Wonderful professor that has a great method of running the course. Well organized and great lecturer. As for his exams and quizzes, farily hard but you learn the material, no joke.
His lectures are boring. Attending class is essentially pointless, since he gives out the hard copy to his power point presentations. I rarely came to class, yet managed an A.
This is the most boring lecturer ever. No need to go to class, you are better off reading the book instead, that way you avoid the bad jokes, and waste of time. His exams are ambiguous and poorly written. Easy class though.
Cool guy. Drops lowest test score out of 6 tests. Tests are a bit difficult if you don't read the text. Only 1 assigned paper throughout the whole course. Decent instructor.
Gives interesting lectures ,and is very forgiving. Drops your lowest quiz score, which helps a lot, and gives extra credit assignment worth 15 points, quizzes are only worth 20. Easy assignment, if you do the 2 page paper, you get full credit.
Test questions thrown in from nowhere, goes in different direction when teaching, looses subject.
Friendly and personable. Keeps lectures very interesting, and allows for extra credit. READ THE BOOK if you want to get an A on his tests, since there are a lot of very specific questions based off the text.
Great teacher! Explains material thoroughly, good lectures. If you read the book and go to class it's impossible to not get an A for the course.
great teacher, good man. his test questions are not thrown in randomly, 80% of questions are talked about in class, then the other 20% are basic concepts from the book. it is his way of weeding out the lazy, if you dont care you will get a b, if hard an a
Talks about his family too much, test questions not clear on tests. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS CLASS!!!!! VERY HARD, VERY STRICT!!!
Awesome prof!!has study guide ques, lect interesting, you can follow your performance throughout the semester on-line,very helpful website,do the EC and the assigned paper, show up to class, take all quizzes and exams. I highly recommend this professor.I took a summer sess. and got a high B!
Closed-minded CONSERVATIVE who cannot fathom anyone having a viewpoint which opposes his. Blabs on about his family in a hypocritical manner. Read the book and try not to listen to a word he says; he'll only complicate interesting material. Can't stick to set schedule. Rambles on: BORING!!!!!!!!!
AWESOME TEACHER!! Nice, funny, gives good examples. easy to apply to real life. clear, tests are reasonable, quizzes easy. Relevant class, great teacher. Dont listen to the bad comments, this is a great class!!!
One of the best teachers ive ever had. He is very intelligent and able to communicate the material in a straightforward manner with a side of humor. He actually made me look forward to coming to class.
he is a great teacher! His test are easy if you study. I really enjoyed going to his class every week. I would recommend him to anyone.

Intersting teacher, very inteligent. Yes I agree with lot others he has examples from his family a lot but that's what they need to give from real life from his own expereince so we can understand better. However, the clarity of his lectures very kind of... Easy subjects maid kind of cloudy and hard
He is really funny and personal. If you follow the study guide you can pass his tests with flying colors. Class lectures are posted on his web site. Very Helpful.
EASY CLASS! GREAT TEACHER! DO THE READING!
Fun Personality. Requires some studying.
He is my favorite psychology professor. He always offered interesting examples to help people better understand the material. There was never a time when I was bored in this class. Stewart has a great teaching style and you'll be surprised at how much you get out of this class.
Very nice teacher who offers a lot of help. If you skim the book, and go to lectures, you should earn an A. There is one essay, and no cumulative final. A very interesting class(although I am a psyc major so I might be biased).
This teacher is big on supporting psychology scientifically which makes the psychological concepts more tangible. He also has a great personality making class enjoyable to attend. A very fun class, and a very fun teacher.
He's got the credentials, he's got the brains, he's basically got it all. everyone take his class because you'll learn so much without even trying. i think it's easy but i have the highest grade right now and i'm a psych major so maybe it's just me. he's such a smart guy though, you'll love him
He's awesome. He's very smart and the class is fun. Gives lots of Extra Credit.
Dr. Stewart is undoubtedly one of the best instructors I've ever had. He's got a fantastic sense of humor and his discussions are interesting. Just make sure to do the reading because a lot of the textbook content is in his tests.
I thought Stewart was a fabulous teacher. Sometimes the lectures got a little dull, but his sense of humour always kept my attention. He is very easy-going and personable.
Took him for Soc Psyc and General Psyc. Really fun and easy teacher. Most of the questions on his quizes are from the text so make sure to read the text BEFORE the lecture. would take him again
Excellent understanding and examples used in the class. Recommended that you use the studyguide online, it will make a dramatic difference on the test. Very understandable and helpful, a must take!
i absolutely love his class. :)

Read the footnotes too. He is a true College Professor.
very cool teacher....make sure to mention blueberry muffins

Dr. Stewart rules. His class is so interesting, and it's practically impossible to fail. He's really cool and aloof and fun. Take any of his classes, you'll have fun.

Stewart is a great teacher. Sometimes he lacks tact, but it makes the class interesting. Definately do the reading... the book isn't so bad. If you need help, just ask him. He's more than willing to accomodate.

INTERESTING INTERESTING INTERESTING!
overall he's a good guy. His lecture are kindof boring, but sometimes he could be pretty boring. Doesn't give out homework, except there's about 4 test, and one paper. It's not hard as along you study and do your work. I recommend this class to anyone.
He is really nice and helpful. He is one of the best teachers on campus.
Man, Marky Mark? Yes he seems to be just any another button up white middle aged man. But, hes a great guy. Teaching is fun, topics can get boring with his powerpoint sometimes. Though, he is always willing to go on tangents for a little while. Goodtimes in Honors, No HW, only tests on the chapter which he tells you what "could possibly be on them"
easily understandable
at the end of the semester he still doesn't know anyone's name. he will help you if you approach him. his tests are pretty hards and wordy. there is a paper and an extra credit paper as well. his lectures are pretty interesting but a bit boring. he explains his topics well and is prompt about returning tests and going over the material.
I took Mark for psych 300 and 320. He has been my favorite prof so far. He's really intelligent. Class is easy because there is a huge curve and a 30 pt. extra credit paper. No HW. Five tests and a paper.
I didn't like this professor, he had a very **** kind of attitude. He wasn't mean or anything, he was nice if you approached him, but he's not a very exciting teacher.
good temper
His class was great and he was easy to understand. He also has a website with study qeustions for the test. I wasn't at class half the time and still managed to pull off a good grade. There is no homework and he is a easy grader on the one paper you have to do. I turned my in late and i still got an A on it. I would recommend him for you GE psych.
It was a small class so the discussions could become interesting. The exams were essay tests. They became tedious and time consuming. Aside from the tests it was informative and even fun. Thinking about it, the essay tests are probably easier to get better grades on, rather than multiple choice tests.
I wouldn't take him again. For those who are stuck with him, do the paper really good and all the extra credit. It helps.
no homework! keep up with the reading and the class isn't very hard, there's nothing on the tests that aren't in the book. Class discussions were interesting and the online site is helpful if you miss a session. Make sure to do the paper 'cause it weighs heavy with your overall grade!
Really good professor. He's a nice guy, just a bit introverted. :) Yes, lectures can get dull sometimes, but he often perks them up with humor and personal examples, and there's a lot of good class discussion. Pay attention and make sure you really understand the concepts, and you'll do great on tests, especially since there's a major curve.
so, if you want to HAVE to read every chapter in the book take this teacher!!!!! he is very unclear when it comes to studying for the tests. he may say one thing, which you will remember, but he wants you to know what the book says, not him. very irritating!!!!! he also comes across somewhat cocky in his teaching style!!!!!
Nice teacher.
THE most boring teacher. He just rambles on during lectures and is very unclear. Do the paper and the two-minute essays and read the book. You don't even really have to pay attention to him.
He was a bit boring but that is because i was not interested in the subject. All I can say is don't miss out on his lectures or you will be behind. I never studied for his exams or read the book, i just listened to his lectures and got an A. :)'
A very good psyc professor. As long as you attend class, you'll do fine. There is only one paper to write the whole semester, and an optional Extra Credit paper. Not the most interesting lectures, but not by any means boring. He can relate the concepts to his own life or life in general, and is very personable and non-aggressive.
very organized, go to his website and download his powerpoint slides (without pictures) then use them as the starting point for your notes, I found him interesting. If your bored ask questions. Not easy. You have to work for your A. Should: read book, show up(on time), review notes, and do the one paper.
Make Psychology sound so boring. Dosent really teach the class but makes you look at his Powerpoint presentation. He's Alright.
Can be a bit boring, but it's a hard to fail, easy to pass class. You don't really have to read the book, just show up and do all the two min essays and the papers, and you'll definitely pass.
His website has lecture outline and chapter study questions. Go to class, fill in outline, and answer study questions and you will pass with a B, no problem. You also need to do all 2 minute essays. They are only 10 points but add up at the end of semester. One required paper-not difficult. Extra credit as well. Definitely recommend!!
I think he is a good instructor and recommend him to every single person who wants to learn about psychology. If you want an A you have to put extra efforts for it.Other than that he knows his stuff, helpfull and a nice guy.
EASYGOING, PROFESSIONAL, UNDERSTANDS YOUR CONCERNS AND WILL GLADLY HELP YOU OUT WHEN YOU NEED IT.
If anything he is too nice and too easy. I like his style of teaching, and he is real professional. He supliments his lecture with the text, which sucks for me because I hate buying books. If you are lazy you will not do well. Show up everyday, because attendance counts for about 1/5 of your grade. He knows the subject well and enjoys teaching
its hard but easy at the same time.
I think people are being too hard on Stewart. If you're looking to get a **** A take someone else. If you're not worried about EARNING a decent grade... why are you in college? Stewart's lectures are informative and his tests serve their purpose, to make sure you know your stuff. Take him, you'll learn a lot.
He is a good teacher. His lectures are clear. Just one essay and reading the book. DO NOT need to buy the study guide. As long as you read the chapters and go to the lectures you will do fine. My only complaint is that you have to read every word of all the chaptersfor the test because he doesn't give enough detail about what the test will cover.
Kind of a hard class. (You most positively will not need the study guide). Tests are a bit hard. Material from lecture AND BOOK is tested. I would try for an easier teacher if I had it to do over again. =/
Take this guy for psyc 300 he is fun and the class is very interesting.i was in a very fun class he gives all exams from the text book and class notes.plenty of videos and anecdotes.you will have fun!great prof!
I really like him and althought others in the past have not found the class intresting i find it very intresting, 2 min essays are important it could be the difference between an A an B so come to class!! read the book as well most of the test are stuff not even talked about in class. over all i find him to be intresting and most days funny.
Not an easy A. In fact, you most likely will not get an A at all. I was one of three people in the class to earn one. Do the extra credit, its easy. Go to class, 2 min. essays are big part of grade. 1 research paper, not too hard. 4 mult choice exams. Print lecture outlines offinternet. Makes notetaking very easy, use the book!
Mark Stewart is an awesome teacher. My first college class and i loved it. I got a B in the class. Make sure you come to class, he gives easy points for "2 min. essays." He is funny and easy going. I bought the study guide and didnt use it, its a waste. just make sure you read the book and study. Most of it is really interesting, easy to remember.
stewart is a really good teacher, but is a very hard grader. he curves on every test and test are hard, but multiple choice. he is not stict on attendance, actually he will not even notice if you are there or not. but dont miss any classes cause he gives out so much info in class. it is a very over crowded class, good teacher though.
Professor Stewart was really easy to understand. The first day i thought to myself "oh great a boring psych teacher this is going to be hard" but he grew on me and was not boring at all. Just make sure you take all lecture notes and READ THE CHAPTERS HE ASSIGNS!
Professor Stewart is really nice and funny. If you're interested in getting you know yourself and specifics about personality, then you should take this course. Attendance is not taken daily, but he does assign two minute essays at the end of some classes to give participation points. Each essay is worth 5pts and do add up. Study for tests.
Come to class, do the paper and the extra credit and you'll probably get an A.
EASY A!!!. MR. STEWART IS UNDERSTANDING, AND VERY HELPFUL. NO HOMEWORK. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT ASSIGNMENT. ITS AN EASY 30 PTS. HE DOESN'T EVEN GRADE IT, JUST CHECKS TO SEE IF YOU HAVE IT DONE....HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!
Very solid 300 class. Lectures are clear and concise. He is very approachable. Go to class everyday, as he gives extra points for attendance, though it is not mandatory. His tests are all multi, and on a curve. Know the concept of all material and you should get an A, as I did.
Mark is a very good psych proffessor, his class is easy as long as you attend all classes and take good note and study for the test, you garantee an A, no home work at all, just 5 tests one paper and 1 extra credit 2 pg paper :) I really liked his class i learned a lot, very interesting, also easy 75 points of class work
Best teacher ever. Funny story, after i got in A in his class, i was surprised b/c my paper was 2 weeks late. I saw him at a best buy a month or so later and talked to him for a bit then exclaimed, 'I got an A really?'and he said, 'yeah i was surprised to but it worked out'. lol
It was an ok class. When he speaks, he starts out loud so the whole class can hear him and after a while his voice becomes more faint. It's frustrating when you're trying to take notes. Definately read the book and show up to class. Two minute essays are importand and DO THE EXTRA CREDIT PAPER!!! His tests are difficult. Just study.
Love this prof.!!! I've had him for Gen. Psych and Social Psych. Interesting lec., multipul choice tests, extra crd., very intelligent, and friendly. Show up to class because he tests on lecture and you get extra crd. pts for the 2 min essays. TAKE HIM! :)
BEST TEACHER!!! WOULD TAKE HIM AGAIN. BARELY ANYTHING TO DO. 5 TESTS,1 PAPER,2 MIN ESSAYS, AND EXTRA CREDIT. ABSOULUTLY NO HW!!! LOVED HIM(EVEN THOUGH I GOT A C+). ~TM
All the other posts are very accurate. Nice guy, hard tests, even though they're multiple choice. He wants you to understand the concepts, not just memorize the definitions of things. If you read the book in prep for tests you'll do good. DO the extra credit paper. It's easy. Only 2 pages, which is nothing after doing to the 5 page paper youll do
A very good teacher and I recommend him. Exams are somewhat hard and really need to have a very high comprehensin of the material. Follow the study guide, read and really understand. Very fair and straightforward with grading. Not too much on extra credit, just one.
Adorable personality. Loved his class, and he loves teaching it. You will laugh, learn a lot about yourself and your weird family...haaa, and feel comfortable talking in the class as he never ridicules anyone in class. Really nice guy. I got an A!!
Strong credential. He mess with your head; all in good fun. You better know your material; if not well, pretend. He'll teach you to study smart, not hard. You'll get a lot out of his class. I need his class for graduation and transfer and I'm a better person for it. T.P. San Jose.
Put serious issues into perspective. Very articulate and makes sense! Very interesting class.
Really nice guy, explained things to the point, but had subtle humorous references incorporated throughout. So far I have an easy A. I would definitely recommend this one
Loved him!
this dude was very nice about turning in late stuff, or your 2 minute essays you would take instead of role call. i wrote one for my friend who left class one day early, and he questioned him and was fine with it.
Good teacher, makes you think even when you don't want to. If you put in the work and try on every test and show up to class you should get an A.
He was pretty nice. He emphasized the main points of what he wanted us to know and tried to explain things in very relatable ideas. His test are hard but he grades on a curve so it is not hard to pass the class.
Good teacher tests are hard but if you truly study the material you will do good. I never really talk to him but saw him walking in the hall a he called my name and said Hi. So up every day to class and you should get an A.
His lectures were fun to listen to, his stories help give a very clear understanding of the material. However, a lot of his test questions are from the text and I found hid tests very hard, even though he grades them on a curve if needed.
He is a great professor. I really enjoyed this class. Never made class boring. Use his study guides in order to know what to read in the book for the tests.
Great professor. makes lectures interesting. tests are kind of hard so you need to pay attention and study. loved his stories, makes it easier to understand the information.
Print out the lecture outline he has online & use them to take notes in class. If you ask him he will explain anything to you after class.
wonderful teacher! just listen in class and do the reading, study it, and you'll be fine. SO NICE because there's no homework. only exams, and one writing assignment =) love his class
Pretty easy class with a pretty good teacher. It was worth the $26 a unit and filled a lovely GE requirement. I would advise the class to anyone looking to get a GE out of the way or if it's their major.
Tests are very hard, graded on HUGE curve. Go to class! You will need 2 min essay pts. Use his study questions and lecture outlines. I am 4.0 student and I spend over 5 hrs a week studying for this 3 unit class. Hardly an intro class. Nice guy, interesting lectures but he does not cover all material. You must read the book and filter info.
Great teacher! Knows his stuff. I'm taking him again next semester for Psych 320. I would highly recommend him to anyone. The tests are hard so make sure to take notes, read the book and study. Also make sure to start your term paper asap. Look at the sample papers to know what you need to do because he is specific in what he wants. Great teacher!!
Extremely simple class. Attend every class and read (a majority at least) and you'll do fairly well. No homework or final, only 4 tests. Keeps class interesting. Took him twice, picks good texts too.
Very nice and interesting teacher! I never even got the book and i am fine. Tests are mostly based on lecture. Watched a couple videos. He doesn't take roll (what he has is 2 min essays once in a while as roll) I would recommend him to anyone
Instructor is great. Tests are a bit tough never know what question he will come up with, from book material or lecture. I suggest record all lectures, loves to ask questions like, what did I not cover in class? READ the BOOK, he pulls alot of questions from it. The research project sounds tough, but stay it is fun and not that difficult.
Clear lectures, uses stories to make it fun. Easy A's on test as long as you prepare using his study guides. Be able to answer and understand every question on the study guides. Generally about 6-10 questions/chapter. I studied about 3 hours/ch. and got an A in the class w/o extra credit paper. Book is CRUCIAL. Great prof! Very nice!
He is a great professor, but his tests are really hard. Take advantage of all the study guides that he provides, do the reading, and print out the lecture notes the day before class and you will do great. The extra credit is worth it, that's what brought my grade up to a B.
***Best professor award!*** Absolutely loved the class, lectures are engaging, he really cares about the subject, and tests are fair. I was a bit worried about the research project, but he's very realistic and will help every step of the way. Take this class, you'll be glad you did.
i really enjoyed his class, his lectures are NOT boring! you acutally learn stuff and if you are majoring in psychology i suggest you take this class. its worth it. his stories are funny and educational at the same time and all the movie clips we watched were interesting.
This was a very interesting class. The only homework in this class is a research paper that is due before Thanksgiving break. However, I recommend doing all the study guides and reading the textbook religiously. It makes a big difference when you're taking the exams. Professor Stewart is also halarious. He makes getting up early worth it.
Love this class! So much fun. He has definitely helped my decision in becoming a psychology major. I recommend going to all the classes so you don't miss any of the random 2min essays. They can help your grade. There's no homework except for your research paper due. He also offers extra credit. Read the text book and study questions for the test.
AWESOME! Do the xtra credit, makes a difference in your grade. If you are a logical thinker- tests are EASY! Interesting class & I got an A, what else is better? :)
I took his hybrid class, and although our class only met once a week, I really enjoyed his class. He gives extra credit opportunities at the end of the semester, but if you just keep up with the online work, and do decent on the tests, you will pass. I would definately recommend taking his class.
proffesor stewart ROCKS!! he makes the class really fun and interesting. he's more than fair on tests and gives you a chance to get some extra credit.
Lectures were really interesting and fun. Grades on a curve so getting an "A" is even easier. Provides lecture outlines for easier note taking and study questions for tests (use them!). Makes the subject even more interesting.
Stwart rocks! Funny, makes class intresting. He gives out study questions on his web site that are VERY helpful for histeat, USE THEM, you will pass your test.
I honestly don't know what else to add about Stewart :) I think everything has been said already lol This teacher is REALLY cool and easygoing! I highly recommend him!! He's the BEST!
I worked my butt off! If you don't like reading a very dense complicated book don't take the class. The papers were pretty easy though. The tests were very hard. Good for people into psych. Not good for people who only sort of like the subject. He is ok as a person but can be rude to some people and not the type to really connect with students.
Super friendly, approachable, and really knows what he's doing.
Excellent professor! I had him for a Psych 300 hybrid class. Very personable and professional at the same time. Go to every class - 2 min essays are random. Use WAC for the research paper!!!! He gives EC for it and it REALLY helps. Very fair and the class was a great challenge!! Changed my major to Psych cuz of it.
Took this class during the summer and it rocked my world. You must attend every class, use BEACON! He's irritating to listen to, but you actually learn so much. He does lecture slides which are always great, but he is completely full of himself, LOL! Seriously, you will see for yourself. Other than that, great class.
very hard tests, study questions never helped, in class of 40 students only one get an "A" I took him fall 2009 7:30 morning class.
I would definitely recommend Dr. Stewart. The first exam is the hardest, but then they get easier when you know what he wants. He relates a lot of the concepts with stories and examples from his own life, which makes it much easier to understand. He gives you study questions online, and he takes almost all of the test questions right from those.
Prof. Stewart was awesome!Doesn't take attendance buut there are random 2 min essays(like pop quizzes). If you actually study for the tests you'll be fine and he gives extremely helpful study guides on his site. Class was actually interesting and if it's your major he's an awesome prof. if not he's great either way.hope I get him again:)
Clear, interesting lectures. Tests are not terribly hard. The average student just has to know the materal well and do some study to get a B or C. But he talks about sexual issues almost every lecture. Personally I think that is a subject that shouldn't be discussed in a classroom and psychology is about more than that.
hard teacher. teaches through powerpoints.quick pace and confusing. hard test.
This class is not hard! Attendance isnt mandatory but he gives 2 min essays (basically pop quizzes) and thats how he takes attendance (randomly). If you go to class he tells you what exactly will be on the test. As long as you study for the test, and pick a topic that interests you for your essay then you'll be good!
I had to admit he's good at teaching, but I had so much trouble understanding what he taught step by step because he changes the topic every 10 seconds. I withdrawed cause I couldn't take it any longer, when he gets to his own comments they got pretty atheist. I spent too much time trying not 2listen to him, I couldn't listen to the lectures :(
BEST PROFESSOR IN THE WORLD. This guy is a PHD and knows his stuff. 4 tests multiple choice, graded on a curve. One project assigned at beginning of semester and due around the last month. No attendance except for random 10 two minute essays throughout the semester so if you don't show up you don't get the points. Also, some testQs based on lecture
Prof Stewart's class is not hard, just study. Read the book, take good notes, and write a decent paper. College isn't supposed to be that easy.Easy to understand.
This guy is great, take him and you'll surely have an awesome time learning!! The class is very easy as well, just take notes and do the study guide and you'll pass every test.
Great Experience! Do the reading, start early on the project, tests are all online. 5 pop-quizes, piece of cake. Def will take him for social psych.
Really fun class, lots of discussion, attendace is not nessecary but the test has question form lecture, Sells Book of his lectures, lol eassy is easy just got to do it ya know, Overall Really awesome class. will be taking his social psych class in the fall!!!!!
Great teacher, always keeps u interested in the material
Professor Stewart was an amazing instructor. I would take any psychology class he teaches in a second. Be sure to show up for class. Just one absences could cost you 5 pts. It would also be wise to do the extra credit. I had a solid B the entire semester but with the extra credit paper I managed to get an A in the class. Take his class.
This Professor uses a Power Point for every lecture he gives and i find it extremely helpful when taking notes. They are well-structured and he explains the content in detail and in different ways to ensure clarity. Attendance is not mandatory, but if u want to pass the class, i would HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend regular attendance.
Amazing teacher (: looked forward to his class. Great feedback from him on assignments all semester long. Really easy to talk to, funny guy.
Come to class take notes. That's all you need to do and for the tests just remember to print out the study outlines and your set. Only reason people fail this class is because they don't come to class and don't prepare for tests.
The 480 class is the Honors version of Psych 300. It's an interesting an engaging class to take. Professor Stewart is helpful, clear on the material, and makes efforts to help students succeed. I'd recommend this class to anyone looking to know more about Psychology. (Class not offered every semester.
Excellent professor. Funny, good man. Easy to understand and talk to. Take notes, read the text as his tests are challenging. Would take him again.
Excellent professor. You can tell he loves to teach, and actually cares for his students. I wished I had paid more attention in his class.
Before taking his class, I had never taken a psychology class before. And after, can honestly say one of the best teachers/professors I have ever had. Stewart made the class interesting and relatable. As long as you read the material in the book, and studied, it was really easy to get an A on his essay tests.demanding class, but definitely worth it
He's really nice and totally personable. He's great at lecturing, although you'll need to read the book too.
I have taken one of his classes before: psyc300. I love this professor. uses a slideshow, very organized. tests are more difficult, but he curves it so that over half have >C. Personalizes the class so you can relate to it.
I am thankful that I had Dr. Stewart as my psychology professor. He is intelligent. open minded, and understanding. His communication skills are excellent and even though he can sound monotonous, he has a great sense of humor and i personally think he's a great person and kept me focused and entertained. He'll make you think but you'll enjoy it.
:-((. His tests are really hard. The questions are not always clear. He is nice and willing to help. I liked the class but still hard class to get a good grade.
Professor Stewart is a nice man who knows his stuff. His tests are based off the lecture slides, but they're still hard. Not an easy A class, but interesting. Not the most lively class, but he's very orderly.
I read alot of great reviews on him but when I took his class, I was bored. He can be very monotone at times and often does not get through his slides due to people wanting to talk all the time. I like his grading system, it is straight forward and not confusing;very easy to follow. His tests are hard but I manged to get an A in his class.
I took his honors intro class. Very nice guy, although I feel like some of his ideas are not the most well thought out. He is open minded and really interested in hearing ideas from the class. Essay style tests for honors, if you can write a lot quickly on a topic (given in advance) you should do very well. Lectures are easy to understand.
He's late to every class, and will keep you past class time so make sure you do not have another class right after his or you will be late everyday. Tests are really hard, doesn't matter how much you study, his questions are vague and apply to more than one answer. However he does grade on a curve which is nice. There are 2 min essays, and 5 exams.
Interesting prof. Not strict about much which may sound nice, but constant eating, talking, laptops and cell phones in his classes made it difficult to pay attention to him. Study guides are provided but tests are hard and vague. Nice guy overall, but wouldn't run to take another of his classes.
the test is not hard as the reviews say, I got an A in everysingle test. this class is doable and easy compared to other science classes I am taking. He will answer your questions and reply the emails as well, is an approachable professor. gives extra credit option,I didn't do that assingment.Ppl ask dumb questions in class, he likes that, i didnt
i got an A on ever test, but (unlike some people) i don't think that means that they tests are easy. curves it so that well over half the class has a C or better, but only about 15% get an A. thats why the tests are hard. i loved this class, i learned way more than i ever thought that i would. the project was fun, plus he's super hot so theres that
ok teacher. test are hard and too many questions. you have to buy his book and makes the notes hard because he wants you to buy his book instead. on the other hand he gives no homework. he makes you stay in class till the last minisule second. and he is never absent. EVER!
Interesting lectures but tests are way hard! No homework but read your book or you will score very low on the test.
the class was interesting to be learn the concepts, but the test were really challenging. For the tests, defintely read the textbook.
Very good teacher . Helpfull!!! easy to talk to. Goes strictly by the book but slides do help. Enjoyed this class
He is a great teacher. He knows what he is talking about and he is very helpful. You have to go to class though and take notes and study for the tests. If you take notes and read, you should do fine.
Their is nothing hard about him. 4 exams, no finals! one study paper, and if 1 extra credit paper. Also no attendene but gives sometimes 2 minute essay at the end of the class which is 5 points each. If you are great at taking notes than no need to read the book.
I was in the psych half online class and it was really easy. Both of the textbooks are REAlly important. You should take notes on the chapter and since the tests were online, you could use all of your notes. The class is very consistent and easy.
This is a boring class. He makes it boring. No homework except for one paper due in the middle of the semester. His test are very hard, so much so that he grades on a massive curve, he gives like 6 A's 15 B's majority of people are C's 15 D's and 6 F's I'm a class of about 100 people. I got 22/45 on two of my test and that is a high C.
He's a nice guy. He did an alright job. I think he has been teaching this class a little too long, because his videos and examples are outdated. Tests are challenging, but if you study you will do just fine. I felt very "meh" about the class, but the topic is interesting as hell.
He was cool and is really chill on attendence. if you show up awesome if not he is not going to chase you around. Be sure to not miss those 2 minute essays though. The tests a more theory/logic based and he gives you a chance to make one up on the day of the final instead of taking a final alone.
Overall, a great professor! He's pretty straight to the point and has a sense of humor. His voice is borderline monotone, so if you have a summer class or a class over an hour and a half prepare some type of energy drink or caffeine.
Great class! Not always exciting but not hard. If you get the notebook he recommends for the class then you're set, all the info he teaches is already in it. For exams he lets you have an index card and gives clear study guides, plus he will let you make up 1 if you miss it. Other than that some 2-minute essays in class and 1 paper. I recommend it.
Great class, great teacher! No homework and no final. Grades on 5 test, a paper and extra credit. Lectures are interesting. Tests are quite challenging but he curves it so no worries. Doesn't mind if you're late but he does 2-minute essays(Easy. Make sure you read/study. Test is really in depth. Allows use of 3x5 card of test. Highly Recommended!
he is probably the best teacher i have had at AR. he is super chill and very passonate about what he does. no homework just four test. just dont pack up early in his class
He was an ok teacher. The extra credit he has you do before each test really helps with ur grade. I passed with an A. He is just kind of boring in his lectures. He never really captured my attention. I think he needs to be more relatable to the younger majority of his students,
A bit boring, but overall not too bad. There's more material on his tests than what's covered in class, so make sure to read the textbook. The class isn't that hard, you can get a decent grade if you put some kind of effort into it (got an A). Take it if psych isn't your major, otherwise look for a more interesting prof.
His lectures are fairly interesting, and it's obvious that he wants his students to do well. His tests are REALLY hard, even he admits it - He grades them on a curve. Doesn't take attendance, but randomly has the class do a "two-minute essay" at the end of class, so go anyway. I would recommend him.
The class itself is relatively boring, but Professor Stewart is really cool and the class is an easy A along as you show up. He does random mini essays to ensure people go to class. One paper and 5 exams but it's easy if you read the book. He gives good EC opportunities! As long as you try, the worst you can get is a B
class is easy, but test are hard, for those who are taking his class regardless of 300 or 320 his test are base on real examples not memorization. Overall his class was interesting and fun
It was a hybrid class so we only met once a week. He was very helpful and passionate about his class. I enjoyed it very much.
This class is pretty interesting as long as you got enough sleep because his voice is monotone but what you learn in his class is interesting. Couple tests no midterm amd final, one essay and randon 2 min essays to give credit to students that are in class.Doesn't care if you're late!
Nice professor grades on curves and interesting class.
i LOVED this class you could do C or better if you did extra credit and paid attention. his whole class is based on curve. make sure you're there everyday. the notecard we are allowed is really useful he is very open and will answer any question and responds to emails quickly. great guy !
his class pretty boring, and his test were very hard.he didn't give any notes, he just recommended to read book which is boring
Great and interesting teacher. Lectures are somewhat stale but it's not dreadful. Allows 3x5 card on tests. Somewhat use of the text but not entirely required to buy. Just take notes and note all his discussions. Random dispersion of 2-minute essay to track attendance. 10 total. Test however are challenging but he curves them. Don't Procrastinate!
Lectures can be boring but if you do the study material that he posts and the extra credit, you have a shot at a good grade.
I enjoyed this class. Although, the lectures are boring, and he always talks about sex. If you want to get a good grade in the class make sure you buy the book and do all of the extra credit assignments. He allows notes on the tests, you'll need them (tests are hard). If you focus on the chapter reviews you will do great!
Incredibly interesting class and he's exceedingly helpful and clear. Always has great notes to provide for improvement, and the homework and projects assigned are fun. They're also not superfluous - they're actually really good learning experiences. Thoroughly enjoyed the entire semester!
He is a nice teacher and I found his class interesting because I am a psych major, however many other students did not. His lectures can be a bit boring and monotonous at times. However, he is a good teacher that knows what he's doing. He grades on a curve. I would recommend him.
Loved his class !
It is an easy class. Show up , do your reading and you will pass the class. He doesn't take attendance everyday but that doesn't mean you can get away with skipping because he does 2 minute essays randomly and that is how he takes roll. I wouldn't say that the book is mandatory, you could probably get away with checking it out in the library.
You can tell Professor Stewart loves Social Psychology. He is very passionate about the topic and makes the subject even more interesting. His tests are no joke though, you will need to study, but he allows a 3x5 card for tests. 4 tests and 1 research project that was actually pretty fun. He will help you prepare for the project. Study guides!
The teaching style is perfect for me. There is no homework and only one research paper, and 4 tests. There are several easy extra credit opportunities. If you do the study questions and reading, the tests will be super easy. Professor Stewart is a very nice and understanding guy, and makes psychology very interesting. I would recommend this class.
Not open minded at all, only cares about his own beliefs, laughs at students. I didn't feel comfortable at all and felt targeted against religion without a need to be. I went with a passion for psychology that was killed. I will be retaking the class with a different professor.
Prof. Stewart is very straight forward in expectations and what needs to be done to succeed in his class. He is direct, and as a social psychologist often will refer to standard stereotypes as examples, which can lead to some students assuming that he holds those beliefs. Not true.
Prof Stewart has A LOT of experience in social psyc. Attendance is random 2-min essays@ the end of class. ZERO hw, but 4 exams(aren't the easiest) but he allows a 3x5 index card. Make sure you do the study guides. I highly suggest taking PSYC335 prior, if I hadnt taken it, I would have been really lost with the research paper. Offers extra credit.
Mark is definitely one of the best, he talks to you, not over your head and I was also in his study abroad program in London, he was extremely helpful and kind.
Great teacher. Liked him so much for general that I took him again for Social Psychology. Would recommend, although I understand he's not for everybody. Includes personal anecdotes. Can go off on tangents but they are usually interesting. He wants you to do well in his class.
An easy class. 5 tests with one card 3*5 for each. One summary/analysis paper and 10 two -minute essays where you always get max. credit. Also you can get an easy 20 points on extra credits. Best teacher ever.
Interesting topics, good class discussions, and caring about students. Tests are a little hard as he can ask for A LOT within one question. You are required to do a class presentation. These are pretty fun to watch because they bring up good class discussions. Sometimes lectures can be a drag but if you participate it can be very interesting.
Dr. Stewart was a good teacher. He answers questions thoroughly and gives tons of extra credit. There are 5 tests, which are not hard as long as you actually read the chapters in the book and listened to lectures. He also gives a research paper which can really help boost your grade if you're a poor test taker. I would take his class again.
Prof. Stewart is funny and very engaging in class. You will not get bored if you are interested in psyc. There are 5 tests and research paper for the midterm. There is homework for each chapter (online ) if you are taking his hybrid class, every friday .
Hybrid class was an easy A. Unfortunately, Prof. Stewart had a stroke &ended up having to leave for the rest of the semester but he had a way of keeping me very engaged during his lectures. Exams all online. No quizzes. You have to buy a launchpad though which was like $80, but the work on there is EASY. Lots of room for extra credit. Take him.
I took this class in 2006 and this was one of the best college classes I have ever had. This professor is obviously very passionate about psych and obviously a subject matter expert in his field.
Had him for the 1st half of the semester & then he left b/c he wasn't strong enough to teach after suffering a stroke in the spring. Honestly wasn't that good of a professor, didn't go over the key points for each chapter during lecture & was so low energy that I wanted to sleep in his class. Prof. Lowe took over & she was organized and amazing!
Professor Stewart is a really nice older guy who just wants to be a university professor. He shares lots of stories and doesn't ever assign homework. All of the tests are take home essays, but DON'T CHEAT! If he gets a lot that look similar, you'll have to do them in class. He's kind of particular but if you talk to him he'll explain what he wants.
He was taking this sem easy bc he was recovering from a stroke. Class was well laid out and his grading was fine. Unfortunately he had to leave 3/5ths through the sem bc he was too tired physically from the stroke to continue. He is very sweet and funny, he cares about his students and encourages practical real-world group discussions.
do the extra credit, it adds up! lectures are boring and don't cover the entire chapter so you'll have to read more at home or look it up. all quizzes and tests are online. only one paper for the semester and it's not that hard. he's very very nice and understanding!
Really interesting to listen to.
The book assigned was a lot of reading, but you can go the entire semester without stepping a foot into the class and pass. He dude is really nice though and gives out a load of extra credit if you really need it.
He's a really sweet and funny guy. Tests are online and there was only one paper which wasn't that hard. I didn't really read the book but I took notes with lecture and did pretty well. Picks random days to take attendance which he does by having you write something about the class you learned that day and turn it in. I learned a lot. Awesome guy.
A kind and fun professor. Emphasizes class participation through various activities, either to demonstrate a principle or just for fun. Attendance taken by writing a couple sentences related to the lecture every few meetings. Would take again.
His lectures are coherent and easy to follow. He's a great teacher. He covers the course material thoroughly. Most importantly, he understands that life is not a perfect science and sometimes it gets rough, he's easy to talk to and I'd absolutely take his class again. Thanks for the great semester Mark!
Amazing professor. No homework, No mid-term or final, on-line quizzes and test. Gives extra credit. Normally he did not take roll only when he gave 2-min essay's. We had 10, 2-min essays the whole semester and he did not grade them. Easiest class I have taken and I have been here 4 semesters already. If you want a easy A take Professor Stewart
Love this professor! Lecture are so interesting. There's no homework except a final paper worth lots of points. I would definatly recommend this teacher!
He is an interesting professor to listen to for sure. The only thing is to make sure you remember to take all of the tests on time. I missed an online test and aced the rest and still ended up with a B doing extra credit and all. I would buy the online textbook to help during online tests. I would take again.
Prof Stewart is an amazing psychology professor. I took his hybrid class and his lectures are great. All of the tests and quizzes are online and there are weekly assignments. He is super caring if you do not get an A in this class it means you do not even put little effort. I wish I could take him for all my Psyc classes!!!!
A M A Z I N G professor! The class was interesting, quizzes were online, and his personality and style of teaching are what really make me miss this class. Take him for sure, you will not regret it. I learned so much in this class.
Really great guy really smart and allows for small discussions and sharing on topics during class which in my opinion helps with learning psychology. Very laidback and doesn't grade harshly on the ONE paper you have to write for the class. Basically if you show up everyday-ish and do all the work you'll pass super easily.
I love this professor very laid back & I enjoy lectures you get to talk about the topic a little , as long as you come to class everyday and do your extra credit and quizzes you will pass ! He makes you do one paper and several test but his study guide and lecture help out a lot !
He is such a sweet person and in my opinion a really good professor. He goes out of his way to get to know his students and genuinely cares about what you have to say. Very approachable and is always willing to clarify if you have questions. I would definitely take this class again, or take any other class that he teaches.
Professor Stewart was super awesome. I had him for social psychology and it was a crazy interesting class. He is super laid back and gives you plenty of time to get work done. There was a weekly quiz on CANVAS, but you get unlimited attempts. Easy A!
Sometimes the lectures were boring depending on the chapter, but overall a good class. Homework and quizzes/tests are all online which I liked. I HIGHLY recommend getting the textbook because a lot of the test answers are found in the book. The lectures just cover the basics, especially if you're taking the hybrid class.
All test and quizzes are online. There is ONE paper but you have almost all semester to do it. Class got interesting sometimes. Randomly, youll have to do two minutes essays in class, but they count towards your attendance and are worth points. Missing those can make your grade go down. The Book is very helpful! Overall, very easy going class.
This class is an easy A if you do all the work. No homework, 1 article analysis paper, quizzes and tests are all online. Also offers study guides for each chapter as extra credit. The are 10, easy, in class writing assignments that Professor Stuart gives randomly throughout the semester as attendance points. Would definitely recommend his class.
Professor Stewart was amazing even though I had him for an online class he made me enjoy psychology. Long lecture videos but if you pay attention and use resources you will pass .
Such a thought grader, especially during COVID 19 you would think he could be more flexible. But he isnt at all. Everyone is going through crazy once in a lifetime things and he has no remorse in failing you like your grade means nothing.
His online class is very easy and clear, every module would already be released at the beginning semester, the tasks usually take you 3 hours a week to complete. Very comfortable.
Took Professor Stewart for my first year of college during Covid 19, now that the year is over have nothing but good things to say weekly discussion board questions, a lot of easy assignments so its easy to keep a high grade, quizzes are unlimited chances. Test of 3 chapters 5 in total in the semester and one Analysis paper 4 pages.
He was very easy, few assignments. No required attendance for anything and pretty interesting discussions. I recommend him.
easy A for me. I didn't even read but skim since I don't have time and passed tests and all final questions are in quizzes and you're able to look up quizlet even if needed. One anaylsis paper and wasn't difficult but in middle but for me all assignments and all was an easy a.
His lectures are LONG. This was an online class and he posted his recorded lectures so be easy for a long lecture per chapter. The work is easy enough if you end the material and the tests as well. His quizzes are often test questions which is helpful. He also is available as needed.
Prof. Mark makes PSYC 300 easy to pass with an A. His video lectures were very long with a low voice. Every week discussion boards, activities (2 attempts), and quiz (as many you want you to have attempted). FIVE TEST (one attempt) and each test have 67 minutes to do and 50 questions. 4-pages essay. A LOT OF READING. Extra Credit, NO FINAL!!!!
SUPER easy class. Currently halfway through and everything is online bc COVID. I know people are saying to use the textbook, but everything you'll need to know for the tests from it can easily be found on Quizlet. Weekly chapter assignments you don't even need the textbook for either and a simple analysis paper. Easy A AND extra credit options.
Professor Stewart's PSYC300 class is pretty straightforward. The workload is manageable, with quizzes, tests, and a single analysis paper. Using resources like unstuckstudy ai and Quizlet can make studying a breeze. Overall, an easy A if you stay on top of the material.
