What Students Say
“I have never done this bad in a course before, the assignments are super difficult to understand, and maybe it was just because I did an online version of the class due to COVID-19, regardless, I was so stressed, and when I did not understand an assignment, it took him forever to respond back, and even then his responses where not helpful at all”

Excellent online class. Expectations very clear from start. Online field trips were awesome. He was quick to help when needed.
tests can sometimes be a bit confusing the way he words things

MArk is a great teacher. Very knowledgeable about his subjects. Makes learning about the ocean, not so terrible. Easy going guy, too. Great sense of humor.
good teacher great sense of humor! tends to move rather quickly on subject's making it hard to unerstand, better chance just studying straight from the book, but he will help if needed!
Great teacher who truly loves the subject. He really cares about his students and is a joy to see everyday. I would highly recommend him!
Dr. Peebles is a great teacher, who loves what he does a lot. He knows a lot about his subjects and enjoys them. I always look forward to his class and his lab class. Sometimes he moves fast and is a little unclear, so study really hard. take his class!!
Great teacher!
Cool teacher, loves what he does!
Real clear on what you need to know. He is very helpful with explaining how to work out the problems. I only wish he taught upper level chemistry too.
This guy is just so awsome, I took him for three of his classes. Loved them all!!
he is great!! if you don't know an answer on a test just write a good joke and he'll give you credit. his lectures are a little on the boring side but he's a great guy. very helpfull.
His lectures are very boring and he gives very disorganized notes. A new thing that he just started this semester was tests with only essay questions. It makes the tests very challenging.
Mr. Peebles is a fun person and very nice, but he knows what he is teaching too well and goes very quickly through material. When he tries to explain something to you, he just does the problem and all of the thinking for you.If you go fast, he's good.
excellent teacher :)
Peebs will bend over backwards to help you understand things, and there are many chances to earn extra credit. He is very fair with his tests, if you study you will earn a pretty decent grade.
If you dont understand he will help you with the material for sure! Which is really awesome. He is an easy going professor I recommend him for sure!
Took him for Ocean Lab and he was super easy. We went to aquarium and beach. Very easy A and not too boring.
very nice professor and works well with students needs
Yes, he does go through the material very fast, but there is a lot of it to go through. That is what college is, a lot of material in a short amount of time. As being a 5th year college student I should now. But he is very fair and willing to work with you if you are willing to work too.
I was told by everyone how easy his class is. Well I did end up with an A, but just barely. He gave us so much extra credit. So if you understand science, then take him. If not, I can't help you.His tests were pretty difficult for me and it took him giving a lot of extra credit to boost my grade.
Peebles is the man. Lots of extra credit, and a pretty complete review for most tests. Makes a pretty boring subject (in my opinion) as fun as possible.
He is way cool!!
Peebles cereal rules. He is a really smart guy and his sense of humor is very clever as well. He gives a ton of extra credit and sometimes gives curves ot the tests. Ask him about the blue men in Antarctica.
Very nice man. However, I think he makes the class harder than it needs to be. He doesn't give reviews - just tells you to "study your notes" but there are defininitely things on his tests that are not covered in your notes. On the other hand, he does give extra credit and curves tests grades if needed. Overall, I would not take him again.
This is my favorite teacher ever. So nice, understanding, very knowledgable about science but he doesn't make the class difficult at all!!! I aced every test.. he is awesome. I pray that he teaches biology next semester
Peebles wobbles but he don't fall down! Changed my life, gave me a life-long interest in weather patterns. Best lab ever, answered every question, no matter how dumb.
He's so easy! He gives tons of extra credits and really gives you alot of grace when he can see you're are actually trying. He tries to keep it interesting too, and he's pretty funny, but his subjects can be kinda boring.
easy teacher, if you are not going for a science major and need to fulfill requirement this is the teacher. He teaches all but emphizes on the things for the test. LAB is informal and fun, he will go and start talking to you while doing the assignments. Oh he procastinate so you may not ahve a quiz never coze he takes the semester to correct them.
cool teacher. Goes fast through material but willing to help you out any way he can. I recom. him to anyone AWESOME guy
His tests are very hard, but he gives a lot of extra credit. Hes awesome!
He is the coolest professor on campus! This professor can actually take a rather boring subject and "bring it to life." A good grade is rather easy, if you take advantage of all the extra credit. "He rocks"
I took his class appx 1 yr. ago. at first I was so negative (not a science lover) and he was so positive, I said things I was sorry for later. He is one of the nicest teachers you'll ever meet. I learned things that I thought were impossible for me to learn, and I'm grateful to have been in his class. Sign up now -- you won't regret it!
he's a cool guy and make the class fun. take advantage of extra credit.
Peebles is a nice guy with a bit of cheesy humor that you cant help but laugh about. He will help you when you need it and you couldn't ask for a better science teacher.
Peebles is a very fun and easy going professor who knowns a lot about his field. If you read the material and take notes you'll do fine on the tests. If he taught other subjets, I would defnitly take him again.
He is an ok avg teacher. I think his notes were very disorganized and the notes didnt show up on the test. Study the book.
knows his stuff! gets off on tangents but really good teacher. doesnt care about attendance, grades are only based on tests! take notes and you have to at least skim the book to make it on his tests.
Extremely easy professor. I played Spider Solitaire the whole semester through his class, and still got an 93%. If you are at all serious about a major in science, do not take his class. He is a good teacher to take if you just need a science requirement.
If you have a good understanding of chemistry & physics this course will be easy, if you don't; well, you'll need to study the notes & read the book. Always take advantage of the extra credit- you have to go to lectures to get those clues & the notes you'll need to pass the tests; they're difficult. Use the online textbook aide too.
Mr. Peebles is the best teacher in to WORLD! He lectures are very interesting and funny. It was a such a joy to be in his class!
I'm not gonna lie, I enjoyed coming to his class... But whatever I studied from the study guide WASN'T on the test. Was difficult to follow along with in the book, with his lectures, but I got the hang of it at the end of the semester. I would recommend Peebles, he is VERY passionate about Oceanography seeing as how he was once one. Good luck.
lectures are interesting and entertaining but if you want to do good on tests u have to read the chapters and pay attention to the study guide, good sense of humor but lectures arent very helpful for tests he does do extra credit and curves tests though so overall its a good class
Very Helpful, however wen assigned a project, resources will be low to aide you, therefore you have to ask him alot of questions; the downside of this is you dont learn much. I would say he is a good instructor but EXTREMELY un-organized
Peebles is awesome! He is truely interested in science, and finds creative ways to include everyone (like going on a fossil dig, and aquarium). I WISH I had to take another science class....his flipflops and hawaiian shirt are awesome. He's a laid-back guy, great teacher!!!!
I took him for CHM 1025L. He is kinda strange, but makes class interesting. He gives you the assignment and kinda lets you do your own thing. Make sure you do the pre-lab assignments, because you will have a short quiz every begining of class. They are easy however, because he gives you credit as long as you at least make an educated guess.
Peebs is great!! He takes a bit of getting used to, but once you understand his style he is the easiest professor in the world. You will learn in his classes so be prepared. He really knows his stuff, ask any question and he has an in depth answer. Study hard and you won't have an issue. TAKE HIM, you won't be sorry!
Excellent intruction! Really fun class, lots of good information. He really knows his stuff, and if you pay attention and study you will do fine on tests. Laid back teacher, and always understanding when life issues arise. Take him if you have any sense at all. :)
I recommend Peebles Earth Science class! He gives a lot of extra credit and he is very laid back. The tests are not too hard, but you still have to study and the extra credit helps out a lot. His lectures tend to be both boring and interesting. Also, save all your work you do in this class b/c he tends to be on the unorganized side.
A if you do the work yourself and study before tests. Hand holds, gives extra credit and almost all labs get 100 if complete. Allows you to leave early and miss class. Lovely person, extremely intelligent but unorganized. Make copies before handing anything in. Would be interesting to take lecture instead of lab and see if he teaches all he knows
Peebles has good intentions, but in my opinion is all over the place when he teaches. A major portion of the class is failing...we had a 12 point curve on the last test. If you want a easy class, this is NOT your class. I would only take if you actually love earth science...because its not easy.
Great teacher. Unorganized but definitely knows his stuff. Boring lectures but he makes them interesting. To get a good grade in his class just pay attention and do your journals. They help a lot. Tests are pretty easy but still study for them. Make sure you keep track of all your work. Very helpful and makes learning fun. Definitely take him!!
Peebles is funny, I took him for oceanography and that's the reason I'm taking him for earth science right now. His tests are fairly hard, but he gives you a good amount of extra credit, and make sure you do all homework- journals for earth and questions in book for ocean. His lectures can get boring, but he knows how to spice it up. Recommended.
Took chemistry lab w/Peebles. Just show up for class and you should have an A. You will need you lab book for this class. Grades come from quizzes, lab assignments, and participation. As long as you put something down he will give you credit for effort. As soon as you finsh w/ your lab, you are free to leave class! Super easy, would highly recomm.
I love Mr.Peebles! I took the lecture and lab. In the lecture he gives a lot of extra credit and tests are straight from the book. In lab he will sit next to you and do the labs with you. Easy credit. I would take anything with him and recomend him in a heartbeat!
I took Professor Peebles for Earth Science, and he is the MOST AWFUL teacher at SPC. No joke, his lectures are vague, what you study seems to never be on the test and he never responds to your email. Plus he takes forever to finish grading everything. Definitly do NOT take this class unless you like boring dorky science guys.
Probably one of the best teachers I've ever had. Extremely helpful and very clear on what he wants you to learn. Very funny and keeps lectures fun, had him for both lecture and lab and enjoyed both! Definitely a teacher worth taking again.
Easy going prof. 1 prob.- in case u are reading this Dr. Peebles- when u teach a new concept, u need to teach it w/o skipping steps.Teach it in slow motion the 1st time around, & dont make mistakes! Once we get it, u can skip steps & let us catch your mistakes :-) i found myself having to teach myself from the book b/c it was never clear in lectur
Easy going teacher, makes chem fun and not boring. Very helpful. A little on the unorganized side but he admits it. Best teacher ive had at SPC by far! Would def recomend!
Very helpful in class. Need to buy the book for homework of which he assigns about 5 to 10 problems a class. Quizzes are straight from homework and he tells you what you need to know for the test. A little scatter brained but makes up for it with his curve. Easy A if you do the homework.
Good class, can be a little boring sometimes. But peebles is a funny teacher and overall good guy he curves the test grades which helps alot and gives you homework out of the book which really helps your grade alot. Good class if you atleast give a little effort. Selling the book for this class if anyone is intersted email me @ [email protected]
Pretty easy class. Lectures mostly. HARD TESTS but curves every test and offers extra credit. Homework is all from the book, easy to get 100%. Horrible handwriting, just a heads up.
This class is extremely boring and off topic. Very mono-tone. I would steer clear of his class.
Peebles is a very good teacher and a really nice guy. Took him for CHM 1045lab and he was very helpful and laid back. You must do the advanced study assignments to pass the quizzes, but he will go over the advance study before quiz and make sure everyone knows the material. I would definitely recommend Peebles for any class.
Peebles is awesome! Very nice, very helpful! LOTS of extra credit which will help you stay afloat :) Curves too. Lots of notetaking needed and study the slides. Do your assignments and study your materials for the tests and you'll do fine. If you work a lot and have a heavy school load this may not be the class for you. I'm taking him again in fall
Best Science teacher I have ever had not to mention at SPC in my opinion! VERY helpful and very nice. He will always explain things clear, and curves tests. I would take him again in a heartbeat if I needed another science. TAKE HIM!
This teacher is awesome. He is so happy to teach and loves the subject. He is extremely helpful. He makes the class interesting and fun. I would highly recommend him. If you are not doing well just go to him for help and he will let you retake a few quizzes to help with your grade. All he wants is for his student to learn and like the course.
Peebles is great, he gives a lot of extra credit and he really knows his stuff. The tests aren't too bad, just show up, take notes, and skim through the book a little, do journals and you'll pass.
This is the laziest teacher I have ever had! Minimal to no instruction at all. You will fill out ridiculously vague and horribly photo-copied handouts. Tests are a joke considering he doesn't teach you anything. I was going to miss a class and emailed him weeks in adavnce to see if he could fax me the assignment, and he ignored my request! BAD!
I have been in Peebles class for about a month now and we just had our first test. ABSOLUTELY none of the information i studied was on the test. NO study guides and he tells you NOTHING about what will be on the test. I read all the chapters, made note cards and studied up until classes. Very difficult to prepare for tests. Hope you like guessing!
Great teacher, he loves science and knows everything about it! I'll admit he's not the most organized but he's still an amazing teacher. Super helpful that he will answer any question you have. He doesn't look at his emails or anything but just tell him in class and it's no big deal. Easy class as long as you come pay attention and take some notes.
AWESOME TEACHER. just make sure to take good notes and study from them. he rocks and you really dont need to purchase the book we never used it.
PRETTY easy class, he doesnt take attendance & the power points are online. 4 tests, 4 hw - each 100 pts + EC. you only use the book to do HW. he will tell you whats on the test but sometimes it never shows up on the test, its tricky. he is very helpful, nice and knows EVERYTHING about science. overall, this class was an easy grade.
he knows EVERYTHING about science. he will tell you whats on the test but i doubt it will be a question. he does offer extra credit. you dont need to use the book unless your doing HW questions (dont waste $$ -rent it from the library). if you fail all your tests but complete all the HW assignments you will still walk away with a C.
I would highly recommend this professor. He makes it possible for every student to pass if you pay attention during the lecture and go over the chapter before the test.Your grade is not only based on your test grades, he bases 20% on journal articles and he also gives extra credit. He is very knowlegdable and loves science. GREAT TEACHER!
He really does know EVERYTHING about science and if you show up to class and take good notes you will be fine. His tests are not the easiest, but it doesn't matter because he has a ridiculous curve and extra to go with each one. DEFINITELY take him
it would have been great to have been able to experience the teacher who has so many great comments, yet, this teacher could not be bothered to return my phone calls or an e-mail I sent to ask him something about the class. That is and of itself told me something about this person. Goodness.
NEVER returns emails or phone calls, and if he DOES return your email (which is rare) it's many weeks later. Could barely understand his hand writing for notes, and goes off topic way too much. Never really gave any help when you asked him questions out side of class. Will never take him again, and I suggest you try to find someone else for science
LOVE Mr. Peebs! The class is a little hard you have to take notes and his tests are somewhat difficult but if you study your notes you will get an A. He gives extra credit and rounds up your grades. He tells you whats going to be on the test. Also went on the Keys trip with other science classes and it was WELL WORTH IT!
Lab class was great. It was a small class and he helped each one of us alot. we got in groups to work then took tests after sections. got an A and enjoyed talking 1 on 1 with mr peebles, he's awesome.
Nice guy, tough tests. Treats his students as adults with respect. a little old school in that he prefers that you just come to his office is you need anything. Would recommend.
Very helpful in clarifying information. Will explain answers for you. Very flexible. Enjoyed this class. Made jokes alot -- if you really want to take a science class that is not so serious, but make learning fun - take this instructor. Excellent
I love Mr. Peebs. He's a great ptofessor who knew more about it than our textbook. He's super funny and likes to joke a lot. He makes learning really fun and he's really easy to get along with. He's really flexible with grading and is always willing to answer any question you have. Grades are 4 tests, 4 chapter ?s, but gives extra credit. Take him!
I took Dr. Peebles for both the Earth Science and lab class. Dr. Peebs is good peeps!
Communicates well with class. Tells you Everything on the tests. Great teacher. Had mr peebles for lecture and lab... Amazing ! Please take him. You wont regret it.
Professor Peebles made chemistry fun and interesting. Very helpful and fully explains anything you have a question with. Allows you to work at your own pace in lab. Very knowledgable and great personality. Highly receommend him; especially if you plan on advancing into further chem classes. I had HIGH A's on EVERYTHING!!
The class itself is kinda boring, but I enjoy Peebles and his lectures so that makes it interesting and I love going to his class. Tests are kinda hard, but definitely not unpassable. There are opportunities for extra credit which is nice. He is really nice and laid back. Definitely recommended.
WARNING: If you did not previously love science, Mr. Peebles will make you! He shows 100% passion and enthusiam in class, such a jolly and cheerful man. His character will not only inspire you to learn about the subject but over all lighten your day! He jokes alot, yet is serious enough to get the agenda through. Tests are a breeze if u take notes
mr peebles will tell you only some of the information you need to know. his tests are VERY hard and i never felt prepared. his handwriting is very sloppy and impossible to read. hes a super nice dude dont get me wrong, but i never knew the subject of earth science could be so difficult.
Mr Peebles is great! I wish I could take him again! He is extremely helpful and really nice! He drops two of the lowest labs and quizes. Before every lab you have a quiz on the material you are going to do that day. The quizes are really easy, everything you need to now is in the lab!
I look earth science in fall 2011 with one teacher and took the lab for the class 1 year later (fall 2012) with Peebles and still made a B. Although his hand writing looks like chicken scratch, he knows science! And if you dont know the answer on a test, if you write a really good joke, he gives you partial credit!
Peebles was a great teacher, I would recommend him to anyone. He makes lectures fun and class enjoyable, he knows his stuff. He is there for you whenever you need him, he will let you know when he'll be in the library and when he'll be in his office. Take notes, ask questions, and do the homework. Drops 2 lowest quizzes, 4 tests, 1 cum. final.
Mr. Peebles is an awesome teacher. He is very straight forward and easy going. Definitely take his class. I just took it in the summer and passed it with an A. The final is pretty much a summary of your post labs and course material. Good Luck!
I enjoyed going to lab every day! He helps a lot when it comes to questions and is willing to work with you when it comes to grades. I wish I took him as my lecture also!
Nice Teacher, will help if you ask. My only complaint is maybe more explanation of materials in book. Fair, I wish I had taken him for lecture also. I learned a few things I didn't know before
I honestly really like Dr. Peebles! The only thing is that he isn't always super clear in class, but you can always ask him to slow down and clarify or visit his office. I haven't ever seen a professor be so accommodating, which is helpful in a class like Chem!
Mr. Peebles is great. His lectures are a bit hard to follow sometimes because he thinks faster than he writes and makes mistakes but if you see him during office hours he will take all the time you need to help you understand the material. His tests aren't hard and he always gives a curve and extra credit. His lectures ARENT boring either.
Dr. Peebles is a wonderful instructor and extremely knowledgeable on the material he presents. Though his hand writing is sloppy he makes up for it in taking extra time to explain anything you may not be clear on.
Good professor. Very knowledgeable. Lectures with PowerPoint and writes on the board. Gives study questions out of textbook for tests and tells essay questions beforehand. Extra credit is available for every test and is usually easy. Doesn't post grades online though which sucks. Class itself is relatively boring but not bad. Nice guy.
Awesome instructor. Very knowledgeable and a really nice guy. Tests weren't difficult if you took good notes. Had him for earth science lab as well. Highly recommend.
Peebles was a nice guy but I couldn't stand going to his lectures. He is by far the most boring prof to listen to. All these comments say how great he is but here I am a day before the final with awful notes, no study guide and not knowing my grade, if he's received any of my journals or anything. Doesn't use angel or reply to emails.
Best teacher to take for any lab, he was really helpful and will help you if you don't understand. Sometimes there are quizzes before we start, really easy but he offers extra credit if you write a joke on it. Wish he taught every subject, that's how awesome he is.
I never took chemistry in high school so i figured it would be really hard in college. Mr. peeble's class is not that bad. I studied hard and read the textbook and managed to get a B in the class with no prior knowledge about the subject. At first it seemed hard and i considered dropping out but I'm glad I hung in there. READ THE TEXT BOOK!
Don't count on learning something from him. If you have a question he will just give you an answer. A lot of idle talk in class. Doesn't use angel, and takes forever to grade labs. Really hard to figure out your grade. Would not recommend if it's something you will later need, like Chem. I will not take him ever again.
He is really good to take for Science if you have not taken it for a few years. He always has his door open to help with extra things, and is willing to review items right before the test. I would take him again for any class.
This class only consisted of 4 test grades and 4 test review questions to be turned in the day of each test. You should definitely invest in the textbook; I didn't & it would have helped me a lot. I honestly never went to class & just crammed in his power points online right before-not the best method but it got me a B. Super helpfulaccommodating
Interesting lecturer, very helpful, tests what he teaches. 4 Tests, no Final exam (yeah!), 8 summary's of recent articles, and plenty of extra credit opportunities. Highly recommend.
Loved Peebles. He's probably my favorite. Ever. I didn't want to take oceanography but I signed up after having him for intro to Chem.
Professor Peebles is one of the best professors at SPC. He was very knowledgable and I thoroughly enjoyed his lectures and humor. Test were difficult, but definitely manageable if you study the material. Highly recommend him for any physical science class he is teaching.
Peebles in an awesome guy! He essentially tells you what to study for his tests, so make sure to take notes! Lectures can be very boring sometimes, however, he does try to make it interesting. Overall, just study well for his tests and do your two article summaries (2 due per test day; 4 tests total).
Dr. Peebles makes science interesting. I thoroughly enjoyed his class. Your grade is based upon several science journal summaries and four tests. He does not take attendance (besides the first two weeks of class). He is a happy guy and tries to make science fun and interesting. I would definitely take him again.
Professor Peebles is great. He wants to get you excited about science and knows that sometimes it can be really boring. Tests are easy as long as you study and do the homework. Gives extra credit for each test and will help you out if you need it. Most of his notes are just written on the whiteboard so make sure to pay attention.
He's a nice guy I just don't think he's very good at explaining things. It has been really hard for me and he expects a lot of detail on the take home tests. I study a lot but feel like I learned nothing in this class.
Professor Peebles has to have been one of the best professors I have come in contact with at SPC. He is hilarious, and makes class interesting; they are definitely worth going to. His tests aren't easy, but if you study and take his class seriously then you'll have no issue passing with an A.
This was one of the easiest classes I have taken. He really wants to help you and see you pass. During notes, he is a little soft spoken and goes through the slides almost way too fast to take notes. He still was a good teacher though. He gave you the essay questions so you could nail them on the test. I finished with an A+. Take it if you need it.
Great teacher. Very helpful and he wants everyone to pass. No homework but you have to write article reviews on test days. Labs are long and lectures can get a bit boring but he will help you every step of the way. I would definitely take him again
This class is 2 hours & 15 minutes, but it fulfills the lab requirement for a science course. Half of the class time is lecture, the other half is working on labs. No midterm or final, just four tests. I'm not good at science, but Prof. Peebles makes the material interesting and fun. Take notes, do all the work, study and you will be fine.
One of my favorite teachers at SPC. Anyone who doesn't get an A didn't work for it. Lots of extra credit, and very easy to talk to. No excuse not to get an A. Would take any of his other classes in a heart beat. I will note lectures are long, however after all that time it's worth it. He always puts funny twists on what he's teaching.
Simple class with easy labs and he helps with them. He gives a nice break down before each test.
Great Professor with a good sense of humor & funny stories. Easy A if you study. Tests are what his presentations & homework are on. Extra credit available. The only thing I don't like is he always says he'll post the homework soon but does it much later. It is now a week from finals and he hasn't posted it yet. Would take this professor again.
One of the best professors at SPC. He's very laid back and if you don't understand something, he will explain it to you. 4 Exams, labs due at the end of the semester (you can work on them in class or at home) and 2 journals due before each exam. He offers extra credit too. I'm taking him for another class next semester and I can't wait.
Mark is the best teacher iv had at SPC. He is understanding, reasonable and fair. He has 4 exams and a final, they aren't "easy" but he gives a study guide and if more than 50% of the class gets a problem wrong he drops it. He understands chem is hard, which is a relief. He gives quizzes that are essentially the hw questions and you can use notes.
he just rocks take him
I've had the pleasure of taking Professor Peebles for 2 courses this semester. Earth Science and Oceanography. Both classes were awesome. He offers extra credit and his tests are easy as long as you study from his presentations, the book, and his lectures. 4 exams and additional assignments in each class. He is always there to answer any questions.
if you have to take him take him bio, not chem. He would always just do the problem and never really explain the step to get the answer and he has a problem with standing right in front of the board while writing. there's no homework so you have to do well on the tests (4). youtube videos and study groups are definitely helpful
Professor peebles will not only effectively deliver the course content to you, but you can tell he is passionate about it as well. His lectures are engaging and full of essential information.
Dr.. Peebles is a great professor - he was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the topics at hand. Definitely has the life calling as a scientist or professor. The material wasnt the most exciting or simple to grasp but it wasnt impossible. This was my first lab taken and I was relieved it wasnt demanding.
He is a nice professor essay class. His tests are not hard if you study for them he allows 1 page of notes for them. The book is NEEDED. 5 test total last one is the final and the 4th is a take home test thats 15 small essays with plenty of time and open book. This helps your grade out before the final. This class has paper labs. TAKE IT ITS EASY.
(Blended Class) Professor Peebles is a great guy. If you are terrible or hate science, then he is perfect for you. He helps you understand the material but also have fun with it. Just read, do the homework, and you will be TOTALLY fine. AND there is extra credit that is worth a lot! You will love him, and he wants you to succeed.
HE's great. Mainly just labs are your grades. Drops the two lowest labs though. As soon as you go into class you start your lab. You need to have it printed out in front of you though. Otherwise you'll be writing every question down. If you need help understanding something he is always willing to help you out with your question.
Professor Peebles is a true gem. During the 2020 quarantine, his Earth Science class moved online easily. He gives ample extra credit opportunity, simple tests (either multiple choice in class or take home open-book essay questions), and is available outside class. Labs are fun and he makes enjoying the course easy. I'd definitely take him again.
Professor Peebles is heavy on lectures so be sure to show up to his class. The homework is fairly easy and so are the labs. As long as you show up and do the work the tests aren't too bad. He is a great teacher! Make sure you have the book and the lab book!
The easiest class. You can not fail. Just do the homework, & study the best you can for the exam w/ the study guide provided. He even gives "take-home" test & just requires you to do the references, the easiest thing. Through the whole coronavirus thing when campus closed, he made things a whole lot easier & really understood the difficulty of it.
Professor Peebles is a good person and enjoys teaching. He can be very heavy on lectures, but there is an average-sized workload. His tests are easy if you take time to study, but they don't require a crazy amount of studying. The test can either be in class, or a take-home just depends on the class. He also gives extra credit opportunities.
I have never done this bad in a course before, the assignments are super difficult to understand, and maybe it was just because I did an online version of the class due to COVID-19, regardless, I was so stressed, and when I did not understand an assignment, it took him forever to respond back, and even then his responses where not helpful at all
Don't take if you plan on doing online. Don't feel like i learned much of anything and the study guide for the midterm was essentially "do your work." Also very confusing with due dates.
I have never been accused of cheating before until I got into this class. I got help from a friend whom had taken the class before years ago, and apparently she didn't actually help. I asked her to aide me and she didn't much ore than just say it "should" be about this.
If I have to draw and label one more thing in this class I will lose it. He is not a bad professor by any means, but the level of coloring, labeling and the vagueness in the instructions for the assignments is enough to drive one insane. Maybe if I took this in person it'd be different, but online is just a pain in the butt and I'm losing my hair
This is the most boring person I've ever met. You won't be able to stay awake. I don't remember one thing from his earth science class. All the assignments are in the textbook, so if you do those & study them you'll pass just fine. But every lecture was exhausting to sit through.
Peebles himself is a nice guy. However, the lectures are incredibly boring, and that's what we had to sit through every class. I ended up skipping most of the time. The instructions on his online assignments are pretty vague.
professor peebles is a nice guy, but sucks at communication. doesnt answer emails until days later, and his class and directions are unorganized and dont make sense. the work is easy once you figure out how to do it, but its so hard to figure it out.
Sweetest professor I ever had! He really connects with the students and enjoys getting to know them. I had the blended Earth science course and it was mostly lectures, which were decent, and alot of online work. It's not necessarily hard, jut make sure u don't far behind! He also tells u how to study for your test which is great! Such a chill class
Prof. Peebles is very workable. This class has a multiple assignments in each module, but they are easy to complete. Some assignments are time consuming, but with a little more than average effort youll pass.
