Loves to use blue books, the tests are essay tests
Terrible teacher, so boring, I couldn't keep my eyes open in the class. He just sits there and talks the whole class time and gives 4 essays you have to choose from. Boring, would not recommend this teacher.
boring boring boring is all u can say about him....non stop lecture thats all then a test...then lecture..then 3 weeks later u get back the test...then lecture...would not recomend
Lectured a lot, but his knowledge & interest of the material was great; he added his own anecdotes & personal stories to make the info. relevant. He offered xtra help before tests & told the class exactly what material would be on tests. His grading was hard, a bit unfair; solely based on 3 tests but grading was reflective of the notes you took.
This guy contradicts himself as every turn. He made us buy two books then goes on about how the books are all wrong, then expects us to study from the books without getting confused. Tests are detailed essay questions.

very boring class ..hard essay tests...hard to understand him when he talks!
Very challenging essay question tests! Not my favorite subject, but Professor was fair.
Every class is all lecture. Almost no interaction. Gives possible test questions before the test (impossible to get below a B if you do them before hand). Good professor, class would be ALOT better if it wasn't just lecture.
He lectures a lot but gives you the exact test. the whole class was based on tests and since the test was given to you as a study guide beforehand you have to try really really hard to fail. This class was so easy.
A very fair professor who wants his students to learn as much as possible. The class is certainly not an easy one, but expectations are made clear and all test questions come straight from the study guides given a week before the exams. Those who have said negative things obviously did not want to put in the time, because the professor is fair.
He's very smart, but lectures the whole class. The 1st day of class he didn't have the syllabus' for our class. Sometimes he will lecture off topic, but he gives study guides a week before which consist of 20 identities and 4 essay questions. You answer in paragraph form 10 identities, and 1 essay question in a 6 page booklet with no questions.
He is really interested in his field of study. Extremely knowledgable. Sometime he will make corny jokes, but they are funny none the less. Seems to really enjoy teaching.
Horrible. All he does is stand at the front of the room leaning against the board and babbles on and on. He doesnt explain anything and his entire class is based on the 3 exams. I would highly recommend to not take him and drop if you do get him.
He is an extremely intelligent man and knows his subject. A lot of people made fun of him but they probably weren't laughing when they got bad grades. Gives study guides. Write everything you know in those blue books. Don't give simple answers. Easy A.
Great Professor,he does talk quietly sometimes but anyway he makes the class interesting. He gives out study guides the week before, study whatever he goes over in class. Peopel were ignorant and made fun of him, but this is college they should know how to behave. He knows his subject. Be specific as possible on tests and PAY ATTENTION!!!!
He is a great teacher and cares about his students, full of knowledge, he sound slow but if you are a good listener you will enjoy different stories about history and of course he makes them interesting for his students. Easy A if you follow the guidelines.
He knows his stuff. Unless you are a history major or extremely interested in history, dont bother. His tests are long, detailed essays on different parts of history. He takes each fact seriously and expects the essays to contain all the information discussed in class. Takes about two weeks to get a test back.
This teacher literally sits in front of class and babbles on from the minute class starts to the very last minute unless your world revovles around history it is EXTREMELY hard to learn anything off of him and he expects every last detail in the 4 essays u have to have prepared before every test IF U GET HIM I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DROPPING THE COURSE
His lectures are so boring! All he did was sit at the desk and talk. He would get up maybe once or twice to show a PICTURE of a historical figure. He is VERY picky about what you write for his short answers and essay questions. He was hard to understand at times because he mumbles the ends of his sentences. I would not recommend him for any subject
In my third class with with Lucc, for good reason. He is incredible. I enjoy learning and Lucc has satisfied the desire. Keep protesting the creditors' standardization Luccioni! I pay for your class, to get your education, you are stellar. Sadly CCC seems to be heading in the opp direction. CCC you will shortly be loosing one of your best students.
most boring class i've ever had! he sits there and just lectures. he is helpful to ask and is very smart with history. he only grades you on 3 exams and thats it. most confusing class and its just flat out boring!
If you don't do well in this class then you aren't applying yourself. Wake up, pay attention and ask questions. I like this class and I feel Prof. Luccioni knows his stuff. He's getting a bad rap on here. This is college not high school so expect to work a little harder, but come on he gives 3 test the whole semester and if you ask for his help he

i think he is a good teacher. He knows his stuff. if you think you can listen to him to write notes, more power to you. i took him in the summer and he gave study guides which i used to book and internet to study rather than listening to him. he talks to the very last minute. im a history major so i can take the heat. he is very generous.
Wonderful again Luccioni. I wish the semester was longer. Finished my fourth class with Luccioni, I wish I could take more. Tests are a waste of time for me, a waste of a class, the test is a quickly scribbled collection, a ****ization of the knowledge I have gathered in Luccioni's class.
This is most certainly a man who loves what he does. If you cannot understand something .... RAISE YOUR HAND and he will most certainly explain it in a way in which you can. He's very knowledgeable in his feild... yes, he's very particular but he wouldn't be so hard if he didn't expecthis students to do well in class. That's a sign of a caring/goo

Awesome teacher. A little difficult as far as how he grades tests but if you attend class and take notes, for the most part, the answers are right in front of you. Does not focus on the book to much which is a good thing because you know what he is saying will be on the test. Easy teacher to ask questions to and won't hesitate to answer a question.
I had Professor Luccioni for US History 1 last semester. He really knows his stuff, but he only has three tests and they are 75% essay. However he gives you a study guide a week before and if you write out you essays before hand you can show him and he'll let you know if you are on track. Just make sure you answer all parts of the question.
The professor is really nice. He goes off on rants sometimes which makes it hard to take note. His class is all note taking and him lecturing. So if you enjoy lecturing and writing go for his class. The test are somewhat difficult if you don't study and some of the things he puts on the study guide are not in the book or notes. So good luck
He is a very tough grader. Sits at desk & lectures in quiet voice. Always goes off on tangents & usually doesn't cover everything thats on the test. This class was a dent in my GPA...
Amazing teacher! I'm definitely going to miss him. Take notes....he tells you EVERYTHING you need to know. I hardly opened the book. I learned so much just from his lectures.
I absolutely loved his class! I was always excited to find out what we'd be learning each day. He is extremely knowledgeable & fair. The work load is very light, so there is plenty of time to relax and take in the material. Definitely recommend!!
i would never want to take his class again, i didnt touch my text book once.. all he did was sit at his desk and lecture. you have to write down everything! he often goes off on rants, you have to study 4x's the amount of crap thats actually on the test, miss one day and youre doomed.
Great Professor Very knowledgeable and sweet. His class is all lecture. You have to take notes based on his lectures. He makes history interesting if you pay attention. I learned a lot from him. If you take detailed notes you won't need the book at all. He gives study guides with everything that is on the test. If you study you are guaranteed an A.
Not a very good Professor! Monotone speeches and goes off topic in lectures. In addition, most of the class would be sleep during class. If you have Luccioni for World Civ drop immediately.
He is really a genuinely a good guy. He shares his perspective, as well as how history can be skewed by the film industry, I found that interesting. He's actually pretty funny. If you pay attention, take a lot of notes, and go to class, you'll excel! Go in with an open mind.
Dr. Luccioni is a good professor. He knows his stuff for the most part. I'd keep a laptop in front of me & look up people & events he mentions to correct him when he makes mistakes. The class is just lecture & he gives study guides for the exams. If he steers off topic, ask a question that gets him back on topic. I wouldn't bother buying the book.
Good professor. If you can't understand him, ask him to repeat what he said, as sometimes he speaks in a high unintelligible voice. And he goes off topic a little too much, try to get him back on topic by asking an on topic question. Overall he knows his U.S. History & is a kind person. If you've internet access, no need to buy the book.
EASY A. he gives 3 tests, and a study guide a week before the test. if you fail his class you should rethink attending college. overall nice guy and an interesting class.
Overall a good teacher. He knows what he is talking about but when it comes to test and such , it's all about how much you study and what you're willing to do to get a good grade. Wont be easy if you don't study.
I had Roberson for World Civ I and I passed with a high A. I come here and I don't even think I'm going to pass. Talks low, isn't exactly clear, too much material to remember for tests. My interest in history drastically dropped and it is a big struggle to pay attention. Try to write down everything he says, cause it the only way to try to pass.
Can not stand this class. Some say he's great but compared to every other history professor i've had he's the worst. Passed World Civ 1 with a perfect A and now I have a C almost a D. He tells you he'll help you after class but then rushes off and talks as fast as possible and mumbles. Taking notes in class is essential but extremely difficult!
He is horrible. I love history but he can't teach. He goes on and on. He would get off topic really fast.
HORRIBLE professor do not recommend. Nice guy but mumbles really low in front of the class. I actually tried to pass the class and I never got higher than a C on any of the tests. He's a ridiculously hard grader and if you're looking to just get by then drop this class because you need to work REALLY hard to even get a B.
100% lecture class. 0% class participation. Only has 3 test. All of which are essay from memory. Must identify 20 (10will be in test) people, places, or events with 1-2 sentence and must be specific to get full credit. 4 long essay questions are in study guide he picks two to be on the test. There is an unnesceray amount of memorizing for a class
The most horrible professor ever. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS. First off, you cant understand anything he says because he mumbles. When you ask for extra help he doesn't help at all, never responded to a single student email. He cancelled class about 4 times. The tests are difficult and he grades very tough. Don't waste your money and GPA on this class.
I have his 50-minute 12:00 class, and Dr. Luccioni is just average. On the bad side, he is boring and rambles off topic frequently. But, positively, he actually doesn't mumble like a lot of ppl said he does. He actually talks loud and clear and shows pictures of historical things; and writes on the board too. I guess I have him at a better time.
Don't get me wrong, he's a nice, knowledgable guy; and he means very well, but Dr. Luccioni is boring. And his tests (and his grading of said tests) are ridiculous too. But he isn't as awful as most of the reviewers have made him out to be on here.
I was a History major when I took his class. That being said, his class is a typical history lecture. He basically sits in the front of the room and talks. You are tested on the lectures, not so much the reading. There are only a few test which are all IDs and one essay. He is very knowledgeable, as long as you take notes and study you'll be okay.
Decent professor. Lectures are ok if you can tolerate a nonstop talker. However, his grading of tests is BRUTAL. He has a PhD in History, and expects you to have one too when you write your IDs and Essays for the exams. But overall, he's not too bad.
His whole class is a consists of attendance everyday and a long lecture. tests are based off of his lectures so WRITE EVERYTHING DOWN AND YOU WONT NEED THE TEXT BOOK. Your final grade is made up of 3 tests and he is a brutal grader so study like there's no tomorrow. But he confirms your study material if you ask him to. He's an alright professor.
A professor who turned out better than expected. Very knowledgeable and helps you go over material when you complete your study guide. However, his tests are harshly graded. But besides that, he's far better than I thought he would've been! I wish I was able to take him again
He truly knows his stuff, unfortunately he knows it too well. I was truly impressed that he lectured for so long about so much with no notes. He is a very sweet and patient professor and very forgiving with grading. Bring a laptop to class for notes there's a lot it makes it easier. You are given a study guide DO IT! AND KNOW IT! You will do fine.
took this as a 5wk summer course and it was the worst possible thing I've ever done. he talks super fast and mumbles occasionally. he grades the tests quite heavily. I do use the text book. he does not give breaks as said in the syllabus. im planning on retaking this course.
I love Professor Luccioni, and while this was for World Civ 3 (and might not be the case for other classes), there were a total of three exams throughout the semester which students are given a study guide and your grade was based completely on that. I love how much he knew (even though it was a bit much sometimes!) he still has to be my favorite.
Professor Luccioni is very knowledgeable professor with a Phd in History, and seems to expect everyone in his class to have a Phd as well. I feel that his workload and expectation is over kill. He lectures for the entire class and does not have any class participation. Do not expect any breaks and do not expect to leave early.
Luccioni is a terrible professor. No one in my class is aware of what we are doing or how we will pass the test. I am a good student and I still find his class to be overkill. He talks the whole period and mumbles the entire time. He doesn't use the book and he will tell you the book is wrong. Im concerned about passing!
If you are a more hands on learner, Luccioni is not for you. He gives out a study guide for his tests; study the entire thing. Out of 23 essay questions and IDs, only 10 will be on the test and they are randomly selected. He is a great Professor, however, he is very challenging.
He doesn't explain things very well and guess off of topic quite often. He doesn't give any material for the students to physically look at, he rambles on and mumbles when he talks. He only gives 3 tests, not a good thing. He is confusing and he grades horribly. If you don't actually listen to his awful lectures you WILL fail this class. Awful.
Just downright awful. Tough grader. If you don't know the information front to back you will fail. He grades papers as if he expects you to also have a PHD in History. Don't take this class with this professor.
I hate to sound rude but this professor was the worst professor I've had yet. Throughout the whole semester he gives 3 exams and 1 homework (4-5 page paper) so if you fail and exam you're pretty much failing the class too. He starts his lectures start strong then go all over the place. I was very disappointed in taking this class.
Worst class professor I have ever had. All he does is sit behind his desk and talk. He only gives 3 quizzes and 1 homework assignment, which you better pray you pass. Late work is not accepted, even if you were out when it's due. I love history but this guy just about ruined it for me. Save your time and sanity before taking this professors class.
The lectures are insightful and engaging and make having him as an instructor completely worth it even though the class will be very, very tough. If you take solid notes and write down everything he says in class you will have 90% of what you need in order to pass the examinations, which are difficult to say the least: long essay heavy.
This professor kept the class very interesting. He constantly supplied visuals to help aid the learning processes. He was very enjoyable to listen to. My advice would be sit in the front of the class, pay attention to EVERYTHING he says during class, & take great notes. He leads you to the information you need, just pay attention. :) I'd take again
Professor Luccioni is a very intelligent history teacher, he really knows his stuff! His class is just lectures but if youre ok with listening and taking notes then it's fine!He isnt strict with his grading especially if he can tell that you paid attention to what he said. He drops plenty of info he wants to be on the test you just have to listen
Would not take this professor again. Only gives 3 tests for the whole semester and takes forever to grade them. Pretty much self taught everything in order to pass the class.
He's such a nice guy. He is very knowledgeable in history and I didn't realize when I selected the course that he has a PhD in history: unfortunately he grades like you should too. There's no homework & only 3 years so if you didn't do well on 1, you'll have a hard time getting a good grade. He talks all class long. Not joking. Pls avoid
This class hard 2 pass. He grades harsh takes off points for missing small details. Mumbles and is boring while lectures Hes heartless I miscarried my twins and he gave me a 0 on exam with No makeup Don't take him Professor chris is better. He cares look 4 prof gennari U want a professor with passion and cares 4 students its christopher g
Use the textbook if you're unclear, he's information heavy during his lectures so focus on good notetaking. He does ramble and sidetrack abit, however don't underestimate him! He's willing to work with you if you work, don't expect A/B if you skip or don't take notes. Overall, good professor and knows his stuff and he cares for you. Will take agian
Knows what he's talking about like he's lived in the times but gets very carried away and side tracked. Mumbles a lot also so sometimes not understandable. Only 3 exams so not crazy with them but have to be super specific with ID's on exam
This professor is unorganized rambles goes off of topic and doesnt have time 2 cover all test material He expects u 2 know all dates people and events 2 pass essay exams He takes points off 4 missed info Others told me 2 register 4 see gennari who teaches so u learn I have a D and I'm retaking it with chris gennari helps u pass He cares not Mark.
FOR THE SAKE OF YOUR SANITY DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!!!! I've always been great at history until I took this guy's class. Never in my life have I been in a class this hard. He only gives 3 grades the entire semester and they're all exams with essays. If you take this guy's class be prepared to cry and have mental break downs a lot.
This class is very difficult 2 pass. Lectures go all over the place and doesn't stay on track with syllabus. He takes points off 4 missing info. I have 2 retake it again missing the c- by 1 point. He didn't care. I should read the suggestions here and took Chris gennari. Anyone would have taught better than this boring guy. Avoid him. No good 4 u
I had the professor, enjoyed the class, got an A. Take good notes, learn all the info on the study sheet, and oh, study for the exam and you can pass. Life isn't always multiple choice, sometimes you have to face essay questions. A lot of these reviews sound like a lot of whining to me from people that didn't put the work in and now regret it.
This man says a test every 5 weeks. BEWARE! His first test was week 10! and its entirely essay tests. its a week away from the summer and we have no received Ur test 2 grade or info on the final. also you must know only what he says
Professor Luccioni is not as bad of a professor as everyone seems to think. I found in my class that most of the people who struggled were the ones who did not pay attention to the lectures and didn't take notes. Therefore, I would be prepared to take good notes and then study them extensively for the tests in order to pass.
This professor kept the class very dull. He constantly got lost in lectures. He was very boring to listen to. My advice would be find another professor. He leads in different directions of material and babbles. He also had to ask us for help when lecturing. No breaks provided. It was a very long hr an half of listening to confusion.
This ratings on here are weird. To pass class, take good notes, record class lectures, review and listen to them, read chapters, study notes, study key terms, review everything, ask him questions about key terms and exam essay questions, he will help is very detailed orainted. You need to put in effort u can pass if u do all the above. Go for it
He wants u to learn material. Listen to lectures, take notes, study terms and inform. Outline chapters and do the he, ask for help. You can pass with work ask him what he wants. U can succeed if u study and listen
Study, and listen well to lectures, ask questions. If u write the information he gives u on exams u can pass his class. History is important to learn, people and effects can impact both past and present. Listen to the wise professor and u can be successful in school and life. Best wishes.
Very passionate about history however would never recommend anyone to take him. Extremely tough grader and does not respond to emails
He talks fast and lectures all over the place. He only writes words on board and he takes a lot of points off of exams for missed things.
Very plain professor, if you want to fall asleep when he is talking take this class
Talks the whole hour and 15 and goes off topic. Very quite and its easy to fall asleep in class. Only writes names on the board so its hard to follow and take notes. He knows his stuff though, can answer about any question. Only have 3 test and I pretty much retained no Important information from class so I self taught to pass. DO NOT TAKE!
He is awful. Never responds to am email. He talks down to you in class and lectures the whole time. You have 3 grades thats it so you better not do poorly on one. He knows what he is talking about but can never follow along. So easy to fall asleep even when you try everything to stay awake.
I had Professor Luccioni for World Civilization I. He is super easy going and youll pass as long as you study. I took notes during his lectures. I studied ONLY the night before the exam and got a 94. As long as u remember dates youll be fine! He is a great professor and his class was super easy! Cant imagine how anyone failed his class. Easy A!
Only prof I have that penalizes your grade attendance-wise. Im fully accountable for my fail, however I still find it an awful thing to do in the middle of a pandemic where sometimes ppl have no choice. I would suggest taking this class with a different prof if given the chance. His email answering skills are abysmal as well. Overall no bueno
I was stuck at an Alternative High School for two years and not learning the skills I needed for this class. Luccioni was great at helping me get up to speed. Lectures feel very disorganized and if you get take-home tests, be prepared to spend lots of time and energy on them. Also, take very good notes and follow his advice on essays.
Long lectures with no breaks and only graded by 3 exams. He often got side tracked during lectures. His notes were term just written on the board. I only received a passing grade by recording his lectures and listening to his lectures and fast forwarding to key term points.
The lectures are very long. He goes back and forth on topics. He gives no breaks. He writes key terms on the board and lectures the concepts. He is hard to follow. Essays you have to quote him word for word, if you miss points you get points off of the question.
