I love this professor. He is the best teacher at the university and knows how to keep students interest.
Get this man a wet bar and a corner office!
This instuctor gives away A's and teaches a pop culture version of history, this explains his popularity, but his methods are a diservice to his students, as they will find out latter. If you want an A without learning anything take his classes.

Excellent teacher. Very interesting!
By far the best lecturer at SSU.
If you have had one class of his, you have had them all. He tends to tell the same 'side stories' over and over. He needs a life. I guess if you want a decent grade, with half the work, take his classes.
This guy is a god! He knows his history--fills it with life. Outstanding!
Most intelligent individual I ever encountered. I had 6 courses with him--especially enjoyed the lectures on ancient Egyptian religion, the Spanish Inquisition, and the social consequences of the Industrial Revolution.
Join the "Church of Mirabello"! Excellent professor and friend.
Very interesting!
hE IS AN ALRIGHT PROFESSOR BUT I WOULD NOT RECOMMAND HIM TO ANYONE CAUSE HE HAS A WARPED SENCE OF HUMOR.
This guy is too cool for school. I love all of his classes. long live mirabello!
Great speaker...history God...he knows all and will go off on a tangent about anything.
I found him to be very enjoyable to listen to.
Best professor I've ever had...has a warped mind sometimes, but as a professor...awesome!
Dr. Marabello's classes are interesting, but some of the material he teaches as facts are suspect(expecially in his Early Christian and Intellectual History courses) When I started Grad School, reciting what I learned in his classes did not go over very well with other History professors Be warned!
The most knowledgeable person I've ever encountered. I've had plenty of prof's and this was hands down my favorite.
Really enjoyed his class. Interesting to the point I never wanted to miss class. A History Trivia King! Brought out the important info but included enought "Stuff" to make you listen and retain. I liked him, his teaching & testing style, and the material!
Mirabello is a very interesting dude. I look forward to taking his classes again learning the "dark side" of history.

Very Informational, willing to help students, no attendance policy, if you miss a test you can make it up whenever as long as its before the final

This History professor is a model for them all. His tests are not terribly easy but his way of holding attention and getting information across does help you remember what he said. Definately recommended, and definately worth meeting class to hear.
Simply the best instructor I have ever had and probably the most interesting person I have ever met. I miss taking his classes immensely.
Dr. Mirabello is THE best professor on campus. His lectures are so interesting and you will learn more in his class than anywhere else. He is so intelligent but not over your head nor does he pretend to be superior. I definitely recommend everyone to take at least one of his classes.
History lectures never seemed like they could be interesting until I took Mirabello's history courses. He is very learned about everything he teaches. And he's hot.
he's an oddity, and I have to question some of facts he teaches. but he's very entertaining, and interesting. i think he's off-base on *some* of his facts, but most of it is right on the mark. if you like crazy facts and oddities of history, govt, religion, etc ... take his class. he's really into the macabre too!
The best History professor I have ever had and probablyone of the most interesting I have ever had. I will miss taking his classes immensely.
Mirabello's class subjects are interiesting if you can sit there through tangent after tangent you might learn something from his vast knowledge
Mr. Mirabello is quite intelligent but a very easy professor. Anyone taking his classes are pretty much assured a good grade. I don't think everything he teaches is accurate or relevant but it is an easy A.
Well... if you're looking for an easy A, you've found the right professor. However, he is knowledgable about the material and he is always adding additional commentary about the subjects. WARNING... he does get off topic easily which can make taking notes and paying attention difficult.
Mirabello is the best instructor ever! His lectures are so interesting, and he makes them fun as well. He has alot of tangets and little known facts that only Mirabello could tell. I'd advise everyone at SSU to take at least one class with him during thier time here!
A must take professor, easy going and maybe certifiably insane. Any student that takes his class will come away with an altered view on whatever subject the class covers
He is very nice.I admit in high school i wasnt so keen on history ,but i had a nazi germany class with him and i would takke all my classes with h im if i could.
I have taken Mirabello every quarter since I've been here. He is a great teacher. His info. is very interesting. Take good notes and you will get a good grade.
Awsome!! you must take him!! And it does not hurt that he is absolutly adorable
Mirabello isn't god, he just knows more than god.
An amazing professor who knows... well, quite a lot. People who complain they learned nothing obviously were sleeping. If you do what you're supposed to (that is, pay attention in class), you'll learn a plethora of facts about obscure things you may not have thought about. Highly recommended!
Although he's very knowledgable about history, I am somewhat dumber after taking his classes. The only problem is, he can't stay on topic. He also gives a letter grade and thats it! You can show up for all classes and get an A. The moron sitting next to you can show up twice and get the same A. It doesn't make sense?
I really enjoyed the subject but Mirabello can not stay focused on the subject. Now don't get me wrong because everything that he says is interesting, it just makes it very hard to take notes. It kind of makes me mad that he places so little emphasis on attendance. Some people only show up for exams and still EASILY pass with at least a C.
Wonderful Professor.
Great professor, knows a lot about the subject. Very interesting class but could be boring when he went off on his frequent tangents. Highly recommended..easy class..exams were essay format where u write as much as u know about the subject so pretty simple.
I THINK DR.M. IS VERY INTERESTING,HE'S PRETTY FUNNY TOO.
I took the medieval history class. I absolutely loved it! It was the only class I looked forward to. He does tend to drift off subject, which can be kinda hard to take notes, but he is so funny and interesting. It would be really hard to fail the class. Just pay attention and take notes and you'll be fine. I got an A-.
Ok, I've already rated him once before for my last class and am taking him again. Some of the other comments are just silly. He teaches things that other professors are afraid to teach and the stuff they don't want you to know. He is very good. he is a "no-****" kind of teacher, the info he presents is what is real, not just the "clean" stuff.
I have taken Professor Mirabello and I have read all his books, including the new one that will be coming out. An interesting guy! Also, the most informed person I know! he covers a vast number of areas, from a class on Crime and Terrorism, to one on Nazi Germany, to well, you get the idea.
Mirabello is an awesome professor! He knows so many interesting facts. Anyone that thinks his sources are questionable obviously doesn't spend hours studying like Mirabello does. He lets you know when some lecture materials are based on beliefs. He is a respected professor, how would he benefit from purposely misleading students? Anyways, he rocks!
The most interesting and enthusiastic teacher I have ever had. He really seems to enjoy what he does and he comes to work every day to teach. His class is very exciting and he has a good sense of humor. He gets off the subject easily but that makes his class fun.
Dr. Mirabello is the most amazing Professor to ever step foot at Shawnee State University. Not only is he incredibly smart and interesting, but he is very nice to look at while he is teaching. For all you haters out there, go take someone else's class and leave the seats open for the Mirabello admirers!
This Professor rocks my world!I wonder if he is single?
Is love what I feel for Dr. Mirabello? I think so. I have never been so totally entrawed with *every* aspect of a Professor. Mirabello had me at Hitler.
Going to class was more like fun than class. It was really interesting stuff, very entertaining...except if I ever hear the word "incidentally" again, I will shoot myself in the foot.
Mirabello is the most intelligent man on campus. Classes are interesting, and he will change the way you look at reality. All the best students take his classes, but, because he is an easy grader, you will see a few morons in the class as well!
I know everyone on campus worships him, but for someone really serious about folklore or alternative religions, you will be disappointed by his random factoid approach to lecturing. He is a walking encyclopaedia though. One kid never attended class, took the final and got a B...super easy grade! Take his class to bring up your GPA.
Fantastic prof. He doesn't just lecture, spurting out facts, but really makes you think about the subject. He also gets more attractive as the class goes on;)
Easy A for zero effort. Just understand that most historians do not see things the way he does. You get the weird stuff with this one, and only the weird stuff. it's interesting only if you don't already know something about the subject. Instead of teaching about cults, he has his own with his students as followers. People dig him.
This professor is awesome! You can learn so much from his classes and if its something your interested in, its amazing!
This professor is amazing! I have had him for three classes now. He gets off topic a bit, but other than that he is a great prof! as long as you attend class and take notes his classes are easy. The man knows just about everything about the subjects he teaches and i wish there were more professors like him
Had this prof for Nazi Germany, and he ROCKS. He knows his stuff.
Mirabello is a wonderful professor. I took many of his courses and although it seems like he goes off on random tangents, if you actually attend class and pay attention instead of ripping notes off of someone you will learn interesting, useful, and meaningful things. If you have a problem with his courses you should probably turn your brain on bec
He's amazing, and is full of information. I wish he'd explain what HE believes in. I'd love to know.
Easily my favorite prof. His classes are great, but you really have to show up to learn anything. And to be honest, I'm curious to know what goes on in his bedroom...
This guy's fantastic. His classes are so informative (although attendance isn't required, you have to show up to learn). He doesn't teach history, he teaches life. He's like Buddha. With hair. And without the belly. Or a peaceful philosophy. Also, he's kind of a vampire, so he teaches from first hand experience. Because he was there.
It should be a requirement to take at least one of this guy's classes. Very informative and EXTREMELY random. You'll learn way more than what's on the class description. Incredibly fun.
Dr. Mirabello is another professor I have had several times and his classes cover interesting material. I suggest a recorder especially if you can't write quickly. I would suggest any of his classes to people. Amazing professor and attendance is important.
Excellent teacher. He knows so much about his field of study and will tell you so much stuff that will continue to draw you in and want more. Pretty easy test as long as you pay attention in class.
Keep students interested. Must have as your professor.
My muse.
Great!
Super easy. Don't need to show to pass. Doesn't take attendance and you do zero assignments. Only midterm and final, which are super easy, but are both worth 50% of your grade. I would definitely take Mirabello again!
Dr. Mirabello is probably the single most intelligent man I have ever met. He knows so much about history that I never would have imagined existed. Once you start listening to him talk, you won't be able to stop. Best professor I have ever had!
Seriously an awesome guy! talks about interesting stuff, and its a super easy class. Need a credit? take him!!!
He is very smart and has a funny, dry humor. I thoroughly enjoy his lectures and his his life experiences with his teaching. I would highly recommend taking his class. His midterm and final was not hard. Just go to class and you will do good. His book that he wrote goes along with his class. Teaches straight from the book.
I absolutely loved his class, from the Romans to the Vikings, I was interested the entire semester. If you show up to class and take good notes, then the exams will be easy. The exams that are given are basically essay exams where you regurgitate every detail you can remember from your notes, the more you write, the better your grade.
Mirabello is definitely one of the best at SSU. He is SO intelligent & even though the course is all lecture with only a midterm & final, it is still easy to pass if you go to class. Don't stress out about taking a ton of notes. Just listen to the lectures. They're so interesting that you'll learn a lot!
Passionate about what he was teaching. You could tell it interested him and he was very knowledgeable on the subject. Only 2 tests to take. There was never any homework. As long as you show up to the lectures and take good notes, you'll pass. Sometimes his lectures are hard to follow, so pay attention.
Grades are based only on Midterm and Final. I didnt do well on my Midterm but did on my Final and ended up with a B. His test is literally writing down everything you remember from his lectures on whatever topic you choose he has covered.
A sociologist must acknowledge the effect of supernatural beliefs on social and cultural values. A look into the past provides insight into the present. Professor M's classes are entertaining, enlightening, and educational.
I don't even know where to start. He doesn't use PowerPoints, give handouts, or offer any supplementary material. You have to write down every single things he says, which is difficult because he doesn't slow down ever. Starts class early when only half of the students are there. Makes insensitive jokes, not caring, and just all around unhelpful.
Show up and pass. Very laid back class.
Professor Mirabello declares he believes historians must make the dead come alive, not put the living to sleep. Mirabello does thatin spades. Best professor in the galaxy!
Ive taken all of Dr Mirabellos courses offered and have enjoyed them all. Its 100% lecture and note taking. He goes off on tangents, your grade is based on a midterm and final - both extended responses. If you can remember anything that he mentioned in a tangent, and insert it into your test it will boost your grade. 1 of my favorite profs.
Dr. Mirabello is one of the most interesting history professors at Shawnee. His lectures may be very long but he puts the most effort into them to make them interesting. His dry sense of humor also adds to his lectures. Make sure you take him!
I took a history class with Professor Mirabello for a history credit for my Accounting major and it has been hands down the most interesting class Ive taken. The content covered in his class is interesting and Ive learned more from it than I have anything in my four years at Shawnee. 10/10 would recommend.
Mirabello is completing his fifth book, he has been in film documentaries, television programs, radio shows, and has been a guest on more than 30 podcasts, but he loves to teach and he shows it. He says he likes "to make the dead come alive. Take this guy!
He only lectures and gives two exams. You just have to remember the material he covers in class then write down some of those stories for the exam. He likes for you to write in pen. If you are good at listening and remembering then you will do great in this class. I rated him as easy because you have 0 outside work from this course.
His class consisted of him lecturing for the entire duration, and grades were determined through midterm and final. I loved his lectures and the tests were easy. We'd go over x topics in class, then the tests would be "Choose x topics from this list and write as much as you remember about them", I wrote 1-2 pages of bullet points and got an A.
