He's neither arrogant nor rude. He knows his stuff and if you're willing to work and go to class you'll do just fine. He's extremely helpful.

Difficult class to take but he's very good at teaching it and you'll learn a lot. More work than the average class but not the worst.

Mr. Witizel is one of the most helpful professors at ECU! I would recommend him as a teacher to anyone. The class is hard in general but he really does care and is willing to help everyone. If you are having trouble make sure you go by his office and get his help!

WONDERFUL! This was the best class I have had in my 4 yrs here. He allows a cheat sheet for every test and he can explain things so you can understand then. He is very organized and the things he teaches can be used in real life, like retirement funds, stocks, and bonds. It really was a great class!

He is the only teacher I've been able to acutally understand when it comes to finance anything. I hate business and my schedule was dropped 2x but i still managed a B. It can be done and he is really understanding if you talk to him.

Anyone who fails this class might as well quit life. Not only does he explain the material well, but he genually wants you to succeed and he gives you the tools, along with his partner Len Rhodes, to do so. Take this like NOW!!!!!

Too many personal stories, goes off track alot. All quizzes are online. Come to class and ALWAYS bring your i-clicker or you will not be able to be counted as present. Alot of extra credit opportunities so take advantage. Only bad thing, some of the quiz questions are not in the book so pay attention in class or use Google. Final is optional.

I had heard such horrible things about Mr.Weitzel & so I took Mr.Smith when taking FINA 3004 and he ended up not passing me with a C.I took it the 2nd time with Mr.Weitzel & he turned out to be a great teacher.He might be a little hard on you, but if you ask for help- he is more than willing to help you. Def. recommend him! Don't be afraid to ask!

Great teacher. I did not want to take his class at all but its actually my favorite now. you dont need the book so don't buy it we havent used it once. attendance is madatory. quizes are easy you get 3 tries and at least a week to take a quiz.

I did the online summer session 1. It sucked! Soooo hard. If you take it during the summer it takes up all your time. Does not teach from the book. His lectures are useless until you get to the math part. Test are terribly hard. Problems are nothing like what he shows in class. He is nice and helpful but I don't know how anybody can pass.

took the 5 week summer session VERY FAST and can be hard. You do teach yourself. He gives links to help you better understand. He is very lenient. Responds quickly to emails

Mr. Weitzel does a good job teaching the class and is very helpful but prepare to be annoyed constantly by his bad jokes, comments on adult beverages, and bragging about his knowledge of the subject, his wife's career, and his past career. Its an easy class as long as you do the quizzes on time. You usually get 6 days and 3 tries.

This class is the easiest A you will ever get. BUT if you have a lot of trouble getting yourself to class, do NOT take this class. Attendance is 50% of your grade! Also, make sure to know when the quizzes are due, you get three tries and six days to do them so you should get an A on each. (Plus the teachers drop the lowest 2 grades.)

This has got to be the best class I have ever taken at ECU. The professor is hilarious and really makes class enjoyable!! I love attending class everyday. It is very easy but very helpful class it really should be mandatory for every student to take this class before they graduate.

Overall the class was awesome, really easy to understand the material for all the quizzes at least. The final was such bull, nothing like the quizzes, all information that was never discussed in class and extremely hard to find in the text.

Mr. Weitzel and Rhodes are phenomenal professors. Attendance is mandatory after missing class 3 times but their lectures are very class involving and fun. Drops 2 lowest quiz grades, extra credit at the end of the course, and quizzes are straight out of the book. The final exam was a little tough, 2 hours online covering all material. Awesome class

Mr. Weitzel and Mr. Rhodes are great. Not only are the extremely knowledgeable, they're funny too! I recommend this class to all who need an elective. The quizzes are easy and you get three tries and 4 days to complete them and they drop you two lowest quiz grades. They also give you starbucks giftcards if they call on you!

This is such a fun class to take! My advisor suggested I take it as a GPA booster and an "easy A" but I ended up LOVING this course and have been considering taking another class with Mr. Weitzel and Ira Rhodes! 25% of your grade is attendance, 50% are the quizzes (which are all on Blackboard), and 25% is the final exam!

Best class I have taken here at ECU. So much fun and the professors are very funny, they are kind of all about themselves but I learned A LOT! No test only final and 14 online quizzes, very easy all the answers are in the book. You can only miss 2 classes without getting points off but it's so worth going too. EASY A!

Such a great class to take. My one suggestion is go to class. You need a clicker and DO NOT give someone your clicker, he will catch you for cheating!!!!! Everything is online, the final is harder than the quizzes but not by much!

Class was easy. Taught by two dudes who like what they do (maybe a bit too much? you decide). The textbook was cheap (35 I think). Didn't buy it, I just showed up, did all the quizes and got an A. You get three chances to take a quiz and there's about a quiz every week. Gotta show up AND STAY for the clicker questions, they count for attendance.

super fun/easy teaches everything we shouldve learned in HS but didn't. Textbook was barely used but will be so useful to have when buying home/car etc. so get the book. They are very smart business men. However, they understand the inside workings of just about everything. You learn SO much about finances and how to live on your own. It's fun to hear stories about their mistakes as college students, and helps you prevent the same ones. Textbook needed, quizzes every week- 3 attempts each :)

Honestly, this class is one of the easiest classes at ECU. It also teaches about real-life situations, which is almost more important than anything you'll learn out of a textbook (textbookfree, btw). Attendance is mandatory but there's no work to be done in class so you just come in and listen. Can be boring sometimes. They're quality instructors.

Great guy, and a really informative class on things you actually need to know. Attendance is absolutely mandatory, the clickers are used for attendance. No electronics are allowed, so its kinda annoying when you are used to taking notes on your laptop.

Mr. Weitzel is very knowledge on finance, and he is also hilarious which is a plus. Lecture heavy class but the way he does his lectures and forms almost a comedy duo with Mr. Rhodes, the other professor, makes the time fly and you learn without even realizing it. Mr. Weitzel is a great professor. He teaches with Professor Rhodes, who is also a great teacher. The class attendance is mandatory because there are clicker questions for attendance, but you won't want to miss class because the information is very essential, and things that you will definitely need for the future. This class was very interesting and beneficial for future needs. Each lecture you're given a stimulation (take multiple times), 2 quizzes and a homework (3 attempts) - but it is all very easy. Just show up to class and take notes. Briefly read the textbook and you're good. He gives 2 free absences and gives out prizes in class.

This is one of the best classes I have ever taken at ECU! I highly recommend taking this course before graduating. It is a huge life saver that will benefit your future goals/career. They are awesome professors as well. I will definitely be using what was taught to me in this course in my future personal life.

This class was supposed to be in person but it changed to online. It was pretty straightforward and easy. He would post video lesson that had questions embedded in them. Your grade is determined by hw on Pearson, weekly quizzes, and exams. Just make sure you get everything done and pay attention to videos because the quizzes are based on them.

I took Finance 1904 with Professor Weitzel and he was great! The class was online and there was module videos along with some Pearson work and a 20 question test each week. The tests were not lockdown and most of the answers were on quizlet. Not too much work at all. As long as you turn in everything on time you should be able to get an A!

Class is pretty easy just watch the videos and do the Pearson as well as the 20 question quizzes and you will get a good grade. You get 3 opportunities for the quizzes and they take the best grade. Good easy A and you learn helpful tips for your future along the way.

Interesting course and very eductaional! He's pretty funny and the course itself is not at all too difficult and the textbook is required!

You'll need a calculator for this course in order to complete the math problems. He's very lecture heavy. You have to watch the videos within the modules that include embedded quizzes (grade). Then, you have to use Pearson to complete other quizzes and short answers (grade). Then, you have separate quizzes. However, good class and funny professor.

I loved this personal finance class, it made me feel so much more knowledgeable about real world situations involving money. Dr. Weitzel is a very nice professor. This is an online class, but it is very structured and due dates are clear. You watch videos every week, do a mini simulation, and take a quiz. I found it very easy to do the work.

This class is very time consuming there are a lot of videos to watch and lots of reading However the class was still enjoyable and professor weitzel Is pretty funny and likes to joke around with students as long as you keep up with the work it's not a hard class at all. I took this class online, I had two professors for the lecture videos. They were absolutely so cute together, bromance between them two is so funny to see. It is a very easy class as long as you do the work. There is no redo's if you miss a assignment, but the assignments are easy to complete just make some time for them.

Easy class! Go at your own pace but there are deadlines. You get access to everything and you have plenty of time to watch all the videos, do the homework, quizzes, exams. Videos have questions and there is a final exam! No extensions bc you get almost 2 weeks for each assignment/topics. Take it if you need to fill your credits!

This online course has a lot of content, but with a little organization and using tools like unstuck study, it's manageable. Professor Weitzel has a dry sense of humor that keeps things lively. Just stay on top of the deadlines and you'll do well.
