I loved this class. He is a great teacher and you can tell he is very interested in the subject matter and getting the students involved.

Brother Lovell is so nice. I think he is one of the nicest professors on campus. He is really helpful and really interested in what he teaches. He tries to make it possible for everyone to get a good grade. He's fantastic.

An AMAZING teacher! He loves what he is teaching and gets so excited, like a little kid. I really had no interest in geology until i took this class. I still remember things i learned from him a year ago! He is very entertaining and somehow makes geology fun!

He is a great guy and really cares about his students. He donesn't cover very well in class whats going to be on test later on. But you get through it with the paper and small easy quizes.

He is an awesome teacher with a great sense of humor. His lectures can get tedious; and sometimes his tests are a little difficult, but altogether he is a great teacher!

I absolutely love brother lovell!!! I hated geology and still do hate geology, but he made it somewhat bearable. He is the most humble and caring man a person could be, and it's such an honor to be taught by a person like that. It's not an easy class, but an A is doable.

One of the best teachers I have ever had. Helps you understand the geologic concepts if you are confused. Doesn't mind cracking jokes in class. Just a blast. Gets you excited by his own enthusiasm. Highly recommend him for any class you take.

Gives good prior info for tests. Can be somewhat of a critical grader. But for the most part it was an easy class. Not alot of homework.

Great teacher! He really cares about his students and helps them to apply the things taught in the class. I wish I could take more classes from him. He really cares about the subjects and tries hard to help us to value it as well. Please take this class from Bro. Lovell!

Great person. Just read the chapters and participate in class discussions to learn what you need to for the tests. Good pretest reviews. The class is really simple yet provides great opportunity to learn. You have to participate to get the most out of it. Your grade will be fine if you follow the reading schedule. Hardly any HW. Good class.

I LOVE Bro Lovell. He is a great guy. His class was very easy. Just go to class, take notes and follow the reading and you do great. It's a fairly easy foundations course. It is worth taking!

Brother Lovell is legit!! At times he can be a little scatter brained, but the class quality consists on how much you want to learn. If you pay attention, ask questions, and participate you will love this class. There are a couple of group projects, but the average time spent on each is around 1 hour in total. This is a fun and useful class take it

Super great guy. Just read the book, participate in class, and do the weekly current events and you have it made. Not a lot of accountability so you need to do the little that is required to pass, but its not hard at all. If you will read the book you won't have problems. You get out of the class what you put into it. He is a great person.

Very interesting and an enjoyable class.

This class was interesting at times, but nothing that I was absolutely drawn into. There were a lot of times that I didn't really know what I was supposed to be learning and was annoying. The Bro. Lovell is incredibly nice and a good teacher, but gets off topic easily. I didn't do too hot on the first test but the 2nd I got a 99. Bonus! No final!

Simple, pretty laid back , but still on top of things, was overall a nice class.

This class sounded fun, so I signed up for it. Although, the class is new and Bro. Lovell was new at teaching it, I did learn. The class did seem disorganized at times, but through student insight and teaching, I was able to learn otherwise difficult concepts, rather well. You can pass if you review notes and listen to the teacher's review.

I liked this class overall. It was confusing at times and could be a little more organized. Bro. Lovell taught us what really counted though without the fluff. Not my favorite subject but a good class.

This teacher has really has a way of inspiring his students to continue to grow in any field of study and to really look at the facts. He is always very passionate and enthusiastic about what he is teaching and his mane hope and desire is that the students will go out into the world and help make a difference.

Brother Lovell is a nice guy. He is always willing to give further explanation or help if you ask him. The one thing that made this class difficult for me was the lack of structure. I had a hard time figuring out what was due when and how the assignments completed were to be completed.

Great teacher! understand that this is a foundations course bso he teaches the info yet makes it so its not the hardest class you have. teaches things plainly and is a super nice guy. i would recomend him for this class

Brother Lovell is awesome! I was sick alot through the semester and he worked with me and cared about how I was doing. There is a 1-page write up every Friday, 2 exams take in class, and two group presentations. Take a class from him, you wont regret it! :)

Brother Lovell is overall a great professor. He has a good knowledge base and understanding of the material. He is very nice and helpful. Some of the work for the course was ambiguous but I don't believe he had anything to do with that part.

He is a great teacher and makes the material interesting. He does waste some time with reviewing tests and you ask why you are there that day.

Brother Lovell is such a good guy. He really cares about his students if you shop up to class and do some of the reading you will do fine. I think I would like this class as much as I did but I would definitely suggest talking this class from brother Lovell.

This was my favorite of all science electives I've had to take. Mark Lovell is very knowledgeable, and very effective as a professor. If you need help, he's happy to assist you anytime. If you apply yourself you will learn a lot in his class.

Clear, easy teacher. Understandable, lots of easy assignments. Only two easy tests. The final is an easy presentation. Great class and teacher.

The course was unorganized, professor often seemed unprepared, and just showed up to class hoping to talk about current events. way easy class. Although it was unorganized, the class inspired me. Definitely favorite class of the semester. Gave me a real desire to live green and make the world change with me.

Brother Lovell's class was interesting and usually on task. His enthusiasm for the subject made it fun to learn from his lectures. The organization and requirements for group work weren't as clear. If the group leader was responsible for rating the level of participation, I think they would run better. Else, a highly enjoyable educational moment.

He's a very spiritual. He is very passionate about the subject. Class sometimes started a little late. It wasn't always clear what we were covering and when since he just gives a list of chapters to read for that week, not for a particular class period. Overall a good and easy class.

Very kind and nice man. Almost always daily group assignments and daily readings and homework. Some tests harder than others--overall not too bad. He dropped our lowest test score, out of five tests. I would take it from him again.

I loved his enthusiasm about the subject. He is super fun and, even though the material wasn't the easiest, he helped inspire you with the desire to learn so it was easier to work.

The material for GPS is stupid, but if you're willing to speak up and ask for help from the TA or Lovell they'll help you one on one and walk you through everything - Easy A. Lovell's old and kind and thoughtful so just be nice to him. A smile and hello in the hall or thank you at the end of class means a lot to him.

The lectures were kind of hard to follow and he didn't spend enough time on some subjects. Also most of the learning was to be done from the online textbook which is such a pain to use.

He is a great professor for geology! I only had him for the lab but his enthusiasm and friendly personality made the often rigorous labs a good experience. He likes to make geology jokes and is very caring towards his students. Him and his TAs will help you get done the work that you need to if you show up for lab times.
