he ie very easy teacher and all exams from his class work
Mark Neeley is an amazing teacher. Anyone who wants to learn math should take this man's class. The best math teacher I have ever taken. You will completely understand everything and tests on what he teaches. No surprises.
he allows you to work at your own pace to a certain extent. He only assigns and collects special homework problems if they are going to be on the test. He does an excellent job of preparing the class for the test. To fail his class is to be an idiot that puts for no effort to learn.
he is a great guy and teaches very well! he knows his stuff and you will too!!!

An excellent instructor who gives clear examples of what material will be covered on his tests. Goes at whatever speed the class needs. Knows the material and the applications; covers what you need to know.
Mark NEELEY (not Neelay) is the best! But you have to want to learn in his class. It's not a coaster class. You must at least try. But he makes it fun; he has a great sense of humor. He's not like some old decrepit professor. He's cool about helping outside of class. Tests are easy, I've had worse.

Neeley is great. The class material is not so easy, but he really explains it well. He gives alternate formulas and different ways to solve problems all the time. Very understanding on a personal level as well.
mark is an excellent math professor! i would recommend this class to anyone that has a hard time understanding math. he is very patient and will take the time to explain math concepts in a way that you can understand. gives little homework so you will have to be committed to learning on your own time as well. i'm taking him again for MAT 151.
This guy filled in for a day in my MAT142 class and totally rocked! He made the subject so clear and easy to understand that the entire class was practically begging for him to take over for the rest of the semester!!! He has a nice calm demeanor and the ability to break a problem down to a very basic level of understanding.
A really good teacher, very helpful, homework once a week and sometimes not even. tests are really hard though. the excelerated class can be dificult because you stuff so much in. But he is very understanding and helps everyone through it.
He is a great teacher, understood everything, nothing left unclear.
Although bland, but someone who teaches what's needed on tests. Assigns problems very similar to test questions, tests cover concepts very well, and only the last questions can be difficult. Great teacher to learn all you need, won't make it easy (it's calculus), but gets you to know everything.
Mark is very calm person but his teaching style is very fast paced. Homework and attendance are not mandatory. He does need improvement on his clothes...definitely not hot!
Great teacher for calculus. Test are very fair. If you do ALL THE HOMEWORK, you WILL get an A. In this class it's more up to the amount of practice you put in. But with neely it's even easier, because his test are so much easier than anyone else.
Really helped alot! Very straight forward! Doesnt make things harder than they should be! Easy good teacher!
Really good teacher, very helpful, a little "all over" the place with topic but willing to explain topics more than once.
This guy breaks down everything for you to barney style. I have not been in school for 8 years and he made everything very understandable and easy.
Mark Neeley is the best professor ever!!!!!I would recommend every one to take him!!!He is very good at explaining and he knows his stuff really well.So far, there isn't a question that he can't answer.I really hope I can take all my math class with him!
Awesome teacher! very highly recomended. He is very clear and is very detailed. wish he taught more classes.
Mr. Neely was a great Elem. Linear Algebra teacher. He taught things clearly, outlined his expectations clearly, and there were no surprises on tests. We covered all of the required material and some extra. I've taken several math courses from MCC, and his class was the best experience I've had to date. I would recommend taking him for any course.
Excellent teacher. He's a math teacher who knows you have a life outside of his class. I had this class a while back and it was easy, but you still learn everything you need to learn. Get in his class!
awsome teacher, its very clear that the material is not easy but he helps brings logic into his teaching as much as he can. he definitely knows the material and is very open to helping. wish more teachers formated their teaching skills to his. I have asked for his help many times via email and he has always gotten back to me , even over the weekend
I thought he was easy, but I am good at math. You don't HAVE to do homework, and the tests are not unbearable. He is great at teaching things in various ways to make sure you understand. The only downside is he does not always understand what you are asking when you ask him a question.
I've also taken MAT122 with Mark Neeley, and now I'm afraid to take math with anyone else! Mr. Neeley is the best math teacher at Mesa Community college no doubt. His homework is optional, yet harder problems and other work can be extra credit. He drops your lowest test grade and offers relevant reviews and study guides. He is AWESOME.
Mr. Neely is a great teacher, wish he could teach all the math i need to take. If you are having trouble in his class you must not be taking the class very serious. Always willing to help and explain to better your understanding. If the time is put in to do the HW and quizes you should do well on the tests. Highly recommend taking him for any math
Very excellent instructor..
I took Professor Neeley's Calc 2 and Linear Algebra classes at the same time and it was very do-able. He takes the time to explain everything very clearly, and would rather put off new material a day if people are lost, rather than continuing on. By far one of the best instructors I have ever had.
Very Great Teacher. you should pay attention to all the tricks he uses to solve problems. Be sure to do well on the quizzes.
Class was hard, but Mr. Neeley is just awesome. So very helpful and clear in his lectures. The quiz and test were a lot easier than the homework assignments. So as long as you keep up with the homework you should do well on the quiz and exams. Excellent instructor!
This is probably one of the best math teacher's in mcc, if your not very good at math, your gonna want to take this class. You get daily quizes that help boost up ur hw grade. His test are slightly hard but if you study, you should have no problem, on the final, you get to bring in a paper of notes as a little help to pass the test. Great teacher!
Awesome teacher. Very clear and he made the class very interesting. show up do the work and hw and you can get an A like me :)
I am terrible at math, so I am so happy I found Mark Neeley. He will explain things as much as needed without making you feel like an idiot. His tests are tough but he drops your worst score and homework and quizzes help you earn points for a better grade. If you have trouble with math Professor Neeley makes it understandable. Excellent teacher!
Very good teacher! He is pleasant to work w/ and is very fair. He has a good since of humor. I would recommend Mr. Neeley to anyone in need of a math course. Someone posted that he drops your lowest test score at the end: he did, now he makes other accommodations. 150 is very hard but if you DO YOUR HW,quizzes & tests you should do just fine.
Probably the best math teacher in MCC, HIGHLY recommended. He has a great sense of humor and is extremely reasonable with homework and grades. If you are bad with math, you should definitely take this teacher.
This professor is one of the best math teachers at MCC. Makes everything extremely clear and breaks math down to the simplest level. Take this professor. You wont regret it.
He was a decent teacher, although the first time I took his class I dropped it because I was failing, and the second time I took it I received a D....so really I'm just an idiot at math, but I'm sure it's not as bad if you actually study and take notes, both of which I did not do much of.
Mr. Neeley is amazing! I had him during the spring semester and I will continue to look for him in the future. As long as you do the homework you'll do fine on his tests. His teaching methods are very clear and is willing to help in anyway he can. He usually uses WebCT, so you can ask questions there and he responds fast :) Best math teacher at MCC
I took Calc 2 with Neeley and the simplicity of his teaching methods are amazing. It was like a kindergarden atmosphere in the class and the same time the material was all covered. I wish he was my teacher for the rest of my classes. A++++
Neeley is the kind of teacher you want for math. He will stop and make sure you understand the material if you are willing to ask questions. Even on tests he may steer you in the right direction without giving away the answer. Always complete the worksheets he assigns because they will help boost your grades on the exams. Awesome teacher!
I withdrew from College Algebra twice before I took it with Professor Neeley, and I have to say that he's the best math teacher I've ever had because he helped me get through the hardest class I've ever taken (yes, I'm bad at math). He is easy to follow along with in class lectures and assigns very fair homeworks and quizzes. Take his class!!
Good Class explains material well. Would take his class in the future.
This guy could teach math to anyone. Simplifies everything, grade based on tests, hw makes up 1/3 missed points on tests, otherwise not required, spends most of class answering questions, I got 100% on all but 2 tests (96 for one 89 for final), if you're not great at math, TAKE THIS GUY!
Best teacher very dedicated to students success he will sit with you for hours and explain something until you understand most teachers wont do that much during office hours
Highly recommended. The tests are fair and he's a generous grader. He keeps things interesting during lecture and has a good sense of humor.
Awesome teacher, really understands how to teach to everyones ability. Tests were fair, maybe one or two tricky ones, but overall a good representation of the notes and homework. Easy grader, the homework and take home quizzes bump up your test scores like crazy. Highly recommend.
BEST MATH TEACHER AT MCC. I had Neeley for math 150 and he made it super easy to understand with his notes in class and hw/quizzes. He is a really easy going guy and understands how to teach students on different learning levels. Overall if you go to class and try Neeley will definitely help you get the grade you want :) TAKE HIM.
he's perfect
Mr. Neeley is a great teacher! He is east to pay attention to and if you are having a problem keeping up he is more than willing to help if you see him during office hours.
Overall he was a pretty good professor. A lot of times on the quizes you would get problems he hadn't gone over in class and the same for the tests to. I took the faster course so most of my work was done outside of class. The good thing is that he offers extra credit. Homework isn't mandatory. Also the tests are NOT mulitiple choice(a good thing)
He's very helpful, patient and is willing to help when you have questions. Take home quiz, gives extra credit, homework not mandatory, but sometimes allows you to turn in for extra credit tests aren't too bad and the final was easy...He's a good professor and wants his students to pass his class.
Mr. Neeley is a fantastic professor. He is very helpful and makes things easy to understnd. If you dont pass its because you didnt try.
Its difficult to do the homework from the book because he doesnt go over examples from the book--he makes up his own. You can tell he gets frustrated when students dont understand the material. (not the students fault) This guy is all over the place when giving you notes/examples. very difficult to follow.
He was nice but he was also very dry. He made me sleepy so I couldn't pay attention. Other than that I guess he's okay.
He is a very helpful professor, but is not the most interesting. I have trouble staying awake in his class, but other than that problem, it's a pretty great class. If you need any help, he'll make sure you get the help you need. The final is also easy too; as long as you do the work that needs to be done, you'll pass the class with flying color.
Mr. Neeley is one of the nicest guys around but as others have stated he does not follow the book examples and makes up his own. He adds problems to the tests that you will not have gone over. He gives extra credit to help. I spent more hours in tutoring than in his class. He likes to use shortcuts on problems so you will have a hard time following
I find math difficult to understand but I thought Mr. Neeley made it easy. In addition, he gives you extra credit to bump up your grade. Great teacher...
He is a great professor. Allows you to do quizzes with people sitting near you. If you don't understand math concepts or just dislike mathematics, Mr. Neeley is your man. Wants you to succeed and makes his notes easy to understand and refer back to. Also I do not understand why he doesn't have a hotness pepper yet. He is HOT!
One of the best math instructors I've had. Yes, a bit dry but he does have good inflection in his voice and he doesn't waste time. Very clear explanations and gives a lot of take home quizzes to boost grade. Tests are challenging and long for a 70 min class. He is available before and after class a lot. Take good notes and attend all classes!
Best math professor I've ever had hands down. Great explanations and really easy to follow. The tests can be challenging, but are certainly reasonable, and he's a lenient grader. Not hard to do well, and you'll learn the material well. Take him!
Hands down best math teacher I've ever had. Very good at explaining things, tries to keep it interesting. Lenient on when things can be turned in and will allow some test corrections if you ask. Very responsive on Canvas, keeps grades up to date online and always answers questions. Take good notes and always attend class!
I didn't do any Homework since it was only %5 of the grade. 15 pop quizzes which you can get help from others and him plus drop the lowest ones. 6 exams and you can drop 2 lowest. he is cool dude
Absolutely loved taking DiffEQ with Neeley. Now that i've moved to University and am taking 400 level classes, I am honestly better off than most of the kids who took DiffEQ at the university. Neeley's class will definitely prepare you for the future, and teach you what you need to know. Easy A if you do the homework and study for the tests.
Professor Neeley is amazing. He takes the time to go through every single step in a problem. He is always willing to help. He really wants everyone to do well and always gives a take home practice quiz before an exam to make sure you know what you are doing. Very lenient on due dates. If you want an easy math teacher, this is the guy!
Mr. Neeley is the best math teacher I have ever had! He is so helpful and gives lots of opportunities to boost up grades. He give partial credit on all his tests (if you earn it) which is nice, and is often willing to add an extra meeting time for study groups.
Mr. Neeley is amazing!! This was the first math class I took in college, and he is by far one of the best math teacher's I eve had! I am terrible at math, but I managed to keep an "A" in his class all semester. The final was hard, so I ended up getting a "B" overall. If you struggle with math, take his class!!
Professor Neeley really cares about his students and will spend whatever extra time needed to explain or help with assignments/concepts. Tests were straight forward, covering only the basic concepts. Homework assignments were light.
Professor Neeley was very clear when explaining the material. Homework assignments were optional, but extremely beneficial. Tests were very straightforward and based strictly on the lectures/optional homework. I gained a greater appreciation for calculus after his class. Thanks Professor Neeley!
Neeley's great. Extraordinarily clear in his teaching, always willing to help, and he actually keeps his class very interesting in just in how application-oriented his teaching method is; he'll tell you how what you're studying can be used in the real world. Will go over homework problems in class if requested. Can't recommend him high enough.
Very helpful. Works problems on the board from homeworks. Gives study guide for the test.
Great teacher! you can tell he enjoys it. this is the 2nd class ive taken from him. He covers the material rigorously, proofs, applications, examples, he'll go through the proof of anything you want. He's the only math teacher I've had that really could. gives out lots of take home quizzes. 2 thumbs up!
He is a really good professor! He knows how to explain his lectures really good. He stops and asks if anyone has questions throughout the lessons and asks if anyone has questions with any homework. He gives good amount of time on math homework.
Neeley is awesome! As someone who struggles with math, it's refreshing to have a teacher who explains a problem multiple ways so all students can grasp the concept. He provides practice exams (so helpful). I recommend getting an online access code (which has an eBook) instead of the textbook. It's very helpful and can help you through HW problems.
Mark Neeley is an amazing professor. I highly recommend taking his class!
He is clear and right to the point with lectures but he could be a little dull and boring. Don't miss class or you will have a harder time with learning the material. Simply take notes and pay attention and you won't fail.
Mark is a really good teacher. Lots of office hours, or he will work with you. The course material is tough, and if you miss more than a lecture, you can fall behind fast. He give s the option of buying the book and doing paper HW or using the online course - I chose the latter because explanations were immediate. Would take Mark again for math
In a word, he is the best in explaining stuff and making you understand. He gives extra credits too. But you'll definitely have to work hard to get a decent grade in this class. Moreover, pay closest attention when he teaching chapter 11(series and sequence stuff). This chapter is usually hard and can make you drop from A to B easily.
Don't expect homework will be reviewed but you had better do it and comprehend it. The tests will expose your weaknesses. You could wing it but you better say a few prayers as well then. Do the work and you'll pass.
Mr. Neeley is truly a gifted professor. I struggled in math my whole life, but because of him, I got an A in Trig. He gives you a review before the test with an answer key, and if you do the review, you will pass the test. Homework is very beneficial but he doesn't grade it. Lecturesnotes are very clear. Wish I could take him again!
He is a wonderful teacher, he does a good job of explaining the material and makes algebra very easy to understand. I will make sure I have him again when I have the chance.
Neeley is an excellent teacher. He is always more than willing to back track if even one person isnt understanding the material. Where most teachers would say "That's just the way it is" Neeley takes the time to explain the why's of the subject matter instead of just how to plug and chug the numbers. This is great for future engineers! A+ Rating
Neeley is a great professor. Very accessible during office hours and willing to help when you have questions. Tests can be tough but he is pretty fair with grading. Homework is not graded but to understand the material you need to do it. Also he does check if you did it so it could factor in you passing if on the edge.
Very good at explaining topics. Makes sure everyone knows material
He. Is. Awesome. Super good at teaching, very clear. Homework is optional, although he gives take home quizzes that are ok, and you can get help on them with others until they are due. Tests are basically an accumulation of the quizzes, and they aren't super hard, because he covers his ground REALLY well. I failed this class twice, then I aced his.
He is a great guy and teacher. He did not require any homework to be done, but you are expected to know the content. If you do poorly on tests however, its pretty much game over. He is a relatively lenient grader, but contrary to others on here, I do not feel his lectures were very clear. Still not confident I even know what DiffEQs are...
Great professor!
You entire grade is based on 4 tests (including the final), all worth equal number of points. On a test, if you do the procedure properly, but mess up on the calculations, he'll give you 70-80% credit. If you pay attention in class every day and do at least some homework, the tests are pretty easy. Skip a class and it gets tough.
Neeley was great for differential equations. The fact that the majority of the grade is based on 4 exams may seem daunting, but the exams themselves are not overwhelmingly difficult. As long as you study and do the practice quizzes he hands out, you will do fine.
I had previously taken MAT122 with Mr. Neeley, and after that I knew I had to take him again. From my experience, he goes at a good pace for the other students and has an abundance of resources to make sure anyone can succeed if they put the work in. He is one of the best teachers I've ever had and by far the best math teacher I've ever had.
Really great teacher, responds to emails almost immediately. Also will answer any question asked. Really great to take him if you want to understand math.
Great teacher, fair grader on tests. People complained about him getting annoyed with in class questions, but he has limited time to go over quite a bit of material and keeps regular office hours where he is always more than willing to help you. His tests are more difficult than the review lets on so be sure to go over harder problems. Recommended!
Great teacher, strict, but does an amazing job of explaining.
He's a really good teacher, patient and kind. He's explains the topic thoroughly in a simple was, he gives you a different perspective to understanding math. I would take his class over again absolutely!
One of the best math teachers I have ever had. He never assumes you know something, he also takes time to answer your question till you really understand it regardless of how much class time it takes.
Professor Neely is a very kind, knowledgeable and patient with students. His tests are very easy if you do your homework. He doesnt offer extra credits. There are quizzes prepared for each exams, hes willing to work through them then turns it in for full credits. I follow him from MAT122 to MAT150 and I would take his class again!!
He is the best teacher that I ever had, he responses your message immediately. He will let you turn in all of the homework on Exam day. He is very kind, I will definitely take him again.
I was worried going into Calculus II because it has a reputation for being difficult. The biggest challenges were memorizing formulas and methods of integration. Prof. Neeley's lectures were very entertaining and he was clear about which topics were important to study for every exam. I'm looking forward to taking another one of of his classes.
The lectures were entertaining and easy to follow. He was very clear about what was on each exam and made sure the material was covered well in class. The book wasn't required but is nice to have to read over the theorems. As long as you do the quizzes, you will do very well in his class.
Awesome instructor. I had been previously struggling with this class and it was my 2nd time taking it, so I was discouraged at the beginning of the semester. He really cares about each student and is willing to work with them individually. He walked me through many math concepts until I fully grasped them. Would highly recommend!
Professor Neeley is a great teacher and you can tell he enjoys his job. For my class we had 6 total chapter tests and he took the best 5 plus the final as your total grade. He also put in all of our homework for the semester as a test grade. Professor Neeley is a super nice guy and is always available if you need him. I highly recommend him!
I had this teacher during COVID virtually online. It actually wasn't bad. I thought he was a great teachers. retunes emails in a timely manor. Does go online during the day if you have any questions. Very reasonable. Test are all "take home". Not bad at all. I know some people probably think this but the test isnt on the "lock down".
Mr. Neeley was hands down one of the best math teachers that I've ever had. He explained everything slowly and thoroughly and made sure everyone understood the concepts. Even though this was an online course, he set it up so that the tests were "open book" and he even answered questions that I had about the tests. Don't hesitate to take his class!
I thoroughly enjoyed his calc 2 class. His hand-out notes were super helpful and he did a great job explaining concepts in class. I plan to take linear algebra and modern dif eq with him as he is hands down the best math professor I've had. If you do the homework and pay attention in class you'll do fine on the exams.
Awesome math professor!
Neeley has my complete respect. He is very knowledgeable and his lectures are informative. He doesn't just teach you the math. He teaches you where it came from, and why it works. Truly a gem of a professor.
This is probably the best professor I have had at this school. He's caring, he gives great feedback, he gives students the opportunity to learn things beyond the curriculum, and his tests are always fair. Professor Neeley connects what we are doing to the real world, and gives us many examples of why what we learn will be useful to us in the future
Prof. Neeley was a great guy. I wish he taught a night MAT151 class because he knows his stuff. Easiest math class I have ever taken! 10/10
He is THE BEST! I struggle a lot with math since always but Mr. Neeley makes the content in a very easy way. He is very caring and has a lot of patience. Also, he answers emails very fast and offers a fair amount of extra credit.
Amazing lectures! Sometimes a tad bit fast-paced. Only graded by the 4 (maybe 3?) test, the final, and an extra credit project. But the tests were fair he never put any trick questions. He didn't give practice tests but always gave us a list from the book to look over, those were usually much harder than the tests ever got.
Quizzes and homework are very similar to what you will see on exams which is good.
Very fair and knowledgable professor. Will work with you on grades, giving up to a letter grade or more in exam extra credit outside of class. Highly recommend this professor for any math class.
Professor Neeley makes content in a very easy way. He is really patient and caring. He also provides a reasonable amount of extra credit and responds to emails quite quickly. He will make the Exam question very easy and simple. He will allow us to use one page of paper for notes on the exam. Very fair and knowledgeable professor. Highly recommend!
Professor Neeley has a genuine passion for the material that he is teaching. If you ask him a question during lecture he will provide a thorough in-depth answer until you personally understand the topic. Important to note this class is mostly scored by exams but he provides plenty of resources to study. Take him if you can, you wont regret it!
Love this teacher. Truly understands the material so he can explain in multiple ways for you to understand. He lays a foundation and builds your knowledge! Easy to pass, easy homework, exams are just like the homework. Great and kind teacher i would take this course again!
Professor Neeley is one of the best professors at MCC. He is always willing to help and his enthusiasm for teaching is top notch. You can really tell how passionate he is in math. Show up to class if you want to pass!
Mark Neeley is one of the best professors at MCC, the class structure is very smooth, explains everything in a way that is clear and concise, and does so in a way that does not make you feel dumb. The textbook isn't required but is provided for free for you and is very helpful. Exams are relatively easy and won't try to throw you off.
Professor Neeley makes math easy to understand. He's enthusiastic, patient, and always willing to help. Use resources like unstuckstudy and the free textbook, and you'll do great in this class.
Class went as follows, he started writing on the board, he never stopped. If you have questions he'll always answer them, his office hours are great if you ever get stuck. The whole semester, you're learning different methods of solving a DE. The final is 8 pages each with 1 DE on it, pick a method and solve. This was my favorite class at MCC.
I've had Prof. Neely before and i'm glad i took him for Diff EQ. He will do anything to make sure you understand the content and succeed. I found the class interesting and made for a good challenge. Im not the best test taker but he understood that sometimes my exam grades did not reflect my knowledge on the topic. One of the best teachers at MCC.
I would not recommend Mark N. if you struggle to keep up with math-specific lectures, like myself. However, he is very knowledgeable, answers any and all questions (don't be afraid to ask), provides a variety of resources to help those who are behind, and the homework helps prepare you for the exams (don't skip them)!
