Do not take this guy. He does not explain and always talks about stories he had when he used to work. He could care less about us. Take a full time faculty member...he is adjunct and inexperienced.
Avoid this teacher at all costs. He does whatever Diane Tanner tells him to do. He tries to be too hip. He does not understand time management. All of the other classes let you use a cheat sheet, he doesn't. Basically, a waste of your time. And he doesn't care if you fail or succeed.
THis guy thinks he knows so much about business but he is so hard. He makes you use clickers on the exams and you don't have enough time to complete them. impossible to pass.
If you are wanting to comprhend accounting you might as well teach yourself or as he recomends go to ACE. Loves to use the term sexy when referring to accounting and jokes about divorce very unethical. Very arrogant when you go talk with him in his office. Doesn't care if you have to go through the class again. Seems to have a chip on his shoulder
Worst professor. he thinks he can teach just because he worked for 20 years in accounting. take this guy if you want to spend hours in the textbook trying to learn. His ridiculous tests are not passable. Beware!
This professor is awesome. I don't know what all the other people that rated him were doing but Leininger is the best professor I have ever had. I got an A on every test because he is a great teacher and I learned a lot from him. I would definitely recommend him as a professor for ACG 2021.
I have taken accounting with many other professors and no one else makes it easier to understand but him! If you read and do the homework you will do just fine! He's funny and tries to make the class interesting. For a person that is not a business major, i enjoyed having him as a professor.
Awesome professor! He does tons of examples to help you understand the material. Holds study sessions twice a week. Really cares about the students understanding of the material. Go to class & do hw & you will do fine! (coming from a non business major)
This guy is awesome. If you think he's tough, take the class with Dr. Jones and you'll realize you were wrong. He is extremely helpful and spends his time hosting a review period for the class which is super helpful. I wish i took the class with him instead....
If you want to teach yourself, take this guy. he is confusing and makes too many mistakes in explaining. he thinks he is great. If you are one of his pets, you might do well. Very degrading.
This guy is awesome. He's completely down to earth and goes above and beyond to help his students achieve success! The work is hard - but, it's accounting. He is excellent at what he does.
He is the greatest professor ever!!! If you can take him for any class I definitely recommend it. He is always willing to help you learn the material. He will come in on Sunday and Wednesday nights and help you study if you need him to. The tests are based on the material he teaches and he explains things very clearly.
The guy has an enormous EGO, but he does know what he's talking about. Goes over the powerpoints, but you need to read the book too if you want to do well. Tests are very difficult, with one being online. This is the hardest one, so make sure not to underestimate it!
Amazing professor. Yes, the material can get difficult and the class requires effort and time but he makes his best effort to aid students. He makes 2-3 review sessions before each exam, does problems in class very similar to exam material. Go to class, read the chapters and do the homework and you will be fine. Best Inter. Acg I professor for sure
Good teacher, fun class, but he pretend to care more about you than what he actually does. If you do all the homework, and read all the chapters, you'll do good on the test. You will learn a lot from him, very smart and clever.
Very tough class. Be prepared to teach yourself!
EXTREMLY difficult class; it?s the ?weed out class?. Very knowledgeable Prof., but spreads himself to thin w/ all the review sessions; basically he doesn?t have much office time for his students. 4 exams (4th is final), 6 online quizzes (drops lowest). 1 portfolio, 1 computer project, 1 writing assignment (essay).
Not an easy class. Be prepared to spend a ton of time, had a computer project for 8 weeks that took 4-7 hours each week to complete. Exams were not easy, and the final was cumulative. He only takes attendence occasionally and will drop your lowest quiz grade. Grade is based on 3 tests + final, 4 quizzes, computer project and attendence.
He really knows the material. Very smart, but he doesn't care much about students. He play as he does, but not really. The class is hard, but he make it more easy and fun. Be ready to work really hard in this class, from the beginning. All the points counts and you'll need them at the end. I learn a lot from him.
Great professor. He gives extra review sessions before exams even on Sundays. The class is hard but he makes it as fun as possible for an accounting class.
Leininger was a great professor. This class is very difficult, but doable. If you put the effort in, you can get a good grade. Do the HW!
This class is very difficult but can be completed successfully with hard work. I mean alot of time in the library. This class will make you change your study habits for the best. He is a great professor.
I love Dr. Leininger. You will too. I wish everyone could enjoy accounting like I did in this class. People say it's the "weed out" class. I say it's the "putting down your roots" class. Accounting For The Win!!! Ps. "cool beans" went out YEARS ago ;)
I thought professor Leininger was great! It is no small feat to make an accounting class enjoyable but he definitely tries to keep it interesting. The class is definitely very labor intensive but if you read everything and do the suggested hw, you should do fine.
The course may be difficult, but you will not find a better teacher. Very helpful, has out of class review sessions, loves teaching, great teacher.
Best accounting professor I've ever had. Try to take him if possible. His lectures make it so much easier to pass the tests.
Dificult teacher and grades too tough. He insults many students. Does not explain and expects you to learn on your own.
while some say he is easy, you don't learn anything and the courses you mst take after this are much more difficult as he does not teach you what you need to know. Beware
Best accounting teacher ever. If you didn't do well in his class it's probably because you're lazy. He's the best!!!!
He was a very helpful professor. If you do the homework and work outside of class you will learn what you need to learn but he's not going to baby you and he grades fairly tough.
Great professor! I wish he taught all accounting classes!
Leininger is the BEST accounting professor. He explains things over and over until the class understands. The HW is only graded on completion on accuracy but it helps to study for tests! Attendance is counted but even if it was not you have to go to this class to pass. Every accounting class is hard but he makes it MUCH easier!
Great teacher. He loves teaching and it shows. He makes himself available and even gives review sessions on his own time. If you show up to class, read the chapters, and practice the homework assignments you will do well in the class. I wish he taught all the accounting classes!
Prof. Leininger is an enthusiastic teacher who does everything he can to help students learn accounting. He is not the easiest teacher, but he is mostly fair, and gives you what you need to succeed. He is a little corny, but he is very engaging.
He thinks he knows so much, but even though you might like his style he doesn't teach what you need for the next classes in business. he is ofen rude and puts people down when they don't know the answer. avoid him at all costs.
BEST ACCOUNTING TEACHER AT UNF. This was my second time taking the class and he actually made it bearable. I understood accounting a thousand times better then any professor has taught me at this school. DEFINITELY take him :)
Do yourself a favor and take him
best accounting teacher, hands down. he's an awesome person and an amazing teacher. definitely first choice when choosing an accounting teacher
WONDERFUL! Best accounting teacher at UNF. Makes silly jokes, but most important- he CARES about his students. Very encouraging and makes accounting easier to understand!
This guy is arragant and thinks he knows alot. He does not explain well and makes you do uneeded homework he never collects. Take someone else if you want to learn.
Professor leininger was a great teacher. He was always looking to help and make sure that the students understood the material. Great teacher!
Great professor. Easy to understand and very helpful. He makes accounting so much fun. His class was literally the highlight of the day. I truly recommend taking him any chance you get.
AMAZING professor! Class is mandatory, but you don't want to skip class. The subject matter is hard, but tells you EXACTLY what is on the exam and holds review sessions before the exams. Show up, do the homework, and you shouldn't get below a C.
Claimed to be there for the students yet rarely was. Review sessions were a joke! Only did same probs we already had the answers to. Teaching was not reflected on the tests. Be prepared to teach yourself! Text book was awful! Put more hours into one class than I did in 3 others. Made fun of students for not understanding. Beware!
Great professor. Passionate about the material and cares about students. Very funny guy, made a conscious effort to make the class enjoyable, while still helping students get the material down. I would take him again any day.
Amazing professor. Made the subject material very interesting. Because of his class I switched my major to accounting and couldn't be happier. Very good at explaining the material and willing to help outside of class. Do the homework online and in the book and actually read the book(wow that's an interesting concept) and you'll do fine.
Professor Leininger is a wonderful accounting professor and I look forward to taking other courses with him. He loves what he does and cares that the students do well. He even postponed our 1st test by a class period because he felt some of the students weren't grasping the content. He's funny and very helpful. Take him!!
Dr. Leininger is a great professor and he knows his topics well, but the exams are hard. Read the questions carefully!!! Study HARD for the first exam, or it will catch you off guard. Most of the class failed the first exam. In the end I think only half of the class passed. Good Luck.
a good teacher in the sense that he will spend as much time as you need after class to understand something, but not good in how the tests were nothing like the HW. The homework is extremely easy and will not prepare you in the slightest for the tests. Even when i did all hw in the book I still wasnt prepared. passing is a 73% too which is BS.
Very lively, and enthusiastic and makes an effort to relate to students. Makes himself available outside of class and is very thorough in his explanations; he will go over a concept or problem as many times as it takes for you to understand it.
I feel he tries to make this class harder than it has to be. The exam should reflect the material being taught and should be written in like manner. My personal opinion, making this class hard is not going to determine how someone will do in the accounting field. All people learn different and hands-on can make all the difference.
He makes the class harder than it has to be. Tests don't reflect material covered, in the manner it was taught. Intentionally making the test hard is not an indicator on how well someone will do in accounting. People learn different and some better from hands-on. It's too bad he's currently the only professor teaching the class.
Intermediate II is a tough class. Be prepared to study and have a light load with your other classes. He's helpful and funny, but this class is meant to weed out those who shouldn't be accountants. By far the hardest accounting class I'd taken. Exam grades are an upside down curve. You either pass well or fail, not many make a C.
Professor Leininger is extremely smart and always willing to help. Be prepared for his exams which will kill your grade. They are in depth and worth a lot of points. Intermediate Accounting II is one of the hardest classes I have taken, great professor but be ready to study.
Don't do a big work load or you will end up failing multiple classes. Talked to more than a few students who that happened to. This class is it. It is the real deal. This class will most likely decide if you are going to be an accounting. It is tough, extremely challenging. Test has excel problems worth upwards of 60points 110point test. GOODLUCK
I have taken this class over the summer(don't do it) and failed, retook it and got a B- in the fall. It's a HARD class. You have to read the chapters and understand everything in detail. Exams are more like the connect problems so study those hard bc he doesn't go over them in class. In class examples are way easier than what's on the exam.
This is the class that will decide whether or not you will be an accountant and they picked the perfect man to teach it. The material is difficult, but Professor Leininger gives his students a road map to success. He keeps things light, cares about his students and makes difficult subject matter easy to understand.
One of the best professors I've ever had. It's not an easy class, but he takes very difficult material and makes it manageable. He's very helpful and always there if you need help, always willing to listen. He enjoys his job and has a serious interest in his students' success, he's not just there for a pay check. I would definitely take him again.
Leininger is one of my favorite professors at UNF. He's so kind and tries to be funny but nonetheless, he is an amazing teacher. He articulates difficult concepts effortlessly and makes it feel like a piece of cake. His tests aren't bad at all. Just look over an in-class notes and practice the online homework and you'll be good!
Awesome professor, comes to class motivated and in a great mood, clear with his lectures, easy homework, tests are straightforward. I was weary this class would be hard from all the rumors about accounting but with this professor, it really isn't. Read the chapters and study and you will do great. Made an A.
There is no doubt that professor Leininger knows his stuff and is very smart. However, I felt that he didn't use class time well; too many personal stories and attempted jokes. The class is too hard to waste time. Tests did not reflect text material very well. Unless you go to his office hours, prepare to teach yourself. Not a fan of his methods.
You can bring your laptop during his lectures. Does clicker quizzes that counts as attendance/participation. Homework/quizzes almost every week are done online. Four exams and a final that is cumulative. Half multiple choice/fill-in. Don't wait last minute to study and practice the lecture/homework problems. Excel project on financial statements.
Professor Leininger is very enthusiastic about the subject matter. I liked how he would bring real world scenarios to class from his time in public accounting. He gives one hundred percent all the time and expects the same from all his students. Be ready to work hard!!
Leininger knows his stuff. He makes himself easily accessible outside of class. Your grade is mainly comprised of four tests with two chapters on each, (no cumulative exam). Except each test has 2-3 roll over questions from the prior exam, worth extra credit. Reading is essential. You are mainly tested on journal entries and financial statements.
Hard class. It is important to read and start HW before he lectures on it - so you can understand and ask more questions. It is a tough class but everything he goes over in class will be some a test q. He has daily clicker quizzes but he does it to check the classes understanding and attendance. Accessible during office, email not so much.
This guy really knows his stuff. You may not be an accountant but by the end of the course you will at least understand what is happening. Do all the homework and show up to class and you'll be ok.
Dr. Leininger is the best professor I've had at UNF. He is patient, encouraging, and generous when it comes to grading. I took this class with a different professor and failed, but Dr. Leininger takes dry, confusing material and makes it comprehensible. VERY IMPORTANT TO READ THE CHAPTERS AND PRACTICE. It's a hard class even with a great professor.
Tough class. Do homework and reading BEFORE the assigned class. Always willing to help after class hours. Get engaged with class.
This is where the road gets rough & makes-or-breaks you with continuing your major. Welcome to accounting! You'll want this guy as your professor, he's fantastic! The material is hard because its new 2 u but trust, you will use it from here on out. Ideal summer class. I'm a skipaholic, but fin. accounting is TOUGH to catch up on if you skip class.
Awesome professor, very tough course. You will need to constantly review the material in order to pass, but you will fully understand the accounting concepts once you are done! Complete all assignments, and go over class problems a couple of times on your own and you will be fine.
He honestly cares about your grade and is willing to help you understand. It is really hard to recover from skipping a class because he goes into such great depth on topics. Tests are the main chunk of your grade.
Great professor whos passionate and willing to help. DO NOT slack on homework or get too far behind the class.
One of the best professors I've ever had. He is extremely knowledgeable about accounting and a great public speaker. That said, the material is very difficult and you MUST read the chapters in ENTIRETY to pass the exams. You have to understand the material on a deep level to get an A. He will test every weak point and tiny details from the chapter
DO NOT TAKE FINANCIAL ACCOUTING WITH ANYBODY ELSE. This man tells you what will be on the exams, has great lectures in person and in videos and will gladly help you on office hours. Made accounting a breeze.
Its a hard subject. He does everything he can do providing tools for success. Truly cares about his students and feels responsible we know the subject in the work world. One of the best UNF professors. Very smart. Entertaining which helps move time along. Study hard and ahead, participate, and you'll do fine. Don't take with AIS nor Cost.
Professor Leininger is the best Ive had so far at UNF. Intermediate 2 is possibly the hardest but most important class in Accounting undergrad. However, Leininger gives you all the tools and framework needed to succeed, and you will learn a ton. Keep up with the assignments and go to every class and you will pass. Awesome teacher!
Leininger is a great professor. Very caring about his student's success and very helpful. This class is very tough and will require a lot of your time. It became the only thing I did over the summer. As long as you put in the work you will receive a fair grade. Definitely do not take with other classes if possible.
Amazing! If you have the chance to take him--do it. Class is super important. Read the chp first, don't rely on lectures alone because the book does have valuable info needed for exams. He teaches in such a unique way and without class you won't succeed on the exams as he walks you through the formats needed. He also does random attendance. GREAT:)
Professor Leininger is a truly good college professor, meaning he doesn't give it to you easy but gives you all the tools to succeed. He expands your knowledge of the accounting field in general and his assignments reflect what students will see in the real world. If you are an accounting major take him for sure!
Professor Leininger is a truly great college professor, meaning he doesn't give it to you easy but gives you all the tools you need to succeed. He expands your knowledge of the accounting world in general and his assignments are applicable to what you will see in the real world. If you are an Accounting major, take him for sure! Nobody better.
I took Professor Leininger for Intermediate Accounting 2, and he is a great professor. He makes his expectations clear from the beginning of the semester. To pass this class you must do the practice sets, and the problems in the back of the chapters in order to pass the exams. Also, get up on your Excel skills for exams, as the exams use excel.
Look, accounting is hard no matter who you've take it with. Professor Leininger does really want you to succeed. He's probably the best accounting professor at the school. There's alot of work so be prepared to have a few hours a week of homework. You get what you put in. I would highly recommend him.
Don't let Intermediate Acc. 2 scare you. Prof. Leininger's method of teaching is so effective! I didn't believe it at first, but his use of Excel to teach made subjects so much easier to understand. Don't get me wrong, the tests are still difficult and you will need to study, but Prof. Leininger gives you everything you need to succeed!
Professor Leininger is definitely one of the better accounting professors at UNF. Make sure you attend the class and do the homework assignments.
Leininger is the best. I've taken him twice now and he really just makes me love accounting more and more every class because of how passionate he gets about it. His tests are usually pretty hard but very easy to study for because he tells you exactly what to study for. He explains everything very clearly and always answers any question.
Great professor. Intermediate II may be a hard course, but Professor Leininger has many helpful videos to assist with the course material. The book is well written and chapter readings are a must for tests. Practice the in class problems over again in excel as he lets you use excel for the exams.
Can't say enough of good things about Professor Leininger. I dropped Intermediate once and took him a year later with a break from accounting classes, I was still able to get a good grade because of how thorough he is. Study practice sets and problems he shows in class and you will do fine.
This was the third class that I had taken with Leininger, so I was somewhat familiar with his practices. Going into the course, get familiar with Excel, you'll use it daily. And read the book, without it you will struggle. This is the "weed-out" course, and it is going to be tough, so put the effort in and you'll pass.
This is my favorite teacher of all time at UNF. There is never a dull class, always having fun, but also able to explain every concept in a way that each person will understand. This was online during the summer, and it was still an amazing experience. It is difficult concepts, but he is honesty the best professor I have ever had at UNF.
if you want to learn, he's not going to teach you, it's a self-learning class, you go to class to practice what you've learned on ur own. I've never learned anything he teaches in-campus. However, I love the videos, they go in-depth and explain each exercise, but exams are completely different, expecting you to know something he never taught you.
One of the nicest, understanding prof I've had an UNF. Accounting is difficult but he came to class very passionate about his teachings. Very easy to reach and accommodating in and out of class. Show up, do the readings, PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE and this class will be a breeze. Class consists of attendance, small HW here and there and exams!
Absolutely loved taking him this semester! He makes accounting enjoyable and wants students to succeed in his class. He has great video lectures, so be sure to view them before going to class so that you're able to engage in class. He has everything and then some so students can learn. "The weed out class" is just a myth, you'll do great with him.
Accounting itself is difficult if isn't practice enough outside of class, but Professor Leininger truly wants the best for his students ONLY if you meet him halfway. Attend every office hours, class, and practice outside of class. He's funny and will help you succeed if you put in the effort. Overall one of the best UNF professors!
I wish him the best. probably one of the worst class though.
Decent professor, but he retired this year, so no longer teaches at UNF. Exams were difficult because they were essay type questions, so you needed to show your work and grading was more subjective than if it was MC exam.
Leininger's class is a challenge, but the resources like his detailed videos and the textbook are super helpful. Staying on top of the practice sets and using Excel for exams is key. Unstuckstudy was a lifesaver for test prep!
