This guy is a stud! Too bad he's married. I've learne so much from him
this guy is easy. im a guy but from what ive noticed if ur a pretty girl with nice body he pays u a lot of attention and goes easy on u.
this guy does not know how to explain his material and with a quiz every single day then all I have to say is good luck
There is a lot of reading, and you can't afford not to do it. All the test questions come right from the book and handouts, as long as you keep up with the reading it's pretty easy.
Arrogant and not very helpful. What a disappointment as a teacher and person.
Webber is a guy who really loves what he teaches about and just wants his students to as well. However, it is a required course so he gets a lot of morons in there that just want an easy A. NOT GONNA HAPPEN. He makes you actually LEARN something. A++++
Yes, very arrogant!!...but loves the subject he teaches. Lots of reading is required to do well in his class..and with only mult. choice/scantron tests it's hard. Don't expect to be able to walk in late to class!
He was one of the best teachers i have ever had, he was hard but it is worth it!
He waS hard and only likes certain people. he calls on his favorites and has a quiz every friggin day!!! i hated him and it was an extremely long semester
One of the worst classes I have taken at Cuesta. He has a quiz everyday on stuff we have not gone over. Get ready to read a lot. Tests are crazy start studying weeks in advance to maybe pull off a c.
Very organized, easy to grasp info. Study Guides for tests eliminate any surprises. I got an A and all I did was thoroughly study the study guides.
this class should be taught to political science majors..he gives 1-3 quizes daily on the reading..lots of reading and homework...doesnt teach everything..but testS on EVERYTHING
I found the class challenging, but very informative. The most difficult part is having to prepare for the two essays he has you write on the 1st two tests. Talking with him after class helped alot.
Great teacher, does expect alot but is extremely thorough in his lectures. I enjoyed this class and him as a teacher, but it is not an easy A.
Very hard class, if you do bad on one test you will not get an A. He will never smile under any circumstances. Keep your butthole's tight because he's going to try to **** you all semester long.
Get ready to read read and read. This class is not an easy A get ready to study and READ.
The best teacher I have ever had.
You have to read Alot! Don't talk in Class! Turn off cell phone!!! Answer questions alot in class to get on his good side! Lots of quizes that are easy if you read ALL the material. Don't make this guy mad either!
I worked my ass off for a C.Despite that, it was the most that i have ever learned in a history class. There are lots of quizzes and tests. Be prepared to work, and to love history. The material is presented in a coherent manner. What a great teacher!
Mark Weber is the best teacher I have ever had. He is clear, concise, organized and ready to help you succeed. I took him for both History 7b and Political Science 2. Both classes were extremely enjoyable because of the teacher. I learned a ton! Prepare to work hard like any college student should. What a great teacher!!!
This is the best teacher in the whole world!!! He is so organized and with it! He knows his subject matter better than the back of his hand and makes political science the most interesting subject to learn. If you attend class everyday and do your homework, you'll succeed! I finished his class with a high A and loved it!
This guys tough and not a very helpful teacher.
dont take him if ur not interested in history...if u are take him he is the best..he is super clear and super easy to understand..he will give u the best lecture for notes making studying real easy.
Why do I have to put if he's hot or not? Should be an option for DONT CARE. But he's a great teacher, especially if you are interested in history.
He's an **** at times, doesn't give everything thoroughly, can't understand**** in that class...definetly a big NO in my opinion, unless you're way into this subject or major then go for it
he is a great teacher but the class is a lot of work. If you don't like to read get out of this class. Easy if you do the reading. There is a quiz every class and a test every month.
Tons or reading every single night.. Tests daily! HARD CLASS.. HARD TEACHER. Not allowed to be late or absent EVER
I took this guy last year. He bounces all around the room like a crazy person. He expects you to do so much work as if his class was the only one you have. If you have a choice in this class, do not write the essay. They are practically impossible to get a good grade on, especially if you arent verry good at writing. He expects you to cover every single thing that happened in this time period. Reccomend not taking this guy at all, If you are in his class and are not verry good at history, GET OUT!!
Really good teacher. He knows so much about the subject. Fairly hard class but all you have to is go to class and take good notes.
This man is absolutely insane but is hilarious, I loved him. He just has a very odd way of talking and is sarcastic. His tests are pretty hard, and he has essay tests that you have to study for because he grades pretty hard.
I thought his class was really hard. unless you LOVE history i wouldnt take it with him. Gets super mad if you come in late
This guy is funny and takes a simple teaching approach to history. Very good at explaining the information and making clear what you need to know. There are quizes on the reading but the assignments are short, there are only multiple choice tests. Just read before the tests and you'll be fine!
well, Mr. Weber is quite a character. I actually really like him! I think he's kinda tough-- but he knows his stuff, which really helps YOU out. He explains it PERFECTLY. I have never missed a class, I think he's super good!! You have to study and take GOOD notes, and you will be fine! This class is fun! and he's a pretty funny/witty guy.
Weber is so enthusiastic and loves teaching history you cant help but be interested. So many kids at cuesta are lazy and don't want to actually LEARN anything but if you read the book and come to class this is a breeze!
This was the best teacher I have had hands down my past 3 semesters. Only teachs what you need to know for the test. If you go to class every day and pay attention you will be fine! And about his daily quizes, just look at the study guide and only read the pages that have what are on the studying guide and you'll do great! Easy B if not A
AMAZING professor
Great instructor. He presents a fair interpretation of US history, at least most of the time :) Although he assigns reading nearly every class it will only take about 30 minutes to complete. He also gives a study sheet for each section weeks before a test. Anyone who fails to receive an A and thinks they tried, must be a village idiot.
well i dont know about the best teacher ever, but he is however very clear in lectures. If you do the work you will pass the class, do not take it thinking you will not have to commit a fair amount of time to studying. otherwise you will not pass.
Class was tough but it was so worth it! This teacher is fair, but tough and does a GREAT job explaining things. Most importantly he's not into memorizing a bunch of dates and has a ton of really interesting stories worked into his lectures. LOTS of quizes though so if you stay up with the reading you won't have any trouble. I wish all my teachers w
Great teacher. Very organized and deliberate in class structure/lectures. Arrogant, yet in a witty, dry sense of humor sort of way. Class requires ample reading, though the textbook is very well-written and entertaining, so it really isn't that bad. If you go to class, study, and take good notes, you will do fine in the course.Go to his office hours
Explains exactly what he wants and how he wants it. However, you have to go to class. If you don't you're done. I took two of his classes (History and Political Science), and got an A in both.
Kinda intense but worth it. Overall, teaching technique pretty good. A lot of homework!
Excellent teacher and course. The class was multi-thematic, well organized and entertaining. Politics, of all the themes, is emphasized the most, so consider your ability in PoliSci beforehand. Exams cover both lecture and reading material-more so the latter. Since this is a heavy reading class, those with supurb reading skills should excel.
I loved this class because he makes it easy to get an A if you do the work and you learn a lot! You have to go to class and do the reading, he gives a lot of in class quizzes on the reading = easy points. Tells you exactly whats going to be on the tests and is very helpful. Oh yeah and don't be late!
Hands out a lot of assignments but makes learning political science very interesting. You must be ON TIME to every class or he wont let you in. Treats his students likes adults and expects them to act like it. Although intense i loved his class. If you put the effort in and go to class, you will do fine!!
Makes history interesting, doesnt use a normal textbook, uses a story book which is nice. Doesnt make you memorize dates or anything, just the important stuff. But he has quizzes all the time but they are easy and add up to easy point! If you show up every day and take notes you will pass and learn ALOT!
I don't know what these people are talking about. This guy is sh*t. Avoid at all costs. He is far too sporadic in his lectures and throws tons of hand-outs at you. If you take him you better pay close attention to every little thing cuz he's trying to burn you at every turn. Don't take him. He sucks. These people saying he's good are his few pets
Weber is a very-knowledgeable teacher. His class is almost entirely lecture, though he often asks for student input, or questions. There's A LOT of reading for his class, from the textbook, handouts, & articles that the student must print out from online. There are almost-daily quizzes (of about three questions) and tests every few weeks. Love him.
Horrible teacher! history isn't THE MOST important class in the college! especially if someone hates it. It is very hard to pass his class, i dropped this class after the first midterm- couldn't stand him! very arrogant teacher! Please, DO NOT take him!!
If you love history take this class! You must attend class! usually lets you know ahead of time if you have a quiz, his tests are easy if you study and follow along with your reading and study guides. He is very passionate, which makes the class interesting. He lets you know exactly what he wants on the writing assignments. Final wasn't that hard.
He's very fair, makes his expectations and instructions very clear, and is willing to help if you're willing to seek it. You will learn a lot in his class, bu in a way that won't make you have no life. He also gives you 15 extra credit points at the beginning as a buffer and gives free quiz points a fair amount.
Very thorough teacher; if you pay attention you'll be surprised at how much you know when you go to take the test. However, there is A LOT of reading and preparation - if you're not majoring or don't have a strong interest in Poli Sci, I'd recommend another teacher.
HARDEST CLASS EVER!!!
(Get ready to level small forests with the amount of articles and study outlines he will either give you or ask you to print out.) If you like history, take his class because Weber knows it well (both the historical facts and the ins and outs of being a historian). If you want better study skills, take his class because Weber both demands a lot and
Hard class. take good notes, read what you are asked. GO TO OFFICE HOURS WHEN SUGGESTED and you will get a good grade in this class. His class demands time and energy, but it was a fabulous history class, I would take it again.
And Pols 202. If you care about: your education, preparing for University level classes, and testing whether or not you are capable of buckling down and handling a thorough course, take Weber. He'll do everything he can to make sure you earn the grade you deserve. This is an opportunity to change how you comprehend material, before it's too late.
BEST HISTORY TEACHER EVER! His discussions are engaging and you walk out actually learning a thing or two. He gives you all the material you need to outline your midterm essay. He requires you be on time and he makes you print out a lot of material but its all REALLY useful and helpful. extremely recommend Weber
Why are all of these people giving this teacher good reviews? This class was absurd. Tests are IMPOSSIBLE to pass. Out of 30 students, 20 got D's and F's. By the last drop out date more than half the class dropped. If you're a minute late he will send you out. Essay Q's are up to 9 paragraphs long. Pop quizzes every week. Unreasonable expecatations
I took him for history and bombed it bad, then decided to try him again in polysci and did awesome! knowing how he grades really helped. Make sure to be super prepared for his essays and you'll be fine! (essays are hard, lots of memorization but you actually learn a lot) gonna take the next level of polysci because of this guy!
Weber is passionate about history. He tends to put the class down because he has overly high expectations for his students. The class was interesting, but too difficult. This class requires lots of homework time that includes reading and printing off documents, textbook assignments, and "integration" of notes. Weber is a good teacher, but too hard.
Difficult in that there's a lot of reading and quizzes nearly every class. Mr. Weber has ABSURD class rules, and clearly has a god complex. Makes you print off dozens of "handouts" that most of the time you don't even need in class. He's passionate and well informed on his subject, and his lectures are interesting, though.
Difficult class, but I learned a lot. You must read ALL the handouts and papers he assigns, there will most likely be a quiz on it. Lots of reading. I didnt expect or want to spend so much time doing homework and reading for a history class.
Difficult teacher, I don't advise taking his class unless you intend on majoring in Poly Sci. You learn a lot in his class, unfortunately if you don't have your random textbook facts down you won't earn higher than a C. Take with caution.
weber is a great teacher. He gives you both sides of the story and holds your attention. he doesnt take roll but your only hurting yourslef not attending. one downfall is he make you print ALOT of handouts and your grade is based soley on pop quizes and tests but there is no homework. He words the tests to make sure you know the answer."cant guess"
Mr. Weber is a GREAT teacher. He makes his expectations clear and makes time for questions more than once during each class. He also tells you what you MUST study. You do have to print off tons of articles and I suggest you read them. His quizzes are based on the previous nights reading assignment. If you want to learn a lot, take his class!
Political Science is not my favorite subject to say the least. But Weber is a great teacher! He doesn't go off on tangents, he WANTS you to learn and understand, and he will help you a lot if you go to his office hours. He is very clear on what he wants from students and makes good use of class time. Highly recommended!
Hard teacher, read when assigned because there most likely will be a pop quiz the next class, bring all handouts from online to class or he will be angry, if you can't print all of the pages then bring a laptop or something, the only good thing I got out of this class was meeting a few friends.
I was unable to attend class due to a medical reason and he was very rude about it and unprofessional towards me missing it I confronted him ahead of time, letting him know I couldnt attend and needing the assigned work in advance.
Weber makes everything very clear and is super organized. Yeah, there is reading and you have to print up some stuff, but if you just do the homework its hard not to ace the class. He also gives out a lot of extra credit. I had 14 units and still aced his class with 115%. The tests are multiple choice, except midterms, which were amazingly easy.
Very Straightforward Style. He won't surprise you with test questions, his quizzes are easy and the tests are easy-Only hard thing about class is his essays-and as long as you just show up to class and take good notes (and review them) you'll do fine on those too. Literally to succeed in Mr. Weber's class just show up and do the assignment.
Weber is a very thorough teacher! He gives you everything you need to succeed in the class, but you definitely have to do your part. This is not a class you can skip! There is usually a quiz every class meeting from the assigned homework reading. He's a great teacher! He also loves when you ask questions!!
Weber is awesome! His lectures reflect the tests very well. GO TO CLASS to get the next assignment or be quized. He does pop quizes every week at least once and gives you a lot of oppurtunities for extra credit at the beginning of the semester. Also, he seems strict but he is a very nice guy if you talk to him for a minute and show interest.
His class is easy if you read each assigned chapter. I also highly suggest the additional documents he posts online. Every week there is at least one pop quiz. He creates study guides. There will be 3 essay tests w multiple choice. The rest are just multiple. I'm truly sad the class is going to end. Read and you will do great.
He's clear with his lectures and the class is overall organized. However, I have a huge issue with the midterms. You are required to study two essay questions that contain a lot of info to be memorized and ready to cite in great detail. The catch is that only one essay will be tested so a lot of time is wasted through stressful hours of studying
Reading chapters and online worksheets that Professor Weber assigns will be crucial to acing his pop quizzes. Also, all the questions that he presents on the pop quizzes will show up on the mid-term multiple choice, normal exams, and especially the final. So doing the homework and asking questions is essential to receiving an easy A.
Lots of quizzes, but usually no more than 5 questions that are really easy if you do the reading. He's clearly passionate about history & wants to share that with students. The essays were a bit of a pain, but if you do an outline and visit his office before the midterm, he'll tell you what's missing and let you read an A sample paper. Great class.
He tells you exactly what you need to do to succeed. Do the reading - it's not long, and it won't kill you. Print the BTC stuff. Answer his questions in class, show up on time, and try to get to know him. He's genuinely interested in history, and seems to care about his students. While parts of it were boring, I actually really enjoyed his class.
Pretty easy class, but he treats everyone like children. If you show up late you have to sign a paper and may eventually get dropped from the class. Also, he chased people who tried to leave out and made them come back in. I just think he should spend less time trying disciplining, it is a waste of time. We are adults.
Awesome professor. Pretty strict with rules and guidelines for class, but all are to help you! If you have some interest in the subject then take it, if not dont waste your time. Really engaging teacher that presents history in a way that makes it interesting. He tells you everything you need to get an A, so just do what he tells you!
Mr. Weber was awesome. He's very passionate and knowledgeable about his subject, his lectures were always fascinating, he always made sure to answer questions, his choice of reading material was great, and his tests were pretty easy, as long as you've made sure to read everything assigned. I would definitely take him again!
This was the hardest class I have taken at Cuesta. Expect a quiz every class, lots of exams and homework. Not only did we have to read the text book but he would have pages and pages to print out before each class with activities to do. When you got to class the quiz would be off the reading and the hw assignments. I did learn ALOT though .
Weber is very passionate about his subject. His powerpoints are always entertaining. There is a lot to print out and quizzes all the time but he is very straight forward you just have to be willing to prepare
Mr Weber uses a great textbook that is not dry. He has knowledgeable lectures that get the point of the course across. There is a lot of reading and handouts that he assigns, and almost every class starts with a quiz. Midterms consist of a multiple choice section and an essay. He has you prep for two essays, but only has one on the actual test.
This class was very hard to keep up with the reading. The teachers lectures were interesting to me, but made my friend next to me fall asleep every class. If you are late he makes you write your name down on a piece of paper and after a certain number he will start taking away from your grade or just drop you (so he says).
Dr. Weber was a really good professor. He made a boring subject interesting. The only thing I wish I would have done differently is stay on top of the readings and homework. If you do that you will be fine. If you don't, be ready to struggle through the semester not knowing if you are going to pass like I did.
Hands down my favorite instructor of all time. As a Polisci major I found myself pleasantly frustrated by the fact that I couldn't figure out his politics. He is fair and consistent. I got the impression that every day of class was planned down to the minute detail. He is cold and uncaring in the most endearing way, I aspire to be like him.
you wont regret it
I regret taking this class honestly. I just took it because it is a GE requirement but he acts like everyone in there is Political Science majors. There is soo much homework and a quiz almost every class meeting. He's a flaming democrat that blamed Bush for 9/11 and Lyndon Johnson for Vietnam. Run while you can and send help.
Amazing class! I learned so much in his political science class! His workload is a little much but there is nothing on his tests that he doesn't cover. Very helpful! Amazing lectures! I wish I could take this class again!
Great class, he always takes time to make sure all questions are answered. There are no assignments due, all points are in tests/quizzes. There is usually a small 5 question quiz each week. He gives 20 extra credit points on the first day so you don't fail if you miss a quiz. No group activities and every class is a lecture + only 2 in class essays
If you don't love history, you'll have A LOT of trouble with this class. Weber has one (6-15 pt) quiz every class for the reading HW and he gives a test every two weeks. Two midterms have essay portions where you regurgitate info to his liking. I found the book and lectures interesting but I wouldn't recommend for Gen. Ed. b/c of the difficulty.
Weber is a good professor don't get me wrong, but if you're not a polisci major don't think about it. You have over 20 quizzes throughout the year four tests, two midterms, and a final. He's a hard grader on all your in class essays which you have maybe a hour to complete. Expects you to read roughly 20 pages a night if you don't want to fail quizs
If you arent a PoliSci major DONT TAKE THIS CLASS! I took this class as a general ed class and it ended up consuming my life!!! Tons of reading every night, and be prepared for a quiz almost every class. Way to much! Not fun at all.
His lectures were above average and were engaging usually. As long as you stay up on the reading and read over your notes regularly and really prepare when it comes to the tests then you will be fine. Hes a little more on the difficult side but nothing crazy.
What a great teacher. Weber is such a great guy. Hes so enthusiastic about the subject and makes things that I never understood before make sense. He assigns a lot of homework. I only ever skimmed through it. The class is confusingly set up at first. Not hard to get an A but make sure you know the grading. Hes great to talk to in office hours.
Really good teacher. He does assign a lot of reading, it's not mandatory. You can easily pass his class with an A or B without even touching his book. He does give a lot of quizzes but it's pretty much free points, just have to skim the reading at most. Usually each quiz he gives a free question and 20 points, lots of extra credit opportunities
Weber is such a great professor. I don't really care much for history but he made it really fun. There's a quiz almost every day but there's no reason you shouldn't pass his class. He's very welcoming and offers many way to pass his class from great office hours to amazing feedback, study guides, and optional reading. I passed with skimming the hw
Pretty great, I took him for history last semester and now I'm currently taking him again for POLS. His lectures are clear and he will always make sure that you know what to focus on for all of the exams. I took him to meet transfer requirements but honestly ended up enjoying his class. Highly recommend you take him.
Weber gives great lectures and is always clear on what you need to study for the exams. He has daily 3-5 question quizzes, attendance is "mandatory." Lots of HW, mostly readings (quizzes on them). 3 Exams, 2 midterms, and the final. Midterms each have an essay component, he gives the essay Q's ahead of time and is clear on everything, not too bad.
great lectures, very concise, and gives great detail, as well as preparation for upcoming tests/quizzes. you do have to do a lot of reading and textbook work, in order to maintain your grade, but i loved the class
Id like to see this guy teach something true for once. But until then ill blindly show up to his class just to get the credit i need.
350 characters is not even a quarter of what I would need to tell you how much this guy sucks!
I don't know who keeps giving this guy good reviews. Im usual an A student but barely passed after putting in tons of work every day. Also Weber says he around for office hours but always wants you to leave the second you get there.
Weber is pretty great, although you should be prepared to actually read the textbook/articles and actually take notes on the vids before you take the quizzes. Weekly quizzes 15 questions each, TAKE THE PRACTICE QUIZZES they almost always include 4 answers that are on the quiz so you get 4 free points. Clear on grading and grades discussions well
Mr. Weber was not a bad teacher at all! He's definitely passionate about what he's teaching. He's straightforward about everything you should study and gives plenty of time for the weekly quizzes. He does assign a large chunk of textbook reading that sometimes isn't as applicable as you'd hope, but it's interesting nonetheless.
a test every week thats due monday thats it so if you know anyone in the class you can help eachother study, the test are all based on his videos which he post every week you need to watch the whole thing to pass the test, you cant cheat unless you copy someone that alr took it his discussion post are essays 2 pages for each discussion had to do 3
Professor Weber is a great teacher who is truly dedicated to teaching and helping his students succeed. Before taking his class I wasn't really into history that much and I was only taking it for the credit, But now after completing his class history is one of my favorite subjects. Professor Weber it very dedicated to his students.
His online class was very easy. Every week you watch a few videos, read a chapter, and take a 15 question quiz. Honestly, I finished the homework for each week in a day or two. Each semester he does 2-3, 600word papers. I received an 'A' with getting 24-30/30 on all quizzes. Gives bonus points halfway through. Easy credit.
Very easy class. Honestly, I did not learn anything.
Avoid if possible
This is by far my favorite professor here at Cuesta, his lectures won't bore you to death, he gives you a guideline to exactly what you need to know at the beginning of each week, low assignment count (all his assignments are end of week quizzes and a discussion post here n there). Taking good notes is easy as he basically hands them to you.
Fun and simple history class that isn't too hard. Sort of my ideal college class. Weekly tests that are pretty easy if you take good notes, and the occasional discussion assignment. Easy to understand and well-thought-out lectures that were rarely biased. (though week 16 material was very political/biased) Overall, great class, would recommend.
