very helpful, very smart. has online notes to help you study better. tests are a little hard but worth taking his class. his topics are very interesting and he talks to the students with much respect. definetly the best professor i ever had!

I took this class online. It was a lot of work but easy to follow. He's helpful when you fall a little behind. Very involved in the class. Seems like a great teacher, even though it's hard to tell online

I took him for Summer Session 1 on-line, it was a hectic class but he was cool, didn't penalize you for late papers and gave chances to earn extra credit.

Teacher is great. I had a classroom Sociology course with him. Makes the subject very interesting. Two thumbs up.

Wonderful professor who is enlightening and a pleasure to be taught by. He is interesting and his class is very structured in an easy to follow manner. Worth taking a class with him!

I took both classes on line and he was a pleasure. I learned a lot and enjoyed all of the assignments. I highly recommend taking professor Dr. Kassop.

I took Prof. K.'s on-line course and he is very helpful. His syllabus is very clear, however, there is alot of reading. You have to keep up with the assignments or your lost.

He's pretty good. Has a very good way of explaining things. Some things he focuses on too much and could get boring, but during certain topics in the class, we had fun. His tests are hard, I found myself guessing on all 6. He gives extra credit and you only have 1 paper and 3 online discussions.

I learned a lot with this professor. He was very into his subject and taught you about everything inside and out. I must have liked him ..I took many classes of his. There is a lot of reading and dedication but he is cool and wants you to pass!

The class was very easy, wrote a few 2 page papers, did extra credit and the midterm and final were easy. I hardly tried and I got a B.

One of the best class I ever attended. He's very organized and clear about everything. He's very knowledgeable and answers email very fast. You'll learn a lot from him. Its ideal that you pass papers on time and just read and understand the textbook, easy A.

I found this class to be very easy if you can organize your time. The material given was helpful as study aids for the exams. Prof. Kassop was really on top of grading my work within 24 hours or less. Impressive!!!

Took the class online and Sociology was never this hard before! This professor knew his stuff, was helpful with students, very easy to cope with in terms of project submission. But the course was made too taxing for a minor subject. It was impossible to get an A in your projects (even at times you are doing his additional grade stuff )!

very nice teacher. took him online and he made everything clear. you write a lot of papers, but everything you need to know you use from your text book. very kind and always grades right away. id take him again.

great professor

The best professor at Bergen. No final, no midterm, no term paper. Only 6 multiple choice tests and extra credit for each test. Explains everything clearly and also gives you a website to get the class notes. No attendance policy. I reccomend Dr.Kassop to anyone.

The best teacher at BCC, helpful, nice person and very friendly; there is a lot of information that he gives, but if you read the book , pay attention to his lectures and read the online notes and do the extracredit you will learn a lot from this class. Kassop is great...he is a teacher who actually cares what you have to say...and he listens to it and remembers it! He makes you feel like he wants you in his class.

Prof. Kassop is great. He is very understanding and really cares about his students. I would recommend this class to everyone. I recommend that whoever takes this class study really well for the test other than that its all good.

Dr. Kassop is an excellent educator and has provided a tremendous amount of information and support to the online class. He made distance learning easy, though there was a lot of reading,writing and thinking. It is admirable that he got back to me with questions I had instantaneously!His deadline policy is more than fair; he is on point!

I took this class on-line, summer semester. Since the class was only 5 weeks long, it was a lot of work, but it was managable and fair. Dr. Kassop was always available, and you get your grades within 24 hours. 5 reaction reports, 5 discussions, midterm and final. Gives extra credit. I got an A. I enjoyed taking Dr. Kassop, good teacher.

I took his online Sociology course and I really liked it. You can tell he cares about making sure you understand the coursework and doesn't just give you fluff. He's also extremely good at responding to questions and grades very quickly. The class wasn't eay, but I really enjoyed it.

he is a great teacher,very knowledgeable...you have to study though..He's very helpful,tests are pretty hard,but if you have a book and read chapters-you have an A..definitely would take him again:)

this call online was so much work..it was ridulous..u have 5 papers that need so much detail, dicussions, but u get extra credit, the mid term and final came from the book so if you only your use notes u fail...the test were really hard...

This professor was great for an online class professor. His due dates were very flexible and grading was flexible. I would defnitely take a class with this professo again.

Considerate, helpful, and attentive to students; sends helpful e-mail reminders of due dates/essentials ESPECIALLY during a hectic summer session. Avid hiker and very nice person/professor.

Very nice, you don't have to worry about late assignments, although they are hard. The tests are hard,but he gives alot of extra credit.

Had him for online sociology and was great! Very nice man and does not rush you like most online classes do. Makes it easy to e-mail him and is nice to talk to! Easy going! Overall GREAT professor! I highly suggest taking him!

This professor was great. This was my 3rd online class and it was really easy to participate because the material was so interesting. He was really flexible with due dates and made the class fun and interesting. i definitely recommend him and his class!!

I really dont understand the people who say his class is hard or difficult. I just got an A in his class and it was sort of a breeze. I have to admit you really need to read ALOT and have good writing skills but if you have good time management, its easy. The professor is extremely nice, caring, and especially helpful

This man is a legend, hands down. How many people can make taking online sociology fun? Not too many. Mark was very lenient with submitting assignments, got back to you right away with questions, and was extremely helpful. He also gave a lot of extra credit opportunities. If you have to chance to have him as your prof, don't turn it down.

Professor Kassop is one of the few best. He established perfect written communication for his online classroom.He measures communication skills extremely well. He is a diplomat of and for education and knows how to repackaged the textbook material to be learned online. He knows how to practice the virtue of making and leaving a positive impact.

take his online classes. he is awesome. this class is work, and its easy to fall behind in any online class....espcially his since he is so casual about due dates. but all in all this was an intersting class and he makes you want to do better. he is definitely a critical grader but again, this pushed me to work harder. i loved his class

i took his class online and it was hard. there are 5 essays can you believe it. in summer this is more than writ 201 class, ya he gives more time to hand it, but still too much to write for soc class.plus the exams are too much.i am not planning to take him again at all and good luck if you want take him

Will keep busy busy busy. Al lot of material to read and in the beginning intimidating a little. Two page comments on your assignments that in reality will make you understand what exactly he wants, so it will be very helpful for later.Very interesting material and discussions but would prefer if he par6icipated in the discussions with us.

I learned so much in this class! I loved his lectures he is very informative. Make sure you take lots of notes!

I love Dr. Kassop. I am completing my second online course with him and I'm so happy I did. He's not easy, but he makes sure you learn, encourages you to think and be involved in discussions. No late penalties, lots of extra credit, and fair tests. Do your work, post on the board, and you're good! And he e-mails back and grades quickly.

ALTHOUGH, HIS CLASS WAS HARD I LEARNED ALOT. HE HAS HARSH THINGS TO SAY, HOWEVER, HE GRADES FAIR.HE GIVES ALOT OF WORK, THERE IS ALOT OF READING. I WOULD SAY, ALL IN ALL HE IS A GOOD PROFESSOR. He is really helpful, involved and dedicated. I took him online, 4 reaction reports, discussion questions 2 tests and lots of extra credit. He is super considerate and flexible with due dates. I can not stress enough what a great professor he is. Take this class you will learn and if you do the work get the grade you deserve!

I took his online class in the beginning was fun, BUT later on I found out there is too much to do assignments reaction reports, Link letter and stuff. Hes really helpful and he replies fast, but too much work to do for an online class for sociology :S more than WRT 101.Thus if you like to challenge your self and study 4 times a week go ahead.

With any other Prof, i would have gotten an A. I took him online and he is a hard grader. He is confused like the quotes he puts with his signature. he writes too much, so many irrelevant mails. I got a B becos he doesnt believe in B+

I took his online class for Fall 2011 and it was so much fun! The work is interesting and he provides opportunity for extra credit. He is fair in his grading and is very good in providing in depth details to your reaction reports. He provides you with ways to study and to understand the context a lot more clearly. Very good teacher.

Professor Kassop is very on top of assignments and yet still laid back. He sends many emails but it's not a bad thing because they are mostly reminders. During the whole semester he also gives alot of positive enforcement in those emails. I enjoyed the class very much and learned alot about how families work together.

I enjoyed taking Dr. Kassop's class. It was an online course, but he was entirely clear on the assignments throughout the semester and on their deadlines. We were given plenty of time and leeway to get the work done, and there was plenty of extra credit work available. He was incredibly helpful and clear. I would take one of his classes again.

This class was very interesting. Dr. Kassop is very laid back and at the same time very involved and helpful. All the work is in the syllabus and you can work at your own pace. He makes it pretty easy to get an "A" you just have to do the work. I would recommend the class.

He is an excellent professor and takes online education to a whole different level. He is in tune with the class, very informative, and made you feel as though you were in a regular classroom setting.

This Professor is so helpful and really willing to go the extra mile for his students. The tests are a bit tricky but he really is there to help and he gives an extension if you are unable to complete the work by the end of the semester.

Great professor!!! I took an online sociology class (Family) and he was awesome! He gives you a lot of opportunity to submit extra credit. I did not do any and I got an A in his class. You must read and have an understanding of the material to pass the class. Definitely recommend him if you have to take any sociology classes!!!!

My first online class. A lot of work, a lot of reading but definitely doable. Dont expect easy A without doing much work. Gives opportunity for extra credit which can help a lot. Midterm was really difficult but final was a piece of cake. Make sure to do practice quizzes.

Dr. Kassop is an excellent teacher of sociology. He is clearly passionate about this subject, and though the course is not easy, it is well worth the time and effort. i would certainly take on another online course with Dr. Kassop at the helm.

Dr. Kassop is a great teacher! I went into this course simply looking to get some electives covered; I really think I benefited from this course! You must not fall behind. It is a lot of material, but if you keep up, you will do well and will enjoy this course. Dr. Kassop always responds quickly to emails and is very accessible. Highly recommended!

Professor Kassop was phenomenal! his exams are very straight forward, most of the class notes are online; but i highly recommend attending every class! his insights are truly amazing and his teachings are constantly interesting. he is a very fair professor and always responds to emails.

Took this as an online class over the summer. Dr. Kassop would send constant email reminders on work to be done and due dates. He is flexible on when reports could be handed in and offers an extension if requested early enough. Also offers extra credit opportunities.

really nice teacher. multiple choice test for each unit online. He uses moodle alot so its very helpful. he puts his own online notes on moodle so you should bring to those to class. you should get the book because there are questions on the test that we didnt learn. for extra credit do the linkletters for each unit (very easy).

best professor I have taken at Bergen! very interesting class. his tests are straightforward and not very difficult. gives a ton of extra credit and he is very down to earth he likes to help students out. definitely take his class!!

Very helpful, Responds very quickly to emails. Took him for the 7 week online soc-103 class. wasn't a heavy workload, but it can seem that at times. You just need to read the syllabus carefully. Extremely good feedback, for our class, we had recommended due dates for assignments, he didn't penalize students for late assignments.

You MUST have text, all work uses book as reference. He provides notes, and chances for extra credit. Gives timely feedback, with positive comments and suggestions on how to improve. Makes himself available, for questions and and clarifications.

Professor Kassop was awesome. He is not boring at all. He talks alot about his family and himself as it relates to topics. The test are taken online. If you report to class and take notes you will pass his class with no problem. He is very nice and is always available via email etc for help if needed as well as office hours.

Dr. Kassop is fair, gives extra credit opt, grades & responds to emails quickly. Do practice quizzes, cite multiple theories/sociologists in RRs. Midterm harder than final. Excellent Professor!
