Not gonna lie his lectures were kinda slow and couldn't really participated. But he was so passionate about the reading and it was a very chill class. Easy A. There were 3 essay "exams" that consisted of 6 questions that he gives beforehand and all the answers are in the handouts and notes from class. Try not to skip a lot of classes.

He's very knowledgeable about Philosophy and the Plato Republic book. There aren't very many tests or assignments. He gives good lectures, and gives us good notes, telling us which questions will be on the exam. Very friendly too. He suggests reading the book, but you can do well by just taking notes from the lectures. 10/10 would recommend.

The whole class is just lecture, every single class. Youre only graded on the 3 exams which i was able to find answers to on quizlet and a paper at the end. Lectures were over Plato's Republic which we were supposed to read... i didnt read it and i got a B. I also managed to sit in the back and watch youtube or work on other homework without questi

Dr. Noes loves what he does, which is talking and lecturing to his students about philosophy. He lectures in every class. He grades very easily-essay questions on each exam. However, don't bother emailing him if you're looking for a response. If you need to take this class, he is overall, a good choice.

I was excited to take a Philosophy class and am super glad I took it with him as a Professor. I found the lectures very interesting because we didn't just read from the book, he connected it to real life and made very interesting points. His tests are straight forward and as long as you listen in class they were easy! Would definitely recommend!

I took Mark for Philosophy of Religion and it was the easiest class Ive ever taken. Aside from a few papers, its an effortless class. He seems to not really know what hes talking about, and everyone in class just uses their phones or laptops. Easy class overall.

Prof. Moes is VERY knowledgeable in his field but he seemed to have difficultly "dumbing" down the info to suit the 101 level of this course. Absolutely ZERO professor-student engagement during class- this class is pure lecture. Lecture heavy and graded by a few things. No homework though

He cares a lot about philosophy. But he is the worst professor I've ever had. He lectures all hour with zero discussion from the class. At the beginning he seemed fine but as the semester progressed he increasingly talked about sex and sexual things in such a crude manner it made the entire class uncomfortable and detracted from everyone's learning

Great Professor, he knows so much about PH and enjoy teaching it. 3 exams and he will give you the exact questions to review that will be on the exam. and 1 paper that's it.

Everything is a little different with the pandemic but I really enjoyed his class. Only had to do 3 papers and they're not very hard. Easy enough course but still very interesting to learn about. Very interesting to hear his point of view on religion after all the years he's been studying philosophy. Would recommend him to other students.

Professor Moes is very knowledgable in the field of philosophy. The whole class is just lecture. The exam questions are posted online ahead of time as well. **Print out handouts and take notes on those, it will make the exams SO easy to prepare for** Overall an easy A if you prepare for exams and practice ahead of time.

the class is entirely based upon one book that is quite confusing. the entire class is all lectures, and your grade is only made up of 4 exams, and one essay at the end. he does give the exam questions before the exam, but overall i did not enjoy this class

I found Mark to be an extremely nice guy. The class takes work but nothing too extreme. Study guides are the same as the exam and you get them plenty of time before to prepare yourself and study. All lectures are recorded online. The whole class points are from 3 exams and 1 paper each 25% of your grade. I recommend him for an easy grade.

Professor Moes was pretty chill tbh. Most of his lectures were interesting, but I never really read the book he wanted us to. The only grades we had were from 3 tests which were pretty easy as long as you filled out the study page. Attendance for me wasn't mandatory due to COVID, but you'd probably pass regardless. One thing though, he's p awkward.

I took Mark Moes for PHI 101 and it is a really boring class to follow. He is a nice guy and knows his stuff. He lectures all hour and has no participation. When it comes to the exams, he gives you the exam questions prior to the exam.

Class was listening to him lecture for the entire class and then taking the exams. The exam felt like short responses as he wanted 6 points for each of the 6 prompts. He gives you 7 possible prompts to study. There's a 4-5 page essay which is a longer response to 1 of the exam prompts. Study the handout that best answer each prompt to do well.

Professor Moes class is taught by lecture. He is very passionate about the material and likes to ramble so my recommendation would be to go to his documents section in Black Board and print off the exam questions paper and take that to class. Those are the questions on the test and the only material is 3 tests and a paper. Studying is key.

I could talk about this man forever, he is a great prof who is very passionate about what he teaches, there's only 3 exams and one final paper, he is so laid back and not a tough grader at all, if you want an easy blow off class take him, he cusses a lot which is funny and there's literally no homework, please take this class.
