Dr.Morgan-Tracy was a WONDERFUL teacher. He puts his lecture notes up online and follows them almost 100%. I didn't have to read the book because his notes were so comprehensive. He's very helpful and may not give you the exact answer to a hw question, but will work with you until you understand what you're doing. If you work hard, you'll do well.

Very sweet man! He was very approachable during office hours. The tests were straightforward and fair. If you needed a little bit of help on tests, he'd help you. Mind you, he didn't give you the answers, but helped prod you in the right direction. I learned a lot in his class! If I was taking more physics, I'd definitely try to have him again!

Great physics professor. He is funny and keeps the lectures interesting, which is very important to learning and passing a physics course. Tests are somewhat difficult(it's Physics) but he curves and sometimes allows make up credit. His homework assignments are just the right amount of work. I wouldn't hesitate to take a class from him again.

Tough class but good professor. I had Mark for physics I and II. Dr. Morgan-Tracy makes physics fun. He is funny and explains everything clearly. He is very helpful so go to his office hours regularly. His tests are quite difficult but he usually throws in a makeup question or two. Work hard and you will get a good grade.

Great professor. Nice guy. Good sense of humor, and interest in the material. You MUST read the book to do well. Tests can be challenging but he often gives extra time. My only complaint is the use of online homework system, for homework and 2-3 question reading quizzes. Seems like babysitting, but it is a 100 level course.

Professor Morgan-Tracy is one of the best professors I have had at UNM. He is super helpful and makes the class fun. Physics is already interesting, but he makes it fun. His humorous approach, intentional or not, made it easier to drive from Rio Rancho to the 9:00 AM class.

He also posts full solutions -not just answers- of the homework. (Of course you have turned in the homework first). If I were a professor I would want to be like him.

Morgan Tracy reminds me that there is good in the world. I got stuck in the worst group for the semester and he apologized and put me with a better one for the second semester. He is incredibly fair and genuinely cares about students in his class. Probably one of the best professors I've ever had.

If you study, the tests aren't that hard (10 mult. choice questions and a free response part); they're mostly about concepts. Seriously Dr. MT is just an amazing person in general. His goal is to have you pass the class. Take advantage of his numerous office hours. He'll literally save you from the homework. The class is tough and you have to work really hard but if you take it with him and keep up on your work and tests you will not fail. He's the best out there.

Dr. MT is amazing! He'll even meet you outside office hours. The Written HW and Mastering Physics every week really help solidify what you learn in lecture and reading. He'll take the harder concepts from the book and he'll teach it to you in a simpler way (with science jokes at times). TAKE HIM!

BEST professor ever at UNM He explains everything clearly, gives open note exams (+ partial credit), practice exams, group worksheets and there might be a weekly homework assignment + some mastering physics but it's not that bad (use office hoursGoogle). All tests are open notes. Very accommodating. It would be hard to get any less than an A in the class, assuming you do the bare minimum work. Very helpful if you ask him questions.

He was very helpful and held lots of office hours. If you are ever confused in the class he is there to help. Also, the grade is based off more than just tests which is nice. The tests are also open note and he is very straightforward about the questions that will be on them.

You have to be willing to put in the work but he will help and he always stays in office hours until everybody is done. He is so nice and so helpful. Lectures are very concise. Holds ample OH. Dr. MT is very approachable and accommodating. He does care for his students. It honestly should not be hard to get an A in his class as long as you do the homework and understand it, since tests are based on the homework.

Awesome professor, one of my favorites. I took his smaller section, which has no in-class lectures but group worksheets. I liked this style because you practice the material many times and he posts lecture videos online. Very helpful, he has several office hours. You'd have to try your best to be awful to not do well in this class.

Best professor ever. If he could give us what would be on the test, he would. 2% extra credit at end of semester if you do the work. Its physics so some material is hard but if you go to office hours and CAPS you will do just fine. Didn't seem like we had a lot of work but this class ruled my life with how much time I had to put in.

One of the best professors I've ever had. He formatted class so that we got to work together with classmates. Our only homework was written homework, and tests were mostly conceptual, which represented the material. Homework was challenging, but helped a lot with material. He had a LOT of office hours (10/week)and was always available. Amazing!

Dr. Morgan Tracy is my favorite professor! I am sad that I won't be taking any more classes with him. Make sure to do homework (all the written homework, at the least) and study for exams (which are fair, and much easier than the Mastering Physics work).

Morgan Tracy is an amazing professor. Had him for both physics classes. He is always willing to help you and make sure you succeed in the class. I RECOMMEND doing the online homework so that you are able to drop one of the exams. Show up to get clicker points since it is 10% of the grade. He gives EC at the end as well. I failed physics 1 and 2 with professor goldflam and almost got discouraged with taking any physics classes at UNM. Once reading through this site about this teacher I thought I would give it a try. Sure enough this teacher will make sure to give you all the tools you need to be successful. Best teacher for gen physics classes. Highly recommend.

If you have to take 162 definitely wait until the summer to take it from Dr. MT. He is extremely helpful outside of class and will help walk you through anything you are stuck on. He is more than a fair grader. He wants to ensure you have the concepts and fundamentals more than tedious derivations and calculations! I wish he taught every class!!

Morgan-Tracy really takes time to make sure you know what's going on. His lectures are informative and well-paced. I got by not reading the text book all the time, but it can enhance the lectures if you choose to read. Morgan-Tracy has got some jokes, too. He makes physics kinda enjoyable!

In high school, I developed a phobia to physics thanks to my awful teacher. Naturally, I would never really imagine myself sitting in a physics lecture hall in college. That all suddenly changed when I sat in Dr. MT's class! He is such a wonderful person, and I wake up in the morning psyched for each and every physics lecture. Two words: take him!

It sucks that I cant take Physics II with MT, cause hes legit. Super accessible office hours, very flexible with the pandemic, makes pre-lecture videos (infinitely better than a textbook), engaging lectures. Do the HW and go to office hours, and youll at least pass even if physics is not your thing. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. (Online lecture format)

You can tell he cares about his job and his students, he is very approachable and does not assign a crazy amount of homework. Definitely one of my favorites at UNM so far!

If youre premed and are afraid of physics but have to take it, Dr. Morgan-Tracy is your saving grace. Lots of homework and hard work, but it actually pays off. He is SUPER helpful, kind, and knows how to teach physics in a way thats manageable, interesting, and organized. Hes literally an angel on earth compared to past physics teachers.

Possibly the most helpful instructor there is. He has 8-10 total hours during the week where you can come in for help sessions. He's funny and kind and really wants students to succeed. Homework is hard but it prepares you really well for the exams. He allows test corrections and highly encourages students to get help from him.

He offers help sessions at least twice a week and I recommend these all the time even if you grasp the material. One thing about this course is you have to read and participate in the quizzes to stay on top or else you will be behind.

DMT is probably by far one of the best professors at UNM. He is so good at his job, and is passionate about his concept reaching student. I never really understood physics, but he helped me. Attend class/ lecture and you'll have everything you need to pass. Also his help sessions are gold! attend those when u get the chance. Love this class!

The way he lectures may not be for everyone, it's mostly a set of multiple choice questions with iclickers and then explains the answers afterwards since the preclass lectures tend to have more information on the material. He also offers test corrections and has many help sessions for the best opportunity to do well in the class.

Absolutely, he is the man you should take for physics. He understands how difficult physics can be and is accommodating enough to where you can and will pass the class as long as you put in effort. He is very clear on his grading standards, and you even provides help sessions for you to get your work done with his help before the weekend.

The lecture style can vary a bit depending on the section, but overall he does a great job making sure that all his classes know the content. He is accessible and offers several office hours times where you can present questions and he will give 1:1 explanations. Mark Morgan-Tracy is hands down the best instructor I have had for any class, at any of the three colleges I've attended. Material is sometimes confusing, but if you reach out for help in office hours or help sessions then you will be just fine.

Dr. MT is a professor whose class you will get out what you put in. He is by far the best Physics I/II professor you can take, and as long as you attend his help sessions and watch his review videos, you're essentially guaranteed an A. He makes it easy to make up a class if you're gone, but try and go if you can help it.

Dr. Mark is the best professor I have had in my college career . He is very kind and easily approachable. Lectures are very clear and he posts them online if you miss class or need a refresher. His office hours are extensive and will stay longer for any students that need extra help. If you need any assistance, don't be afraid to reach out to him.

Definitely the hardest class not required by my major. Still, Dr Morgan-Tracy made it bearable. The online homework is some of the hardest I've ever had, but is doable. I had never taken a physics class before and Prof. Morgan Tracy made this as easy as possible for me. His teaching and the style of his class was very simple and easy to learn from. Dr. MT was one of the best professors I've taken to date. His class is very organized with clear grading criterias so it's hard to fail his class. Keep with with the homework and watch his reviews before each test and you will get a good grade in the class. He was a great professor and would love to take him again.

Tracy is an awesome professor. He provides pre-class material to watch before the lectures that have an assignment with them. There's weekly homework on MyPearson and written. There's a lot of work, but it's necessary. He uses iclickers for attendance but if you don't show up, there's opportunities to complete it online. The tests are easy too.

Professor MT is the goat, he's arguably the most caring professor you'll have in your academic career. There's LOTS of homework for this class but it's necessary. Attendance isn't mandatory, exams are relatively simple, he provides tests corrections and VERY helpful reviews for exams. TAKE HIM!

Written and online homework every week. 4 tests (can drop 1) and one final worth 10% of your grade. Morgan Tracy really cares about his class and is very fair. You can turn in late homework 5 times with no penalty. Test corrections for 60% of points back. Office hours every week where he guarantees full points on written homework. Highly recommend.

Dr. MT treats you like a human. That says a lot compared to a lot of the other STEM professors. Very effective teaching style, he wants to see you succeed. He is great.
