Great at teaching. As clear as can be dealing with a lot of information to cover in a relatively short amount of time. Easy to understand said information. Attendance to class almost paramount to getting good grades as he does a better job than the textbooks explaining.
The best professor I've had by far. He makes everything so clear and he is also hilarious. His slides are all up on blackboard but attend class to watch the videos as they will show up on exams. I would take another class with him in a heartbeat. He is the best!!!!
Posts slides. Classes are VERY interesting and easy to follow. Always funny and sometimes says anecdotes...Exams are all MCQs. Study the slides and your notes VERY well and you'll get an A. Focus on the videos he shows in class because he asks about them in his exams.
i agree w/ the general consensus over his helpfulness and clarity; he is great. HOWEVER, this is no regard an easy class! Test avgs (so far we've taken 3 of 4) are a 75 and he doesn't gives curves or extra credit. The 4 papers make up 20% and are all easy 100%. Still, the grade of an avg student gets a C+/B-...not typical for a intro psych course
He's pretty good. I like his lecture style. He explains concepts pretty clearly with (sometimes funny) examples. It's good that he posts the slides before class so that you can print them and bring them to class. He plays people's song requests and drinks cappuccino every class lol. Only thing I don't like about this class is that the MCQs exams.
He's a cool guy and a great teacher. His lectures are interesting, especially the videos. He explains the material well and with humor. He assigns reading from the textbook, but just focus on the lecture slides, and you'll do well.
My favorite class the semester I took it. His lectures are entertaining and easy to follow, and tests were all multiple choice and fairly easy as long as you studied. I only remember using the text book once though, so I'd suggest saving your money there. Otherwise, take this class!!!
He is a really good professor. His lectures are very clear and funny and though they are sometimes boring, the slideshows are all on blackboard and its easy to catch up. He gives study guides for every test. He also has the most adorable new baby that he talks about during his lectures about developmental psychology. Take this class!
Lectures were incredibly interesting, tests were confusingly worded. Hard to get an A since there are only three grades per semester.
The professor is great, but didn't really get to know him much because I didn't really get to interact with him. You come to a lecture, sit a lecture (pretty interesting), and do 3 exams within the semester. Hard to get an A though, really got to study--no make up tests.
He is the best professor I have ever had in my 5 years at Northeastern. I'm about to graduate and his course really inspired me to pursue graduate school in psychology when I was initially unsure if it was for me.
Prokosch is an awesome professor. Definitely need to come to class and take good notes. I'm thinking about majoring in psychology thanks to him.
I had heard that I should take intro psych with Professor Prokosch. I'm glad I did. He is really interesting and I actually looked forward to his lectures. He also has a super dry sense of humor. Also, one class he fell off a table - sort of on purpose - to help us remember what the hippocampus does. Highly recommend.
I appreciated his enthusiasm and that he included a lot of current topics in his lectures. I would have preferred to have more than just 3 exams to base our grade on, but at least he was willing to give extra credit. He's the best professor I've had.
READ THE BOOK!
Not only he's a very passionate about the class, he's incredibly hilarious. He will definitely make you interested in psychology. Went into this class thinking I'll hate it but I absolutely loved it.
He's very friendly and interested in the topic, but he expects students to memorize EVERYTHING he says in lectures and makes no attempt to clarify which parts are the most important. Your entire grade is based on 3 tests that are extremely hard and the questions are very specific. It's almost impossible to get an A, but he's still a good teacher.
Attendence isn't mandatory, but if you don't want to read the book just go and take notes because you won't need to get the book and he asks questions that come directly from the videos we watch in class. Honestly, just do not get the book and go to class, he even gives you study guides that you only really need the lecture slides to fill out
Makes an intro psych class interesting and personalized.
The best intro course I have ever taken in any subject area. Professor Prokosch is simply the best.
I actually looked forward to going to class because the professor was such a great lecturer and an interesting guy. He posts his lecture slides online before each class, but you definitely need to go to class to do well on the tests.
Mark is a very chill professor, gives study guides for tests which are all multiple choice. Some questions are on videos discussed in lecture which are not posted to blackboard, but besides that it's an easy class.
Man I loved this class. He's my most favorite professor I've had.
Professor Prokosch is one of my favorite teachers. He's a genuinely wonderful person, & he's a great teacher who is passionate about the subject. Always willing to offer help, answer questions in class, & understand when deadlines need to shift to accommodate that stressful week or two when tests/quizzes/etc are overwhelming. 10/10 recommend.
Mark is a very nice guy and his lectures cover pretty much everything on the test. There really isn't any need to read the textbook as long as you read the power points. There are some questions on the test that are based on videos you can only view if you go to class. Overall, very approachable and nice guy whose lectures are interesting.
Professor Prokosch is an excellent lecturer! Almost all of the things on his tests came from notes we took in class, so you don't really need to read the textbook, unless you want to clarify topics. He is funny and includes lots of videos in his lectures to make it interesting.
Prokosch is phenomenal.
He's great! He's very nice, makes dad jokes, makes a point to not cut students off even when someone's story goes on for a while. Pretty clear about what the tests were on, but they were online open note so while some questions were tricky, you could figure it out. The homework seems intimidating but it's simple and easy and fairly graded. 10/10
Mark is amazing. He was accessible outside of class, very caring, and absolutely hilarious. He tries to make the content as fun as possible. Assignments are based on almost weekly papers, which were sometimes very annoying, and class presentations. As long as you show up to class, put in effort into your papers, and do as he asks, you'll get an A.
Mark is an amazing professor. I have learned a lot about research in social psychology. He provides helpful feedback on papers and sets a comfortable atmosphere for learning. The seminar format allows for student-led learning rather than simply being lectured to, which has helped me to feel more confident in my presentation skills. He is top notch!
Love him! He's funny and super nice! His lectures are not too heavy and break down lecture presentations w/ interesting short videos/docus. Some online quizzes that are open books which are easy. His tests are MC and very easy if you follow his study guide! Attendance not mandatory. Got a FBI guest speaker to come which was so cool! don't need book
Professor Prokosch is amazing. He's certainly the best professor I've had so far (I'm in my fourth year). I really learned so much in his class. He's very helpful outside of class, and his lectures are super engaging. I switched my minor to psychology because of him.
Professor Prokosch was wonderful and I truly enjoyed his class. The structure of lectures and the provided study guides were extremely accessible and helped me learn. Very smart guy. I appreciated his humor, his openness to questions, and his ability to make lectures both informative and engaging. I would happily take another class with him.
He said he ran the class like a graduate course, which was intimating at first, but then I realized that it was geared towards preparing me for graduate school. We read a lot of articles across the field of social psych and had to do group presentations and write several papers. But Mark was a fair grader and gave good feedback. Highly recommend.
Prof. Prokosch was great. If you take the class over the summer, be prepared for long lectures, but he makes them super interesting and uses a lot of videos etc. Make sure to go to class, tests are worth 75% of the grade and the material is entirely covered in class. there is also a service-learning requirement of 6hrs (you take psych experiments)
Amazing professor and an easy A guaranteed. It might seem like theres a lot of material but he gives a study guide for each exam, just study those and youll be fine. 25%*3 tests on lecture material + 25% online quizzes on textbook readings (quizlet has all the answers)
Mark is a great professor who makes class engaging and exciting. Even though he does not take attendance, I find myself excited to go to his class. His tests are a bit dense, but extremely straightforward if you study your lecture notes. Also, do not buy the textbook. It was expensive and I did not open it once.
YOU SHOULD TAKE THIS CLASS WITH MARK FOR SURE
Mark is fantastic. I always found myself looking forward to coming to his class! There are 3 exams (2 midterm, 1 final) and none of them are cumulative. Quizzes are all online and open note. Very easy A if you take notes on the lectures and fill out the study guides he gives. Exams never stray from the study guide content.
This is my favorite class and favorite professor I have taken so far in college. Prokosch is a relly outstanding presenter. Super charismatic, smart, and fun. I really loved everything about this class and the lectures. Totally recommend him.
Super funny and such a nice guy. Lectures are interesting and he breaks them up with short videos that make them fly by. Only grades are a few online MC quizzes and MC tests, both are super easy if you follow his study guides. Attendance is not mandatory or needed and neither is the textbook.
Professor Prokosch is the perfect college professor. He is extremely knowledgable and will answer any question outside of lecture material. Knows how to be funny (quirky humor) to engage his students. Extremely easy A so long as you know all information on the study guides - tests do not have any surprises. You will learn a lot too!
This was honestly one of the best classes Ive taken in college, and Professor Prokosch is a huge reason why. I learned so much about not only psychology but myself as well. His lectures are very captivating and class goes by very quickly. Ill definitely be taking more psych classes in the future because of him. Highly recommend.
I really can't say enough good things about Professor Prokosch. I took the class over the summer and each class session was like 3 hours long, but class time went by relatively quickly because Prokosch is really entertaining when he lectures and there's a good amount of class discussion. I also felt like I learned a lot. Definitely recommend him.
Exams and quizzes were all open book!! Quizzes werent timed but exams were so be warned.
Such an interesting class and a wonderful professor. Took it during covid so the exams and quizzes were all online and open-note so it was a pretty easy A. It was an elective course, but probably my favorite. Prokosch is great. Witty and engaging lectures even via Zoom.
Easily one of the best professors I've ever had, if you get the chance to take his class, please do. An incredibly kind, caring, and intelligent professor who gives amazing lectures. If you do the work and listen to lectures, the class is an easy A and you learn a lot of information. Cannot say enough good things about him!
Mark is the best. ever. I am so glad I took his course. He is very passionate about what he teaches, always willing to help/answer questions, and he tries to make class fun. Its very easy to motivate yourself to be in class when you can tell your professor wants to be there, too. Highly recommended.
Professor Prokosch is extremely knowledgeable and supportive. He is quick in responding to e-mails, it was very important in times like these. He is a quick grader and provides the most in-depth descriptive feedback for each submitted work. Overall, he is the BEST!
Mark Prokosch is an amazing professor. He knows how to explain the material clearly and thoroughly while also making it extremely interesting. He has an amazing sense of humor and is overall just a really good guy. Highly recommend taking this class with him!
HE IS THE BEST! Super helpful, very knowledgable, great communications skills, always available, it was a great pleasure to be in his class. I highly recommend taking Seminar course with Mark Prokosch!
Professor Prokosch is an amazing professor. He can relate to who he is teaching and makes the content really interesting. We get to see a lot of real-world applications by watching case studies. We also can ask a lot of questions. He is really kind and passionate about psychology. 3 exams, 4 quizzes. Lectures are posted online.
Excellent professor. Excellent class. Highly recommend.
My favorite class of the semester and my favorite professor. 3 exams, 4 online quizzes, very interesting lectures. Professor Prokosch exceeded expectations.
To be honest, this is one of the most enjoyable and useful classes I have ever taken at Northeastern. Mark was an incredible professor. He has a voice of a professional narrator which never failed to keep my attention. The lectures were very engaging and the coursework was manageable. Recommended to all those taking Foundations of Psychology.
There were lots of weekly readings and papers, but I guess that's expected in a capstone course. Through it all Mark made it really easy for me to want to do my best. His class actually gave me a platform to explore research interests that inspired me to look into a few master's programs. I highly recommend the seminar.
My favorite course at Northeastern. Professor Prokosch was great. He was funny and engaging. Never got bored during his lectures. There were three open-note quizzes and three exams. Study guides were very helpful. This elective led me to change my major to psychology!
I loved everything about this class. Mark always gave really interesting lectures with lots of supplemental videos and anecdotes. There was always some element of discussion and exams and quizzes were straightforward and always based on lectures rather than the textbook. Even though I took it fully remote, I always felt engaged and interested.
I was a huge fan of Professor Prokosch. I enjoyed my time in class and thought the quizzes and exams were very reasonable. I would recommend his class to anyone. He was funny, engaging, and really nice.
Loved this guy. The course wall fully lecture-based, but those lectures were always entertaining and informative. All exams and quizzes were open-note and the study guides were really helpful. Great man, great course. Great elective.
Professor Prokosch was great. He made every day a joy to be in his class. I really learned so much that I feel is relatable to my life. Lectures were always interesting and there was always an opportunity to ask questions and to have some discussion. Exams and quizzes were straight from lecture. Study guides were super helpful. Awesome class!
Mark is the perfect professor. Kind, intelligent, and inspiring. The seminar was a great prep for graduate school, and he was willing to write a letter of recommendation for me. The course mainly involved lots of reading and papers, but we also got to present a topic of our choice and we were exposed to writing a grant proposal as a final project.
Really interesting seminar. Mark was very reasonable in the amount of work we must do for a capstone course. He gave some really interesting lectures and there was a good amount of student presentations. I liked the final project that was a grant proposal-type project. And he was nice enough to write me a letter of recommendation based on my work.
Professor Prokosch was exceptional. The coursework was entirely quizzes and exams, but his lectures were the primary source material and they were way above average, even when the classes lasted 3+ hours. On the last day of Zoom lectures, he even used a potato filter which was totally hilarious and educational simultaneously. Recommended for sure!
I took the summer seminar and there was tons of reading and writing in a short period of time, but it was a capstone course. And Mark was a great professor and really gave me confidence in improving my academic writing. Just be prepared to devote lots of time outside of class to do most of the coursework.
This guy is exceptional. He is funny, personable, and his lectures are top rate. You should take this course and take it with professor Prokosch. I was in the Explorers program and his class made me decide to major in behavioral neuroscience. Attend class, take notes, review your quizzes, and you should do well.
Honestly one of the best psychology professors I've had. I took this class in my first year (I'm a third-year now) and remembered this class when talking about it with a friend of mine. Go to class, do some light review before tests, and you'll get an A. He gives pretty good study guides, too, so studying for tests is easy.
Honestly, if you have a chance to take him just do it. He had 3 quizzes throughout the semester and you take all of them at home. (plus the highest quiz is doubled). You have 3 exams only and honestly they are 50 multiple-question tests so if you just take notes you are fine. He made the final exam online. The best prof I have ever had.
A simple class, he really just wants to give you the information you need to succeed. Read the textbook and listen to his lectures for an A. Use the study guide prior to exams. He's very nice and tries to keep lecture engaging with jokes etc.
Excellent professor, interesting class. It's important to attend class because most of the grade it based on exam questions from lectures (including videos and class discussion). Speaking of lectures, his are exceptional. Engaging and informative. I actually liked showing up for class every day. Def my favorite professor of the semester. Recommend.
This class was a wonderful capstone experience for me. The coursework was manageable with 7 relatively heavy papers, 2 presentations, and class participation. I learned a good amount and Mark really helped me excel in the course. Good feedback, always chill, and was willing to be flexible when necessary.
Mark was what excellent teaching is all about. Informative, entertaining, caring, & inspiring. I loved learning about psychology through his lectures and discussion. If you show up to class and take good notes, you should be fine. I also went to virtual office hours before exams, where he gave strong hints about the exam content, so do that!
Mark has great charisma, and he makes lectures interesting. Class is only lectures and quizzes are all multiple choice, which makes it a bit boring (but what else should you expect from an intro class). He takes questions for quizzes from AP, so you can easily find them online on places such as Quizlet.
I think he was a great professor, I always enjoyed his lectures a lot. There was three exams in total that were worth 25% each and then the rest were open book quizzes. Even though I only got a B I still really enjoyed his class and him as a professor. I hope I can take a class with him in the future!
I had Professor Prokosch for foundations and now the social psychology seminar. He is my favorite professor by far. He makes coming to class an enjoyable experience. Class time was mostly divided into lectures and group presentations. Coursework is somewhat challenging, but he provides good feedback, and is flexible when personal issues come up.
Mark is great! He's super friendly and makes his lectures engaging and funny. My only complaint is that he doesn't always acknowledge the social issues behind some of the psych topics. The course is pretty easy with pretty easy exams and online quizzes being the only grades. I never once read the textbook and was totally fine.
Professor Prokosch is a great lecturer, and the content is super interesting. It's an easy class and it lays a good foundation for psych.
I really loved everything about this class. I ended up enjoying psychology way more than I thought as a math major. He gave really informative, entertaining lectures (including him accidentally falling off a table while trying to describe mirror neurons). The quizzes and exams were pretty much based on his lectures so focus your efforts there.
This was such an interesting and well taught class. The professor explained things very well and used real world examples to help us better understand them.
I was kind of nervous to take this course during summer 2 semester but it really was not bad at all. Mark is clearly passionate about what he teaches and cares a lot about his students. The class itself was also super easy, I didn't open the textbook once and rarely had to study outside of class.
Psych ended up being my favorite class because of this man, entertaining, fun, tries to get everyone involved, and makes it impossible not to pay attention.
Honestly, he is an outstanding professor, and I would recommend him to anyone that wants to take psychology. My section was later in the day, but that didn't matter because of how enjoyable he made the class.
The whole class was based on quizzes and exams, there was no homework. That being said, the quizzes were open note and the exams were not very difficult
Professor Prokosch is my favorite professor at Northeastern so far. He's really funny and engages with his students, which keeps the lecture interesting. Also not hard to get an A if you just take notes in class and read them before the exam. Exams are always multiple choice and quizzes are take home and online.
Prof. Prokosch gives amazing lectures and he's super funny & entertaining but don't take this course if you're expecting something easy, tests are very hard & require a TON of studying content he covers in his lectures. He's straight forward in his expectations but for a 1000 level class, I would have expected this is to be a lot easier.
He is a favorite of mine and I highly recommended taking this class. Quizzes can be difficult but are open-book. Exam questions come straight from his lectures so it's important to be in class. His lectures are top-notch. He is smart, funny, and engaging. Just a great overall class.
I love Mark! Favorite class this semester. Grade is 3 in-class online exams and 4 take-home open-note quizzes - all multiple choice, no homework. Go to lecture!!! He tells you exactly what you'll need to know for exams. Very little time outside of class required, just review notes every now and then and look over his study guides before each exam.
Grades on 3 exams and 4 quizzes. Quizzes are very easy to get 100% on, and all of the exams are multiple choice only. He's a great guy and makes learning fun and engaging. I would definitely recommend.
I highly recommend taking 1101 with Prof. Prokosch. It's a pretty easy course, with straightforward grading. Exam questions are based on lecture material only so if you show up to class and take good notes, you should do fine. And he is a very good lecturer so it's a win-win. I took it as an elective and decided to minor in psych thanks to him!
Dr. Prokosch was incredible! I genuinely enjoyed going to his classes and switched from biology to BNS because of him. He genuinely cares about his students. Grades are completely based on four take-home quizzes and three in person exams but there are bonus points on all of them and as long as you go to lecture it's pretty hard not to get an A.
I can say without question this was the best psychology course I have taken. The coursework is engaging, at times intensive in the early semester with lots of papers due weekly, but manageable. And I have to give a major shout-out to Mark - he is a wonderful, caring professor. This a highly recommended capstone course with a gem of a professor.
Best Professor I have had at Northeastern and I'm a third year Business major. Everything tested on is from lectures so show up! His lessons are interesting and include videos so it's not boring. Professor Prokosch is a very funny guy and very fair when it comes to grading. No homework, take home quizzes, and three exams that are noncumulative.
I am in this class now and felt compelled to post a quick rating. I once was an aspiring computer science major, but he changed my interest. I will now be taking psych classes with a focus on memory systems. If you are wavering on choosing a class where he is a professor, know that you are in good hands. Fair, interesting, and enthusiastic.
Professor Prokosch is the best! Intro to psych was a pretty boring class but he is hilarious and genuinely cares about his students. If you attend class, he gives out freebie questions that will be on the next exam and if you take notes and listen to what he says, then his exams are very easy. I would highly recommend his classes.
Absolutely love Professor Prokosch. Perfect balance between charismatic and incredibly intelligent -- lectures are engaging and relevant to the test material. He's a caring and passionate professor who really knows what he's talking about. Will be looking out for more classes taught by him!
Prof Prokosh was honestly such a an amazing professor I loved attending his lectures and he taught the material super super well. Its very lecture/note heavy so make sure to always take notes during lectures but he also has all the material on canvas. The exams are pretty standard but it does require a good amount of studying.
You get no homework, your only homework is to read the respected chapters (you don't really need them), all quizzes are open book/open note (worth 25% of grade), 3 exams including final exam ( only goes over everything after exam 2 and 75% of final grade).
loved this man. He mad class engaging and made me want to go. class was supposed to be 1.5 hours but he usually let us out early
He gives out one freebie for every class that you attend (by the time for the next exam you have 8-9 exam questions). Half of the exam questions come from the quizzes he posts so if you just knew the quizzes and the freebies you would get a 50% on the exam minimum. His lectures are entertaining and he tries to be personable with students.
Professor Prokosch made me fall in love with psychology. He made his lectures interesting and fun. But this class is very lecture heavy, i would recommend going to all classes so you dont miss out on anything, because the 3 exams are all based on the lecture only. The classes get kinda long, but hes a good lecturer and is also very understanding
Dr. Prokosch is excellent!! He is a very funny and engaging guy, which is great since the lectures are long and have a ton of content in them, including a lot of videos. There are only 3 exams (no cumulative final!) and 4 open-note quizzes, but he is very generous with giving out exam questions beforehand. Overall he's great and I would recommend!!
Amazing, he is so funny and engaging. I loved his class. The course is graded through tests and quizzes only (in-person on lockdown browser).
AMAZING!!! This is definitely a heavy course but this professor makes it so engaging and interesting. This class has greatly improved my confidence in public speaking and my writing! Take him if you have the chance!!!
I absolutely love him, He has a good personality and makes class fun, he has very easy exams, all multiple choice (lockdown browser, though), and he gives freebies after every class. gives extra credit (gave everyone a 100 on our quiz just cause) take. his. class. he was such a blessing
Professor Prokosch is hands down one of the best professors I've had. He is warm and charismatic and makes the class an enjoyable place to be. There are three exams (taken via lockdown browser) and four papers, in addition to class discussion. I highly recommend the class!
Please protect this man. He is a gem. This is my second time taking him, and he didn't disappoint. I learned a ton though social psychology is pretty intuitive. There were four exams and four papers. He grades very leniently, and exams are based on lectures. Pretty much every class he came to talk to me to see how I was doing. Protect this man.
Love this man. He's so funny and makes social psych so interesting to learn about. Genuinely learned a lot of applicable stuff from the class. Tests are pretty intuitive and easy to study for; he sometimes gives a free point or two. You don't need the textbook for the tests; just do the study guide and you're gold.
Mark helped me fall in love with psychology. He was enthusiastic and helped me stay attentive and really absorb the information presented during class. Take good notes and spend sufficient time studying, and the quizzes and tests are fair. I learned so much and was able to draw so many connections between the course material and my own life.
Hands down the best course I have taken at Northeastern. All coursework was difficult but intellectually stimulating. We wrote 7 papers, did a group presentation, had class participation (graded), and wrote a long research proposal. Mark gave great feedback and was a great lecturer. I recommend. Took during summer so may be different from regular.
I freaking love Mark. Take his class.
This man is my favorite professor ever. He is so funny and genuinely cares about each of his students. His quizzes and exams are all online and relatively easy if studied for, I wanna take every class he teaches in the future.
Such a king! He is so funny and really is engaging during his lectures. He makes class interesting with videos and he has many different ways to bring your grade up through the semester. He is flexible and understanding with deadlines and he is very easy to reach outside of class. TAKE MARK HES GREAT!!!
I'm a psych major and he reaffirmed that I'm in the right field. He's super laid back and his lectures are amazing. Oddly like listening to a documentary. He does use Lockdown browser and in-class exams, but his study guides are really helpful and he releases them early, and there is a final paper about psych disorders which is pretty fun and easy.
This professor is fantastic! you can tell that he actually loves teaching psych which makes his lectures much more interesting. i will say that this class is all memorization so if you struggle with that i might suggest something else.
Mark is goated. Best professor I have had at Northeastern, and this is my last class before graduation. Lots of papers, but grades leniently and gives helpful feedback to improve future papers. It's a good vibe in the classroom with a mix of lectures and presentations from students. Take social psych so you can take this seminar!
Best professor ever! Mark is extremely personable with students and wants everyone to do great. He is very accessible outside of class. His lectures are very entertaining and straight-forward. His exams are very fair. Graded by three exams and four open-book quizzes. Gave everyone a 100% on Quiz 4 just because. Very kind and would recommend.
actually goat- great personality and engaging lectures. exams are online and mcq, and a final essay. taking his classes again next sem- take if can
Mark was my favorite teacher last semester. He is hilarious and super nice. His exams are clear cut from the lectures so if you take good notes you are all set. The only assignments he gives are at home quizzes, one big paper due at the end of sem, and research participation. 3 big exams, the last one is the final and it is not cumulative!
Easy to do well in and class was extremely engaging. He gives study guides at the beginning of the unit, so study with those. He also gives free exams questions just for going to class and the online 'quizzes' basically are the same questions as the exam. Go to class (they're not recorded), use the study guide & quizzes and you'll get an A+
Literally the best professor ever. I had Mark last semester and he was phenomenal. He is a down to earth and funny guy and make even a boring lecture engaging. If you go to class and take basic notes you will pretty much be all set for tests. Quizzes are open note and you can use google. Taking another class with him next semester.
hes very funny and sweet. gives 4 or 5 lockdown browser exams. and a couple of take-home online quizzes.
Would take this class again if I could, you really only need to show up and study the slides that he gives you to pass the class or the final.
Amazing professor, made me so motivated about his course and the actual content was easy to pick up if you paid attention in class. Exams were all multiple choice and again, if you paid attention in class you'd be fine.
Dr. Prokosch is absolutely amazing. He gives free pointers on test and even gives you test answers classes before the exam. His quizzes are online and take home but you do have 3 exams on lockdown browser. A great guy with so much passion for Psychology.
Such a funny professor, genuinely looked forward to his lectures. Lectures may be long but he does not just read off of slides, there is in-class practice and interesting videos to switch things up. I'm not sure if he still does this, but when I took the class he would give a freebie answer to a future test question at the end of each lecture!
He's pretty funny and good lecturer imo. If you go to class and take notes you should do fine on exams, which are lockdown browser and in class. He also gives a couple freebies for the exams and has a couple take home quizzes. I'd take his class again in a heartbeat
Mark is the guy who has sat down with me to help me prepare for graduate school. He has guided me in becoming a more skilled and independent academic researcher. I feel incredibly fortunate to be in his class and benefit from his teachings. He is a fabulous teacher and a gem of a human being. Take classes with him, talk to him, let him be a light,
Prof. Prokosch is awesome. Only lectures but he makes them interesting, and lots of case studies & videos. Be aware not all information is on the slides. Quizzes are online and open note, exams are not but study guides are provided. 20% of the grade is basically a gimme, he also gives free points on tests and quizzes.
Really nice, chill prof- lectures are very clear and easy to follow, along with an overview of work/course load Good availability outside of class and always open to questions/discussions during class. Only slight downside is that (at least for psyc 1101) you were graded mainly on big exams.
He is a good professor. He gives 4 paper over the semester which are due at different times. You can start them whenever. He does not give good feedback at all. He copied the comments he wrote for me and said the exact same thing to my friend. He does not offer extra credit so do well on the exams. Just be mindful if you are willing to do that.
Here's the bottom line: everybody here at Northeastern looking for a psychology elective knows to take Professor Prokosch, and everyone who needs to do their capstone course in psych knows to try to get in one of his seminars. Ask anyone in the know - he is goated.
Professor Prokosch is the absolute best professor I have EVER had at Northeastern. He is incredibly personable and the best ‘dad figure' you could have for a college class. I felt incredibly safe coming to class - he is so nice and encouraging. He is pretty lenient in his grading too. I would literally pay to take a class with him again.
Prof Prokosch was hands down the best professor I've had at NU so far! Attendance isn't mandatory, but I enjoyed going to the class. The quiz and exam questions, for the most part, are right there on the slides. Reading the textbook could help but it's not required to do well in the class! He often lets class out early and cracks jokes in the class
The BEST PROFESSOR EVER. Lecture based so you don't have to buy the textbook, but seriously lecture based. Every question was from lecture, and he would even sprinkle jokes he made during class onto the exam. Super helpful and was the most accommodating person I've ever met. The only reason I loved the class was because of his teaching style 10/10
Great guy. Classic Dad figure and you can tell he wants his students to succeed. Exams are easy if you use his study guides, which are very clear.
Cool guy, I enjoyed attending his lectures even though they aren't mandatory. Very clear grading criteria and straightforward tests
Professor Prokosch is an amazing professor! The class is pretty easy and all the lecture slides are posted in advance. He gives more information in class that will be on exams but attendance is not taken directly. No homework and the exams are all multiple choice.
I was skeptical of his ratings but he's deserving. I learned more than expected and enjoyed being in class. Good notes are key, as in-class exams are most of the grade. He's solid across the board and one of my favorite professors. Bottom line: Professor Prokosch should teach a class on how to teach.
His passion is very clear when he's lecturing, which makes lectures so engaging. There's no homework, but you have all semester to get 5 psych study credits and a long paper. He's a super nice guy and approachable if you have any questions. I truly enjoyed attending this class.
Professor Prokosch is the best professor I've had at this school. I never wanted to miss a lecture because they were genuinely so interesting. I loved learning and engaging with the course material. I could not recommend a better teacher for this course!
His lectures were not mandatory but he gave you extra information about the tests in the lectures and they were very interesting. He was always chatting it up before class and just such a nice guy. Take him if you can!
Professor Prokosch was the best. I emailed him a dozen times during the semester, and he replied within 20 minutes every time. Lectures were entertaining, exams were fair, in-class work was actually enjoyable, quizzes were basically free (open note), and the paper was easy, given his example paper. Take him. Best professor I have taken by far.
Did not enjoy this class—way too much work than required, and Prokosch can be unnecessarily harsh
legit goat - lots of reading. lots of writing. totally worth it. Finally felt confident as a student and a writer thanks to him. I would highly recommend this class and prof. prokosch. He was also nice enough to write a letter of rec for me for grad school, so maybe I'm biased, but I asked him for a reason.
Hard tests. But very very nice person
Professor will often let you out early. Lectures all had bonus freebie questions that were on the test, so go to class to get free points! Prokosch was a caring and understanding guy and his lectures were usually pretty interesting/entertaining. Fun class to take if you have an interest in psych, though tests are a lot of memorization.
