111 is a bit hard so you have to work for it. I found it easy to get access to tutors on campus who will help you.
Cell biology is one of the hardest courses Ive had to take. A LOT of information is given in a small amount of time and almost immediately after completing, you have a quiz and exam. Time management is important and studying as you learn is best. Dr. Hens does listen to concerns and wants you to do well, despite the tests being very difficult.
Dr Hen is a great professor who know the material very well. I don't recommmend taking his class and another 3 credit hour class in the summer. His quizzes and tests are moderately difficult and closed book, so make sure to study and review the material beforehand. Especially the tests since they are worth 66% of your final grade.
Professor Hens is great, make sure you go to class (even though it is not required) but it will help you out. As long as you look over the CLOs that he gives you, you'll get a guaranteed A on the tests. Just pay attention and if you miss class, go over PowerPoints. Homework is easy and you get two attempts at each assignment so you can pass 100%.
I struggled a bit in this class, but it wasn't too bad. Prepare to do some studying if you want an A. I didn't study, and think I'll finish with a B. The quizzes are a little harder than the exams, but neither are terrible. He has group quizzes so you can bring up your grade. I'm taking another one of his classes next semester. He's a great prof!
He made a lot of mistakes and that cost a harm to my grade (like 6 points). He is also very scary in office hour. Assigned so many pages to read. Take a long time to reply to your email (or never replies). BUT he gave so many opportunities to bring a grade up and very funny. He speaks too fast so I suggest record him. Decent prof and I had fun.
He was a great professor i had him for Bio 111 and Bio 112 and I think everyone should take his classes, you'd be thankful, he's an amazing professor that actually wants to help you pass the class.
Dr. Hens is a great professor, his lectures are very concise and easy to understand. He lets you know what he expects from you and is constantly reminding us of due dates. Overall he wants to see you do good in the class and is very understanding when it comes to rescheduling quizzes.
He's got an funny awkward personality but always knows what he's talking about. It's all a big information dump but the passion he has about the subject is refreshing and makes all the information you learn purposeful. I gonna take as many bio classes with Hens as possible. Great experience.
His lectures were very easy to understand and he always told you what he expected on tests. Had a good bit of hw but gave you 2 chances for a good grade. Tests were long but easy to understand if you attended lectures. He teaches in a way that reading the text book fully is not needed at times, but I do recommend reading the text before class.
Dr. Hens is the best bio professor I've ever had. He is a great lecturer and class with him is always fun. He is hilarious, incredibly fair, and truly cares about his students. He is incredibly passionate and engaging. He will do anything to help you and never shame you for not understanding right away. Dr. Hens is amazing
i really want to like this guy, i really do. on a personal level he cares about his students and is very nice and funny, but his teaching style is all over the place. he's a great guy, but his lectures do little to nothing to actually help teach what is on the quizzes (which of there are many). i recommend tutoring if you take his class
He is a great guy but his teaching is all over the place. The class test average for most of the semester was failing grades. He will post learning objectives for the current test the day BEFORE the exam which are in no way easy and often not reviewed in class. Lots of leg work for studying. Read the book. Quizzes are heavily weighted and HARD.
Dr. Hens is a pretty good professor. Had him for BIO112 & BIO375 and both classes were structured similarly. DO THE CLO'S! Those will help you ace the exams. A lot of questions on exams come from the homework and quizzes, so study those as well as the CLO's and you'll be fine. THE FINAL IS CUMULATIVE for both BIO112 and BIO355
This was my second time taking Professor Hens, he is honestly a great professor! I just suggest being ready to study, he sets the class up to help you pass, so if you don't take advantage of his resources then you won't do as well as you want!
Hens is an amazing professor and was always willing to explain stuff during office hours. The tests are heavy in the sense that they account for the majority of your grade. Use. The. Powerpoints. Answer the CLOs and get a good understanding of the Clicker Questions. Get tutoring or go to office hours if you're confused. GO TO CLASS!!!
The best teacher I have had at UNCG so far. Mark Hens is super caring and he makes his lectures funny and understandable. I thought BIO111 was going to be awful but he made it not that bad. I recommend taking him for BIO111. Also even though attendance is optional, you pretty much have to go since the stuff in his lectures are on the tests.
He is one of the best teachers by far, his lectures are amazing, he is easily accessible outside of class, and he is very accommodating. It's sad that he only teaches the lower bio classes, I would gladly have him teach all of my biology courses.
I have mixed feelings on Dr Hens. While he explains things well, he has denied me testing accommodations in front of the entire class and tried to tell me that I needed to ask for them beforehand. His exams can contain questions that were not covered in class or on the study guide. He assigns 5-10 assignments and gives us 2 days to do them.
Professor Hens is a challening but invested professor. He walks you through to make sure you understand everything, however, he is very test heavy
Dr Hens is an overall great professor, and I learned ALOT from him, however I felt as though he taught most things thinking that the students already knew MUCH about bio which didn't really help everyone as much in the beginning but as he began to understand the class and the people in them he was able to adapt to our learning style.
I believe that if you receive subjects easily, this prof. is probably fine to take. However, given that most of your grade comes from the few tests given, you better do a good job every time. There is a lot of material to cover, and I'm not sure I'd take him again. Not a bad teacher, just packs as much material as he can each class; feels rushed.
Chill guy, understanding, enjoys his work
Tests are a large part of your grade--Study the Course Learning Objectives and make sure to not just memorize but also learn them. Many students complain that he teaches "like ur supposed to know the material already" but the material is taught to you in the Achieve + Book readings that he assigns as Homework. He knew his stuff + enjoyed teaching.
Professor Hens is a caring and funny lecturer. While his classes aren't the easiest, using unstuck study alongside the provided PowerPoints can really help with study prep and understanding the material.
This is one of the worst professors I have ever had in my life. I am an honor roll student who is probably going to end up failing this course because he doesn't know how to teach and gives absolutely impossible exams that don't cover half of the content that you were told to study. if you can avoid taking a class with him do it.
Not sure why tests are worth 61% of the class but it puts a dent in your grade I'll say that lol. Lecture style is spotty so you have to be a good conceptual learner bc PowerPoints sometimes aren't the best thing to study. CLO'S are helpful sometimes but not always. Definitely not the easiest class.
I used to adore Dr. Hens. Cell Biology is known to be hard, but Dr. Hens makes it harder than it should be by cancelling lectures and making exams weigh so heavily on the final grade (66%.) Definitely not friendly for people that have test anxiety. Final average in my section is a D+.
If your're considering taking this guy please let this be your last option. He lacks empathy, and isn't as resourceful. Tests are 61% OF YOUR GRADE so if you test bad one you'll literally be at a low grade. Powerpoints given has NOTHING to do with your tests. Powerpoints sloppy and confusing
I took honors BIO112 as a non-biology student and Professor Hens was a great teacher and made everything digestible and easy to understand. Sometimes his answers to questions would be vague but he wanted to prove critical thinking. Please listen to his study tips because they definitely work for his class!
I've had Dr.Hens for 3 courses now. He's very consistent in his teaching style and is always there for you. Ce Biology is a hefty course, but it's not impossible. Just be sure to study regularly and you'll be fine. He does occasional quizzes, but they're averaged with a "group" quiz. Loved this class with him.
BEST PROFESSOR UNCG BIO COMPARED TO ALL PROFESSOR EVEN THO THE COURSE WAS HONORS
Professor Hens is one the coolest guys ever.Go to office hours and you will pass the class.I promise you. Me and my friend failed the 1st couple of test and decided to just go and see what happens and he got an A in the class and i got a b ( I didn't do the homework's).You have to study for this class because it is very content heavy though….
