He came from LSU, so you can imagine that he is a little difficult. He's quite amusing and keeps class interesting. His assignments are difficult but he outlines everything clearly and is always willing to help. I had a great time in his class and would recommend him to anyone.

Dr. King is a very fun guy! He is so funny to and keeps the class interesting. However when it comes to work he is very serious. He expects alot out of every student. In the course there are many papers but if you just listen and follow his outline you should be ok!

Dr. King is sometimes sarcastic and can be a bit of a jerk, but if you take it with a grain of salt sometimes its funny. He is very willing to help you outside of class. I like him and I think he is a great professor.

I cant fit in here how great Dr. King is. Yes, he is hard because he expects more than high school work. He wants people to realize this is a whole new ball field. An outstanding paper will be an "A", and a paper that could use work, but was average earns a "C". Welcome to the real world of grading. He is very helpful. I enjoyed his class a lot.

Dr. King is one of the best professors that I have had at Gordon. I am actually taking him again Fall semester. I am an English major, and LOVE to write, so that may have something to do with the fact that I made an A in his class. If you LISTEN and participate, as well as do your assignments, Dr. King is very willing to help.

Dr. King is the greatest teacher I've ever had. He's kind, understanding and helpful. Most of all, he's fair. He's also a lot of fun and very smart.

If you don't care about the class, he won't care about you. If you earnestly care about learning, he will be more than glad to help you along the way. He grades hard, he grades hard, he grades hard, he grades hard, if you put forth a whole-hearted effort, you will walk out of his class a somewhat strong writer.

If you go to college just to have fun and think you can miss some classes, then don't take his english class. This guy is no joke and he is the epiphany of DIFFICULT. If you want a challenge and one of the best English teachers to date, then take his class. Otherwise, I would recommend Mr. Whitlock.

Dr. King is not an easy professor. He expects a lot out of you. He also expects you to write like a college student. Although he is hard, he is willing to help you any time you need it. All you have to do is go to his office hours. DO NOT get this class if all you are looking for an easy A, but do however if you are looking to LEARN.

I absolutely loved this class. It isn't exactly easy, but the learning experience you get from it is well worth your time. READ ALL THE NEW YORK TIMES ARTICLES!!! NO! This class is a huge waste of your life. He is a really neat guy if you get on his good side, but the class was way too hard. Every day you have to read the New York Times. Every essay is UNDERgraded, he tells you to write what you think you deserve just so he can throw it back in your face and make fun of you. NO! Don't take him.

Review from my hardest work on an essay. grade: 70! Everything you say, HE ARGUES! So both you and the poor folk you so seem to despise are living on handouts, right? (By the way, this college that you attend is HEAVILY subsidized by government funds, so actually YOU?RE one of those people living on government assistance.)

After taking him for ENGL 1102, I decided to take a course with him during the summer. That one turned out to be GREAT as well. He is a great professor, who requires you to work for your grade instead of just having it handed to you. If you are not up to work do not take his class. For those who do, it is an enjoyable learning experience.

I loved Dr. King's class. I was terrified at first to take him because of his reviews but he is awesome. He is tough and his work is strenuous but once the semester is over and you survived you feel GREAT. Just be sure to read the NYTimes. I would take his class again in a heartbeat.

I took Dr. King 4 years ago, if you come to class prepared, listen, do what he asks of you and act like an adult you will do fine in his class... He is very caring, will do what he can to help you if you ask for it. I really enjoyed his class and would take it again in a second and I'm defintely not an English lover!

Dr. King is a great professor! His class is challenging, as a college class should very well be and he expects you to act like the adult that you are. You learn a lot and Dr. King will gladly help students who go to his office hours and take his class seriously. Took him for both semesters and loved him. My writing improved tremendously.

I took Dr. King in the spring and was deeply impressed. He comes off as a smart a$$ but is very knowledgable. His methods remove the children from a class making the environment alot easier to learn in. A great professor.

Dr. King doesn't ask for much of the class. No cell phones, don't come in late bc he will tell you to leave and read the New York Times everyday. You don't have much h.w. but the papers are weighted heavily so if you do good on them(remember it's college lvl writting) you'll do great! He's pretty funny once the slackers get weeded out.

Im not ashamed to admit that I took Dr. King's class 2 semesters in a row and failed both times. The failure was 100% my fault; I was young and never attended the class. The reason I came back was because of how completely impressed I was with Dr. King. EXCELLENT teaching. If you care about your education TAKE DR. KING. He is one of a select few

The best Literature professor ever. He knows the subject and knows how to teach it. His class is not hard if you do the work, do the reading, do the writing, and come to class. I feel very sorry for the people who say his class is hard because he is teaching at college level. If you think his class is hard you should not be in college.

I am an A/B student, and I dropped his class. I felt like I couldn't connect with his teaching style. He makes you read the New York Times and your quizzes come from there. I did all the reading and still made bad grades on quizzes. I felt like there were easier ways to earn the class credits. It's English! Shouldn't be that complicated!

Dr. King is my absolute favorite teacher, hands down, no contest. It wasn't an easy class, but if you read the material, and study regularly, then you should be fine. I took him for British Lit. I, and passed with an A. I've heard he's 'mean' in other classes, but that's because he wants to teach students that care for the course.

He is one of those teachrs that will help you with anything, as long as you showw him that you are intrestead in his help. He has great expectations of his students.

I find it positively hilarious that the people who didn't enjoy his ENGLISH class cannot use proper ENGLISH. They are very biased towards him because they suck at ENGLISH. Don't let them scare you away. He is amazing. Very nice. Very honest so don't get offended easily. It dos not mean he doesn't like you. Give him a chance.

Dr. King is a fantastic teacher to take. He wants the best for his students. He requires you to show up for class and read seriously. To pass a college level class, you must show up to the class! I love this teacher and will definitely take him again. I would recommend him to everyone.

He is very open with his office hours, and his work will sometimes make you nervous but King will always give you a opportunity to raise your grade ex: grade is 65 on a paper he give you time to fix your grammar mistakes that he point out to u and raise the grade 75

He's a funny and good teacher, but 50% of your grade is put on two assignments. I hated that, especially b/c he grades tough!!! Honestly, I wouldn't suggest taking him unless you're an English major.

He doesn't hand you a grade. You don't work, you don't pass. Best true college professor Gordon has. Taking him again.

He is clear and loud. Makes you work for your grade. For humanities he isn't hard if you don't miss class and you take good notes. He knows what he is doing. Don't take for English unless your a strong writer and really interested in the background.

If you dont want to read a lot, go elsewhere. If you dont mind spending at least an hour or two a day reading, youll do great. Hes super sarcastic and can be condescending, but he really wants you to do well and will help you as much as you need outside of class. Read. Not cliffs notes or shmoop. Read all texts. Its a lot, but its interesting

Show up , do your work and his class will be a breeze. Don't put things off in his class or it will catch up with you, and not in a good way. Overall he's a great teacher.

If you want to pass his class, attendance is mandatory. Be prepared to have your papers graded harshly!!!! I learned a lot in his class, but I worked for my grade. It is definitely the hardest English class I've ever taken.

I love the way he instructs and grades for English 1102! Your overall grade is based solely on papers and weekly quizzes, but he gives so many second chances, great feedback, and definitely wiggle room for due dates. Its very important than you stay on top of your own work & put some actual effort into that work. Hes also so friendly & funny!
