oh my god he is soo hot take him if you can
No Comments
Very Very Good
he really made me interested in a topic that i thought would be so boring.
great teacher... swears! ...... he's funny
Kemper is the man. Funny as hell. Never though govt. could be so fun.
showed the monty python in class. and he is a total hot prof... take this class
I loved politcs before I took the class, understood it after. Excelent Prof, but Jay Severen isn't that bad!!!
take him for anything you can!!! one of the best classes i've ever taken, and one of the best professors at BSC. plus he's cute ;o)
Good teacher, funny, laid back course. Show up and take the tests and you'll get an A.

He didnt have a clue what he was doing. Made us all debate online. He was funny but that was because he was ****.
very very cool, looks like dave matthews???
Pretty funny, young and energetic. Tests are easy if you study and if you have a knowledge of what the government is you don't need a book. only tests on stuff he says in class, so take good notes.
Best prof I've had at BSC. Hated history/gov't before the class, wanted to change my major to Pol Sci afterwards! He's very funny, relevant & intelligent - knows the material! His classes keep you involved. Good notes & participation will earn you an A.
He is a very good professor and he is one of the cutest around BSC!
Professor Kemper is one of the best professors at BSC. As long as you show up to classes and take good notes you can get an A. His tests are not hard if you pay attention and take good notes. Take as many classes as you can with him you won't regret it!!
Great prof!!...If you want to learn take him. He is funny and interesting and he knows his s***.
I suck in his class because I hardly ever go, but when I'm there, I'm entertained. He's really funny in an odd way, and is also really attractive. Definitely a Dave Matthews lookalike!
Teacher is extremely helpful if one has questions. It was a tough class, in that it was a night class (7:30-10:10PM). Teacher gives fair grading. I would take this teacher again if I had to.
Taking his government class now, he doesn't give us any clue as to what questions are on his test. He just says it could be on anything. Its three essay questions and you can pick two. THANKS -REAL HELPFUL!!
Ahh, Kemper. One of my fav classes at BSC. He'd quote movies, swear, tell funny stories...i was so amused. He's a cutie aaaaaand I sweat Kemper. In terms of teaching, he was great, explained everything clearly, had a real love for the material. Easy A.
Easy course... Just show up for class and participate. He's cute too, so it's worth it. Lectures are actually interesting. Plays devil's advocate to keep students involved in debates. Cool dude!!! Made me want to switch majors. Didn't though....
funny dude..keeps u interested in the subject. however, he can be very unclear at times and kinda boring. doesnt tell you whats on the tests..expects you to be a wizard. make sure to take good notes, and dont miss a class cuz you'll be screwed.
hated the fact he made us attened an on campus lecture. unfair grader and didnt gaurentee us the 5 points the the students got automatically for attending when we had to wrtie 2 papers. other than that very funny and kept me interested.
Is not a good teacher, is very unclear and unorganized. will not tell you whats on the tests and takes forever to correct them. boring lectures. he thinks he is the man. to pass this class just make sure you study ALL of your notes.
This class was awful. He is very unclear in his lectures and expects you to do well on tests that he doesn't prepare you for. I do not reccomend him at all.
Go to class+take notes=A. Only thing I didn't like was the fact that he was so late on our grades that everyone got an incomplete until he gave them to the registrar...very unprofessional. Other then that, I liked him, he's intelligent and funny.
He is a nice guy and really funny! Don't read! Don't even buy the book!! His essay tests are right from the notes.Make sure you study though because the questions are long and detailed. He takes forever to grade the tests though-FOREVER.
Intereting class if you like poli sci, test on notes, easy to follow. good prof
Excellent teaching style. Great personality, tests are challenging but rewarding.
Definately take him for PO 172, if you are even remotely interested in law take him, it is the easiest Poly sci concentration and he is an awesome advisor and great teacher, best i have ever had cares only about the students take his practicum course 2
Very unclear and his test's are aweful. Don't even buy the book cuz none of it will be on the tests (which are all essays). I would not recommend him.
Sense of humor adds to the class. He does press you to back up your points without making you feel like an ass if its wrong. Takes forever to hand back tests.
Makes points very clear by repetition. No papers. Pushes far right-wing ideologies, esp. anti-judicial branch. Not socratic style, no debate. Brownie points for expressing poli agreement. Out of class research important for understanding modern relevance of political philosophies; has a poli agenda.
He is awesome! He is so funny. If you like the law and you go to class take his classes. You need to be there to pass the essay tests that he gives. All tests are cumulative and he expects a lot out of the students BUT he definitely gives you enough to meet those expectations.
he is a nice guy and is funny which makes he class interesting. only bad things are that his tests are too hard-he should give a study guide to help review the material and he doesnt call the class cancellation line when class is cancelled. pay attention and you will do fine, and go to class
Not very helpful or clear. Nice, funny guy, but you will feel very unprepared for his tests-which are based solely on his notes. Does NOT give any study tips or guides for the tests, which are cumulative. He's nice, but I would not take him again
He is very funny and keeps the class interesting. He plays a great devils advocate which keeps the debate going. Good class... all based on notes.
As long as you show up for this class and write stuff down you will do fine. I had no interest in this topic and I managed to get an A with minimum effot. I thought I was confused and didn't understand stuff, but clearly I did because I got A's on all the tests.
Interesting guy with a great sense of humor. Very understanding, but you must make effort to come to class. Tests are all essays which he gives you ahead of time. Tests are all from notes. Do not buy book, completely unnecessary!
adds humor to a subject that could easily be boring. tests come straight from class notes. very fair and one of my favorite teachers.
Great guy. I heard hes actually a standup comedian which makes sense because he is very funny. Grading is weird with only exams for grades but teaches good, all from notes and seems like the kind that would work with you.
Nice enough guy, took his first semester of teaching, he didn't seem to have a teaching style. If you read the books you should do fine, but don't expect any help from him. The essay's questions on the test require alot of thought, he makes you really go deep.
This guy is fantastic. Really know's his stuff and injects some humor into the class lectures. Only drawback are the hard, all-essay tests, which were manageable if you pay attention and take lots of detailed notes.
Exams are hard. Must come to class and take detailed notes. Very funny!
Kemper gets a bad rep of giving hard tests but I never got below a 94 and I had him five times! Dr. Kemper is the reason that I added Poli Sci as a second major and he definitely helped shape the kind of student I became.
Kemper rocks. Not the easiest class in the world, but it's really thought-provoking. The all-essay exams can be hard, but he's not a tough grader. 15-page research paper is done in 3 segments. Was hoping to cover more topics than abortion, but class discussion, which was every class, was almost alwasy interesting . Oh, and the guy's SO damn funny.
Kemper is the most unorganized professor. He thinks hes funny. Its hard to put in so much work for a professor who doesnt do it back.
I found this class very frustrating as we covered very few topics and the professor is totally unorganized. Tests were not too tough and he gives you the essay questions beforehand.
great teacher sometimes class can seem long but kemper is really witty and fun to joke with. anwser any and all questions after class and makes you think and defend your postion worth taking!!!!
He's a little disorganized, often late to class. His lectures aren't bad, but can be a little hard to take when he's drawing diagrams for an hour. (These can appear on tests). Not bad overall, had better. He gives the essay test questions before hand, but doesn't ask all of them.
Tries hard to keep students interested in the material, which can be a bit dry if you're not a Poli Sci Major. Knows his stuff, but is kind of smart-alecky which probably comes with the territory of being a Poli Sci Professor. VERY good-looking, but also seems to be aware of it....Good class overall, take very good notes, and attend all classes.
Dr. Kemper isn't hard. Yea, he can be a little boring, but he's clear and he tries to make you think. He'll take a case and argue it 2-3 different ways, and then will ask for your input. The more you put into his class the more you get. His essay qs are off of what he spends 2 weeks talking about. No attendance policy, so your grade is wat u do.
Poli 199 Right to privacy. Its an alright class. They are very long. He can make 15 min feel like an hour. You have a really big essay i think 10 pages due at the end of sem. You read a lot of court cases. If can be interesting at times but be difficult to understand. You have to work hard for the A cause there is not a lot of assignments
Unpredictable changes in syllabus, grade values, testing and presentation schedules that are unfair to students. Poorly organized. Has no lesson plans for the 2nd 1/2 of the semester. Difficult exam in the form of a large situational application of cases studied. Unwilling to provide much extra help. Does not help moot court competitors practice.
I took him for a first year semenar and it was aweful! He is so boring and goes on and on about nothing! He's not very organized when he teaches. He grades pretty easy though. I should have failed and i got a B. But the class is just so BORING!
this guy is such a horrible teacher...i am taking him this semester and he is so unfair in the way he grades!!! his lectures go on and on about nothing, and he does nothing to help you prepare for the moot court...DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!
This teacher is HORRIBLE!! He is so boring. He'll ask questions, and when no one answers, will just sit there in silence. He goes on and on about nothing. This class isn't even about American Government. He makes you do this Moot Court that makes no sense and doesn't explain what to do. DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!
Awful class. He gives almost no explanation for the tests and moot court project. Is drawn out and very, very boring in his lectures and is almost condescending when he addresses his students. One redeeming quality may be that he is a fairly easy grader. Overall a very unpleasant teacher. Avoid him.
This teacher doesn't know how to teach. He didn't teach us anything about American Government. He makes no sense when he teaches and will ask a question and no one answers. That is because no one understands him. We had to do a moot court which is for law students. He doesn't give any support on it. DO NOT TAKE HIM!
Pretty good professor. Very nice if you need help. The only problem he really has in classes is he goes off on tangents about random things sometimes and you have to remind him what he was talking about. He can also be kind of funny at times too. I enjoyed his class.
Do NOT take him!! lots of notes lots of work!
Awesome professor! The lectures are extremely helpful. If you pay at least half attention you will do fine on the exams. Gives a midterm and final. Also does moot court for every law class. The first one sucks because no one has any idea what they're doing but, the more you do it, the easier and more fun it gets. Really funny guy and easy grader.
Not a good professor. You start by taking notes as he talks..he goes at a very fast past, doesnt explain things, doesn't slow down, and his tests are incredibly hard. I have never had a professor who gives no guidelines on what to study and just says "know everything this is college" hes rediculous. Don't take him!
This guy makes it impossible to take good notes in class, doesn't provide a book, and the stuff on blackboard is very dry and hard to get through. Nobody ever knows what he's talking about, and his constant questions only get blank stares. so far I've learned almost nothing about American Gov't, certainly not anything useful in real life. AVOID!
This class was one of the most confusing classes I have had. Kemper is very scattered during lectures and it is hard to keep up with him and take adequate notes. With no textbook, it is really important to get it all down in class-which is impossible. He takes over a month to give back exams. I would not take his class again.
He's an awful professor! He doesnt know anyones name and never takes attendance. He also doesnt use a book. There are 3 exams, 2 in class and the final is take home but he grades pretty tough. He's so boring and unorganized. I would never take this professor again!
Worst Prof. ever! Hard to take notes in class, he goes too fast. No book makes it even more difficult. Material he did provide was so raw and boring, really difficult to understand. Exams are all open Q's. Spent way too much time talking about how most people dumb down college for the smart people, and should just be in a trade. Awful!
This man is terrible. His tests are open ended and lectures are boring and it's hard to grasp the key points. He rambles on about dumb things and swears all the time. One time, he screamed "shut the f*** up" to the class and swore about 20 times in 30 seconds when only two people were talking. He is an embarrassment to BSC. I hate Mark Kemper.
Kemper's class itself is managable but often boring. He tells random pointless stories. The class consists of readings and three tests but he is an awful teacher. He is late to almost every class and randomly outbursts with unnessary swearing.
He is a friendly enough guy, however, I was totally dissatisfied with his grading policies. He gave me 15.5 out of 20 points for participation, yet I attended every class and was an active participant. I was an older student in the class and I got the sense my age was a barrier for him. That was just my opinion, based on his attitude towards me.
He is a horrible teacher! Swears at us comstantly! Doesn't give fair tests, unfair extra credit and rediculous grading tactics! He should not be a professor of a 100 level class. rediculous. stay clear of kemper!!!
He talks alot about cases, no book, swears alot, gets annoyed when class participation is low, tests are essays and are hard, you need to do the reading he gives you and he grades very hard and takes over a month to give tests back. Stay clear is possible..
He knows what he is talking about. He is a very smart man it just doesn't translate into teaching students. He expects you to be on top of the readings. Tests are hard all essays, and he is unclear about grading. He never gave us our grades in a timely manner either. Hes a good teacher but you need to put the effort in or else you will not do well
Really good teacher. Likes a lot of class involvement, the class is basically just doing his readings (online, no book) as homework and then we all would have a conversation about different ideas. Tests were very challenging, all essays, including the final. Good teacher though, explains class material well.
Class listed as 200 level but SHOULD be 400 level! Professor expected students to do readings but little if any direct discussion of readings. Readings are actual SJC cases so can be confusing if unfamiliar. Tests are ALL ESSAY and TOUGH and he requires participation in mock court/public speaking. Class began full @ 25, ended @ 12, half dropped!
Horrible teacher expects way to much out of his students. he is a very smart man he knows what es talking about but should not be teaching 100 level course all quizzes are pop quizzes and they are very hard..i dont recommend this teacher at all!!!
He tries to be funny, swears alot but at least smile ones in a while. Have 6 pop quiz per semester, and believe me they are really hard. He doesn't have a book for the class. The reading is on blackboard. Really hard to understand and even harder to understand him while he is trying to go over it. I will not recommend you to take this class at ALL
good guy, funny. i like his tenacity and style. he is extremely intelligent and expects the same from his students. the readings are on blackboard and are pertinent to the lectures. dont miss classes! It is NOT easy reading and my advice is to take notes from your readings and study those notes before every class because he does surprise quizzes.
If one wants to be challenged, then take this class. Yes, some of the previous comments state that he is a "Difficult Professor" however by taking his classs you are only helping yourself, further expanding your knowledge and education
Ive had this guy a couple times and you have to have some kind of cognitive reasoning to take him. You absolutely cannot be an idiot or you will have a tough time. But if you are not an idiot take him he's awesome he makes his classes fun and challenging.
Alot of readings. Tests are unreasonably tough. Had me confused all semester. Doesn't bother to know anything about his students. Asks unclear questions that no one knows how to answer, then gets angry at the lack of response. Frustrating class.
hard class, unannonced quizzes, not specific on what the 3/4 term exam(which is two days) lots of reading and just challenging
Awesome Professor! Keeps the class interesting and fun.The course work is hard but if you're here to learn something he would be a great professor to take. He knows what he's talking about and you'll definitely come out knowing so much more than before. No written homework, a few quizzes, one test. Lots of time for work to be completed
This guy is a great professor if you do not want to work do not take him. If you are willing to work and learn a lot about the material then his class is worth taking. You also get a few laughs throughout the semester with him.
Great professor in class. If your not prepared to READ a BOATLOAD of cases do not take his class
Great guy, really intelligent. He definitely knows what he's talking about, he just has a really crappy way of teaching. He expects a lot from the students and treats us like we should know every answer. Take him if you feel like being challenged. He likes to push people for answers. He won't spoon feed them to you. Easy grading system.
Tough, but good and fair.
He actually makes you think but if you put the effort in it will be fine. The final oral exam is scary but he doesn't grade it as hard as you might expect. He is cool as a person but not super easy as a prof. If you're a CJ major I wouldn't take him.
Kemper spent maybe a month and a half actually teaching and discussing the case law we use on an important final paper. Learned nothing this semester. What he did talk about went over 90% of the class's heads. You cant write a coherent paper on concepts you were never taught.
There is a boatload of reading required for this class. If you miss class you most likely will not pass. Not many tests but the final is a 50 minute long oral argument one on one. But also a great professor - you will learn a lot just a LOT of work be prepared
I took this class to fill a few requirements but i am not a CJ major, so it was incredibly difficult for me to understand. He doesn't actually teach you material, he gets lost in conversations about politics but never about what we are supposed to be covering. I would not recommend taking him at all.
Kemper is a pretty solid professor. He breaks up lectures with jokes and movie references (impress him with knowledge of rock n roll and 1980's movies!) He gets off topic pretty easily but the class always gets back on track. He is very open about expressing his own views and publicly challenging those of students, so be aware of that.
I took is 285 online class-- HUGE MISTAKE! He sends the most complex syllabus you'll ever see. He cancelled over half of our assignments in the semester, which made random quizzes worth a huge amount of the class. He didn't give feedback on a single assignment, so at any given time in the semester you have literally no idea how you're doing
He is a nice guy and clearly very intelligent! But, his class is very unorganized and the class is basically just talking about cases. I wish we talked more about the actual judicial process. We were graded on about 4 pop quizzes and one final. If you answer a question, prepare to have an explanation! Overall, pretty decent class and learned alot!
This guy is a genius. His lectures are fun and he really makes you stretch your mind. You need to make yourself known in the class. The lecture is really dependent on class discussion and if you don't speak up then you are unlikely to do well. You also need to stay on top of the readings because there a lots of surprise quizzes.
Great professor. Older comments say the final is an oral argument, this isn't the case anymore. Just pop quizzes and a final exam along with a final paper.
Kemper is a stand up guy but clearly overwhelmed with work. Class was a bit unorganized, syllabus was useless. No exams, just case readings and short essays as assignments. Longwinded lectures but also complex and valuable discussions around the constitution. Defnitely take his grad class over the alternative, he definitely keeps it interesting.
He is way off topic 24/7. Gives pop quizzes and the quiz question doesn't even make sense because his lectures were so off topic. Will never take a class of his again. Worst professor I've had at BSU.
Kemper is probably the worst professor at BSU. You dont do anything in that class besides listen to him lecture about off topic things rather than what you should learn. He gives pop quizzes that are super long questions that dont make any sense because you have no idea what is going on. WORST PROFESSOR!!!!
DO. NOT. TAKE. THIS. PROFESSOR. Honestly, he is one of the worst professors Ive ever had. I dont think I learned one thing from his class. His lectures are very disorganized and not helpful. Its very hard to follow when hes teaching and he doesnt write down any notes. After 10 mins of the class, I had no idea what he as talking about.
This man should not be a professor. His lectures are very hard to understand and hard to take notes. But he gives random pop quizzes that are very difficult. The questions are very wordy and hard to understand. And he makes the student feel very dumb if we get answer a question wrong. Oh and he only gave us one graded quiz back, out of 5.
The absolute WORST professor I've ever had at Bridgewater. Please BEWARE. I wish I would of read this before I took his class. He lectures alot, it is very difficult to take notes because he is so off topic. He grades NOTHING. 5 quizzes and I've gotten 2 back in 4 months. He is very disrespectful to student. Makes you feel very dumb in class.
Never turns grades in, swears up and down in class. All around horrible professor!!
I took this class to see if I would be interested in law. I really regret taking it with Kemper. He's a smart guy, but hes ALL OVER THE PLACE. One minute he would be discussing the material, and the next, he would start quoting irrelevant 80's movies. Its a shame, because I really wanted to learn about law in this class. Not a good teacher at all
There are some people who are smart in their subject, yet cannot teach. Kemper is one of those people. He teaches his intro law class as if all of his students are experts of law, asking difficult and vague questions and overly critiquing everyone's answers. He might be a good professor for higher level classes, but definitely not intro classes.
Makes you feel stupid when grading work. Did not grade anything until the last day of classes so you had no opportunity to fix how you did your work. Has absolutely no respect for students. Horrible professor. Will never take him for another course again.
He didn't post anything for weeks at a time. Gave ZERO response to discussion boards. Gave back one grade by May 1st. You have no idea how you are doing in the class. What a waste of $$$!!! How can a person learn with no feedback?? What a joke!!!
Very liberal and unorthodox when it comes to his courses. He recognizes that 95% of the people who take his course are Poli-Sci majors who want to be there, and therefore he trusts theyre interested in the subject. He assigns very few quizzes, no homework, but a bunch of reading. If you care about the subject, you will learn a lot and do well.
Took his law online class and it was A JOKE. We were suppose to do one topic per week on discussion board and we only did four, out of fifteen. Had four quizzes, a short paper, no more than 400 words, and 2 papers, no more than 750 words. Easy class to pass though. Gave back all grades at the end of the semester
The pity of this is, he's not stupid. He's clearly got the academic background. But this class is capital-W Worthless. Lectures are circular and rarely, if ever, stay on topic; I've seen him give the same lecture, almost verbatim, for 3 or 4 classes in a row. Minimal reading and homework, no clear reading schedule whatsoever. Easy A if you show up
I love Kemper--took every one of his Constitutional Law classes and there was always a same group of familiar faces who obviously felt the same way. Treat his class like a seminar--a forum to argue, debate, and discuss law and its underlying principles. If you don't like to talk in class, it won't be your thing. Easy to do well if you pay attention
Kemper never gives feedback on any of your work until right before grades are due. At that point you have no idea that you haven't been properly answering questions. The information is interesting, but it is not worth the stress of having absolutely no idea on how you are doing. Also the discussion posts are constant and confusing.
I don't know what the regular workload would have been like since this class was taken during Covid. You read every week and then submit a post to BB for HW. We had 4 essays during the semester. He's fine, he's nice and gives you head-ups' about new assignments. You're gonna read a lot during this class, so be ready.
Kemper is really smart and knows his stuff. He facilitates a welcoming environment for students of all political leanings to share their opinions and knows how to run class. He does grade based on pop quizzes and only a few tests but if you come to class and actively engage, you'll do well. I am not a poli sci major but really enjoyed class.
I took this class for a credit that had nothing to do with my major and I honestly did not expect it to be as smooth sailing as it was! I have never taken a political class before but professor Kemper made it pretty clear. You have a few readings and then you submit a BB post. There's also 4 papers. The class is pretty solid and he's pretty nice!
Dr. Kemper is both intelligent and passionate. I had always looked forward to class and have enjoyed the assigned course readings. The assignments aligned fluidly to the study materials as well as class discussions. I really have nothing critical to say and I have nothing but respect and admiration for this professor.
Took his class online asynchronous and he does absolutely zero teaching. He gives about 20-30 long readings for each topic that are filled with legal jargon, difficult to read, and nothing else. He does not give a single grade. It is two days before grades close and I have received one grade out of 5 essays and several discussion posts. DO NOT TAKE
I will be honest in saying that there is a lot of reading in this course (four papers due as well as may discussion posts) but the professor is EXTREMELY fair on timelines and was willing to work with students by extending multiple timelines, he is a very kind and understanding professor.
This class was moderate to say. The professor is a critical grader and assigns a lot of readings per semester. Class overall consisted of three major essays and weekly discussion boards. Grades also take awhile to show up and papers take long to grade. Wouldn't take unless mandatory.
Dr. Kemper is very passionate about the subject he teaches. While that is a good thing, that may also be his downfall because classes are all over the place. He is a very generous grader and his essays are short (750 words). Classes and assignments are not organized and due gates are always pushed back but its a very easy A class
Prof likes when you participate in class. Assigns lots of reading, but we don't even go over all of it. 4 essays, not too long. Easy grader. Lectures aren't structured, he mostly talked about what he wanted and went with the flow of discussion. Sometimes it was hard to follow. Overall easy course, not difficult if you do at least one reading.
This Professor grades super tough, assigns several readings, and takes forever to grade and get back to students. I have been waiting since September to get an assignment back, so it leaves me not knowing where I stand grade-wise.
Selects 3-4 "note-takers" who had to take notes for the lecture and then send them to him by the next day. I did notes 6-7 times and never got credit for them. Had 1 assignment the whole semester, an essay that he didn't grade until the end of the semester but then the final was an essay that the same week he assigned 2 DB assignments. Not a fan.
The only thing about him that was stressful was his grading habits. He does not grade anything until the end of the semester which leaves you having no clue what your grades are like. Overall, cool guy, lectures can feel long but just show up and you'll be fine.
Lectures were more like stand up comedy routines, but made it very clear that if you didn't listen to him, you'd struggle on the papers (just do the readings). Said we'd be graded by three essays and a final, but ended up grading on one essay and the final, and we didn't receive grades for either until break. Also, condescending and self important
Dr Kemper frequently posted the weeks' assignments days late. He only graded and gave feedback on 1 out of 4 essays before the end of the semester. On the day grades were due, he graded the last 3 essays but left no comments or feedback. Entire class is readings. He grades work anonymously. Maybe class is better in person.
This class was particularly difficult as it was lecture heavy but he never used power points, it was strictly him talking as he remembered things. We had a paper due March 3rd and it is May 3rd and I have not received a grade. The final is due on the 8th, so I have no clue what I am receiving in this class. The entire class is based on 2 essays.
Professor Kemper's POLI285 class can be challenging, with a heavy emphasis on lectures and essays. However, if you engage with the material and use helpful study tools like Unstuck AI, you can succeed. The grading process could use some improvement, but overall it's a worthwhile course.
He's not a bad guy but this class was super confusing. We only had one essay, even though we were told there would be 3, it's been a month and he hasn't graded it. There's no homework just the readings, the questions he asks in class can be hard to follow. The class is nervous about the final.
Enjoyed a handful of his classes, but he hasn't graded anything, and there are two classes left. The class is mostly tedious, unorganized, and incoherent lecturing. He is condescending and unprofessional, with constant, unnecessary swearing. Says he'll psomething and just doesn't
Big chunk of grade is participation and graded no note takings and only 2 papers. Do what is expected and you'll be fine. Interesting guy just seemingly checked out and hard to read iyk
one of the nicest teachers here. he talks about cases and explains the laws in ways your actually understand. don't be scared to ask questions. he likes to go off topic A LOT but that's ok its entertaining. he's a cool dude, if you fail the class that's on you. also try to participate.
Some weeks w/ nothing to do, others w/ 200+ dense pages to read & DBs. He posted hundreds of pages to read & a paper to write days before the end of classes after weeks of silence. So inconsiderate & unpredictable. Syllabus is inaccurate. No lecture, but he claims to engage in DBs (doesn't). Somehow grades most everything on the day grades are due.
Read everything he gives you, follow his instructions for the discussion boards and essay. He's very clear in his guidelines for grading in the syllabus. I learned more than I expected to, would take Mr. Kemper again! :)
This class sucked, I was so confused by the grading at times. I would email him and he would take ages to respond. I would spend more time reading outside sources to understand the court cases as his resources were confusing at times. The essays are easy and they line up with the discussion boards. This discussion boards are so annoying. Terrible!
Did not grade anything or respond to any emails until near the end of the semester, impossible to actually see how you're doing in the course at all.
not the best teacher threw assignments at us and told us to do it, semester ends in two weeks, and he still hasn't graded a single assignment/essay, its an easy course but overall just a bad teacher not emailing back and not grading assignments.
Gives absolutely zero instruction, tosses hundreds of court cases at you and is never present in any way. Constant discussion boards and the most convoluted paper prompts I have ever seen. And gives zero feedback or grades throughout the semester. Easily the worst professor I've had across my two schools.
