this class is pretty much group work...due to the fact that you are going to be a teacher. he is very helpful with any questions you have though. i learned a lot from this course and would recommend him to anyone. attendance is mandatory if you dont want to be lost in his class. he gives great reviews for his tests...and the tests follow the review
This class and teacher should be available to all students in high school. I understand so much math now that I never understood before. I highly recommend you take him, he will help and make sure you understand. This teacher helped a lot, I have never fully understood math and yet I got a 274 on my THEA thanks to him. Take this class.
Good lectures, goes over homework, pleasant, is available after class for questions, exams follow precisely questions in textbook
Without a doubt, this professor is one of the best in the math department. I've personally dealt with a lot of anguish with the math teachers here but this guy is the real deal. Makes sure students understand material, and is an incredibly understanding individual. Highly recommended.
He is helpful and gives good exam reviews. This class is mostly group work but it really you think when you do those write-ups reflection sheets. He is available after class if you have any questions.
Great teacher...willing to help but really encourages you to discover new concepts yourself.
Nice, helpful, fair in grading. Attendance is mandatory. Class challenges you but is worth it. Plus he looks like Leonardo Dicaprio ;) Definitely recommend him.
i absolutely love him plus it doesnt hurt that he is fine lol after this class he wont be my teacher anymore so he should give me a call lol but hes a great teacher
Possibly one of the best professors I have ever seen. He really goes the extra mile. If other professors could learn from him the Math Department would be a better place.
I took 1330 w him as well. He is a great professor. Extremely helpful, keeps things interesting, work can be hard but w teamwork & his help you find that you can actually pull through. I did & hate Geometry. If you're not great at math, take his class- that was me. He helps outside of class during office hrs as well. He's very nice & fun also. =)
He is adorable. That should be enough motivation to go to class. The class itself is pretty awesome. It is challenging in a wonderful way. He will let you know what to study for and the book is online so there isn't one to buy! I loved this teacher and I believe that everyone should take his class.
Great professor! He puts you in groups and gives you a problem to work on in your groups and goes around to helps you if you're having trouble. great class, you really learn a lot! there's some writing but not too much. Plus he's super cute, so you'll always be looking forward to class ;)
He's a good professor. You must attend class & stay the whole class as there is an attendance grade. You need to attend class to pass. The material can be tricky & you need to understand it well in order to be able to write a paper over it. Have him go over your papers before you turn them in & you'll get an A. His tests reviews prepare you well.
This is my 2nd sem. with him, & I love that I was able to get in his class again. I am terrible at math, but he really helps explain stuff & will meet with you 1- on- 1 to make sure you do great on the HW papers. I still haven't mastered his tests yet, but I'm definitely learning more from him than previous math teachers. Oh, & yes, he's way cute.
I have only had him for a month, but I have learned SOOO much more with him than I did when I took calculus in high school last year. I definitely recommend anyone taking calculus for the first time to take Krasij.
This class is all group work. You don't have to purchase a textbook. Mr. Krasij is helpful and friendly. He's also really hot, which is nice. There is hardly any homework, 4 major papers and 5 minor ones...that is all the homework for the whole semester. I'd recommend this teacher.
He is by far the best math professor that I have ever had. You don't have to buy a textbook, but there is a workbook that you get from birds copies for around $11. That is a MUST! He is very helpful and literally as cute as a button. He is a stickler for attendance and group participation. Just try your best and he will notice!
I've definitely learned a lot in this class. He's very active with his students and trying to see each students way of thinking when it comes to labs. He's really cute and hot so that's a bonus. He speaks at a student's level to make sure the student gets a better understanding. He gives a lot of helpful reviews with keys to review for the exams :)
Doesn't always reply to emails when answer is no, but very willing to jump over the moon to help with homework. Tells jokes and smiles a lot. Super cute and sweet. I learned so much more than I thought possible since I failed calculus in high school. Go to class/lab and ask questions. Homework is a must.
He does not do anything online. He is available in his office, but knock if the door is closed. He doesn't explain how to do the work or review that everyone understood it, he simply relies on you to understand in your group. His exams are complicated, and no partial credit is given. If you are great at math take him, if you are not then don't.
As far as math professors go he is good. The expectations are clear and the material is available. The class itself is difficult though, unless you already know it all. Prepare to put in tons of time studying if you want to make an A. (like most math classes). If you know the material and do the homework you can skip class.
Does his best to cover all the material and explain it thoroughly. Works through old exams before midterms which was really helpful. Nice guy, tries to get students to really understand the problems. Tests are departmental and homework is through webassign.
As far as Calculus professors go, Krasij is pretty good. As far as math at UTA goes, there's probably not a lot more you could ask for. He spends quite a bit of time on examples after going over the concepts and he knows what he's doing. Not super helpful in the lab but that doesn't account for much of your grade anyway.
Cal 1 is hard but Professor Krasij did his best to make it more simple. He goes very fast and is tough grader but it's not his fault. Rule from the Math dept! Take him, he is nice and can help if you need! Just study, and you will pass!
Krasij is a very smart and knowledgeable teacher and he goes through each topic pretty thoroughly. There are a lot of topics for Cal 1 so the class moves a little fast but its manageable. Do the online homework and do practice problems and you'll get an A!
Dr. Krasij is a great teacher. He's always willing to explain answers if students are confused. He can be funny at times too. Lectures are kinda long and packed with information, but he gives good examples. His notes are good and the examples help you with the homework and the tests. Cal 1 isn't easy, but if you put in the effort you can pass.
Calculus is undoubtedly a tough subject but his way of teaching makes it a bit easier. Classes are fun with the occasional jokes/pun. You will need to work hard. Gives occasional extra credit but that won't make too much of a difference. Wonderful teacher. Would definitely take him again as he is the best prof. for cal 1 in the university.
I took him for CALC1 and it really seemed like he desperately wants you guys to pass. He helps a lot, his lecture is not boring (im not saying he makes funny jokes, but in class material) He knows what he is teaching. One thing I didn't like about him was his voice. It's OK, but his voice is kinda small so you may have to sit front to hear him.
Honestly, very attractive, couldn't concentrate most of the time. However, hes a good professor hes very clear and is always willing to help with a charming smile. He really gets into the math as he is so knowledgeable about it. Not a ton of write ups so thats good. Gives good reviews for both tests. Take him, you'll never want to skip class.
His test are basically his review which is the examples he does in class. Super easy if you practice. He is very nice to look at so that's a plus.
He is good at teaching and he really strives to help people out. As long as you truely understand the material from the book and solve the review questions he give out, we will at least get B. He is also handsome though.
Professor Krasij teaches calculus very well, and understands the subject exceptionally well. He goes through many problems in class that are sometimes similar to the exams the department gives. Exams are the worst, but it is departmental, but he tries his best to prepare you for it. Only thing that you should be aware of is that he speaks very low.
His lectures are very long and leave your brain fried. It helped me to do online homework in lieu of listening to him talk. I fell asleep very easily to his soft voice. His nails distracted me. Labs are helpful. Exams are always more difficult than reviews. Do your homework, don't miss lab, and study. You'll pass. An "A" is a different story...
If you want a good instructor to teach you pre-cal, look elsewhere. Feels the need to skim over rules and important methods by jumping into examples before an explanation. If he doesn't like the way the book words something he won't figure out rewording for it, you'll have to figure it out from an example. Tests are dept. set and hard. Lots of hw.
Departmental tests are one thing, but a teacher who can't explain concepts in lab PLUS his quiet voice equails FAILURE! Take from Dr. Glass!!
Very soft talker so I had trouble staying awake in class. He seemed to know the subject matter inside and out, just isn't the best at connecting with the class. I won't avoid his classes in the future but I don't think I will rearrange my schedule just to get in his class either.
He's really good at explaining things and shows lots of examples in his lectures to make sure you understand. The only bad thing is that he is a very soft speaker so its hard to hear if you sit at the back.
Look, if you've never been introduced to Pre-cal before, this course will be difficult for you. It's not that Mr. Krasij is a bad teacher, but the pre-cal professors are required to fit two semesters into one so. If I were you, I'd take Krasij just because there is no language barrier. Be prepared to do HW, and take daily trips to the math clinic.
His lecture was clear and helpful in preparing for the exam. The classroom was unsuitable though for such a big class. There was lots of homework but it helps you memorize the concepts. He is a good professor but you have to put effort in too in order to get a good grade. I will take him again.
Yes, take this teacher, definitely show up to class. There's no need to buy a textbook for this class; do NOT miss a single day of lecture notes because the tests are straight from the lecture examples. Sit in the front because he's quiet. Make sure to review your lecture notes, you'll do fine! (Keep up with homework! Study using lecture EX & HW )
i was deceived by high score and took this guy for precal and regretted it a lot! He is absolutely nice and caring but his teaching style is trash. He does not explain concepts, he just does a bunch of examples and hopes you get it. He always uses a pen on projected paper and and can get messy when he makes mistakes cause he crosses stuff out.
Krasij cares about the material, and gives the disclaimer that there's way too much material to cover in one semester. He frequently says to plow through the homework (and there's lots of it. Online though.) More than anything his lectures consist of him writing practice problems in pen and scribbling mistakes out, which get confusing. Good curve!
Krasij is a nice guy, but that doesn't make him a good teacher! The good news is that he's the one that makes the actual tests, so his examples in class pretty much replicate the test in some way (not 100% tho)! Big problem is that if you really want to LEARN calc, than take someone else! If you understand math, than you'll understand his examples!
Grading is way too hard than it should be.
He's very good, attend all lectures and write down notes and examples, they help a lot, the exams are departmental but he writes them so you get his version of the lecture is the exam, very nice guy, very knowledgable in mathmetics, grading is tough but it's departmental so everyone gets the same grades, take him for an A
He is a great professor in this section and would definitely take again to learn the material. He is a tough grader but study well and you can get an A
If you pay attention to the lectures and ask questions when you have them, passing is easy. He explains things very well and goes over lots of examples. The best math professor I've ever had
Great professor. Will absolutely try to take his sections any time I can from now on. Don't miss any classes. You only need to buy the textbook for access to the homework. Easy-going, good at explaining the logic behind calculus, clear, nice guy overall.
Very good professor. His lectures are very calming. Gives the best examples in class and his notes are very very easy to follow. He's a really nice guy. Always ready to answer any question. And he really helps in the lab as well, so don't miss it! Thanks for everything Mr. Krasij, Im only getting an A in this class because of you!
Hes is easy to understand if youre math minded. I found the midterm very easy. He really makes you think about the concept and wont give a yes or no answer. He will go over it at the end by showing how to get the answer, and why. Sometimes he can be sarcastic, so dont take it personal. You cant have phone out and can only miss 3 classes.
Takes attendance everyday. Work in groups that you don't pick. Doesn't use blackboard. Only 4 write-ups, midterm, and final.
Krasij was great at teaching Cal 1. He really knows his material and often showed proofs to each law/rule to solidify conceptual knowledge. He cares about those who want to learn (aka tell people to quiet down if too loud). My only minor gripe was that hes a lefty so you cant see what he wrote until after he moves his hand. DONT fall behind in HW.
Great professor and a really nice guy. He makes Calc 1 easy to learn. He also writes the exams and goes over the type of problems you see which is very helpful. Take him if you can
Best prof. for Calc 1. I think he's the head of the math dept. so he knows the tests and tells you exactly what will be on them. Study old exams and go to class bc he gives you a ton of info. Really thorough and organized, super legible handwriting. I've never worked harder in my life, but it wasn't so bad bc of him. His class got the best scores.
Best Math Professor I have ever taken. Makes you learn in a fun easy way that you might have never before. Attendance doesn't matter. Easy grader. Gave me full credit in a question in which I had done a little mistake. So much friendly .
He explains things well but assigns homework after every lecture. He is very helpful when you ask questions and is caring. There are quizzes in the math lab but they are helpful. His lectures don't require attendance but its very helpful if you go.
I really thought that he was a good professor because he explains stuff really well and does a TON of examples which is nice.
The first time I took calc 1 I dropped it because the professor was terrible but Mark explains everything thoroughly and is easy to understand, he encourages you to ask questions and gladly answers them each time. The lab quizzes aren't bad, the homework is easy and the 3 tests are easy to study for with the labs, homework and previous exam guides
Prof Krasij is the absolute best math professor i have ever had. He teaches very clearly and is known to be the best calculus professor you can get. I wouldnt want to take a calculus class with any other prof!
Calculus is not an easy class but Professor Krasij thoroughly explains the concepts. He spends the majority of lecture doing examples after introducing a new concept which is very helpful. HW is online and due on the day of the test. The tests are relatively short but hard. Lab was easy and so were quizzes. Show up to class though and do the HW!
I believe he either writes or help write the departmental tests so consider taking him! Make sure to complete MyMathLab. The professor is soft-spoken imo so consider sitting towards the front of the class to hear him. Lectures do go by very fast... Negative is that he doesn't respond to emails, which sucks when things get urgent.
He is the best professor at UTA for cal 1. He explains concepts and does example problems. He writes down every lectures in class so make sure you write them down. He tells you how to prepare for exams and gives old exam to study for midterms and finals. Do HW , go to class everyday, you will be fine. His sections have the best avg. exam scores.
This a calculus class so it's going to be hard for those who are not good at math. The professor is good at explaining but his voice is hard to hear and will make you sleepy. Note are Key to passing. His tests derive from the homework and test are 80 percent of your grade. Do the homework ahead of time. Review the homework not the past tests!
Theres three exams therefore the majority of your grade is going to determined there. There is a lot of homework. Go to class, he introduces the concept, does 3-4 examples and sometimes explains the theory behind it. He is a VERY good lecturer. Lab is tedious, study before it. The math clinic is a GODSEND, use it, even for homework.
I'm bad at math in general but Krasij is probably one of the only good professors. Sit near the front because he is very quiet sometimes and it's easy to lose focus. That being said, his examples are very clear and he is always glad to answer any questions. Attendance isn't mandatory but you should show up.
Prof Krasij is literally the best calculus professor at the university. He's incredibly intelligent, and cares about the students and their grasp of the material. Attendance was mandatory because lectures weren't recorded, but he made something as boring as calculus 1 tolerable. He's also involved in the lab, and always available for questions.
The best math teacher I ever had. Makes calculus very easy to understand. The class is fast paced by nature and there is lots of homework. You MUST do the work and study outside of class if you want an A. Overall, he helps you with all your questions and wants you to succeed!
Prof. Krasij gives you the tools you need in order to do well in his class! He reflects the effort you put into the class. He's the best math teacher i've ever had. He is a little quiet so sit in the front! Do all the reviews because the math exams are structured the same way every semester. Try to keep up the homework but priorities exams!
Took him for one of my math education courses. You will want to sit in the front because he is very quiet. I only looked at the book once other then that no. He didn't give us any homework. Also you have to keep up with your exam grades yourself because he only inputed one of the three exam grades into canvas. Also the paper is simple.
Best Calc 1 professor at UTA I had to drop calc the first time I took it because of my previous professor which had no Idea what they were teaching. I really enjoyed all of his lectures and how he gives lots of examples for every topic. I also managed to get a B this semester as long as you do all the hw and pay attention you should be fine.
He is a great lecturer and the problems that he goes over in class is very representative of actual exam problems. Don't skip, his attendance was extra credit (when I took him). He explains everything very well and I had no problem taking calc 1.
I took cal I back in high school but decided to retake it for my first year. Professor Krasij definitely has a passion for teaching and he is very understanding. They will usually go over the quizzes before you take them and exams are very similar to his reviews.
I liked him as a professor, but the test were very different from what we learned in class which made them difficult.
he was really nice and pretty lenient on due dates, bc of covid it was a hybrid class. he explained things very well and was always available to help after class if you didn't understand something. great teacher! few write ups, 2 exams, midterm and final. pay attention to the review he does before exams. almost the exact same test.
Very good at teaching as long as you go to class and did the reviews for tests you are good to get a decent grade in the course.
I dropped my semester of Calculus 1 the first time I took it and switched over to Krasij for Cal 1 the following semester. I have to say this man is an amazing professor who really makes sure you understand the material and goes at a pace that any student can keep up with. His lectures are very practice heavy after he teaches the basics.
As someone terrible at math, Professor Krasij made it bearable! He explains the material in great detail and provides tons of examples. He truly wants his students to succeed. One thing I will note is that this course is heavy. Studying and practicing the materials is key to passing. Do not skip/fall behind; it is hard to catch back up!
Excellent professor. His lectures always goes into great detail, and he provides good example questions. Homeworks and labs can defo take a lot of time and effort though. Defo have to put a lot into this class. As for exams, the reviews he gives out are old exams, so theyre very good study material. He speaks softly so sit in the front
Mr. Krasijs lectures were mostly example problems, which looked fairly similar to exam questions. He also gave old exams as reviews which was really helpful. Very helpful and nice. Exams are not difficult as long as you go over all the example problems in the notes and the old exams.
Honestly, one of the BEST math professors I have taken. Although the class is a bit challenging, he is very helpful and answers questions that students have. I love his teaching style because he not only explains the concepts very clearly but works each problem with details. I would take him again for other math classes if he was teaching it.
By the end of every lecture, I am totally lost. I have had to watch youtube videos to teach myself after every class. This class is for middle school science/math teachers and he teaches as though we already know calculus. Skips steps and moves very quickly. Paper at the end of the semester is what is keeping me at a B, which kills my math gpa.
Lectures are useful
It's calculus at UTA (meaning: there's no way around the heavy load of homework and the course difficulty). Stay caught up! Don't procrastinate. He gives everything you need for exams (previous exams, sample questions etc.). Review sessions before all exams are VERY important. Explains well in detail. His section fills up very fast (no wonder).
Calculus is not easy at all, but Mark tries his best to explain how to solve problems and the idea/concepts behind those problems. The best study resource would be to master old exams, if you can figure out how to solve every problem then you should do great on the midterms. There is review sessions a day before exams that are useful as well.
He is very good at teaching Cal 1, wish I couldve taken him for Cal 2
I am not a math person but I actually really enjoyed Calc. I would def recommend PLTL to supplement this class btw. Krasij is a great professor. He really cares about his students and tries to help everyone in lab. This class isn't easy but study hard and do practice probs. It is rewarding. Also there is usually a curve at the end of the semester
Professor Krasij is really focused on explaining the concept, unlike some professors who just teach you the steps to solve problems. He uses Desmos very often which helps visualize and absorb the subject matters better. You will do great if you attend his lectures regularly. Only thing that I didn't like about the course is the amount of homework.
Great professor! He is really good at what he does and is a really engaging professor. Although calculus may be hard, he tries his best to explain things in a way that makes sense. You don't have to read the textbooks to succeed; lectures are great. One complaint I have is that he is kinda quiet, so you should always have an active ear.
Having already taken and passed the Calculus AB exam, Calculus 1 by Professor Krasij was taught surprisingly well. If you pay attention in class and complete his homework assignments, the content should be relatively easy to understand. One bad thing about this professor is his soft voice. Don't take him if you already have hearing problems.
His lectures are easy to follow, and he covers plenty of examples, making them easier to understand. The class becomes easier if you come in with previous knowledge of calculus. However, when there was a small conflict between a group member in my lab group, he did not do much to help the situation.
Professor Krasij is a nice professor and clearly knows what hes talking about in class HOWEVER beware because he is extremely softspoken so be aware of that, this class consist of weekly homework assignments, a lab at the start of the week and a quiz on the end of the week thats worth 3 precent of your final grade for all of them. Study for exams!
You must keep up and study, there is plenty of homework to practice what you learn in lecture but this alone will not get you through the tests. Take ALL practice exams provided and master each of them if you want to get an A. Professor explains well, accessible outside of class and shows his commitment to helping you learn!
He is good professor, nice and soft. He explains everything carefully and makes it easy to understand. All you need is self-studying enough to good at materials so that you can pass the departmental exams.
Professor Krasij explains concepts thoroughly to ensure that you understand topics. He draws many graphs on the board and uses many examples to help you conceptualize what he is teaching. Not to mention, he also answers questions very well. I think he's great for visual learners!
Absolutely love Prof. Krasij!! He makes Calc1 really fun to learn and easy to understand. He's super nice and patient, and his office hr is also a great resource. Wish him could teach calc2
Mark is okay. Calc 1 is just really hard but he assumes everyone is on the same page and doesn't go over past material so you kinda are expected to know your math. Sometimes hes a bit confusing but overall pretty good. Watch some videos though because its easy to get lost/bored during lecture. Labs suck!!
He was an overall good professor for Calculus 1 he gave lectures that were overall good and easy enough to follow although if you start getting lost it does get a bit hard to begin to catch up
If you pay attention in the class and do the homework, you'll be fine. The calculus for teacher is hard but manageable. The professor will try everything to help you.
Attend class and take notes, and you will do fine. Do the practice exams too. He makes an effort to help us understand the material, and he teaches each concept clearly and thoroughly.
Professor Krasij is extremely helpful. He's kind and helps students anytime they have questions and will patiently explain. to do well in the class make sure to do all the homework given online, the labs, go to all the lectures, and do well on quizzes. Each of these things build up and can really help boost your grade if done well. small curve!!
Mark went at a steady pace during lectures and always welcomed questions. If you do have a question, try to be really specific, otherwise he probably won't answer exactly what you may be asking. He was super nice and always came to class with a pleasant attitude. Make sure to study the practice exams. The last exam was kind of hard, so be prepared.
Prof. Krasij makes Calc 1 enjoyable and understandable, with great visuals and examples. Though soft-spoken, his lectures are worth attending. Unstuck study is a helpful study tool too.
Calc 1 is as easy as it gets with Prof Krasij. He's currently working on being less monotonic. Other than that, his lectures are very clear. Be clear if you want to ask questions during class, otherwise he's always available for office hours. He's also not afraid to publicly call you out if you cheat. Just saying.
BEST CALC 1 PROF EVER! took him over the summer and he's such a nice guy and cares about his students. will answer all your silly questions anytime and explains lecture material really well to make sure you understand it. i wish i could take all my math classes w/ him. TAKE HIM FOR CALC!
feels like i taught myself 80% of the material homework due pretty much every other day (knewton alta. if things got rough id be sitting there for an hour to work through like 4 problems max and id get all of them wrong cause i forgot a sign or a square) quizzes every week im so cooked
When asked questions he wont really help you, just answer you back with another question. Didnt bother to fix his microphone the entire semester resulting in very quiet speaking during lecture. And snapped at a student and removed her honors project because she was explaining to another student something during the lecture
He's a nice guy and clearly passionate about his job. He writes quickly, so note-taking can feel very rushed. Not good at answering questions. If you like a simple screen lecture style, his class works. I wish the teaching were more engaging. Don't expect any extra credit, and quizzes are only 1–3 questions, so one mistake can make you fail them.
