He's hilarious and cool, tests very easy
I felt like this class was a waste of my time. There was too much focus on his own personal opinion and I thought his sense of humor sucked. Not only that he had a terrible sense of fashion and wore that awful Matlock suit way too much.
He rocks as a teacher
great guy. I liked his sense of humor. Who cares what he wears
Makes obtuse works like those of Plato fun and interesting
good man - very helpful, approachable.
this guy is hilarious... who cares if he needs a hair cut!!
One of the best profs at UND... made me want to pursue my masters in poly sci!

He seems to genuinely enjoy teaching. His tangents are the best; once I timed him for 15 minutes as he ranted and raved about his Aunt and got the whole class to laugh. Tests aren't too bad, but GO TO CLASS or you are SOL. He has you write two papers as well, but they are short and don't require much effort.
I love this class, he is funny, straight forward, and easy.
I thought he was awesome, very entertaining. He made the content of what could have been a very dry class interesting.
Very cool guy. Makes an otherwise boring topic interesting. I enjoyed the way he just randomly goes off about one topic or another and so did the rest of the class. Definately recommend the guy and the tests aren't that hard as long as you go to class and pay attention to his lecture, which isn't hard to do with him.
Very dynamic teaching style. Kind of crazy but knows what he's talking about. Know your current events!
super nice, some test questions are stupid.. but he has lots of fun stories and is fun to listen to..
He was very interesting, but he would get very side-tracked and off-topic. He was not helpful in answering questions or relating to students on an individual level.
Jendrysik is an overall good professor. He works at keeping students awake and interested, gives everyone equal opportunity to participate, and is good as sifting through ****. His grading seems somewhat subjective when it comes to papers, so be sure you know exactly what he is looking for. Two thumbs up for Jendrysik!
Awesome teacher
Pretty decent professor. Lots (and lots) of reading in 318, but if you attend class, you can get away with not reading all of it. Has a couple 5 page papers assigned and a final. If you find writing and reading alot easy, this should be a pretty easy class.
Made class exciting and really cares about students!
This guy is a joke. He doesn't seem to take anything seriously. I'm convinced he keeps forgetting to take his meds. He made me change my major from Poly Sci to something else.
Good Professor. Sometimes hard to stay connected to the class material. He does care about his students though. Take at least one class from him in your college career. It's an experience.
Makes great slideshows that are downloadable. Can be somewhat intimidating if you are not early to class during test days (he'll say, "you!" after you walk into the class, *points "Sit there by.."). Can spend a good 30 min on a political/personal tangent. However, makes some good jokes now and then. Teaches the material very well otherwise.
I cannot stand this class and especially the professor. He is a complete moron and is rude. He's very bitter and should addres his personal issues before coming to class so he doesn't take his anger out on his students. Give me a break.
He's da bomb
This guy is awesome! He is as down to earth as they come. His tests all take from the powerpoints. I didn't read the book at all and walked away with an A.He is more than willing to meet out side of class to answer any of your questions. Take his class!
Awesome professor! Makes a usually boring subject fun with his funny stories, and interesting views. He really cares about his students, and you can tell he knows politics inside and out and is very good at helping you after class. Dont buy the book though, everything on tests is from his lectures.
He has very strong opinions about what he teaches. He keeps things interesting and informative. Would definitely take a class from him again!
Teacher really knows his stuff. Tests are hard so be sure to go to class and actually listen to the little details. Do not buy the book I did not open mine once all year
AWESOME!
I genuinely looked forward to getting up at 8am to go to this class. He is very passionate about what he teaches. The class is interesting and easy. If you go to class, you will easily get at least a B.
He is an entertaining professor. His tests mainly follow his notes and if you attend class you will do even better. Ask for his help on the papers. He isn't a bad professor, just a little intimidating.
Very opinionated, and graded based on his opinion. Very rude and offensive at times. He thinks very highly of himself, and poorly of his students that have different opinions. He is a "big shot" kind of guy. Made me switch from PoliSci to a different major. Made class difficult and had an anger issue. I did learn some things, He is ALWAYS right
Very funny rants almost every day
Mark is a fantastic teacher. You will learn not only learn practical information about Political Science but also fun facts about his hometown of Chicopee, Massachusettes. Daily rants, daily educational beatings.
Easy class and a good teacher. Keeps the class entertaining. Also he gives out prizes in class sometimes. Make sure you show up the day before Thanksgiving break because he always gives and extra credit quiz. Don't buy the book. I never opened mine.
A great teacher. He makes class so much fun when he just starts talking about random things. He is very helpful if you have any questions he will help you out
get guy. funny and easy to listen to. i acctually enjoyed going to this class because of how entertaining he really is. definitly the best prof i have had. dont buy the book
Mark is a great guy! Absolutely loves his job and loves going on rants about nearly anything! Highly recommend Mark. Go to class take average notes and study.. no reason you shouldn't get below a B.
Don't really ever have to be in class powerpoint lectures are online he is very passionate about American Government. Good guy.
Loved it, Gets into his lectures very well, if you wanna class that you will enjoy, and get a few laughes take Mark! Very funny! Easy class you dont have to go if you dont want to, his powerpoints go over everything you would need to study and see at class! Marks a good guy!
Does mark curve grades, etc? Great teacher otherwise!
awesome teacher. very frank. brutal and interesting. and when he catches fever about a salient issue and goes off topic....oh nuts, i loved it!
Great teacher. Very intelligent man
He is very invested in the material he is talking about. He knows what he is talking about as well.
Really easy to listen to, goes on entertaining rants. Very clear about expectations for the course and due dates, gives reminders. Exams aren't bad.
Great professor! His lectures are incredibly interesting and he's really funny! His exams are based on lectures, so show up to class but there's no reason at all to buy the book. Easy A. For sure one of my favorite professors at UND!
His lectures are entertaining, and he is very comical. BE ready to read. He assigns a lot of reading.
Jendrysik is really passionate with his lectures. If you go to class and take notes you will do just fine. Every lecture he goes on these awesome rants that are hilarious and interesting.
He is very opinionated. If you don't have the same opinions as him you might as well not enter his classroom. When i realized that i didn't have a grade for the final i freaked out because grades had been posted. I thought he was gonna be super rude about it, but he ended up just letting me retake it. He truly is pretty awesome.
He's hilarious, but seems rather intelligent
Very rude, intimidating, & opinionated professor. Goes on rants every class period about things that have nothing to do w/ lecture. He bangs on the wall when he gets so angry and yells. He's stated many times that he hates people. The papers he assigns are graded poorly. Doesn't give much feedback; hardly anyone gets an A on them.
His lectures are quite interesting and comical. A lot of the things he says in class will be on the test so make sure you go. A great teacher for the course and I recommend him. Also the textbook quizzes are easy points so do them.
This was probably the most interesting polisci class I've taken. All of the authors you study are interesting. Mark gives amazing lectures so don't skip class. There's a lot of reading too. Only 2 papers and 2 exams. An old school grader so work hard to earn the grade you want. Lectures are pertinent to exams so go to class! A very good professor.
Mark is a hilarious professor. His exciting lectures will keep you coming to class and he's very good at what he does. He explains things very well and is very smart. Tests are kinda hard, but you'll make your points up on the papers and quizzes (Open book/online). You'll have to write 2 2-page papers on various topics. Overall, pretty fun class.
He was a great teacher! Kept lectures interesting, rambled on sometimes but very funny stuff. Not much was graded. There were five textbook quizzes(which you didnt need to read for) 2 research/opinion papers and four tests. The final isnt cumulative. I would say easy A but with such little to grade you have to maintain a good overall score.
Mark was great. If you struggle you just have to go talk to him and he will help. Funny guy. Recommended.
His lectures make a relatively boring topic very interesting. I actually enjoyed going to class. His occasional rants and tangents were super entertaining. He hates when people don't come to class and bases his tests on lecture material only. If you show up every day the class is a piece of cake, if you skip a lot your grade will show it.
Most fun lectures I've ever been too. He makes the material really easy to remember if you attend class.
Great interesting lectures. Tough paper grader however!
Dr. Jendrysik has his own personal set of views, and you are not going to change them. He feels strongly over various societal issues, and you will definitely hear about them. The best part of his class are his lectures; they are informative and his teaching style keeps you interested by periodically ranting about his views on historical events.
Jendrysik is great for all who want to learn the most over a latter grade, the class is not super easy, but he makes it fun and entertaining.
My experience with Professor Jendrysik was not what I was hoping it would be. He is rude and entitled. Does not feel he needs to help the students outside of class and is very opinionated. I would not recommend taking this class if you want to enjoy what you are learning.
Mr. Jendrysik is very passionate about political science. He is very entitled to his opinion, but many of his beliefs are based on old evidence. He rants at least once a day and I am surprised he hasn't ripped his hair out yet. Tests and quizzes are easy. Papers are graded toughly.
Initially, I was terrified of Mark. He turned out to be hilarious and he's extremely intelligent. Going to class is a very good idea because he tests on what he talks about, not just the powerpoints. It took me two exams to really get the hang of the class, but he does a great job at teaching!! Just don't use your phone in class!
Jendrysik is an amazing teacher! although the class is somewhat hard he really makes you think and question. If you want to leave college with a lot of new information and questions then take this class. he has his rants, but they just make the students pay even more attention. SHOW UP TO CLASS, its a good show every time!
Great lecturer and relatively easy. I'd recommend his gov 1 class and American political thought class.
The single smartest person I've ever met. His genius and brashness can make him hard to understandfor some, and that's why you see some bad feedback here. People say he's opinionated: He wants to be challenged on his positions! He is so accommodating if you just talk to him. A truly distinct brilliant guy that's pretty far from average.
One of the best teachers I've had here. Very inspirational, low workload, tests are fairly easy and papers require some time to write but the topics you get assigned for them are great. You can miss class sometimes and still succeed.
I took AmGov from Dr. Jendrysik this fall. It was my favorite class this semester, and it was definitely worth my time. He worked hard to make every lecture engaging and relevant; he's not a lecturer who will stand behind a podium and recite material for an hour. If you pay attention in class you shouldn't have a problem with his exams. Top marks!
This guy knows his stuff- inspired me to add a poli sci minor. The key to his classes is taking good notes because that's what he tests on. Tough paper grader, but approachable as long as you're not intimidated by his lecture persona. Also, his Opinion Corner asides are hilarious; he makes political science both clear and enjoyable.
Mark is one of the harder professors at UND, within the PS department. He sits on the PS board, so he is important. However, he is very entitled and very arrogant when lecturing. He gives his opinion far too often, and tests you on said opinions. He made people who raised their hands to ask questions feel dumb and that they should know better.
As long as you show up, you will get an easy A on the tests. He rants a lot which can be annoying, but it can be interesting too. His rants are sometimes hilarious which helps keep the class interesting. As long as you put a little effort into the class and do the work, you will get an A.
Hes a great well respected teacher. His lectures are very funny he has an opinion on everything. Overall great would recommend getting the textbook a lot of questions for the test come from the book as well.
Hands down my favorite professor at this school. He is very engaging and absolutely hilarious. Some people with sensitive feelings may say they didn't like the class, but you just got to grow up. He actually teaches and I felt like I actually learned something. I looked forward to his class every single week and started to really love politics more
I took this class online and I really enjoyed it. I'm not really into politics and this course made me more interested in it. There are about 2-3 lectures per week which are interesting. Tests come strictly from the lectures, so make sure you take good notes on what he says! Quizzes come from the book.
Dr. Jendrysiks POLS 115 class is a lecture class. You can find the answers for quizzes online, so there is no need to purchase the book for this class. He is a good teacher who gets off track often, but he will teach what he needs to before the test. The two papers are quite simple, and they shouldnt cause too much stress. Overall, good class.
Jendrysik is a funny person, goes off on lots of funny tangents (ask for a providence college story). The class is demanding, tons of readings to do before class. Everything is on blackboard & attendance is not mandatory but definitely helps for exams. exams are difficult, papers are manageable. it's a good class but requires a good amount of work.
Best professor at UND. Show up to class and you will not struggle at all.
Icon to UND
Highly recommend taking a class from Jendrysik. Attendance is important, but not always mandatory.
A Jendrysik course definitely is a memorable one. Absolutely hilarious dude in addition to being full of wisdom. For his upper level courses, be prepared to read because all of the work you do will be in direct relation to the assigned readings. He's also accessible and happy to provide feedback to students.
Dr. Jendrysik was a great professor. Easy but interesting class. Does not require much work to get an A. Keep in mind this semester was hybrid so all of our tests and quizzes were online as well as pretty much all other assignments.
Dr. Jendrysik has many opinions, and I learned a ton from his class. Generally he tried to be unbiased and left us to take his opinion for what it's worth. However he lost it one day about a certain issue, yelling, swearing, and insulting certain groups of people, and he lost my respect. Learned a lot, but there are better ways to present opinions.
This is a professor who will push you academically, in the best way though. You actually have to read the textbook and go to class. Along with notes and you'll be amazed at your scores. Not only will he pre-read your papers and give you exact comments to get full points. He answers his email almost around the clock! Dr. Jendrysik is the GOAT.
Mark is certainly interesting. He's very knowledgeable about his field and explains it thoroughly. You'll definitely learn a lot from him. He does get off on tangents which are entertaining and sometimes related to the lectures. He answers the class's questions with wonderful feedback. Do. Not. Mention. Russia. It brings out the devil in him.
I took every class I could with him. Really cares about the subject and his students.
Only took one of his classes before I transferred out of UND, but it was by far my favorite course at the uni. You can tell he's really passionate about the subject, and he always found a way to connect the lecture topic to current events. His quality feedback helped me do better on each essay I submitted.
Mark is super passionate about political science. The course is graded on less than ten assignments, including a final, midterm and two papers, there are 5 other tin assignments due throughout the year. The course is very intellectually stimulating. I would highly recommend.
He is very nice and talkative. Most of his lectures are not about course material but still very interesting. This class was pretty easy with minimal papers and quizzes and only a few online tests
He is pretty funny. His lectures are interesting because he is always going off on tangents and saying amusing stuff. He does occasionally go on rants about stuff he doesn't like, but he tries to be unbiased about really controversial stuff. His tests and quizzes are open notes. Also, there are two short papers that aren't too bad.
One of my favorite professor at the university. Participation will go a long way, don't be afraid to speak up in this class. Mark is super respectful and loves to talk and debate. Random extra credit is assigned so come to class. Take notes on the slides and just write down what he says because what he says in class will be on the test.
Pay attention and you will be good.
Go to class and stay on top of the assignments and you will be fine
Jendrysik's class is super easy. You could finish his class early if you really wanted to work hard. His assignments are laid out well. He only makes you write 2 papers. He's a funny and good professor who stays neutral but shares his opinions in his "opinion corner." Overall, great class, and I highly recommend taking it with him—worth it!
He genuinely enjoys his job and you can tell. His lectures are interesting and actually teach you about things going on in the world. A great professor if you just need to fill a credit, want something entertaining but not too difficult, and a government class that takes input from the students rather than pushing his ideals onto you. Great guy!
