Great teacher, unorthodox style of teaching that really works.

Reading is minimal, had one midterm paper and one final paper each around 8 pages. Didn't see one power point. Unorthodox style of teaching which works great! He's very funny! Take him!

His textbook was a giant comic book. A typical week: read 1-2 chapters and answer 2-4 questions about the chapters in detail. So easy. I did all of my assignments an hour before they were due, and I had fun doing them.

Wonderfully hot and informative. The RP system is so encouraging.

Very good professor. Promotes discussion and challenges previously held beliefs. The looser structure of the class allowed people to freely express themselves and explore topics in a group setting. Very valuable to opening and listening to new perspectives.

He looks and talks like a student but he isn't, he can relate to our ages though because he is young. Cool teacher and fun class, nice to look at too.

If you go to class and participate, you will get an A. There is no homework. If you put the effort in, its an easy A. No tests, no papers,no quizzes. He uses a very interesting method for grading. If you're looking to take a fun and interesting class, I strongly recommend taking this class with Mark! YOU WON'T REGRET IT!

Reinholz is a very good conversation leader and provokes flow of thought from students in new ways! He has a cool system set up that you can level up to a certain place to get an A by participating in class. He's great because you're not REQUIRED to go to class, but you want to because the class is so fun and interesting. I took his class on atheism and I'm really glad I did. You'll want to take a class with him if you can!

Mark is an amazing teacher. He is very knowledgeable about Philosophy and shapes discussions based on what the students want to discuss. He is very fluid but makes sure to provide to you all the information that you will need to make sound and reasonable arguments. Definitely recommend!

There are the professors you cant wait to forget after the semester is over, and then completely opposite of that there is Professor Reinholz, a professor you will probably never forget. His class and the subject matter are actually applicable to everyday life making his class both enjoyable and interesting to attend.

This class was very interesting. We were not required to go to class but I always wanted to due to the interesting subjects we discussed in class. He was very encouraging and made sure we passed his class. I would absolutely recommend this class to anyone who was considering taking it.

Class set up is very interesting and even fun. If you show up and participate, you will be fine. Reinholz is an opinionated, funny and interesting teacher who will definitely make you think.

It's refreshing when you get a professor like Mark who is outspoken enough to give you a different perspective on something but also has the skill to present it in a way that he's not stuffing his own beliefs down your throat. If you like your professors to use appropriate language only, Mark might not be for you but he's a great professor anyway.

I took this course simply because I needed more Liberal Arts Core credits, but as of now I've signed up for two more classes with this professor for next semester. Fantastic teacher. I only wish participation wasn't such an integral part of the course. It's a bit difficult to earn RP if you have social anxiety.

This was a really interesting class. I liked the fact that it was always a class discussion and no tests. The RP system was a cool way to keep students motivated and participating.

TAKE HIS CLASS! You are kind of screwed if you don't like open class discussion though. All you do is sit down and discuss about topics for hours. So if you are not really a public communicator and like to share opinions, you might feel a little uncomfortable. You can either earn points by talking in class or doing journal entries

This class is extremely fun and creative. It's not like a normal college class, and he really values your ideas and participation. All you have to do is go to class everyday to receive the grade you want. It's that easy.

Fun topics, no exams or quizzes, just show up to class and speak once and you will do great! He always had a topic to bring up and let us steer the conversations into the direction we want. Awesome!

This professor is really easy going! This class is ALL discussion. But he has options for you, which is great! If you're not a talker, don't worry you can still do very well in this class. If you are a talker, you will LOVE this class. Be prepared to discuss some touchy subjects though!!

Mark is adorable, lets us discuss what we want, and gives us a way to earn our grade without tests! If you aren't comfortable talking in class, that's okay, because all you have to do to earn some of your daily points is write a journal entry on his topic! Super easy!

He is real and chill. Different way of grading: it is like a board game style. You have 4 ways to get a final grade. Choose your path wisely!

This is the most exciting class that I have had in my college career. I love the way that the class is set up because it allows everyone to learn in their own way. Esquire Reinholz (yes, that's his title) is by far the coolest professor I've had in college. He's funny, extremely knowledgeable in epistemology, and batty enough to make class exciting and engaging. He curses quite a bit, and the class is very open-ended, so just a head's up. Otherwise, I cannot recommend Mark enough.

By far this is the best professor ever. I love this class because its easy going. Most of our classes are discussion on basically anything related to philosophy and I feel like I have learned way more in his class than any other. I will most definitely take more of his classes just because he is a great professor.

He is a professor you can learn a lot from. He cusses quite a bit but it helps you be tolerant and the class is open minded, making it easy to have any conversation.

If you go to class its an easy grade if you don't you might have to write a 30 page paper but its all up to the student to decide. I loved his class when we weren't talking about religion.

Easy A packaged with some high intensity k-bombs. Be prepared for a "modern" approach to an ancient study that you likely won't find elsewhere. Brush up on your knowledge of wizardry and the arcane to better prepare for your "dabbling" in "skepticism".

Seriously Philosophy cold not get any more interesting. i am glad i was part of this class if you focus, participate and come to class everyday you can easily get an A. I highly recommend this class with Mark Reinholz he's a great professor that makes every class interesting and different, you won't regret it.

This class RULED. I only took it to fill LACs, but I'm so glad I did. Mark is incredible. This class is engaging and worthwhile - just be sure to keep track of RP and do ANY gimmes he throws at you! Be sure to either talk or journal - if you don't slack, you're golden.

This class was overall really easy and fun! As long as you don't slack off and you participate in class discussion you should be able to do well without any problem. He is great at talking about things that we are actually interested in learning about with minimal to no outside of class work!

Reinhola was very knowledgeable about the subject matter and really encouraged students to challenge their ideas on ethics. Although young, he seems to be very accomplished in past profession and a excellent educator. He ran the course with good intent pushing his students to converse and gain a better perspective on the subject.

Great professor and class which opens up your mind to multiple religions, not just Christianity. Grading system is like an RPG so you level up, and while attendance isn't mandatory, showing up gets you points. Class is purely discussion based, with participation getting you some more points. Guaranteed A or B if you try, but easy fail if you don't.

I was never into philosophy until I got into this class! It is very interesting and fun! Attendance is not mandatory but in order to pass showing up to class will get you that A or B! No quizzes No homework No papers No exams!!!! Need I say more?

Mark is an awesome guy with really great teaching strategies. Whether it's an online class or in a classroom, every piece of content incorporated is interesting! Attendance isn't mandatory, but he teaches classes that you'll actually WANT to go to. He's down-to-earth and puts a fun twist to assignments.

Mark is an interesting professor and I truly enjoyed every day in his class. My only complaint is that his unique point system encouraged students to speak often when they had nothing valuable to add. Also, refusal to join in the point system results in a 30 page final paper while others get an A for showing up and regurgitating useless comments.

Mark is a great teacher. He will challenge you to think about things in a way you haven't before. He uses a point system so if you show up and participate you'll get an A. His discussion are sometime interesting. Generally this is a fun and super easy class.

Mark is very sharp, and he is the sort of philosopher who will always bring out the other side of what is being discussed. He has a penchant for cynicism, and he loves to bring in religion. His RP system is interesting, it certainly motivates class participation. I sometimes wished he would lead the discussion and teach us more about the text.

Prof. Rainholz is great at challenging your views and encouraging you to think broadly. He also makes the class a lot of fun.

The class is easy, but do not be fooled into thinking you won't learn anything. I found myself doing a lot of soul searching, tons of family instigated arguments too! Fun class, even the reading actually matters to you as an individual

Overall, I enjoyed the class very much and the discussions we had. The way Mark has made this class work is not only easy, but still makes us learn in ways that make us think on deeper levels out of our own comfort zone. The one problem I had with this teacher is being able to present. Note to future students-remind him constantly or he'll forget.

I originally signed up for the class on campus, but I did not like the way he had his point system set up. It requires you to participate in daily discussions and is very complicated to keep up with your own points. It is set up like a video game. The online class is great and easy. It will not require a lot of time like other online classes.

LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! One of the best classes I have taken and it's a lot of fun! The first text book I've actually read in its entirety and enjoyed! He doesn't give quizzes in the online class. Just a lot of reading and weekly journals with 6 application assignments throughout the semester. The assignments are easy as long as you are able to relate.

This was easily one of the best classes I have had for this semester! Mark was amazing and hilarious and this class was tons of fun. I loved the way he ran the course and graded. Definitely going to class and participating helps your grade! but it's easy to sit through and participate in.

You have to read a lot but the textbook is written in comic book style, so it's an easy read. Also he wrote the textbook too so it pertains to class. Easy class as long as you show up. Fun Fact: you can level up in his class.

Mark's grading system is different than most but I think it is great! Even though we had no homework or tests, it is impossible to get a good grade if you don't show up for class, this gave us the motivation to show up. He is one of the best professors I have had in my three years at UNC!

He's a very laid back teacher who also really encourages different perspectives. Although he may go off on different tangents when someone brings input that may or may not be clear. It's not really a positive or negative critique. It's just something I've noticed.

Philosophy 100 with professor Reinholz was by far my favorite class this semester. He cusses like a sailor and is blunt and honest, but those traits are very relatable and fun to be a part of. His abundant knowledge and classroom methods are genius and more fun than ever. Absolutely choose Mark or miss out on a great semester!

I didn't take a single test in his class but I still learned a ton. He's very straightforward with his grading criteria and if you participate you shouldn't have to write any papers or take any tests. What you put into the class is what you get out. Mr Reinholz is a very intelligent man. Don't get too intimidated by his mohawk on the first day.

Very cool teacher fr an LAC course. Best taken while you have a lot of harder classes, because there virtually no work ever besides the end of term paper. He uses and RP system (youll find out what that means) and use it as much as you can. If you stay on top of it you can get away with an automatic A and no paper!

His book was the first and probably only textbook I will ever read in college! There were incredible life lessons to draw from this class that were applicable to my current life.

Coolest, hottest, most intellectual professor. Though it's not a very structured class, if you actually come and participate, it's basically impossible to get anything but an A. He's super honest and up front about his views and will respect, but also challenge, yours. Would recommend to anyone, especially those that like to discuss!

Wrote his own Philosophy book, and it conveys complex topics in a way that anyone will enjoy reading it. I wish I was able to take this class in person, but it was my favorite online class by far. His feedback to papers was great and his class gave me a means for inflection. It really solidifies logical thinking and I would take it again for fun!

He is by far one of my favorite professors, very enthusiastic and involved in class. Show up and you pass, learn life lessons and you will leave with more questions than you started the class with. This class opens up your mind and well worth the time and credit.

Took Intro to Legal Reasoning back in 2013 and I still can't get over how amazing his class was as it was by far my favorite and most memorable one yet. Super dynamic and will challenge you. You can tell he really cares about his student's opinions. You'll never want to miss a class. TAKE IT.

I absolutely love Professor Reinholz! I took Philosophy 100 for an online summer course and really enjoyed it. If he taught another Philosophy class then I would definitely sign up for it. If you do every paper and put in the work that you are suppose to then you'll do just fine. Take Reinholz, and I promise you won't regret it :)

If you can take a class with Mark, I highly encourage it. He treats all his students with the utmost respect and care, and fosters a great environment for open and engaging discussion. His class was a breath of unstructured, relaxing fresh air among my other LAC's. His intellect and sense of humor is also ridiculously attractive.

Is extremely laidback. Grades on an XP gaming system that is easy to get an A. Class discussion is regular with no assignments. Purely participation based. Highly recommend. Full of energy and makes class interesting

One of the best professors I've had at UNC. He's hilarious and makes you think outside of the box. You get XP for attendance each day and occasional side quests, so go to class. Textbook is a comic book he wrote, and the quizzes are easy as long as you read and come to class. Easy A as long as you show up and do your work. Final paper is fun!

Super funny, super nice. Willing to challenge you. No exams, just quizzes on the reading.

Reinholz was very, very entertaining and funny. He cusses a lot and is brutally honest. Class was always stimulating and worthwhile! He includes good movies, topics, and readings. My only complaint is that he makes you buy the VERY EXPENSIVE textbooks that HE WROTE and you need them for quizzes.

This class was the best class I've ever had. He made it engaging and fun, and went into super deep topics but explained them very carefully and made sure that everyone understood the subject matter. He addresses the questions that most people wonder about just in daily life. I recommend this class to everyone.

Their basic logic class is one of the easiest online courses I've taken. It's not heavy at all and he doesn't grade hard either. There are discussion posts that are big chunks of your final grade but you can write 1-2 and it's self graded so you can give yourself full points. Final project is easy as well it's a 30day challenge that's uploaded.

Very fun class to take! Would definitely suggest as an LAC. Most of the online assignments involve videos and then you respond to them with comments or answering a couple questions. The deadlines are reasonable. There are a couple larger assignments, but nothing too bad. There was a video you needed to make and a final paper about your progress.

This was one of the better LAC's I have taken. It was pretty interesting and his handwritten textbook was definitely entertaining and informative. The work is pretty simple, though can be time-consuming at times. Final project was pretty straight forward and overall would definitely recommend Mark as a professor as he is very cool!

This class was an easy 100% and I feel like I got a lot out of it. The professor is also very caring and understanding of us as college students. I remember them saying at the beginning of the semester that they wouldn't be having us purchase a textbook or any additional materials for the course because they get how tough it already is for us.

mark is one of my favorite professors at unco! mark really cares about his students education and puts a lot of effort into the content. although there are 3-4 assignments each week, they are really easy and would take me an hour or two to finish all 3-4 assignments

Mark is truly one of the best professors I've ever had. They present awesome material in a way that makes it manageable for a full schedule. GLA assignments are easy to do and are very thought-provoking. Grading was easy and as long as you do the work, you will get an A. They are truly amazing at what they do!!

Mark truly loves what he does and makes topics engaging and interesting when they would otherwise be boring. He wrote the "textbook" which is in youtube comic book format. 2 assignments and 1 discussion post a week, 1 project, 1 paper, and 5 quizzes. Maybe spent two hours a week on this course. You'll get out of it what you put in. 10/10.

This class was fun, easy, and enlightening. I've taken some other philosophy courses at UNC, this was by far the most enjoyable. There were only 4 types of assignments: GLAs, discussions, section quizzes, and the final essay. The class will give you what you put into it. You'll be talking about controversial topics, so try and keep an open mind!

This online PHIL221 course was a great LAC option. The assignments were straightforward, including discussions, quizzes, and a final project. The professor's handwritten textbook was engaging. I found unstuckstudy to be a helpful study tool alongside the course materials. Overall, a solid and enjoyable class.

This class was a walk in the park all you have to do is participate in the class you'd be better off taking this class online. He is super understanding just make sure you complete the GLA's and Quizzes the final paper I got a 100% on just be truthful about your expierences.

I LOVE This professor. He's very kind and understanding. His lectures are very entertaining and he honestly makes you focus more on yourself than on society as a whole, which I really liked. I would love to take another class taught by him. His quizzes are easy as long as you do the work!
