Very easy and the info about the prophets and apostles is personable and applicable very enjoyable experience

Prof Ogletree is so easy and laid back on coursework. Attendance is mandatory because there are 1-2 10 question quizzes at the beginning of each class that he gives you every answer to so just show up and you will pass. There are lecture prep quizzes that are due before each class but the answers are all in the slides on learning suite in order.

He was super awesome! it was so easier to get an A. You just need to show up and do the work and you will get an A. Easiest class at BYU

Take this or any class from Brother Ogletree! Majority of the grade is from in-class quizzes, so attendance is important. There is homework regularly, but it's short and easy. I think this is genuinely the easiest class I"ve ever taken at BYU. He's so funny and he's flexible if you need exceptions!

I really loved this class. Ogletree creates the class to be very easy if you come to class, prepare, and do the work. If not you'll prob fail. 80% of our class has A's. 86% has an A or -A. If you do the work you will get an A.

Professor Ogletree's class isn't super hard. There are quizzes to prep you for each class and then in-class quizzes which are how he takes attendance but he basically gives you the answers to them. Overall he's super understanding and not a hard grader.

I have so many great things to say about Professor Ogletree and his class! It is one of my favorite religion classes I have attended. All the readings are talks by leaders of the Church, so the homework is both applicable and uplifting. If you put in the time required and actively listen in class, you will learn much and your testimony will grow.

Mark Ogletree is amazing! I took his class which happened at 9am. Even though it was a morning class he was still lively and taught with such charm. Professor Ogletree has this hilarious sense of humor that spontaneously pops up while he's teaching and I love it. I highly recommend him to all students.

Professor Ogletree is literally the easiest professor I have taken a religion class from. Not only that, but he genuinely cares for each individual in his class. His quizzes, he gives you direct answers through PowerPoint he gives you before class and is really very easy to talk to about grades or attendance. Literally amazing, take him if you can!

Just an overall great guy. This is my second class that I have taken from him and it is what a religion class should be at BYU. I don't feel overwhelmed with the amount of homework/assignments. Just a great class but he's a great teacher. Really down to earth and he really does care. I had a few things come up and he was super understanding.

He's a wonderful teacher! He understands the students' needs and workloads. He gives some homework so we can learn, but doesn't give too much so that it becomes a burden. I felt uninhibited by homework and other course work from learning the actual material of the class. I came, he delivered! Would definitely recommend.

The class is very organized and the expectations are clear from day one. The are some lecture preparation quizzes and readings to do before class but the are reasonable. He is a nice guy and doesn't want to make the class overly difficult.

I took the Living Prophets class by Doctore Ogletree, a Stake President, which shows that he has met with many different general authorities. He provides really cool insight and also makes class more fun. There are attendance quizzes that he does with you, and the assignments and homework are super easy. 10/10 would take again.

Attendence is graded and VERY important. I probably spent 30 minutes a day (summer term) doing the quizzes and readings. Very well prepared material that is incredibly inspiring and edifying. This is the epitome of what a religion class ought to be, in my opinion. An opportunity to feel the spirit without the stress of a high academic workload.

Dr. Ogletree is an approachable, down-to-earth, and humorous professor. His Living Prophets course was, as he described on the first day, "the easiest class you will ever take". All that is required of the students is to be present, participate, and complete the assigned readings before class.

If you don't score well it's your fault, pre class quizzes are easy if you read the ppt. I have had over 8 different religion teachers since I'm a senior and I'd definitely recommend him for RELC333.

He has interesting lectures and he's really funny and chill. No tests except for a short essay style final with questions that were really easy opinion type questions. He does assign a lot of what can feel like busywork but it's really easy so it wasn't too bad.

This class is interesting to learn about all the living apostles and prophet's lives, yet it is very easy and fun. Sometimes class can get repetitive with looking at the same slides for the quiz answers as are used in class. There are general conference readings and a quiz before each class and an attendance quiz each class, but not much else.

Professor Ogletree is a phenomenal teacher who you can really tell cares about the students. He was very understanding about turning in work late, left tests open for a long time, and didn't give heavy out of class work, which allowed students to focus entirely on what he was saying in class. Professor Ogletree is my favorite BYU religion professor. His lectures are full of fun stories and interesting facts/quotes about the family. I took his class alongside my Accounting Jr. Core classes, which come with a notoriously heavy workload, and did not feel additional stress from the time commitment. I'd take it again if I could.

This was a really great religion class. Good content, not a lot of assignments. Dr. Ogletree really cares about this subject and his students. I was a few days late on a test and he let me take it late and only took off a few points. There is an attendance quiz each class, and the study guides are the exact questions that are on the exams.

Proffesor Ogletree is one of the nicest professors I've had. His class is not to taxing as well, there are some readings you do prior to class, and there is an atttendance quiz you take every classs. Im not a member of the church, but I had a great experience in Profesor's Ogltrees learing more about the LDS church and it's values.

You have to work really hard to fail this class, almost all of your grade is attendance quizzes that we do together in class and lecture prep quizzes that are open note. You get out of this class what you put into it. He makes his lectures an opportunity for you to try to get involved, but your participation is what makes it work.

I loved the content that we went over and I thought he was a good teacher. I felt the spirit and learned a lot, but the only thing I would say is that there is quite a lot of pre class prep for it only being a religion class. Also attendance is quite strict, but he offers plenty of help.

Brother Ogletree was bright and happy. He has some fun stories about the different prophets and apostles. His class was easy. You do the attendance quiz together in class. The final is a 5 question open response about what you liked from the class. There's hardly any outside class assignments.

How to get the grade you wanted was very clearly laid out. 40% of your grade are from attendance quizzes that he gives every single answer for but only if you are in class. Knows his stuff through his career, his own marriage, and from his doctorate degree. Funny guy as well lol

Okay he has a lot of expertise in his subject and is very engaging, but... I would not recommend the evening class. Nothing against him at all, just organizationally things could have been better. It felt like there was a lot crammed into one evening. Attendance is a must.

Dr. Ogletree was a great professor... for someone else. He gave a warning the first class saying "if you are not all in with the church all the time, you should find a different teacher." Dr. Ogletree usually answers questions after class, and he checks his emails on weekdays. If you have questions about the church, choose a different teacher.

His lectures provide really great insight and he loves to crack jokes. So long as you attend class and fill out the provided study guide, you'll do great in this class!

really great the class is simple and well thought out. All of the lectures are entertaining and insightful. If you go to class you will get a lot out of it.

Brother Ogletree's class has been my favorite way to take religion classes at BYU. It emphasizes learning about the leaders of the church on your own time and then is supported by lectures.

I took this class in the evening. It was good, but if I could have I would have done a normal class time. He is a really good teacher and teaches a lot of the complexities really well. There is a lot of super useful information regarding eternal families. Review guides are the way to go to prep for tests

Professor Ogletree is the best religion professor I have ever had. He really wants to make life easy on you and wants to set you up to succeed in his class. All he asks is that you come to class and give a little participation. Does a great job covering all the prophets and apostles.

Great teacher and class!! He is so funny! You have an attendance quiz and lecture prep quiz each class but it's easy to find the answers and he gives you the answers for the attendance quiz. You learn a lot in a stress free environment!

I loved taking The Living Prophets class from Dr. O. I felt like I learned so much in a (very) stress free environment. The pre-class quizzes are open book/open note and the material comes directly from his powerpoints. Participation quizzes are completed in class and he goes through the answer for every question.

Dr. O is such a great professor, and he structures his class to increase learning in a low-stress environment. The pre-class quizzes are open book/open note and the material comes straight from his class powerpoints. You do the in-class quizzes with Dr. O and he goes over the answers for each of the questions, so you don't have to memorize anything

Super easy class and it's clear that he cares more about the student having a spiritual experience and truly learning than about making it difficult to get a good grade. I always felt the Spirit during his lectures and learned a lot about strengthening my future family. I'd definitely take a class from him again!

The class is really straightforward. Attendance is important. There's readings to do in preparation for every class but they're just talks basically. There's few assignments and they're all very straightforward and easy. He provides a study guide for every exam. Just fill it out during class and the exams are a breeze.

Dr. Ogletree was great. I took eternal families from him freshman year and then this class and both were awesome. Dr. Ogletree is very welcoming and aware of his students and very encouraging. The class was also super easy as long as you show up for the attendance quizes.

Dr. Ogletree is very encouraging and understanding. His class is very informative and the assignments are way easy. Showing up to class is the biggest part of this class. I've taken two classes from him and both were so nice.

Professor Ogletree is the best. He said first day ... "I don't want this class to be hard for you." Super easy and I learned a lot about the prophets and apostles. This class took little effort but also helped me prepare for General Conference. Professor Ogletree is super understanding and helpful if you need to miss class or something.

This was a very easy religion course. He gives you a study guide to fill out during class that gives you most of the answers to the test, and the test is open note. It is timed, but not a problem if you've done the study guide. This was not the most inspirational religion class I've taken, but its a heavy semester for you, he's a great choice.

Great professor to take for living prophets.

He brings a great spirit to the room. He likens real life stories and applies them to the studnts. life. He is all about helping students become dischiples of christ. He just wants people to be present and wanting to learn. Exams are easy.

Take this class. It's super easy and Dr. Ogletree is incredibly nice and fun.

I loved this class! Informative without being overbearing, and looked forward to it every week. Dr. O is super accessible and I went to see him on some questions unrelated to the class and he always had an amazing answer. Would 100% recommend and take it again!

I highly recommend taking Eternal Families from Dr. Olgetree. Lectures were super engaging and inspirational! He provides a study guide for each unit that aligns with his classroom teachings and PowerPoint slides, which correlates with the exam questions. Overall, very enjoyable and low stress, he truly cares about each one of his students.  

Dr. Ogletree is great!! The Eternal families class is structured so that you need to attend every lecture so that you can take the participation quiz. You need to go to get the answers for the quiz. Dr. Ogletree draws from the teachings of prophets and apostles and it's awesome! There are required readings before each day of class. Very inspiring!

You might have to review some of the material on your own after the lectures are over (sometimes the answers to questions are skipped or glossed over), but the class is engaging and inspiring. You won't have to stress if you take this class, and can focus on learning helpful principles!

He is seriously the kindest and most joyful professor. He is passionate about his subject matter and wants to help his students succeed!

Loved this course so much and learned a ton about living prophets too. Just need to show up to class everyday to get attendance credit for the attendance quiz. But this is one of the best religion classes I've ever taken at BYU

Ogletree was a great professor, made class engaging, and didn't require extreme amounts of homework.

I would 100000% recommend. Easiest religion possible with only one project and then pre lecture quizzes. The class was fun and interested as well. No stress and lots of knowledge gained.

Ogletree is a dawg. You'll learn a lot about prophets/apostles and has the spirit in his class. Easy A as long as you keep up on the assignments and go to class

He is a fantastic teacher who really knows his stuff about the family and marriage. You can tell that he is passionate about working and helping the family unite. I recommend this class to anyone who is looking for trying to strength their relationship or thinking about marriage. This class answers everything in not a grade threatening way.

Ogletree is AMAZING. He is kind and understands student life. His class is very easy if you put in some effort (2 weekly quizzes open book, and a few assignments) and show up. It was the perfect religion class because it didn't increase my stress in anyway so I could just go, listen, and feel the spirit - the way I think a religion class should be!

Take eternal family from him! He makes the class easy so that you can really pay attention in class and learn without hyperfixating on grades. Attendance is mandatory.

Literally the best testimony building and low stress religion class I've taken. Class attendance quiz is done together and if you fill out the exam study each class you are set for the exams. Great relevant stories and is willing to work with you.

This professor is very lenient. He works well with everyone and is very loud and outgoing. He knows how to get the class engaged and get everyone to open up and discuss their feelings and ideas.

I didn't learn anything crazy insightful and most of his answers to questions people asked were to just follow the prophet but I liked the class. Very knowledgable on biographical details.

Dr. Ogletree is super nice. This class was so easy. I think some of the materials and readings were way outdated, but what can you do. Go to class every day, look up the exam study guide on quizlet, it'll be the easiest religion class ever.

Amazing class! Dr Ogletree has been teaching this for decades and is a practicing marriage and family therapist. I definitely recommend doing the pre-reading, about three talks or articles per class but it's all really good and well worth your time. I plan to take more classes from Dr Ogletree and I'm reading one of his books now!

Great level of difficulty for a religion class. There were reading quizzes every week, then the final is a PowerPoint presentation and a test with a couple of essay questions. If you go to class and take notes on the lectures, you'll do great!

Professor Ogletree is very inspiring and genuinely cares about what he teaches. He wants the best for his students and makes the class very easy as far as homework and getting a good grade as long as you attend the lectures.

He is one of the best professor for religion class. He focuses on the lecture instead of giving bunch of assignments. It is not a hard class and I would take his class for other religion credits that I have to take as well.

I entered late and Professor Ogletree was very accommodating. Decent amount of reading, but most are Conference Talks.Class has PowerPoint Lectures/attendance quizzes IN class plus lecture prep-quizzes too. Exams are directed related to big ideas. This is an easier class and it teaches a lot of great life lessons whether you are a member or not!

I felt that we learned a lot every class that was super helpful. He doesn't want this to be your hardest class but you need to stay on top of the little assignments or they can add up. They are simple and overall a great class. Most of the things we learned gave me a ton of direction and clarity.

My favorite Religion Professor by far! He is so loving and hilarious. I learned a lot from him, and I would highly recommend taking Eternal Families from him. There are reading assignments, but nothing too time-consuming. Most of your grade is attendance.

Professor Ogletree is really good at what he does. I highly recommend taking his class if you are someone who wants a spiritual and scientific way of looking at building relationships and learning more about yourself. Don't let his rating fool you, though! While the load is light, If you don't do the work, you will not pass.

Gives tons of opportunities for you to succeed. He recommends you skim the reading. He also offers lots of extra credit and a change to get a good grade. The exams are free response. I was really stressed it would be one of those tests where the professor is set on giving a bad grade but I got 100% on it. Would recommend his class.

By far the best professor I've ever had!

Kind and funny teacher. We had two hour classes but often ended class early which was great. Exams were open book with subjective, open-ended essay prompts so as long as you just do the assignments with some effort you should be fine.

Professor Ogletree is a great lecturer. He's flexible, engaging, and creates a positive learning environment. Daily attendance quizzes were done in class with his guidance, which made them manageable. The workload was fair. I appreciated how he encouraged participation and made the material easy to understand. I highly recommend taking his class!

Dr. Ogletree is one of the best religion professors at BYU. He teaches with such tact and sincerity that you are enriched spiritually no matter your personal opinions. He teaches clearly the doctrine of the Church while also being compassionate to those who disagree with the teachings. His class is very easy and he is fair on grading and exams.

I love Prof Ogletree. He is a great storyteller, which makes the class entertaining. I loved his use of quotes from apostles and prophets as well as pulling data from various studies. He has attendance quizzes, which are a major part of your grade, but I feel like that's pretty standard for religion courses.

Brother Ogletree is very kind, this class is by far one of the most manageable religion classes at BYU considering it didn't have "real" exams, more like write a paragraph about what you learned which is very nice and actually fun to do! Just stay on top of the daily lecture quizzes before and in class and you'll get an A!

You learn a lot in this class!

Only homework was to read the lecture notes for the next class and answer questions on learning suite about them. The tests are open book, open slideshow, open internet, open everything. They are free response questions just asking about different things you learned. Hard not to get an A in this class if you just show up and do the hw.

Lots of busy work but overall still an easy course, so I can't complain too much. Tests were easy because all questions were revealed before the test in class.

Ogletree is a great professor. If you show up to class and do the lecture prep quizzes (~20 min each), you'll do great. Exams are open-note, open-slideshow short essays, so as long as you put in some effort, you'll be fine. He also gives you the questions ahead of time. Super easy class, fun guy, learned a lot!

He is so kind. If you forget at the start of the semester to do a homework, he will reopen it for you or mark it for the points. Super easy final. You notes in class are basically your final.

His religion classes allow you to focus on strengthening your testimony without unnecessary stress about assignments and exams. Graded on lecture prep quizzes (all open note), in-class participation quizzes, 3 exams (all open note), and one presentation at the end.

There are lecture prepquizzes due before every class, but they are only 10-20 questions long and you find the answers in the lecture presentations (all the quizzes are open note). There are also some readings to do before each class, but nothing crazy. Exams are all written responses based on each lesson. Super easy and fun

Brother Ogletree is awesome! He is one of those BYU professors who did not come from a perfect LDS family growing up, so I really benefited from the little things he shared in class about that. This is an eternal families class, so it's easy to feel like you're the only one who's not from a perfect LDS family, but things He shared gave me hope.

Dr. Ogletree is very funny and engaging. The homework is relatively light, which was super nice. My only complaint was that there's quite a bit of conference talks/byu speeches that we had to read each week, and sometimes the material got a bit repetitive. But overall it's a great class and an easy A.

Dr. Ogletree is a great teacher and storyteller! I loved going to class and listening to his lectures. Before class you do a lecture preparation quiz for each lesson and I personally liked them because it helped me understand what we were going to talk about in class. Yes it was a little tedious but I personally liked it. Love Him!

This guy is the man!!! He is very kind and considerate. He will always talk to you if you need help. His grading and assignments are pretty chill and you know what to do before its due. He's the best!

Great class. Super easy and laid back professor. 1 powerpoint project (takes about 1 hr) and then exams are open everything and easy answers. Minimal homework, attendance quizzes and lecture quizzes every class. I would recommend taking nightime class cause he lets you out early every time.

I loved Brother Ogletree! He was a great professor, very kind, and very understanding about our busy schedules. I had his evening section and he almost alway let us out 30 mins early. He is a tough but very fair grader and in attendance. I would recommend him!

Professor Ogletree was such a great teacher for Eternal Families! He has such good and engaging lectures every week, and none of his assignments or exams were hard at all; he made it very clear what he wanted you to do.

His class is spiritually strengthening without being academically burdensome. Even his lectures and homework are enjoyable. Professor Ogletree is extremely kind and very willing to work with students! Lectures and assignments are very easy to understand and information on Learning Suite is easy to navigate. Only thing to keep in mind is that attendance quizzes make up a significant portion of your grade (but they're pretty easy). So don't skip class!!

Everything that a religion class should be: inspiring, faith-promoting, and easy to get an A (as long as you actually come to class). Prof. Ogletree shares interesting insights about the apostles, and a lot of it was stuff I had never heard before.

Dr Ogletree is an amazing professor. There are lecture preparation quizzes before each class but they are super easy and open note. Tests this semester were all short answer so they take a while but he gives you like 10 days to complete them and they don't have to be done in one setting. Would highly recommend taking this class from Dr. Ogletree.

Dr. Ogletree is awesome! His class was interesting, spiritually uplifting, and extremely applicable to everyday life! There is little homework, including reading a few talks before class, but all of it is graded very fairly with lots of help from Dr. O! I would highly highly recommend this class!

You will have 20 question quiz before each class (you're supposeded to read 3 talks as well). 2 midterms, writing 300 word answers about every apostle, 1 final (same thing). you can do the lecture prep quizzes in class the day before.

Dr. Ogletree is incredible! I have nothing bad to say about his class at all. All the assignments given were straightforward and purposeful, and there are no difficult tests, just some essay-style assignments to get you thinking. He knows so much about the lives of the people he is teaching about, and it was very engaging. Take this class!

His class is only as good as you make it, if you take the time to do the pre-class assignments and show up, it's impossible not to learn something. Doctor Ogletree is great! This class was described as very easy, it is if you go to class and do all of the (super short) lecture preparation quizzes beforehand. Unfortunately I did not and paid the price. Don't take this class if you are going to skip it.

Dr. Ogletree is full of energy and enthusiasm. He loves teaching students about families. He is also hilarious. He's well educated on families and has a simple workflow for the assignments. If you do the readings before class, then you'll be ready to relax and enjoy class. He will teach you something new regardless of your preparation.

In my opinion it's pretty much impossible to not get an A if you go to class. The entire class is pretty much just attendance quizzes, simple lecture preparation assignments, and easy tests. He is a professor that wants you to learn, have fun, and not stress about your grades. If I had any more religion classes to take, I would take them from him!

He was great at combining the many Univ lessons that we had to get to the heart of what we were supposed to learn. We also didnt have to do many of the unnecessary assignments that other classes did and focused on the important ones.

I took this class because I heard it was an easy A. I can indeed testify that is was an easy A. Attendence quiz each class, and a lecture prep quiz due before each class. 3 tests which are all "what did you learn" type of questions. Easy class, but still learned a lot about the Prophets and Apostles so it was a win win.
