He is a cool professor!
ONe of my favs last semester. GO TO CLASS!!! A lot of extra credit is given. Study what he says and you'll make an A. And do the practice exams.....50% of the questions on it appear on the teat.
Good teacher. Lot of examples and group activities in lecture. Lot of extra credit too.
Excellent teacher...great guy. Do what he says. He definitely tries to make it easy for you but through the process, you really get the hang of it!
Very dedicated professor.
He's very boring and annoying.
Easy to the point of it being boring. Just go to class; you'll get your A.
Dont cheat in the lab!! you WILL get caught cause it happens every semester.. you know who you are aepi kids
Boring, very boring. He also rambles on about a lot of useless crap. Don't cheat it is worth it, you will get a point added to your grade if no one in the class gets caught cheating.
Huber was a crazy fun professor. He was funny and had good in-class labs. He made us do a lot of team stuff so class was interesting, and as long as you DON'T MISS CLASS (lab=quiz grade almost every day) you will do fine. The breakout labs were easy and the TAs are really slack on grading.
Devoted in-class activities to TeamBuilding exercises, completely irrelevant. The least experienced of all of the MIST teachers. I attended Piercy's reviews whenever possible. Bad attitude - tried to 'control' the class by waking up sleeping students - should consider presenting the material better. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
The class was not difficult. Go to class and you will at least get a B. We had to do a lot of useless in class activities though. He holds 2 1hour and 15 minute lecture as well as a 50 minute lab per week, but you only get 3 hours of credit. Takes up a lot of your time and does not seem to care. I do love his sweater sets though!
DON't CHEAT. They know how to catch you on the Access project you have to do for the lab and they have some weird computer nerd way of catcing you. If you do cheat you'll ruin it for everyone else in the class because if no one cheats then everyone gets an extra point at the end of the semester
He tries really hard, but it's still a pretty boring class. Bust your butt studying for the tests because the two are worth 60% of your grade. Rumor has it there's some helpful stuff out there for the final, though...
I found the class easy but I know some people who struggled with the tests. I went to class on a regular basis and I think that helped me with questions on the test which can only be answered if you have come to class and that can be the difference between an A and B. Everything else you do in there for a grade should be an easy 95 or 100.
Overall, this was a pretty good class. It can be boring at time, but it is not Huber's fault. The hardest part about this class is he covers so many little things it is hard to decide what is really important for the two test. The lab is easy if you get a good TA. If you know anything about computers you will do fine. Go to class & dont cheat.
Not a bad class. He has a good sense of humor and is very intelligent, which helps everyone stay awake. Oh, that and the "If your neighbor is asleep, please tap them." Lab was very straight-forward also. The easiest way to an A is just to go to class and pay attention. You shouldn't have any trouble.
You will easily get an A but easily be more bored than you ever have been. Huber's class is really really boring most of the time. The tests are easy, but you have to go to class almost everyday because he always gives quizzes. He seems really uptight most of the time but will occasionally joke around.
Incredibly easy, but man is it boring. He's a great guy though and wants the class to have fun and do well.
The class was pretty easy. Just go to class and take notes. There were a couple of activities that were fun that were supposed to help/teach you about working in teams. My lab was a joke, I knew more about most of the things than the TA did. But it still wasn't hard.
He is a good guy who really really cares about his students. Lots of opportunities for extra credit. I would take him over the other teachers. The class, however, is so so boring, but so are all the classes. No need to read the book
Pretty easy yet boring class. Lab is easy until you get to Access. Not that bad.
Huber tried to make this class as interesting as possible, but the class itself is not too entertaining. He incorporates activities into lectures and has guest speakers, which was nice. Other than this, the class seems like a waste of time. For the midterm and final, he posts good study guides. Also, he takes attendance quizzes every class.
Huber is nice and has a good sense of humor. However, don't be fooled by his "attendance isn't mandatory" rule because he gives a TON of pop quizzes. The team cases were a hassle, but I think they might be doing away with them. You have to work with programs like Excel and Access, so if you're not a computer person, don't take this class.
Its not so much that hes a bad teacher (although hes not great by any stretch), but the class is just horribly designed. Apparently hes the best teacher for the class.
This class sucked. It is very easy but he makes you work in teams A LOT. If you get a bad team you are going to be screwed into doing all the work yourself. Huber is a nice guy but the way the class is set up is awful. It is good to buy the because the test questions are pulled straight from the end of each chapter.
Professor Huber is a great teacher who tries to make an easy class challenging. This challenge comes in the form of pop quizzes (to make you come to class) and team case exercises that take up a lot of time. Tests are not too bad, but the overall class is very time consuming. I would recommend Huber, I just didn't like the class structure.
Nice guy! Very interesting to talk to! However, the class itself is bogus. I felt like I was wasting my time every day that I went. However, if you have to take this class take his because he is the best professor for it. Beware of the group projects though....they are a pain. But he gives like all 100s in the end on them!
Awesome Teacher!!! Highly recommended!!!!
Do NOT take this class unless it's required. This is the most terrible class I've ever taken. There's no way to do well on the tests, anything he says or gives you is useless. It's boring and stupid and he tries to make it seem interesting and useful. awful.
Took Project Management with Huber. Overall EASY. the project and group works are helpful and fun. Exams are made by students.
It's a pretty dry class, but Dr. Huber does a good job of keeping everyone included. Tests are fairly easy, as long as you show up and study. Recommended.
Huber is great at teaching Project Management. He is fair and does a great job of explaining things. I would certainly recommend Huber to any of my friends (especially if given the choice between him or Howells).
Class is SO boring. And no laptops. He walks around asking questions about dumb things and fully expects an answer. Really pointless class. For tests, study ALL powerpoints online and read chapters assigned from book. Then its fine. For lab practical, access is harder than excel. DO THE PRACTICALS and go to lab half the time and you will be fine.
You'd think this class would be a breeze, but it's not. It's confusing because the material doesn't seem difficult but the exams are poorly worded and hard to predict. Concepts are too generalized and similar to distinguish and lab practicals are HARD. I'm saying this and I got a decent grade in the class! Would not choose to take again-EVER.
Huber is the worst teacher I have ever had at UGA. This class was absolutely pointless and ridiculous. We spend an entire class building leggo towers in order to demonstrate group effort. MiST is required for business majors, but try to take another professor. The final is the prior 3 tests combined into one large exam, so take it to boost your gra
Paid over 100 for the textbook. Never used it. Never really went to class, you can learn everything on your own. He takes attendance grades, but you can go to lectures outside of class to make them up. Class is boring. Don't recommended if the class isn't mandatory.
Dr. Huber is by far one of the best teachers I've had at UGA. Seriously, good man and a wonder professor. The 3 tests aren't that bad IF you READ THE BOOK! The final is optional. Best advise: attend class, print off notes before class, and read the book.
He teaches with philosophy, and understands that students don't learn from forcing them to memorize PowerPoint slides. I learned the most from his classes with the least amount of paperwork trail. He teaches with lessons and experience, and doesn't even give grades until the end of the semester. Have faith in your work and present well. No umms.
Great Teacher, wants to help!
Excellent teacher. Easy if you put a little work into class. Be sure to come to office hours if you have any questions. He's very helpful!
Dr. Huber makes a boring class interesting. He admits that the material seems pointless, but he teaches you how to use it in real life. Sometimes his lessons can be confusing, but he's willing to help. He's an easy grader and extremely cooperative and understanding. Just make sure you're in class on time and don't use your phone.
Dr. Huber only teaches the 1st part of the class. Lectures are pretty boring. He assigns weekly readings on which his weekly quizzes are based. You can get at least an 80 on these quizzes without reading and he drops the lowest one. There are weekly assignments which should all be 100s. There's a final and a group project. Very easy overall.
Huber is a cool dude. I learned a lot in his class. His only teaches the first half of the class. His part is the harder portion. Still made an A in that portion of the class. Just kinda skimmed over his weekly readings, and the quizzes were pretty easy. If you do well in this half of the class, you won't have any problem in the 2nd half.
If you aren't an MIS major at UGA then what are you doing with your life? Mark believes mist 2090 is the most important class you will ever take at UGA. The quizzes are easy if you study a little bit, but Mark takes this class far too serious. I would take a different professor if i could.
Dr. Huber is a nice guy. MIST 2090 material is kinda weird, but he makes it as relatable as possible. Only teaches the first half of the course (which is more difficult). Make sure you review the powerpoints, but the assigned readings really aren't all that mandatory.
Had him for the first half of 2090. The material was relevant and interesting and he was a good lecturer. Not hard at all, but I recommend actually reading the material he provides. It's really helpful for the quizzes even though a lot of people just studied off of the powerpoint.
Dr. Huber is super chill and knowledgeable; he has a really interesting background also. Group projects suck big time but are really easy. quizzes can be a little tricky but just read up and memorize the stuff the day before and you will be fine.
Dr. Huber was really chill and knew what he was talking about. You could get at least an 80 on quizzes without reading the articles the quizzes were over. The group project kind of sucked, but the final was easy. This part of MIST was an easy A+.
There is so much useless reading in this class, and the group project is just frustrating. Dr. Huber acts like he thinks the class is going to change your life, and it just doesn't. He seems like a really nice person, but the class is just boring. Despite that, I would like to say thank you to him for not forcing us to buy a textbook.
Huber's part of MIST 2090 was extremely boring and entirely irrelevant for anyone who isn't an MIS major. His half of the class is an easy A+. The group project sounds kind of scary but he told us the average grade on the project is a 98. My group got 100 and we through it together the night before the due date. Lots of quizzes too but theyre okay.
Dr. Huber is without a doubt my favorite professor! He makes his lectures enjoyable and I love his sense of humor. You can tell he genuinely cares for all of his students and wants you to succeed in his class. I highly recommend taking him!
Good guy. You learn a lot of life skills in his class. That being said, tests are somewhat irrelevant and they don't seem to add much to the class.
Huber is very unorganized and you never know what you're actually learning about. It's always interesting to decipher what his obscure lectures are about. His quizzes are very specific and poorly worded, but not hard.
He is very unorganized. I was very confused on what the test and quizzes would be over. Would not to take again or recommend t
Huber is a good guy who is passionate about what he teaches. However, his powerpoints are pretty vague, so you need to attend lecture to know what you're doing. I believe he changed the format of the quizzes this semester, and several of the questions are tricky even though he claims he's not trying to trick you - so read carefully!
Huber is a good guy. He has good intentions and is obviously very knowledgeable. There is a group project that he grades very fairly, but I had a problem with random groups as some members did not do much work. His powerpoints leave a lot to be desired, and quizzes are worded very poorly.
This is guy is everything that's wrong with MIS at UGA. Bull 24/7. He rubs on the successful people and leaves everyone else in the dirt, screwed up feedback loop that just wastes kids time
He's a great guy and a very helpful professor. He really wants you to understand the material for yourself, which is why he doesn't have all that much structure for the class or certain assignments -- he doesn't want to frame the material for you. I'm a structural person so that was difficult at times but he's more than willing to help you out.
Huber only teaches the first part of this class. It is a really easy A. The group project always sounds terrifying at first, but by the time the week to turn it in comes around, you would probably already have it done since you work through all the parts in class. The quizzes are a pain, but if you skim through the readings you should be fine.
Dr. Huber is honestly one of the best professors I have taken at the University, his class is very fun with pretty easy tests, and assignments. There will be two group projects however, you get the chance to work on them in class. Overall a great professor who knows his stuff.
Dr. Huber is a little snarky sometimes, but he makes the occasional few jokes in class. There is A LOT of reading, but you can probably get by with just scanning them. He posts his powerpoints online with a notes section which is really helpful. Attendance is checked through in-class activities (counted as a grade), but he tells you when they are.
This was a very unorganized class with lectures that made no sense for material we didnt talk about. The class was taught very poorly and would not recommend having him as a professor again.
The class itself can be very boring and seem useless. Dr. Huber is good teacher and prepares well for the quizzes. Part A of the class is harder than Part B. You need to read assigned readings to help with quizzes. In class participation is taken randomly for a grade. Not a super hard class, but it's really boring
Mainly lectures that are supplemented with PowerPoint notes/slides and articles you're supposed to read later. This is the basis for your quizzes/test. A few group projects that make for your participation. He's snarky and very sarcastic at times, but there was never malice behind it. Oh, and he called out some kids for phones, so keep it away!
Part A of the class was based heavily off of reading, not from a book though. Make sure you know the info before quizzes. Dr. Huber is a funny guy and his lectures were good and easy to follow. MAKE SURE YOU READ.
He has like 5 elc quizzes and 2 tests that come from the ppts and readings. Theyre pretty easy, you can make a B just from the PowerPoints
He is very unorganized, no structure in his class, to a point where nobody knows what's going on. You work on 1 project throughout the semester but have no idea what to do about it. His tests are meaningless. He loves "successful" students that get into Big 4 and stuff, but doesn't seem to care about the rest.
Bill Murray. That is all.
I never read the textbook and to this day don't even know what the cover looks like. 4 "Quests" and your project is all you're graded on. Pay attention in class and you'll do well enough on the quests. Then as long as you and your group have a solid project binder and presentation you can get an A.
If you don't like group projects or presenting don't take this class. But if you don't like group projects or presenting you should probably change your major from MIS anyway, or use this class as a chance to get better at both. I didn't like half of my group but they never knew - just be professional, do your part and present well.
Dr. Huber is a fantastic professor who cares and makes lectures relatable. The class can be ambiguous at times (especially the semester-long group project) but all of the grading is fair. You'll learn how to work as a team and gain presentation skills
The course felt disorganized because "your future boss won't tell you exactly what to do." Tests were SUPER easy if you paid attention in class, two group presentations teach you to presents well, and one major individual project to teach Excel. I didn't learn Excel as well as I hoped I would, and the non Honors class probably taught it better.
Overall an easy class. Two easy tests, two group presentations, and an Excel lab practical were the only grades. Dr. Huber was a really good professor, but the guidelines for the projects were not usually clear (to prepare us for the real world), and the class could be disorganized at points.
This class is a lot of work as you have to present every Thursday. It is a decent amount of time and stress, but it will be the most useful MIS class you take. I learned a lot about public speaking, group work, and consulting. We had two easy take home tests and a third one in class. My group was like a family, and Huber cares about his students
Huber is AMAZING! The class has 3 exams (super easy if you do the study guides) and a huge group project. Don't sleep on the group project, it takes a lot of time but was without a doubt the most useful project that I will take with me post-grad. You had to work with a real company to solve a business problem, so its great if youre doing consulting
Had 5 quizzes which are more like tests in a way. It's over the slides and heavily over the two books for the class. Semester long project with a practice presentation which helps you prepare for the actual presentation for the end of class. Overall, Huber is a great professor who will actually teach you the real world.
Dr. Huber is great - I had him for both Project Management & Info Sec Mgmt. His classes are probably the most useful in the MIS curriculum. He goes above and beyond for his students, and genuinely cares about them. He even helped me secure a job. Take Dr. Huber, you won't regret it. (MIST5770 is a ton of work but extremely beneficial to you)
Dr. Huber's project management is a super useful course. I learned a lot about how to behave in the work setting and what tips and tricks I can use to be a better presenter in the real world. He cares deeply about his students and their careers. It is a lot of work between presentations, tests, and readings - but I felt like I learned a ton.
Dr. Huber genuinely cares about his students outside of the classroom. He is a little intimidating at first, but he is nice. The tests can be a little tricky, but he grades presentations and projects very fairly. If you are willing to put in a little bit of effort, this class is very manageable.
Holier-than-thou attitude. Highly disorganized. Group project with very little instruction for most of semester. Takes attendance so better go to class. Wish I could have learned the principles of project management but all I learned was to expect a horrible grade.
I was shocked to see Dr. Huber's scored were so low. He's an amazing professor, and I highly recommend you take his 5770 class if: - You are going into consulting - You want to improve your public speaking/presentation skills - You want to network with huge companies and potentially land a job/internship **Class is a lot of work but 100% worth it.
The best. Project is like the project in the systems course later.
This class was the most time I have ever had to put into a class period. My group met 3 times a week for multiple hours each week to prepare and practice our presentation for the week. The tests are easy and the presentation grades are good so you will likely get a good grade but this course is a lot of work and can be daunting at times.
Dr. Huber is great! The class is mostly lectures about managing projects. He mentions a textbook but you can get by on just his PowerPoint lectures and study guides. There's a big group project you work on throughout the semester-- creating a project with a sponsor of your choice. Overall, easy class, super caring professor. Funny, too.
There is a semester long project but you get to pick it. His lectures can be boring sometimes but he tries to work in some humor. He genuinely cares about students and does one on one meetings with everyone where you can talk about anything. This class makes me love MIS!
Amazing professor! If you have a passion for project management, this is your Master!
Three tests..nothing too bad. He doesn't give clear directions for big semester group project and that is very frustrating. Don't worry about choosing a very complicated project, he just wants you to be able to show the different skills you're learning. I wish there was a better rubric for that project.
honestly, class is so boring the things you learn are just not exciting but Huber tries to make it more interesting and he cares about the class so he's a very good professor. Class has semester-long project which is long but easy to manage and the exams are not difficult he gives good study guides that highlights everything that will be on exam.
5740S was relatively straightforward, it's one big semester-long project with your group plus 3 exams. Huber grades fairly easily for the project. He's also just a good professor overall - keeps the class engaging.
I took him over the summer during study abroad. He was really fun and engaging. Attendance and participation is very important. Since it was study abroad, he graded on very few things but that couldn't be helped. He was also really big on group projects and presentations and is really good at helping you improve your presentation skills.
Dr. Huber's class offers real-world consulting experience through a semester-long group project. The lectures were boring, but the tests were just like the study guide. There wasn't any hw, so you have plenty of time to work on the project. If you miss more than 3 classes, he can withdraw you. If you do the work, you'll get an A or close to it.
Dr. Huber is one of the best professors I have had at UGA. He is very inspiring in all aspects. He is very wise and easy to talk to. I would take multiple classes with him if I could.
He is very kind and the class is easy HOWEVER groups are randomly assigned and the group project consists of majority of the class. There isn't much class time to do these group projects though. In class you learn a lot of good project management principals, and the tests are easy. The group project isn't graded hard.
Very kind and respectful if you are as well. He gave me extra time when I had a medical emergency. Truly a great and knowledgeable guy. BIG group project in the class but you can't get around that. He will help if you put in the effort and ask. GREAT GUY!!!
This is my first time ever rating a professor, but it is absolutely warranted for Professor Huber. Your grade in the class class will essentially consists of three exams, and a semester-long group project. The material itself is pretty easy, but he certainly expects you to apply yourself. Don't let any bad ratings deter you, Dr. Huber is awesome!
Attendance is mandatory and the whole class is structured on three tests and a semester long project. That being said this professor was very easy to talk to and cared about his students. Its clear he was passionate about the topics he taught and I left this class using skills I'll use later in life.
Happy retirement Dr. Huber! Very glad I had the opportunity to take his class in his last semester teaching. Amazing professor who kept lectures and class pretty interesting. Fair grader and definitely cares about his students, offers lots of career advice and help.
