Dr. Pezzo is very bright and is down right hilarious when it comes to his lectures. You will want to pay attention and take notes as things will pop on the test from them.
Horrible for every class I had him for. Would rather transfer schools than take him again. I am a 3.9 student, and hated how anecdotal his class was. Id rather learn about psychology than about his new wife.
He is awful. His wife, his life, we don't care! He need to be in a room all by himself doing research---not bothering others.
Very straightforward w/ what he expects from the class, and gives helpful studying techniques. Very clear w/ the material and gives flowing analogies. Students complaining about him talking about his life probably feel envious he is happy in all aspects.
very distracted by his life. needs an outline to follow to get things done.
Dr. Pezzo rules. Go to the lectures; pay attention; write notes = doing great on tests. This is college - that's how it works. He isn't that difficult. Quit crying. Oh and the guy is an absolute riot but might offend you if your an uptight conservative.
this guy is pretty good. tests are pretty hard, but he is straightforward with what he expects from you. memorize the chapters (really) and pay attn. to his examples in class. good curves on exams. i would take him again, i learned a lot. he's a bit wrapped up in his life, but he is a good teac
Honestly, Dr. Pezzo is a wonderful teacher. Incredibly HOT, funny, and an awesome teacher. I always love to see teachers that have a passion for what they do. His class is not really easy, you do have to study and go to class... I would reccomend him to anyone!
Dr. Pezzo brings a ton of enthusiasm to the classroom. He really makes you think outside of the box. I could only take one other course with this because it is so time consuming. Really tough tests, but made the course amusing!! I recommend. He doesn't obsess about family either!
Extremly unorganized - loses papers! Tests are hard! Never stays on subject, 3 hour classes are unbearable. Will never take another class of his!
Dr. Pezzo is a great professor. He makes the class lectures so interesting that the class is over before you know it. The tests may be a bit difficult but he always prepares you for it.
I liked him alot. Made class exciting and intreasting. He is a hard teacher, you have to go to class and study!
Dr. Pezzo is great. He's really funny. I don't know what people are talking about when people say his tests are hard. The tests are incredibly straight forward and not tricky at all. Just read the book. The classes aren't even very necessary to get an A.
He sucks
Dr. Pezzo is an awsome teacher. He is so animated and extremely funny. This has to be the best psychology teacher that I have ever had. His test are a little difficult, however, hes a really easy going teacher and is usually willing to help you out as much as he can. I would deffinately recommend him as a teacher to anyone who is interested.
I'm sure he's alright in some of his other classes, but not this one! He gets sidetracked in lectures; and even with a teaching assistant, he can't stay on top of things. His tests suck and I won't ever take another class of his!
I definitely will never take any one of his classes ever again. He is a very unorganized person. He is very enthusiastic, but he never stays on track...he doesn't explain things in a clear manner in which is easy for you to understand. His test are always tricky, you can know all the material but still fail his test. he's always out to trick u.
Very unorganized. He missed about 6 classes and complains about student attendance. Quizzes are meant to trick you, not for understanding. He is pushing us hard at the end because he slacked in the beginning of the semester. Loves to call himself DOCTOR Pezzo. He is charasmatic, but not enough to make me take his class again!!!
Very helpful and easy on the eyes
people are crazy for saying bad things about this class. its a hard class in general but dr pezzo did a great job teaching it and really cared how students were doing. definitely the best professor i've ever had.
Great teacher! Taught in unconventional manner, but great learning experience! The articles covered empirical evidence that anyone can learn from! Alot of articles. The tests and quizzes really examine your understanding of studies evaluated. Great overall professor!
Pezzo is a horrible teacher.Class discussions are useless, text book is more interesting & does a better job conveying the material than he does!know the text well=do well.does ask ambigious ?'s which lack efficient info to answer properly.Overall, lazy, conceded and he is not a teacher but something else..maybe a wannabe researcher. lol
This is an easy class with a great textbook that could be taught by anyone and be interesting. I would suggest that you take DR. (don't forget the Dr.) Pezzo before taking other psych classes so you won't feel the constant urge to correct him, as he is quite fragile and prone to tantrums.
I think he is a great professor overall. He is very willing to help. Very enthusiastic during class, makes class more interesting. Tests are a bit difficult, but if you can understand the material it is not that bad. I would definitely take him again and reccommend him to anyone.
Best prof at USF. The class is difficult, but if you apply yourself and really try at every assignment and exam- you can do well. He is hilarious and down to earth. Really cares about his students and how well you do. The class actually made me interested in research!
This class is pretty tough material. Dr. Pezzo makes it the best that it can be, and will bend over backwards to help you. Do not complain if you will not even go to him and ask for help/clarification. I have already signed up for his Social Psych class. He has to be cool, he is in a band. :) Seriously. Great professor with some humor involved.
Great professor. He is very interested in making sure students perform well in the class and (whether you want it or not) will give advice pertaining to outside of the class as well. Class is a little difficult, but know the book inside and out and you'll get an A.
Dr. Pezzo is definitely an interesting professor. He has a lot to talk about and he knows his stuff when it comes to psychology. He sometimes seems disorganized, especially when it comes to his power points. The material seems super easy, but somehow he makes his exams challenging. Reading the text will most likely get you an A.
freekin awesome teacher. really makes material interesting. study guides help alot and if you read the book b4 each exam you will keep at least a B in the class
He is a hard professor and can be a little tough. But he does try and help.
I think Dr. Pezzo is awesome, I've had him for 2 classes and although I did well in both, I worked for them. He's fun and not a hard ass prof as some are, if you have a problem, just talk to him, seriously, he'll try to help you out in any way he can. I've had some jerk prof, so I totally appreciated his style of teaching and openness.
Do NOT take Research methods with Dr. Pezzo. He fools you by "caring" but unorganized, you have to harass email to get any question answered, all tests have miskeyed answered so always double check every grade,he seems cool at the start until you realize he's on a major power trip and the tests/quizzes are just trick questions.
Definitely knows his stuff and makes learning the info fun, but the tests are pretty hard and the only grades in the class. He is helpful and makes himself available to his students. I took research methods with him as well and found that class easier. Expect to go to all the classes and study hard for the tests.
He does seem kind of into himself. I think he may be having a mid life crisis. His tests have many errors on them so he ends up adding a huge curve the class avg on every exam was in the eighties. He seems pretty unorganized for being associate dean of the school.
He is a great professor. He has a TA that makes all the tests and quizes so they are very easy. Just read the book and do the homework, and you will have no problem pasing the tests.Even though it is a statistics class, there are not very many math questions on the tests or quizzes.
he is unorganized- like Lieutenant Columbo or Inspector Clouseau, do not let this fool you.You are in college now- you are responsible to know the material - he is just a facilitator with a warped sense of humor. If you do what he says you will learn and earn a good grade.
A very fun professor, very lively, kept lectures interesting. You DO have to work for your grade, though. Lots of independent studying. But as long as you study you should be fine!!
Pretty awesome professor. Study and read for the exams and you'll do fine.
Absolutely love this man! You do have to work in his class, but he will help you if you need him. I think he is my favorite Psych professor at USFSP
This class was super straight-forward: Read. The. Book. Dr. Pezzo makes that clear in the beginning, and he means it. We just had 4 tests that came straight from the chapters. I love SOP, so it was really easy for me, but I bet anyone would enjoy this class.
I really enjoyed his lectures. He's hot and entertaining!Final grades are based solely on average of test grades, and he drops the lowest score at the end, which helps. Not a bad class to take, as long as you read the chapters and attend class. I recommend him as a professor, and I recommend the class.
Dr.Pezzo is an awesome teacher he is entertaining and very helpful. His class isn't easy but it is very straight forward and him and his TA are there to help! I took his Psy stats class and I recommend studying vocab!
Took this class previously with a different professor and it was terrible. Took it online with Pezzo and he was so incredibly helpful. Before each exam he did an online study session which was awesome. The only days mandatory were the test days and the first day for attendance. The exams werent bad as long as you actually study.
Awesome professor. The first exam gives you insight on how the rest will be. Not easy! Make sure you understand all the material and DO THE PRACTICE HOMEWORK AND HOMEWORK. Most, if not all, questions on the exam comes directly from this!!! Do extra credit! Sometimes takes a while to get back to you.
Dr. Pezzo is a great teacher to take for Research Methods! He shows interest and excitement on the topics and provides more than enough help if you have a question. This class is a lot of work, but if you keep up with the homework it is easy!
This guy !! He is all over the place with his "helpful" video lectures. He continually had errors which caused major confusion. He never got back to emails until two or three days later, his online test reviews were a joke nothing he covered were on the actual exam. I took this course as “blended” but we only went in for the exams.
Dr. Pezzo is such a trip. He is witty and engaging, and he explains the material well. Dr. Pezzo goes out of his way to make to content relevant and meaningful, and he really cares about his students. If you need help or are confused - ask. Do not rely solely on the PPT lectures. Actively read the text and take notes, and you'll be golden. :)
Took a hybrid course over the summer which I was super worried about, but surprisingly it wasn't bad! If you keep up weekly with the learning you'll be fine. And the review conferences are a MUST. But he made it interesting and comprehensible.
I did not get an A in the class but I definitely learned a lot.
I've had him for three different classes at USF(sop4004,psy3213,3204) and he is awesome! He makes class fun and actually knows how to keep you interested. He is always helpful if you don't understand things and willing to give extra help outside of class. He can be a little unorganized and get off topic but I definitely reccomend him for any class.
He really seems to be a great guy. I have him this semester, and he goes above and beyond to help his students succeed. He's also really entertaining and easy on the eyes;-) lol I had a mixed class, mostly online, but exams were taken in class. Psychological statistics can be a tough subject, but it's just study and practice.
Dr. Pezzo really knows his subject, unfortunately he lacks both the organizational skills and communication skills necessary to teach an online or hybrid class. He is ridiculously energetic, but it does not convey itself into a cohesive learning experience in either his video presentations or his technical explainations.
I took PSY 3204 online with the exams taken in class. I am horrible when it comes to math but with studying and practice, passing this class is possible! Graded homework due almost every week but there is plenty of ungraded practice first and 5 Exams, the last being a cumulative and he drops the lowest. The TA, Adryona, was also VERY helpful!
Best prof I've had at USFSP. Hated taking psych stats online, but he was always accessible in his office for help. FUNNY! Makes dry stats interesting. Live online video study sessions before exams are the best! Scatterbrained & you'll have to remind him to do/post things. Great personality & cares. Go see his band (Google it) outside of USFSP.
Worst class and professor Ive ever had. Took online psych stats awful lectures. Had a 4.0 until i took his class and am currently failing all the assignments becuse he explains nothing. Doesnt reply to emails, doesnt help when you ask. WORST PROFESSOR EVER. HATE THIS CLASS. Im an outstanding math student got 99% in stats, but this class is horrid
Great professor. Stats might seem intimidating but he posts videos and explains the chapter very clearly. He makes the class better with his family stories and jokes. Exams are based on his lectures. I would take him again.
A lot of typos in homework assignments which sometimes caused confusion. Homeworks took me forever to get through. Tests don't cover the material from homework most of the time.
Dr. Pezzo is a great professor. I took psy stats online with him. I was really nervous about passing this class. He dropped the lowest test, couple homeworks, and SPSS. There was extra credit during one of the test (super easy). We used Mind Tap program to take all the weekly homework. Mind Tap and Dr. Pezzo has videos that teach every section.
I liked this class but there is an excessive amount of work to do every week AND MindTap does not work most of the time and it is extremely frustrating (sometimes it won't let you click on multiple choice answers or drop down menus) and you will get a bad grade because it does not let you answer test/homework questions when it is not your fault.
For a class that no one actually wants to take, it was good with this professor. Prof. Pezzo was extremely easy to follow and he was always available for help. there was a lot of work every week and it was easy to fall behind but he drops a lot of low grades which makes it easy to end with a good grade.i would highly recommend this class with him
This is by far the best class I have taken besides Motivational Psych. Mr Pezzo will drop your lowest scores and theres no way to fail. If you do no homework and just bs the class you will fail. I hate math and I did good in this class. Trust me take this class online and do your homework. Practice Exams are just like the exam.
Dr. Pezzo is a mediocre professor. His lectures get very offensive and he is condescending towards his students. His grading structure is poor to say the least. Very unorganized and a poor lecturer. He grades off tests he even admits not to writing and thinks are poorly written after the fact. He pushes his political views and refutes others.
Very straightforward class, 10 homeworks (4 dropped), 5 exams (2 dropped), and 4 SPSS assignments (1 dropped), the homework is time consuming but you learn the material for the exam. I dont like statistics or math but this class was not too bad, read the textbook and make notes.
PROS: Dr. Pezzo is very engaging and humorous. He is available to help and redirects you to tutoring. Offers extra credit, and drops lowest 4 homeworks & 2 exam grades. Allows notes during exam. CONS: Video lectures are a little out of date, exams are created by the T.A, and you MUST read the textbook & take notes to pass the course.
Be prepared to take a class where exams are 75% of your grade! Lectures were alright but there were times where he just didnt know the answer to certain questions about certain studies. Also, beware sometimes he gets offensive especially when it comes to politics. The TA was great but I will probably not take this class or professor again.
Most of your grade are tests and attendance. There are also 3 writing assignments that are just 2 paragraphs as well. The tests were hit or miss but they got better as the semester went along. Dr. Pezzo is a great lecturer and I found the class to be extremely interesting. I hope he adds more assignments instead of exams however.
Well firstly he was not prepared to teach a summer class, so his lectures and notes were all over the place. He wants you to memorize the entire chapter as well as all of his studies. The tests have errors in them and he updates the test while students are taking them. I feel like he should teach clown school because his class is a joke.
He is disorganized and RUDE. If you want to enjoy and learn in a safe /supportive environment > DO NOT CHOOSE THIS PROFESSOR.
Dont take this class. Pezzo is arrogant and unprofessional and is ALWAYS right. Dont ever think about challenging his opinion, bc youre wrong and he has the power to show you. Its like working with a child. If you like grades being changed during tests, after classes end, know it all teacher, exam heavy classes etc., this is the one for you :)
Do not take Professor Pezzo for anything, most of all psychology statistics. His lectures are short and not on par with the material. Tests never line up with the book or class. Be PREPARED to fight for a decent grade.
Dr. Pezzo's class on Social Psychology is like no other class you have taken before. The class is great because the lectures are very engaging and Dr. Pezzo makes you think outside the box. The class is also tough because his exams are not easy. His exams make you apply topics learned. He did curve the exams to help accommodate. Not an easy A
Pezzo is clearly passionate in what he teaches and his lectures overall are interesting to listen to; however, his exams are so difficult it almost ruins it all for me personally. He is big on memorizing material and makes you memorize every single thing from the textbooks and his lecture slides, something that can be extremely stressful for most.
He is very responsive, gets back to you quickly. DO start homework early in the week.
Overall, this class was not too difficult, but there is a lot of homework due at the end of each week and it is not posted on Canvas, so beware of that. The lowest homework and exam grades will also be dropped, and the final grade is heavily curved. Prof Pezzo's online videos are pretty helpful, but you have to look some things up in the textbook.
Tests were difficult, homework was weird, and content overall wasn't taught well. Seems like a nice guy, but I couldn't finish psych stats with him
If you don't attend class you will not pass. He says you need to memorize everything for the tests and while that information is a lot, he drops one test grade. Professor Pezzo is funny and makes a lot of jokes, comments, etc. about what he is teaching.
Homework can be challenging, but he/teaching assistants were always super responsive and helpful. Drops lowest exam and homework grade.
Emailing the professor for an answer took time to get a response, most of the important information sent came from the TA. Barely heard from him, other to lecture us on something the class did. Does not explain the homework well. Take this class in person if possible
Lecture videos actually SUCK, they are years old and don't cover all of the content. Nothing is curved even though all exam averages were in the low 60s. He very rarely offers study sessions but again doesn't work through problems. I hope you are already good/decent at math because if you're not then... good luck charlie.
Pezzo is truly an AMAZING professor. he's actually really funny & makes lecture fun through engagement. I genuinely believe that he cares about his students and how they're doing in and outside of his class. if you're struggling with his class TALK to him he's very understanding and will help you out. exams r rough bc u HAVE to memorize everything
AMAZING! So funny and relatable and keeps you engaged. Doesnt accept slack from his students but really encourages you to do your best. Tests are easy as long as you study, which he tells you what major points are on the test. Only con is that the 4 exams are the ONLY grades given in the class. So really pay attention and attend class! 10/10!!!
Funny while lecturing but sometimes stays on one topic for too long. It is a somewhat hard course if you don't study because you have to memorize the PowerPoints word for word because the tests are word for word the PowerPoints. Make sure that you really study for the exams because those are the only grades in the class. Overall a good professor
Dr. Pezzo was the BEST profesor I've had so far. He is very funny in lectures & cares a lot about his students & really try's to help them understand the information. His class is the only class I look forward to The tests are pretty much the only grades and are right from the powerpoint. I would 100% take another one of his classes.
The course is mainly just the student reading from the textbook and doing the homework and tests by themselves. Coursework is all self-explanatory and the professor lets you know everything you need to do to obtain a good grade.
I can tell he really cares about this subject and wants us Psych majors so succeed in the future. The information itself was fairly easy to grasp and the lectures and textbook guides were the most helpful material for exams. While the exams were mainly the only grades in the class, he made sure to cover all the material that would be on the tests.
Dr. Pezzo is a great professor that really cares about his students. I learned more about psychology and research from him than in my research methods class. The content is very interesting although you need to memorize it and truly understand it. You will not be able to pass this class if you don't put in the work in study.
The course featured outstanding lectures, but success hinged significantly on memorization, making it less advisable for individuals with weaker memory or exam performance. Despite this, the professor delivered engaging and detailed lectures.
This class was pretty difficult to do online because you don't have in-person lectures and the professor to ask questions. The TA did most of the announcements and I never emailed so I don't know his response time. The homework was difficult and had no guidance and the exams weren't based off of the homework but he drops the 2 lowest exam grades.
He's so entertaining, funny and memorable. Heavily stresses you memorize the PowerPoints/lectures/studies- if you can do that you'll do well on his exams. Keep in mind he only grades exams and lecture outlines you write with an occasional assignment tossed in so do well on exams. Would take him again, mess with him, joke and have fun!
By far the best professor I have had. Yes, you have to memorize. No, it is not hard to do. I used Quizlet to make flashcards and do practice tests and the lowest exam grade I had was a 89. Do NOT let the exam-heavy aspect of this class scare you!!! Take Dr. Pezzo's advice when it comes to studying and I promise you will not be disappointed.
Very entertaining class
Dr. Pezzo was hilarious. There aren't many assignments except turning it outlines of your notes before the exam. There were 5 exams and two were dropped. There were interesting discussions during every lecture. He didn't take attendance but you'd want to be there. The textbook is assigned but you could get away with not reading it. Take this class!
My favorite professor I've ever had. Got along super great and was always available after class to answer questions. Just be ready to read the textbook. Both the TA and professor stress as much as possible to read the textbook, or else you will struggle. It also helps DRASTICALLY to know how to take notes. But superb class; 10/10 would take again
