Way too easy, you should be proud. He is way too easy explain everything thoroughly; I used to hated grammar and rules but after taking his class I feel like I want to take him for 101. Unfortunately, he only teaches on the morning not from 4 to 5:45.Nice professor, 10/10 .

He is funny, extremely helpful, and easy during the summer. Mark lets you call him by his first name, he lets you leave class if you have to..he is just cool! He is like a 25 yr old friend also. Easy A, but please do try because it is one of those classes that you know is easy and you don't really try and at the end you end up getting a B+.TAKE HIM

3 years here at SAC, he has been the best teacher ever!Highly recommended.During the summer, his class is 4 hours long and it doesn't even feel like it because he knows how to teach and makes it intresting. It doesn't even feel like a class. It feels more of like a group hangout for english! COOL, got an A too. LOVE HIM!

Mr. Higgins is one of the most influential person I've come to meet. He has a big heart, he's passionate about his work and his students. Not only is he understanding, he makes learning and essay writing fun! If you work hard, try, and don't give up you'll end up an A or B plus student! Mr. Higgins is awesome!

IF YOU NEVER TAKEN HIGGINS, YOU SHOULD DROP OUT OF SAC. He is an amazing professor. He will make you write, and you will look forward to writing your essay. Why would you be looking forward to it? Simply because he has an interesting way to make you enjoy writing. I think one of the best choice I made was to wait a semester and take him for 101.

He is the BEST Proffessor ive ever had! ok top 2. He is very passionate about his work and really cares about his students. He is very funny and you will never be bored in his class. He does however assign more essays (10) than other professors but they are all very fun to do. He made me learn to love writing. you should most definitly take him!

I took his 4wk summer class. I had originally registered with Carroll but the class was cancelled and forced to take Higgins. BEST THING THAT EVER HAPPENED TO ME. He is the best English teacher I've ever had in my life! Probably best teacher I've ever had, period. Participate and go to class, you'll be one of his favorites. Easy class!

His lessons were exciting and was the first class i was actually excited to go too! as long as you do all the assighnments, in which he is always available to help you with, you should have an A no problem. higgins is awesome. english 101 was a fun experience. all the essays were graded in class. this is like a mixture of english 103 as well because the assignments were critical thinking. the final is easy and the group project was fun. no matter who you are you will have a great time in this class. i highly recommend him. :)

Made a horrible and boring subject interesting and fun. Class was always fun. Very helpful too. Cannot imagine an eng 101 class being any easier. no textbook required, just a 12 dollar novel.

He is awesome. He makes you love writing, and your writing will be improved by the end of this class. Great topics. You don't need to by a bunch of textbooks for this class. only a $10-12 novel for the whole semester. Highly recommend ^^

Mr. Higgins is the type of teacher every student wants; he teaches at a crystal clear pace. His assignments are easy if you pay attention in class, which will be impossible to even ignore. I took both English 61 &101 in Fall semester and enjoyed every second of it. And he ask for books which are very cheap. I HIGHLY recommend you take him. :)

He is big on grammar. Also, he also tries to train you to identify symbolic stuffs from a reading. Overall, he is very passionate in teaching. He keeps the class interesting and fun. He could come up with anything to ask you to write an essay about but every subject was interesting. Plus, you will have to do a group project presentation, too!

Higgins is by far the best teacher I've ever had. He is big on grammar, yet he goes deeper then just talking about grammar etc. He talks about the meaning of life and challenges you to do that! He is amazing. I recommend him, but you do need to try.

Very good teacher! really big on grammar and punctuation! final is worth 30% of your grade his final is 300 points and you can only make 10 mistakes... he's very easy to understand you have a paper due every week! good teacher you can learn a lot he's funny and interesting! just do all your work pass the midterm and good luck on final!

Professor Higgins is an amazing Professor who truly cares about his students! The book which he wrote, is needed to pass the course as class work is assigned from that. Prepare to engage in debates, love group work, and truly understand English. Although tough on grammar, it's only for your own good. I would highly recommend his 8 week course!

It was great taking 101 with Professor Higgins! That man is so funny and is truly caring of his students. He pushed us to debate our hearts out and to like working with others. When looking at the syllabus you may be intimidated, but Higgins makes each week incredibly fun. Homework is the usual and I spent only $10 on the books. Take this class!

Great teacher! He is probably the best teacher at Santa Ana College. Any time you are unclear of something, he is more than happy to help you. Also, he is very hilarious and makes you use your critical thinking, especially on debates. I really recommend Professor Higgins!!!

This is probably on of the easiest/realist professors out there but also making a huge impact in the english department. Taking him for N061 & ENG 101 made me realize so much and improved my writing to much. If it was possible I would take him for all my english classes if he only taught ENG 103.

Professor Higgins somehow managed to make English NOT totally painful and awful for me. His class was about as fun as an English class could possibly get, and involved aspects of debate and public speaking. He is a nice and approachable professor, and rather funny. Without a doubt, I would recommend him anyone.

Higgins' english class is one of those LIFE CHANGING courses you take and will never forget. He creates a classroom environment that is extremely comfortable and welcoming. However, that doesn't mean he doesn't push the envelope on the subjects discussed in class. He wants students to open their minds and participate in group discussions. TAKE HIM!

Professor Higgins is honestly the G.O.A.T. His class is easy. I took the 8 week course and it's honestly better than the 16 week. Yeah it's a lot shorter and there's an essay due almost every other week but he gives you time in class to start then and he's available in class to see your progress. There's only 1 group project. Just do your work!

Best teacher hands down. I took him for 061 and 101 classes aren't easy but he makes them seem easy. He helped me improve a lot and helped me be more confident as a writer.

I was on a wait list for a different professor and he told me to message all the professor with open classes. Higgins was the only professor to get back to me the same day that I emailed him. I absolutely love his style of teaching. I passed both 061 and 101 with him. I seriously feel like I can write a whole book after taking his class.

I'm glad that I took this 8-week class. I'm an international student. I always hate reading my own essay. However, during the time taking this class, I could see how my writing had been improving. Higgins doesn't want you to write a boring essay but makes it interesting. His classes would never make you bored.

Mr. Higgins is what I call a truly passionate to educate students, I am an ESL student and to me, English class was soo difficult, but professor Higgins does not only help with the grammar ( I totally recommend take ESL classes first to improve) Higgins guide students to be critical thinkers and understand the American literature.

Super easy. Took an 8 week class and finished with a B. As long as you do the work, you will pass. Graded on few things.. very easy going person.

Higgins is honestly one of the very few professors that actually care about you passing. He is super involved and just tries to make everyone engage. The only downside I can think of is that he is really tough when grading your papers. He is really picky on grammar and sentence structures, which can really hurt your grade.

He lets you know the first day what is coming up and what is expected. It seems scary at first, but he is very helpful and makes the class seem less difficult. Yes attendance is mandatory and also participation. Just turn everything in and try your best, you will for sure pass. He is so funny and makes class interesting. Best professor to take!
