awesome teacher...nice on grades and extra credit
He's a good teacher, and the class is very interesting. He gives a lot of opportunities for extra credit. So you'll pass this class if you study for the tests.
he is a very good teacher
Starts the class with new joke everyday! Rough grading scale, but really good extra credit opportunities. Make sure to show up to the class BEFORE a quizday because he goes over everything. Reading required, notes helpful. Show up 3/4 of the time.
Excellent teacher, great guy. Very helpfull, give lot of extra credit, and makes class interesting. I really enjoyed his class, and his stories. He has had lots of experiances to tell about. I would highly recomend him.
He's a great man. VERY interesting class. Tests come out of chapter summary questions in book. This is one class you won't fall asleep in. TONS of extra credit!
Awesome guy. He has really interesting stories. Lots of extra credit. Do your reading he tells you to do and you have an A. Not too much work.
He is a funny teacher. The jokes at the beginning of every class are great. There isnt any homework you just have to study for his tests.
Corn, but funny jokes everyday, tons of extra credit and interesting stories!Nice teacher and easy class. He can be preachy at times but its not too bad. Overall he's a great teacher!
Great teacher, class is very interesting, put 1 hr in for each test and you'll make an A. Tons of extra credit. For the test, know the summary reveiws at the end of the book.
Wonderful teacher. His lectures expound on the text so know it before coming to class. As far as tests are concerned, not very hard to get good grades- be sure to get test review. Has fairly interesting lectures.
He's a good, warm guy. You'll love going to class. You should be fine if you read, do extra credit, and take notes. A good 1&1/2 hour of studying before tests should be fine. You'll learn quite a bit, too. And a joke of the day everyday!!!
I don't think I've enjoyed any class I've ever had as much as his. He is a very interesting professor and teaches with humor and wit which makes the class a whole lot easier. He explains with stories and examples to prove what he's teaching. Great Guy!!!!
Mr. Loftis is a lovable guy. His jokes are silly, which sets the mood for his classes. All subject matter is interesting and fun. Extra credit opportunities are bountiful and tests are easy to study for. This class is a must!!!
Very easy!!!! You have to study for tests to make an A, if you don't study you can make a B or C easily. Cool teacher!!
interesting, fun, cool, with extremely easy tests if you can remember 4 or 5 things in a list
Very easy course. Make sure that you know the names of medications for the tests, though.
It was a fun class what else can I say the man knows what he is doing and i learned a bunch of interesting things.
Tests are easy, but I could never pull out an A. Knowledgable and very interesting. I always looked forward to going to his class. Mr. Loftis is a breath of fresh air compared to some of the professors I've had. Awesome Class.
Mr. Loftis is witty and interesting, able to make a (arguably) scientific discipline like psychology dynamic and fun. His standards are high, but plenty of extra credit. Come to class and the material will stick with you, because he presents it so well.
He's great! Very easy going and his class is so wonderful. It really says something if the prof comes to class 15 minutes late and not many people have left.. I would recommend his class! It's really fun and interesting!
Did not study for one test. Did a little extra credit and I got an A. Go to class, not only will you learn, but its also very enjoyable. Great Teacher. Should get somekind of award or something.
Love that class-very funny! always starts class with a joke...tests are easy--def. take him!
This guy is a really easy teacher, and he gives you lots of extra credit points.
Where does he get those jokes - the "Laughter is the Best Medicine" section of the "Reader's Digest"?! His best attribute as an educator is his personable demeanor. Few and far between are the teachers who seem as approachable. Thumbs up!
I set at the back of the class so I didn't hear half of what he said, but I reviewed the chapters the nite before the tests and aced the class. Easy A.
terrible grading system.....Isnt extra credit extra?? If it wasnt extra then call it REQUIRED work. Doesnt make any sense to me...oh well I guess I am just a student, right?
Wonderful!!!!He is very willing to help you out and his lectures are very interesting. He is my favorite teacher I've had at tech so far.
Great class!!! He makes the material fun and interstings! Fun lectures. Lots of chances to get extra credit. Just pay attention in class and study some...and you should do fine. Tests are stright foward and cover the material. Take him if you can!
Fun class; always starts it out with a joke. Gives extra credit (a lot) and it does help. And its easy extra credit. Tests are easy and multiple choice. Overall, a great easy class to take under him.
TAKE THIS TEACHER. his only problem is his grading scale. Extra credit is required to get an A.
AWESOME. I love this class. Definately take him. Interesting and easy.
He is an awesome teacher! It is helpful to go to class. Most of his tests are based on lectures! He does get some questions from the review sections of the book. I loved this class!
He is a great teacher and his lectures are very interesting b/c he has his own practices. His tests come from his lectures and also some of the questions at the end of each module.
This guy is horrible! I feel bad for him. You can tell he likes teaching but he just isn't good. Impossible to take notes in his class. I stopped going to class and just got the added random stuff that he adds for tests from someone and got a B. You are hereby forewarned! AWFUL!
Great professor. Go to class, read the book, and do the extra credit(very easy) and you'll get an A. One of those classes you actually enjoy going to. Very fair and knowledgable. He always starts off the class with a joke. He is late often, but I think he somethimes gets hung up at his practice.
GREAT teacher. Great jokes!! ;) He gives extra credit, but his tests are kinda hard.
he's a great teacher. he's funny and seems to enjoy teaching. just go to class, read the book and do all the (really easy) extra credit and you'll have an A with no sweat
Absolutely hilarious. He told a joke every day at the beginning of class. I found this class VERY interesting, and he gives examples of things from his experiences with his patients. He was very helpful, and gave us TONS of extra credit. Quite easy. I would just read my notes over for tests.
Excellent teacher! One of the only classes I actually looked forward to. Tons of extra credit and easy tests. Definently take him if you can.
I loved this class! The tests cover a lot of material, but there is so much extra credit that there is no excuse not to get an A. Mark is a really good teacher, and he relates psych to real-life. Take this class!
He went so fast through class that it was impossible to take notes, much less learn anything. If you study your terms and do your extra credit you will pass not problem. Just don't try to take notes. You will get a cramp in your hand. Highlight the words in the books.
he is a great teacher and made class fun with his many jokes. with the extra credit he offers it is easy to make an a
Great guy! He tells joke everyday and sometimes 2 if the first isn't so great. Notes are up on a slide show and go pretty much hand in hand with the book. His tests can be somewhat difficult depending on the material and how much you study.
His class isn't bad. If you take notes on a laptop it is easier than by hand. Also, he gives a lot of extra credit that makes it so much easier to get an A. Tests are hard if you don't study for them. He covers a lot of chapters on each test, which makes it a little more difficult, but the extra credit helps make up for this.
This is a great class. The only roblem you might have is trying to write down the notes from the powerpoint he uses. My advice: get the book and read it and you will do fine. Hey, you might even learn something! He is a great guy. If you ever find yourself doing a research project on psych, interwiew hi. He knows his stuff.
This guy is great. I love the way he starts off class every day with a corny joke. It is hilarious. The tests aren't easy, but you should be ok if you show up for class and read the book.
Loftis was awesome! take him if you can!! he is so funny and really a great teacher. I learned so much stuff that i can ACTUALLY use in his class. easy A...take him.
Awesome, simply awesome. Mark is an incredible guy as well as an outstanding professor. I learned sooooooo much in his class. By far one of the coolest professors ever. He also lets you have up to 50 bonus points which are a breeze to get! TAKE HIM IF YOU CAN!!! DON'T RESEARCH ANY MORE PSYCH PROFESSORS.TRUST ME YOU WANT TO TAKE HIS CLASS
Easy, easy A. Read the book, and use a highlighter in class instead of trying to write down everything he covers. Lots of extra credit opportunities.
Good guy, very enjoyable, cool, and like the jokes, BUT the first two weeks and the last week was great w/ Harley's Love busters, however, the rest of the time, I was very disappointed. I'm a psych major and found that I got more by ready by myself than listening in class. It was almost worthless to me. Test Fair&Good guy, didn't like as a teacher.
Difficult test but I learned so much from his class, great teacher
Very interesting teacher to listen to. Learn the terminology in the book and it's an easy B.
Dr. Loftis is a funny teacher that is interested in teaching his students practical knowledge to improve them as people. His tests are hard. He offers a lot of extra credit however, enough to make up a bad grade. I recommend him. Just go to the lecture; he will tell you what is on the test. He is fair with his students. You will learn a lot.
This class is easy, and he gives alot of extra credit. If you study your notes AND use the book to study, you will do fine on the tests. I don't suggested sitting in the back for this class. He mumbles sometimes, and you miss notes. I wasn't that interested in Psychology before the class, but I enjoyed the class (learned alot).
Pretty easy, lots of extra credit opportunities. He mumbles and is hard to understand, test are somewhat random, but if you do the extra credit, you'll be fine.
He really isnt clear on what is going on and the tests are completly hard!
Good Teacher ! Alot to learn !
His test are hard. There is alot of reading, but he is a nice guy who gives alot of extra credit. If you do the extra credit you will be fine. Test gets easer toward the end of the semister. He tries to get ride of as many students at the beginging of the semister then after the drop date gets alot easer.
General Psychology: Unfortunately, you actually do have to study for his Mr. Loftis' tests, contrary to what I was told. It's not that difficult of a class if you read the text. However, the reading is time-consuming. My advice: Take advantage of the extra credit; it took my grade from a low B to an A.
Good teacher very interesting. Study for test and take advantage of easy extra credit for an A.
Very good teacher. He has a lot of information to teach. Study a lot for tests. He gives a lot of extra credit
Dr. Loftis is a wonderful psychology professor. He begins every class with a joke, even if some of them are corny. He gives test which are directly related to the material. However, the easy grade is not a give-away. You must read and study lecture notes. Gives a nice amount of extra credit that should raise overall grade a complete letter grade.
Mr. Loftis knows his stuff he practices and teaches and he is a pastor all in one that needs not to be so YOUR going to hell if you beleive anything diffrent
Dr. Loftis is a really good teacher. Gives good lectures. He starts off EVERY class with a corny joke, but sometimes they are funny. I really liked his class, but it definietly aint no easy A trust me! You have to study for his tests! Take advantage of the extra credit..it brought my grade from a C to an A!!!!
he is a really good teacher. he doesn't put anything on the test that he hasnt covered. just make sure you read the chapters, take notes, and do extra credit and you will do fantastic! he is very interesting to listen to also!
Funny guy. Interesting. Tells a lot of stories. Just does a powerpoint each class. Take notes... tells you a majority of whats on the test. Just look over the chapters (which are actually interesting... only textbook i've read) along with his recommendations and you will do well. Gives a ton of extra credit also (easy stuff).
Mr. Loftis was probably the best teacher i had this semester it is a very easy class if you show up and take the notes
Not the most interesting class ever. Every class he just has a power point he goes over, it gets extremely boring. I didn't go to many of his classes and still passed with a "B" because I read the chapters. His tests are easy if you study. Very, very nice guy and offers tons of extra credit!
Pretty good class overall. As long as you take notes, review the terms in the book, do the extra credit (50 pts total), and put a decent effort into studying it's an easy A. Not the most interesting man ever but he has his moments.
Good teacher. Power points get pretty boring though. He gives lots of opportunities for extra credit, take them! They will really help you in the end. 5 tests total. Not a hard class or professor. I would definitely recommend him.
Interesting lectures and gives plenty of extra credit. However, he sometimes hurries through the chapters to take a test.
fantastic professor! he goes over everything very clearly and even adds in things that aren't in the book. his tests contain chapter definitions, lecture notes, and things in the reading that are sometimes unexpected. as long as you read you chapters outside of class, attend lectures, and look over definitions, you'll do fine!
Great teacher. Expectations in the class are crystal clear. Lectures are very organized. Gives up to a letter grade in extra credit. If you don't make an 'A' in this class you probably weren't trying.
LOVE THIS CLASS! He is an entertaining, non-bias, and kind man. Very easy class IF you want it to be. Attend all classes and you won't even have to study much for tests. Use book to study, look at def.'s and section objectives. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT!! It's an easy extra 50 points on your OVERALL grade!
If you don't do anything do the extra credit!!! I made an A but never did very well on the tests always got a C or B. I have no clue how to tell you to study for the tests. Study the people he lectures about during class. Sometimes gives extra points for coming on a Friday. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT! It practically guarantees an A!
Pretty easy class, offers 50 points of extra credit which REALLY helps. Very laid back guy, just do the extra credit and you will get atleast a B
Great teacher. Kept the lectures interesting. Test are farely easy to pass. All multiple choice. Have to study to make a good grade, but he gives a good study guide.
Loftis is pretty straight forward with his material. Powerpoint everyday and the tests are all multiple choice. He offers the chance for up to 50 extra credit points which is really helpful. Easy class to take.
His tests are extremely difficult! This is the only college class I have ever made a C in. Oh and his "jokes" at the start of class get VERY annoying!
His test are really hard. Don't just rely on the notes you take in class; READ YOUR BOOK!! A lot of his questions are not in the notes. Know key terms and people's names and what they did. Also, do the extra credit! It gives up to 50 points, and it's easy extra credit. It can bring your grade up a whole letter grade. He is a good teacher, just hard
This person is really easy! Easy tests...all multiple choice. No quizzes. 50 points of available extra credit...take it! Read the book...that is where most of the information comes from for the test. Study guides definitely help! I really liked his jokes before every class! I would take him for another class if he taught it! Easy A!!!
this class is very straightforward: all tests and a maximum of 50 points of extra credit. the notes do help but you also need to read the book if u want an A on every test. but i would still recommend him because he's a good teacher who tells jokes and keeps the class interested in the subject.
I LOVE Loftis. I had no interest in psychology but it became my favorite subject. He starts out every day with a joke, the material is interesting, he has real life stories that apply to material and he is a GREAT man. Openly Christian. Favorite Teacher. Hands down. Class is not hard.
Loftis is a great teacher. The class is very easy, but also very interesting. He gives a lot of extra credit, enough to bring you up a letter grade if you need it, and sometimes gives extra credit on a test if you're there on a day with low attendance.
Great teacher, easy class. Not boring either. I think there are 4 tests and an final. Even if you make straight B's on the exams you can still make an A in the class, just do all the EASY extra credit he gives. (50 points worth of extra credit. THAT'S A FULL LETTER GRADE IN THE CLASS!) Overall, great and fun teacher.
Professor loftis is the man, if you want a teacher who truly wants you to suceed you found one.
Take your laptop to class and surf the web while you're taking notes. Most of 2010 is general knowledge, but some of it is not. That's the part where it becomes really interesting. I can't say I ever found his class boring, but then again, I was in there with quite a few friends, too.
Class was always interesting. Tests had no suprises as long as you went to class. Extra credit offered which will bring your grade up a whole letter. Christian beliefs :) and a great personality.
Was a great teacher. Really knew what he was talking about. Would give a review before the tests. Open note tests as well.
Easy class. Online tests that were fairly simple. Skipped class at least once a week and left with an A. Makes class really enjoyable and fun to attend however. Gives plenty of extra credit that will help you in the long run. Overall, great SBS class to take especially with him.
I loved this class. The lectures were enjoyable. Attendance isnt required. Fairly easy if you come to class for tests. They are more baised on what he says not how it reads.
Mr. Loftis (who might be Dr. Loftis by the time you take him) teaches one of the best electives at Tech. Our section was taught in the NH 282 Auditorium, so going to class was a bit of a hassle. However, if you go to class, there is no way you cannot make an A. There are five, fifty question exams. He gives up to 50 points of extra credit as well.
Easy, Easy, Easy. All tests (including the final) is online, so just find a group of 3-4 people and wear them out. 5 exams total. I didn't go to class the last 2 months and made As on every exam.
EASY! Take him if you are looking for an easy A! His class is pretty interesting too. All exams, the midterm, and final are online, and he gives his class notes on powerpoint on ilearn, but make sure you use your book as well for the tests. Take him!
Mr. Loftis is amazing. Nice guy and very down to earth. his class is easy. TAKE HIM :)
Extremely easy professor. Intrested in his students success and always encouraging in class. Easiest A I've made so far. All tests are online, I found the final to be the easiest test we took. You can go without the book, but it's very helpful to use during test. TAKE THIS PROFESSOR.
Excellent teacher overall. He explains interesting well and is just a fun guy, making class interesting. You will need to use the book though he doesn't require it for the lecture. I really don't know what else to say other than if he messes up his mythology... don't worry about it. He knows what he's talking about.
He is a great Professor. He starts every class with a joke, If every professor was like him there would not be college dropouts. If he is teaching a course take it.
He is a great professor. His class is in a autitorium so he doesn't take roll a lot unless he sends a piece of paper around for you to sign. I hardly ever went becuase all of his tests are online and you can use the book. All of his powerpoints are on ilearn too. It is a easy class if you do the work.
Extremely easy class. You really don't need the book as most of the information comes from power points. All tests are online and you have opportunities for bonus points. Only four tests, a final, and five "scholarly activities." Attendance is not mandatory to pass the class, but you get bonus points for taking quizzes on info he gives in lecture.
He is the best teacher. I barely did anything in his class and I made an A. Just print out the powerpoint and the test questions come straight from the power point! EASY!!
Mr. Loftis is one of the best professors I've had. You don't HAVE to go to class but he gives random quizzes on iLearn based on info from that day in class. Just go to class and print out the powerpoint, you'll do great.
