Anatomy and Physio 1 is an extremely difficult course! He teaches it well and is extremely helpful. The most fair and funny too.
A&PI is a hard course & took it condensed over summer, making it even harder. He's knowledgeable & funny. Great prof! Attendance important. If u go to class, study, understand powerpoints, & put the time in, you will do well. He is always avail to help. Exam ?s come from ppts-not easy but fair. No curve, but gives bonus ?s. Text good for reference.
This teacher is awesome. He takes the time. You can ask him anything. His tests are easy reading, gives bonus questions. He is kind and considerate. The best teacher ever. Wish he taught A&P2, would definetly take him again. Highly recommended!!
Great professor, very encouraging and empathetic, kind and open. Illustrated concepts with his many experiences. If I had to do it all over again, I'd put more energy into labs than I had, and would use flash cards as well as Anatomy Coloring Book. I highly recommend Dr. Kenny
He is a very good professor. I recommend taking him... !!!
Dr. Kenny is wonderful! Very approachable. Wants to see his students do well and is very supportive. All lecture exam questions are taken from his powerpoints. Gives bonus questions on every exam. Lab was a great experience. Dr. Kenny was always right there to answer any question or lend a hand! There should be more professors like him!
Unless u have time to memorize powerpoints, do not take this class. He does not review before exams, crammed a lot of useless info into each class. Avoided answering questions since we had to rush thru lecture. No HW/extra credit or anything to help boost your grade. Grade is based on 3 exams + dept. final. On a good note, he is very nice.
Tough class. ALOT of information. Be prepared to put tons of time in for a good grade.Prof. Kenny is a great professor. VERY PROFESSIONAL. Truly an asset to the school. Doesent feel like he is weeding people out, like my BIO 132 professor!
Good Professor teaching a hard class. You NEED to study powerpoints and work hard! (it may be SCCC but its College people!) There are no reviews bc A&P is such a packed course- there is no time. Very fair. Use online study tools with textbook and his website. 3 exams, 1 Final, no homework. You will HAVE to study every week A&P will assault you!
VERY helpful professor, and has no problem taking time one on one to clarify any confusion. Admittedly he does come off a bit dry in the lecture section however I am bias because I took this class years ago so I already know most of the info. Keep up with the work, pay attention in lecture, and read, or WILL FAIL because the course is HARD!
Dr. Kenny is AMAZING!!!! we all love him so much! His summer class was great! It's a challenge to take the class over the summer but he took his time explaning everything!! we <3 Dr. Kenny and phospholipid bilayers!!!
Prof Kenny is the best professor I've had in both my college careers.Professional but endearing and approachable, this man is everything a student could hope for.Content is tough but his lectures, website and powerpoints are clear and helpful.Lots of fun stories to accompany the topics.Always available for his students. If you can take him, do so!!!!
Great professor! It was a tough class but he made it fun with his stories. Very nice of him bringing a cup cake for a birthday of a classmate.
Stick to the power points he gives and you will do fine. It is a hard class and you will need to study quite a bit, but he makes the class enjoyable. Very approachable and will work with you. Gives bonus questions on tests.
Dr. Kenny was a great teacher! The summer class was fast paced but he made sure that we were fully prepared for the final exam. We worked with power points which made studying for the class that much easier. I would highly recommend his as a teacher. Really enjoyed his class! Looking forward to taking another one of his class in the future!
Best professor I have ever had, I had e-mailed him questions on the weekend and he responded to them very quick. This is a great professor, I would highly recommend him to anyone! Very helpful whenever help is needed. If you put the effort in trying to learn the material you will, Prof. Kenny helps you not just pass, but understand the material!
Amazing Prof. Really cares about his class and his field. The course is hard but he teaches it very well. Study the material he says and follow his easy to read power-points and you will do very well. Extra credit on every test ( except final ). Nicest Prof. ever!
best teacher! not an easy class but show up to class and do the work n it will be..he wants everyone to do well and tries as much to make everythin understandable, totally recommend him!
Absolutely amazing teacher, extremely nice and personable. Power points are a great help, the course material is by no means easy but he does his best to help you learn and understand the material. You are lucky if you have him as a teacher.
Great Professor!! Very helpful. Always interested in questions from his students. Made a brutal 8 week summer class FUN. Highly recommended.
AWESOME professor! Love him, great sense of humor, very helpful, no HW but he recommended to read Tbook(any), explained the PP so well that even me English as Second Language can't measure how much I learned from this class. Dr. Kenny made 3 hours lab fly by, a lot of FUN, OMG the video LOL, I'm missing this class, specially his "Brownies Points"
Awesome professor, funny, makes class fun and interesting. If you do your work, and put effort in, you will do great in his class. He is very helpful and truly cares about the students. I would highly recommend him!
A very nice, and helpful professor. He gives review sheets before tests and practice quizzes, he also gives bonus questions on his tests. Put in effort and you will succeed. I definitely recommend him!
GREAT professor. Very helpful, wants student to succeed. Keeps things interesting in class. With effort you will do well in his class.
Dr. Kenny is the best! The course material is difficult but Dr. Kenny is ALWAYS willing to answer questions during lecture and clarify anything students are struggling with. He is extremely helpful during office hours. His sense of humor makes the class fun. Go to class, study hard, ask questions, and you will do well. Highly recommended!
He was extremely boring and just read the power points pretty much. He also goes so slow so it takes forever to get through a chapter. He is helpful in lab but expects you to stay all 3 hours. Entire grade is based on the 5 exams, 3 lecture 2 lab. Stay away if you aren't good at teaching yourself from the textbook.
Great professor. For a class that I thought was going to be very boring, he really sparked my interest. If you pay attention and review his study guides before each test, you'll do great. He made an 8 week summer class very tolerable, and I actually looked forward to going everyday. Highly recommend!
Do your self a favor and take him, i promise you wont regret it! 8 week summer class flew by for microbiology! he is willing to help anyone and wants all to do well. 4 lecture exam, lab practicals, 1 lab quiz, 1 lab report and extra credit.
Dr. Kenny is a GREAT! professor. He genuinely cares about his students and wants everyone to do well. If you pay attention in class and study his lecture and lab notes you will do great. I enjoyed his class very much.
Amazing professor! Very clear explaining everything. Very involved with his students and has a great personality. I really enjoyed this class.
Very nice and understanding professor. Tries to go into detail while going over the notes. Will answer questions as best as possible to help you understand the material. Tests are a little hard but not impossible. Did give us an extra credit assignment for up to 10 points on any test. Can't make it to class? Just email him and he'll understand.
Easy class. Take him for Bio 150. Exams are easy. You don't need the textbook.
great professor, learned a lot from lectures during class which made studying for tests a breeze. posts all power points on his website which helps when reading ahead. labs were reasonable and always paralleled our lectures, NO LAB REPORTS and practical/ tests were fair.
Straight forward, well intended, and clear teaching method plus he's aware of how dense the material is so although he doesn't give anything away, he does attempt to simplify and eliminate the irrelevant parts. He's a decent professor well versed in his subject and easy going to boot. I'd definitely recommend him.
Micro is a very hard class, but a professor like Dr. Kenny made it easier to get through. He tries to explain everything so you understand it, and gives clear examples. His grading is very fair and he respects students who are hard workers and show how bad they want to succeed. I would definitely recommend him to any student taking micro.
Made Microbiology a lot easier than expected. He is very understanding and will help you no matter what. Attending lab twice a week is very important or you will get left behind.
Very nice person. He cares about all of his students' success and tries to make the material as simple as possible. Lecture powerpoints are all on his website, and he even has practice quizzes for each test on the website, which is very helpful. I definitely recommend Professor Kenny.
Excellent Professor, fair grader and a genuinely nice person.
The best professor! Gives extra credit, is understanding, tests are straightfoward, uses Powerpoints accesible to the students before class. Took him for BIO130 & BIO244, he seriously makes tough courses so do-able.
I could not say enough good things about this professor. He is one of the best professors I've ever taken at Suffolk. He is so kind, caring, and if you study his power points you will do great on the tests. He made such an intense course feasible and interesting. I will miss him a lot!
Professor Kenny makes learning anatomy and physiology easy. He has a website with all of the power points and he also has study materials on it. However, this is a very challenging course so you have to put work in outside the class to get the grade you want.
Dr. kenny is by far one of the best professors for biology at Suffolk. He care about all his students and want all of them to succeed. He makes the material easier to understand. All you have to do is show up to class, take notes and read the powerpoint for the exams and you will do well. You won't regret taking him. 3 lecture exams, 2lab practical
Best professor at Suffolk. He is caring, approachable and wants all his students to succeed. He gives extra credit on the exams. 3 lecture exams, 2 lab practical. I'm taking for micro next semesters.
Very good professor. His exams are very fair and are mainly based off of the lecture.
Professor Kenny is such a respectable teacher. I was extremely sick with a stomach flu and he allowed me to take the final exam at a later date. He truly wants all his students to pass. This definitely wasnt the easiest class Ive ever taken but as long as you put in a decent amount of studying time youll be sure to pass his class! Overall great!
By far the best professor I have ever taken ! 3 lecture exams and 2 lab practicals, study his practice quizzes and you'll do fine !
Dr. Kenny is an amazing person, caring, approachable and easygoing. I took him for A&P1 and Bio244 got As on both classes. Hes PowerPoints is all you need to study and you will do fine. Put in the extra work if you want an A. He makes it possible. If you can take him he is awesome.
he is nerdy & funny he makes the lectures worth listening to by relating them to simple life occurrences. he's sympathetic easy going; gives practice quizzes on his personal website which correlates with the lecture slides. Follow the syllabus and study the slides & quizzes which follow up which follow every lecture. To prepare for all the 4 exam
Do yourself a favor and take Dr. Kenny for A&P1 or Micro. Dr. Kenny is an amazing, knowledgeable, caring human being. He wants all of his students to succeed and does whatever he can for us to achieve that. I took him for A&P1 and micro got A's on both. put in the work and you can do it. don't pay attention to negative comments, does are lazy ppl.
Professor Kenny was extremely caring and knowledgeable. I had a medical emergency and he was very helpful in helping me makeup missed work. Highly reccomend
Dr. Kenny is reasonable with grading but definitely makes you work for the grade you receive. He explains things thoroughly if you have a question and makes sure you understand. It is a difficult class either way but he makes It worth your while
Amazing professor! I would take him for all my bio classes. His tests are very fair and his lectures are also great! Def take him!
Professor Kenny is by far one of the greatest professors I have ever had. A&P is a difficult class so get ready to study hard but Prof Kenny made everything clear, entertaining, and concise. Do not hesitate to take him!
Dr. Kenny is absolutely amazing, lectures were interesting and PP available online. A&P I is a difficult course, but Dr. Kenny is great at making this material understandable. He wants his students to succeed and pushes them too. He makes you work for the grade, as he should considering this course is required for healthcare careers.
Dr. Kenny is a fantastic professor. Lectures are easy to follow, and he really breaks things down and makes A&P interesting. Labs are interesting and informative, and he gives the class plenty of time for independent learning during lab time. Grading is based solely on tests. Study hard, you'll be fine. Transition to online learning was excellent.
Some teachers want you to do well, others want to make the class as difficult as possible. Dr. Kenny wants this to be the make or break class to decide if you want to go into the medical field and he has no mercy. Do not expect a curve, any extra credit, or a low test dropped. Half of the class with the other lab teacher all had MUCH higher grades.
I was a 4.0 student until this semester and this teacher. During Covid most teachers were understanding of the pandemic, this teacher was not at all. If anything once we went online he said he wanted to make it more difficult; and he did! Covid was a very difficult time for me, and I sure wish I had more of an understanding teacher!
Extreme amount of work, questions handled with redirecting to look up yourself. Not extremely interesting, seems to rule with an iron fist. Difficult to engage, Seems to be out of touch. I will not be taking any more classes with this professor.
Many in the class were displeased, it feel as if the pandemic was our fault. No mercy for this semester. He insisted on make our test harder (he expressed this to class) because we had test online. Exams were timed and you could not go back to change your answer. There were 3 lecture exams, and 2 lab exams. Emailed class to not to ask for a curve
Please save your GPA and don't take him. He makes everything harder then it is.
The year was changed due to Covid and Dr. Kenny really gave his best effort and it showed. He was super helpful and understanding of everyones situation and would even go the extra mile and have in depth zoom calls so he made sure we knew what we needed to in order to succeed. Honestly an amazing teacher, he genuinely wanted us to succeed.
This is a microbiology class at a college known for having good sciences, expect not to skate through. I feel Dr. Kenny was very understanding, super thorough and caring throughout COVID. He stayed consistent with real-time online lectures and through the whole semester, always answered any questions and was open to feedback. Recommend.
Our lab class was put online in the middle of the pandemic. No one was prepared but kenny gave us options, gave us plenty of notice about exams and even modified our lab report to let us choose our own topic. It is not easy to take a lab heavy class like micro online but professor kenny made it a bit easier. But You deff need to study to pass!
Dr. Kenny is one of the best professors you can take at SCCC. I also took him for BIO130. He cares about his students. If you are willing to put in the work so is he. He has no problem re-explaining to ensure you understand the material. Tests do not have any surprises, everything that is on the tests is in the notes that he provides.
I took Professor Kenny for both Anatomy and Physiology 1 & Microbiology and he was the best professor I ever had at Suffolk. Upper level science classes are extremely difficult so you have to be ready to study and listen to his lectures but he is willing to help you in any way possible and he makes the workload very manageable. Best Professor!
Professor Kenny is an awesome Microbiology professor. His lectures were detailed but clear. I had him for lab also, and he gave great instruction there as well. There's a lot to learn, so prepare before class, make and study your flashcards, review your notes and stay on top of it all.
Dr. Kenny was amazing! I would definitely take another one of his classes. This course is not an easy course and has a lot of material. However, he gives you all the power points and tools you need to succeed. I took this class during COVID and he made the transition to virtual learning seamless.
Listen, the only way to ever fail his class is to not show up, not try, and do absolutely nothing. Thats why I wasnt able to do so well. If theres an issue TELL HIM he will work with you because all he wants is to see all of his students succeed. Great lectures, easy grader(when effort is shown),excellent professor
If you have the opportunity to take Dr. Kenny just do it!! He is an amazing professor who truly cares for all of his students. Yes you have to work for your grade, but no matter who you take for microbio or a&p 1 you are going to have to put the work in. He gives very clear and understandable notes, and wants you to succeed.
Ever since covid hit he has no remorse for his students. I definitely wouldnt recommend this professor to anyone. I have no clue how he got the rating that he did but I wish I would of listened to the bad ratings on him because those are true. Gives no curves or extra credit! Grades you on three test a final exam and three lab exams and homeworks.
Best prof evaaaa! So smart and reminds me of Bill Nye which is a plus. Honestly super caring and understanding, like a father figure
Because of the pandemic, I was forced to take this class online. I pretty much taught myself from my textbook and did not do great! He's an excellent professor and will try to help you if he can.
Hi everyone TAKE HiS CLASS, his an amazing professor very caring about his students. I recommend to study for at least 3 hours a day its a lot of information and test are HARD. Good Luck !
Dr. Kenny is caring, understanding & communicative. He is real from the start when he says this course is a challenge. You need to commit the hours, his tests are difficult. Don't just memorize the terms, study the overall concepts behind them. He offered many extra credit opportunities this semester. Nebel was awful, just collected her pay check.
This class was hard. It wasn't a horrible class though, lab was in class and lecture was online. Labs were fun though and you do learn lot. The exams were hard, you do need to study for a good grade. This professor was awesome, he was down to earth and tried to make everything interesting. 3 lecture exams, 3 lab exams and a final. STUDY!!
Prerecorded lectures will put you to sleep, he is very monotone and just reads the PowerPoints. I recommend reading them yourself and then making flash cards. Graded on 6 heavy chapters each test, there are 3 exams that consist of 50 mult choice, no homework or assignments besides labs of course, which Prof. Nebel would take forever to grade.
There aren't any quizzes but there are 2 lab exams that are just questions, and 4 tests throughout the course. If you study and put in a few hours a week to study before a test it's not bad. Study guides and practice tests! I had 3 extra credit opportunities. He's really nice and cares about us all, he's even brought treats for halloween and xmas!
He is super nice but lectures are kinda boring. There are 2 lab exams, 4 lecture exams and he dropped the lowest grade + gave out study guides. I would get 70's but also only study the day before the exam so if you put in the work it should be easy. He had bonus questions on the last couple of exams + extra credit opportunities. Would recommend!!
Amazing professor who makes challenging topics easy to understand. You must study outside of class to succeed but the professor is always available outside of class time to help. He offers extra credit to boost grades. He is quite understanding and wants all of his students to succeed. I highly recommend Professor Kenny!
Dr. Kenny is a great professor! He is always willing to hold extra help at office hours. Ive found them very useful. He works hard to ensure everyone understands the material. Ther are four lecture exams (including the final), two lab exams, and a homework/participation grade. The class can be difficult, but if you study enough you should do well.
One of the best professors Ive taken at Suffolk!! I had him during covid spring semester 2021. He made everything sooo easy and straight forward. Obviously you will have to study and do the work to get a good grade but he is super helpful and kind and genuinely wants the best for his students! DO NOT MISS OUT ON HIM
I had Dr. Kenny for BIO 150 and absolutely loved this class!! Not only is he super nice but he wants you to succeed and is willing to help the students out! It is not an easy course by any means, but if you pay attention during lectures and study hard for each exam you will do great!! (I swear by flash cards)!
I had to retake A&P 1, could not have taken it with a better professor. If you had a horrible A&P prof highly recommend dr. kenny. Friendly, easy to reach out to, knowledgeable. Will help. Very humble. Clear powerpoints, had practice qs. I have learning dis. and still made the class great and easy to understand and follow. 100/10 recommend.
Dr. Kenny is amazing!! This was my second time taking A&P 1 and he was so great! Super helpful, wants his students to succeed, and if you do the work and put in the effort you will be rewarded!! I couldn't have asked for a better professor. He is so genuine and cares about teaching. He made my experience SO much better. 10/10
Professor Kenny is really nice, and his test is not that hard. All the questions from the tests are on the power point, and all the questions are multiple choices. He provides extra credits too. If you want to get a good score, you have to put a lot of time and efforts inside. Good luck, I'm going to take his microbiology next semester.
His lectures are boring and he reads off the powerpoints, which are not very well designed. He's very caring and funny, he gives extra credit and answers questions, but if there was a better professor, I would change it in a heartbeat. He makes the labs extremely easy though, just STUDY!!!
really nice guy, very understanding and ready to help if you seek out help. if you do not then that is on you. lectures are somewhat boring he reads off PowerPoints so a lot of studying to do outside of class, lab is also kind boring but it also depends on the class I suppose, take him!!
He cares about his students! Was a pleasure to be in his class. Like any other class, JUST STUDY!
He is very sweet and listens to your needs! He is lecture heavy and powerpoint heavy. I just read through his slides and didn't use a textbook. Please put in the effort and make time to study if you want above a C in this class!!
Very nice prof, lecture is extremely hard, by hard I mean much harder than it needs to be. lecture slides are ok but slightly disorganized, he talks very slow which can be good for some. told us that this would be the hardest class we have ever taken and boy he was not kidding. I suggest this class if you are pre med, if not take a different prof.
Professor Kenny, is a Phenomenal A&P1 professor. He truly cares about his students. Has practices exams for lectures, reviews for labs, as well as gives extra credit on test exams. He also puts up pre-recored lectures that you are able to listen to at anytime. Wants you to focus on studying. I am going to take him again for Mirco
Dr. Kenny was the best science professor I've had hands down. He wants you to succeed. My grade was a reflection of my taking on too much during the semester, not at all a reflection of his teachings. Utilize his resources on brightspace (he provides many). He loves what he does and it shows. Dont be lazy. He cares, but you have to too.
I really wasn't sure about the class when i first started, I did not what to expect. It is a very hard class, but you can achieve a very high grade if you study. Study, study, study, read, read, read. Dr Kenny was very patient and caring, wish i had taken my A&P classes with him
Professor Mark Kenny is sweet and kind. He is willing to help and wants his students to do well. 100% recommended.
Amazing professor, goes through lectures and answers any questions with great attitude. Would take him again for any Biology course. Make sure you study for the lecture exams and Lab Practicals. Gives good extra credit.
Apart from being very strict with grading labs (like your graphs) and watching you like a hawk when doing the procedures, he's a great and kind professor with the lecture side of things. Very knowledgeable with bio and likes to answer questions in his lectures, and tests are very similar to his reviews. His slideshows are simple and accessible too.
Dr. Kenny is one of the best biology professors I've ever had. He provides many opportunities for students to succeed. He was easy to reach and very willing to help. As long as you pay attention, put in work, and study, you can do well. I highly recommend him!
the most negative and discouraging teachers, he starts with saying not many students will pass and that his class will be the hardest class . NO extra credit. Graded are 3 lectures and 2 labs. No study guides he tells you to memorize EVERYTHING.The class averages on the tests were in the low 60's. By the last class 12 students were left. STAY AWAY
I just started taking his class in the fall and so far he is great! Other reviews are really harsh on him instead of the material he is teaching. It's going to be hard if you wait until the last minute to study, this class is for people going into the medical field, you need to know the information!! He gives practice quizzes and shows powerpoints.
Dr. Kenny is one of the most caring professors. He truly wants everyone in the class to succeed. It is a hard class there is no doubt about it. He lets everyone know the first day that it is probably one of the hardest class, not to scare anyone but to prepare you for the test. I will be taking him for Microbiology next semester.
honest with the level of difficulty for this class which many of us appreciated. My 1st exam grade was not the best but i gradually got better. Gives bonus questions & opportunity to be better. He's very willing to answer Qs & concerns after class. If you study the slides you'll do great. He truly cares to see his students do well. will take again
Dr. Kenny is really amazing and does care about his students. The course is very difficult and he lets students know this before. If you really put in the effort you can succeed and Dr. Kenny is more than willing to help. There is no homework so constantly studying is a must. The lecture part of the course consists of 3 tests, usually no extra cred
Dr. Kenny is a great biology professor who wants students to succeed. While the material can be challenging, his lectures are informative and he's willing to help in office hours. Staying engaged, studying hard, and using tools like Unstuck study can really pay off.
Professor Kenny was very good and knowledgeable when it came to taking this class. Definitely need to study a lot to get a good grade! Reading lectures slides and memorizing was helpful for me to get through the class!
THIS PROFESSOR IS SOOOOOOO GOOD LIKE NORMALLY I HATE BIO BUT MAN DOC KENNY JUST TEACHES IT A WHOLE NEW WAY! DOC KENNY IS A BIT OLDER, BUT HE DOESNT SEEM LIKE IT, HE TEACH SO WELL, MY FAVORITE PROFESSOR AT SCCC so far!!!
If I can give one piece of advice, it would be to NOT take this professor. You're graded in lec by only 3 tests and they are HARD! My lab professor was an angel tho, LOVED HER. But now I'm retaking this class for a better grade over the summer because this professor only read off slides during lec. and was very vague when you asked questions.
he's literally the best like my lab group loved him. always gave out study guides and the practice quizzes are always on the test. he even made a kahoot for our lab class plus extra points if we did better than the last test ! i'd take him again for a&p 2 but he doesn't teach that :( only downside was lecture kinda boring but otherwise he was great
Mark Kenny is a great professor. He doesn't assign homework or extra assignments, so the tests really count. Science isn't my strong suit, but he made it digestible. To pass, take organized notes and study. He genuinely wants his students to succeed and makes the material approachable. The coursework is dense and challenging but he is not.
I tutor ppl in his a&p 1 class and am now in his micro class. His PowerPoints are superfluous do not need the textbook Includes too much clinical information that other professor will not expect you to know His a&p 1 class seems harder than micro based off slides I've seen Wouldn't recommend for a&p but micro is ok. No extra credit. Will not curve.
Even though his classes are extremely difficult particularly if you dont have a lot of free time to commit to studying for 1 class, he is extremely organized and clear with what he expects You will earn your grade and know everything and more. But, there are more lenient professors who understand that we are students learning, not microbiologists
You just need to study to get an A. Reading through the slides and understanding them will make you do well on the exams. His slides are easily readable, so if you're absent you'll have no issue catching up. He has practice exams and does kahoots for review. You just have to put in the work and you'll get an A. Lab is super fun!!
DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS. All he does it read off of the slides and doesn't actually know any of the information. If you try to ask him a question, he will answer by going " ill get back to you on that" or You will see each slide for about 30 seconds at max, witch are 3 tests, and they are hard. Don't take him if you want to pass the class first try.
